Gragas is a very strong ap caster due to his ability of dis-positioning. Gragas is one of the few ap casters with very high mobility, poke and burst damage. He is considered a valuable champion in competitive play because of his pokes and disposition from his ultimate. While playing gragas, your main goal is to farm everything and win your lane. With his high mobility, opportunities for ganks will naturally happen on the map. When an enemy is caught or being chased down, you will surprised of how fast you can get there with his body slam. PS: I kind of don't like gragas because he is kind of fat and he looks pretty ugly as a champion. I much prefer champions like brand because when you type /taunt , brand like goes super saiyan and looks super sexy and he prolly gets all the girls if he doesnt like burn them to death, you know br0? I think riot should have made gragas some hot girl with like big boobs, or yeah .. i dunno.

After the season 3 changes, i've started to prefer this rune setup more. You rarely need much mana regen on Gragas nowadays so the hp per level is good, it helps you tank enough damage to get in and get out. I like the ap per level and hp per level, it makes me scale more into late game. [imgext=]

[title][img=skills/gragas/p.png] Passive: Happy Hour[/title] [number]On ability use, Gragas takes a drink restoring 2% of his max health over 4 seconds.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is a really strong passive because of the low mana cost on Gragas's spells. Early, game you'll be balancing your spells out to harass and heal yourself. Rarely do you ever see me cast 2 spells at once, unless i'm going to heavily damage my opponent or go for the kill. You want to use your passive as efficiently as possible and restore as much hp as you can. For instance, when you've just finished casting drunken rage to restore mana and health through the passive, do not cast a barrel until your passive has disappeared. Every little bit counts and will help you become a better player! [title][img=skills/gragas/q.png] Q: Barrel Roll[/title] [number]Gragas rolls his cask to a location, which can be activated again to explode or will explode on its own after 5 seconds, dealing 85 / 135 / 185 / 235 / 285 (+90% of ability power) magic damage in the area. Cost 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 mana Range 1100 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Gragas's barrel roll is his main harass spell and farming spell. You mainly use this spell to harass your opponent down in lane and then go for the kill. Another good way to use this spell, is to do q-->e-->r-->q--->e+ ignite, this is his burst damage combo. If you can 1 shot your enemy by just using qer+ ignite, it is worth it to kill them fast and RUN - so u dont get ganked!. Using your judgement is key on gragas, because having that ignite is a big threat to your opponent. If you are able to kill your opponent with just EQR, make sure to not use ignite. There are other situations that you may want to just use ignite anyways just to kill them faster. If you were in a low health position, and you want to burst them down , before they can deal damage to you ---> ignite + qer with smart cast. [title][img=skills/gragas/w.png] W: Drunken Rage[/title] [number]Gragas guzzles down brew from his cask, channeling for 1 second. He gains 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 mana while channeling, and becomes empowered after finishing, increasing physical attack damage by 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70, and reducing damage taken by 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 / 18% for 20 seconds. Cooldown 30 seconds Range 20 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Drunken Rage is an awesome spell, because it gives you very good lane sustainability and makes you able to tank early game. Don't underestimate the damage reduction on Drunken Rage, it is huge! Always remember to use Drunken Rage, before engaging a fight - it will save you ^^ ! Drunken Rage helps you so much in lane because it gives you mana and heatlh through your passive. Although Gragas is a melee caster, drunken rage helps him deal with ranged casters in the early phase of the game. Also remember that Drunken rage gives you additional attack damage, which makes last hitting SUPER SUPER DUPER Wooper easy peezee pumpkin ez. [title][img=skills/gragas/e.png] E: Body Slam[/title] [number]Gragas charges forward, colliding with the first enemy unit he hits and dealing 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+50% of ability power) plus 66% of his physical damage to enemies in the area. Damage is split amongst targets hit. Units hit by Body Slam are slowed by 35% for 2.5 seconds. Cost 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70mana Range 25000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] 2nd, but not least..... BODY SLAM. Body slam is my favorite spell because Gragas rams his fat belly into the opponent making then queezy due to how smelly his belly is. Okay bros, Body slam helps with ganks so much because it gives you such high mobility. You can really outplay opponents, because you can dodge skill shots, and jump through almost any wall. Remember that Body Slam does very very high damage on single target champions, so when you catch an opponent in the middle of the jungle or river... hes pretty much dead. [title][img=skills/gragas/r.png] R: Explosive Cask[/title] [number]Gragas throws his cask to an area. Upon landing, it deals 200 / 325 / 450 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to all units struck, knocking them back and applying a 20 / 30 / 40% attack speed debuff. Cooldown 90 / 75 / 60seconds Cost 100 / 125 / 150mana Range 1050[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Watch the video BELOW to learn how to use gragas ultimate for disposition. Explosive Cask is the hardest part about Gragas and used differently in every single position. Depending on the team composition and situation, there are a few ways to use his ultimate. You can use Gragas ultimate for ; Disposition, Burst, or poke. When you're playing against a team without heal, your objective is to get golem/deathcap and go down middle with your team. You want to stay very very far back and cast Barrel Rolls and Explosive Cask! As soon as you get that deathcap, grab blue and get your team to go middle. If you're in solo queue, make sure to let them to know that your objective is not to engage, but to poke and take towers. With blue, deathcap and a brilliance potion, your ultimate should be 40 seconds and you can just siege towers!

