Olaf has been my favorite Champ since I picked him up on the road to level 30. Olaf is an anti-carry, he has the ability to force a team to target him, ignore all CC, zone out a carry if no one targets him or leaves the carry alone, and do massive damage at the same time.

Why have so much armor from runes? Olaf is very fragile early, until level 5 you should be very cautious. Taking the full armor runes starts you off with 60 armor, and if you go cloth 5 pots you start with 90 and can safely trade/farm/harass with your E without taking to much of a risk. Things to note, if your facing an AP top, you should take Attack Damage Reds, Armor yellows, Magic Per level blues, and flat magic resist quints. The extra AD makes it easier to last hit, and with the MR per level blues you scale harder late game and because of the quints you have the durability early as well.

(Note: I played Olaf when you had to predict the enemy teams CC and use his ultimate before the CC, now I prefer to actually take the CC so that they can't use it on your team and then instantly break it and go hero mode on them all.)

Starting with [imgsmall=skills/olaf/q.png] allows u to get an auto attack in if your trading and farm from a distance if your being zoned because the other person has a stronger early game. Also helps with ganks Maxing [imgsmall=skills/olaf/e.png], top lane Olaf. After you max your [imgsmall=skills/olaf/e.png] it is preference on what you level, if your being out harassed and no you can't kill your opponent then max [imgsmall=skills/olaf/w.png] and sustain, if you are having jungle help and you feel you are stronger max [imgsmall=skills/olaf/q.png].

If your jungling as Olaf, go 21-9-0 AD Reds and the rest Attack speed. Allows for a super fast jungle clear. Don't need armor because you need to take advantage of [imgsmall=skills/olaf/p.png] and having low health to jungle faster Start with a [imgsmall=items/vampiric-scepter.png] and your [imgsmall=skills/olaf/q.png]. Get one level of [imgsmall=skills/olaf/w.png] at level 2 Jungling Skill Order: [imgsmall=skills/olaf/r.png][imgsmall=skills/olaf/q.png][imgsmall=skills/olaf/e.png][imgsmall=skills/olaf/w.png](with the one rank of W at level 2) I always build [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png][imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png] Fratmogs on Olaf while jungling for the extra slow. A good item on Jungle Olaf is [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] because you can get the GP5 early instead of getting the full Wriggles, and the shurelyas gives you CD redcution for [imgsmall=skills/olaf/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/olaf/e.png] spam, and it is like a free ghost.

Olaf is a very strong champion. And with the new buffs in the upcoming patch I hope that it doesn't push him over the top like Shen is now. He was never weak he has always been strong people are just bad at Olaf. And in the words of Dyrus "OLAF IS HERO MODE"