[center][img=items/dorans-ring.png][/center] You can never get enough of these beautiful rings. I usually get one ring for each finger... ( take into account that i'm missing 7 ~8 fingers. Okay, i usually go 2~3 depending on how the game goes and how well i'm doing early game. I really like doran's ring because they are really strong early game and I usually use them through out early/ mid game...until I have to sell them. The extra health helps me survive ganks and helps me pull off aggressive plays because I CAN TANK TOWERS YEEE. The additional AP helps me clear creep waves with 1 barrel roll and slam .. at lvl 9. [center][img=items/sorcerers-shoes.png][/center] Sorcerer b00ts are really good on gragas because it is very easy to hit targets that have low MR with his abilities. Gragas is an AP burst caster and the sorc boots help you deal true damage to squishies early game. I usually go these boots like 99% of the time unless the opposing team has like 5 stunners, then ill have to go merc treads. Rushing these boots early is usually a good idea. [center] [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png][/center] Deathcap is the must have item on gragas. Gragas is played as an AP Burst caster, so you want to rush this item asap... without hurting your early game too much. Going doran's ring before this item is generally the best thing to do. [center][img=items/lich-bane.png][/center] Lichbane is really really good on gragas, because it increases his burst damage. You can QER autoattack + ignite for like 2500 hp ... depending your AP. Depending on the team composition, you may want to go void staff first ( when the other team stacks mr) . Otherwise going lichbane after deathcap... would be the better route to go. [center][img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] [/center] You usually rush this item as your second to last item, or last item depending on the situation. If you need survivability.. then I would recommend this item as your second last item after... deathcap, lichbane, void staff, sorc boots. IF you don't need survivabillity, get DFG before hourglass. This item is really strong because it allows you to go in and DFG + Q+ E +R + auto attack. ANY target should die from this combo... usually even tanks. Going DFG is really good , because it gives you the option to instantly focus down a tank as well. If you're able to position yourself correctly, killing an enemy AD carry or AP carry.. should be easy. [center] [img=items/deathfire-grasp.png][/center] I always recommend DFG on any caster because it gives you the ability just to instantly burst down any target (when you have void staff). The extra threat that DFG gives is immense. Gragas already has so much burst damage with his spells, however adding lichbane damage and dfg damage is immense. [img=items/void-staff.png] Void staff is an essential item on any ap caster as well. ESSENTIAL BRO, MUST HAVE , NEED, WANT... GET THIS ITEM AFTER DEATHCAP OR AFTER DEATH CAP + LICH BANE. There is nothing better than void staff...after getting dcap, lichbane for gragas.

Gragas has a very strong early game and very high sustain in lane. Your main objective is to farm and poke your opponent down in order to make kills a possibility. The best way to farm with barrel is to hit both enemy champion and last hit with barrel. Usually, once an enemy is low enough - you want to use explosive cask to knock them back into a body slam with a barrel roll. With Ignite, the damage is well over 700 at level 7. Gragas has a very strong burst early, if you're able to land all of your spells. Overall, your main objective is to farm mid and support your jungle with ganks . Gragas has very high mobility ,put it to use. Playing early game as gragas, always depends on the enemy jungler and ally jungle. If you're playing against a strong jungler like; [imgsmall=champ/rammus.png][imgsmall=champ/shaco.png][imgsmall=champ/leesin.png][imgsmall=champ/twitch.png] DO NOT OVER EXTEND until you go back to base and purchase wards for both sides of river. If you only ward one side of the river, stay closer to that side... so you'll have more time to get to your tower. If you're playing against a weak early game jungle like ; [imgsmall=champ/warwick.png][imgsmall=champ/amumu.png][imgsmall=champ/nocturne.png] - push and farm as much as you want , but always be cautious of being ganked still. Pushing your lane will open up opportunities for ganking the enemy jungler, ganking top and ganking bottom. When your team is strong enough to do dragon, your objective is to poke down the enemy solo, in order to open up opportunities for a safe dragon without any contest.

Mid Game on Gragas is still like " FARM ALL DAY, dont give a f". Basically, you have a couple objectives; Rules: 1) Blue Golem 2) Push Your Lane and Farm 3) Farm Wraiths ( Enemy and Ally Wraiths) 4) Pull off Ganks when your lane is pushed. 5) Only push, when you're safe from ganks. 6) Only gank when you're not able to farm. 7) When Dragon is up, poke the enemy - make them lower , so you would have an advantage if you guys fought for dragon. Blue golem is essential on Gragas because of his super strong poke. Blue Golem helps him spam spells forever and lowers his cooldowns for all spells. A good time to push is when you've acquired deathcap and blue golem. Without a healer, the other team has no way of protecting against a gragas poke and will eventually lose tower. Your goal is to group as a team and push , when you've reached the golem and deathcap level. Absolutely take advantage of this situation when the opposing team does not have heals. If your team is not epic fail, you should win 100 % of your games against a non healer team. 2) Only Push your lane if the opposing jungler is weaker than your own or their wraiths are up and available to steal. Always push your lane when you're about to dragon, buffs, or any map objective. Always look for farm, however keep in mind that you need to have enough mana to body slam away or through walls at all times. Do not ever go to 0 mana unless you're completely safe from all possible ganks.

Playing as Gragas late game is all about doing good barrel rolls and using your Explosive Cask effectively. You never want to go in and use body slam on the enemies... unless it is a small engagement. In a 5v5 situation, you should never use body slam until the fight dies down and the number of enemy champions reduce till like 2 or 3 champions left. * unless the situation allows you to body slam in, without being punished for it. Generally you should be focused down late game, when you body slam in. You can easily burst targets down with your explosive cask and barrel roll combo. I usually aim to land this combo on the enemy AD carry, AP carry or solely aim for the numbers of champions I hit. Playing Gragas is all situational, and you'll learn most things by just playing him.

As I said before... it takes a lot of time to learn how to play gragas well. His abilities are used differently in each situation and it takes a lot of time to learn. Gragas is a very strong champion when used correctly and can win a team fight all by himself with one good ultimate. I think gragas is a very fun champion and I hope my guide was useful.
