Blitzcrank is a champion which will be very strong in the upcoming months due to the fact that Riot is nerfing sustain in the bottom lane. And the less sustain = the more powerful Blitzcrank and other kill lanes become. His CC, zoning ability and grab make him a fantastic addition to your team. Who am i? I run on three different account on EUW server playing mostly Blitzcrank on each on them. 60-65 Win% on all of them. AntonM on EUW, currently sitting at Diamond Tier 1.

Blitzcrank is in my opinion the best support without sustain. However due to his skillcap he is almost never picked in tournament play. He is a big risk but offers amazing rewards if played right. In this guide im giving you my thoughts on how to play him against current metagame in the bottom lane. Please note that my view on him is slightly different than other high elo Blitzcrank players like XL Winner and Sypher Lounet. [title]Pros[/title] - Strong in every phase of the game - Best single initiation move in-game - 1 hook can change the game - Insane lockdown and disruption CC - Champion with the most limited and rare skins - Annoying champion to play against [title]Cons[/title] - His earlygame is not that good anymore - No sustain = You are reliant on burst - If he is annoying champion to play against, annoying champions counter him aswell - One trick pony, if you cant land the hooks you are useless - Whatever you grab, becomes the focus of your team. If you pull a tank your team WILL use their cooldown(s) on "wrong" target. If you can hook somebody it doesnt mean you should! If you dont want to look down then here is quick rundowm on Counters / Who Blitz counters. Counters to Blitz - Escapes / Block spells / Mobility = Annoying champions AND Spellshields like Morganas shield / Sivirs shield / Nocturnes shield / Banshees Veil [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] / Yorick Ghouls. Long range poke lanes like [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png]+[imgsmall=champ/lulu.png] make Blitzcrank feel quite useless for first 10 minutes unless you get a max range hook between some creeps. Blitz counters - Squishy targets like [imgsmall=champ/janna.png] / Champions with little natural escapes

In the latest update i found that (1/11/18) works really well, the lowered cooldown on active items really does make a difference. The ward mastery which gives extra vision for first few seconds is made for teamfights in clutch places like Dragon or Baron. I dont feel like posting pictures of alternative runepages is necessary now, rather stick with 1 combo of runes/masteries which you can see in the beginning of the guide.

With the new stats Blitzcrank feels very very useless, have to make the stats feel like before but this will cost you some armor / magic resist. Thankfully Blitzcrank has scaling ratios per lvl on both so its not the end of the world. No need to post pictures anymore of different runepages since this is becoming the only option atleast for me. -60 mana and higher manacost on grab is just a massive nerf. You can use flat HP / Flat Armor / Magic resist quints if you feel like Blitz is squishy now.

Due to newest update i do not recommend using heal unless you want to sit under turret (Feb. 2013) [imgsmall=summoners/exhaust.png][imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png] If your AD carry wants to pick Heal or Barrier then you can still go with these two, remember to pick that 1 point in offence tree though. Ignite + Barrier at this moment the best option for bottom lane for maximum dmg/survivability. [imgsmall=summoners/exhaust.png][imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] Still a great choice, but gets badly countered by [imgsmall=summoners/barrier.png][imgsmall=summoners/heal.png] enemy bottomlanes or if they run [imgsmall=summoners/cleanse.png]. [imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png][imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] Against lanes with Heal summoner spell or healers like Soraka / Nami / Sona. Ignite is also very good for big burst, so this setup is really good against supports who like to run Heal quints to make them survive for longer. [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png][imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] Clairvoyance is starting to lose its viability almost completely with the introduction of Sightstones but dont let that fool you, it is still great to spot enemy junglers and specifically secure the knowledge of his location if you have good map coverage already.

[title][img=skills/blitzcrank/p.png] Passive: Mana Barrier[/title] [number]When Blitzcrank life is brought below 20% health he activates Mana Barrier. Mana Barrier can only occur once per minute. This creates a mana shield with 50% of his mana, lasts 10 seconds and refunds any unspent mana.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] An amazing passive, it has saved me multiple times and will save you aswell. However do not rely on it as the mana shield comes from available mana. [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/q.png] Q: Rocket Grab[/title] [number]Blitzcrank fires his right hand, if it encounters an enemy unit it will stun them and deal 80/135/190/245/300 (+100% of ability power) magic damage while he pulls them to himself. Cooldown 22 / 21 / 20 / 19 / 18 seconds Cost 110 mana Range 10000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Bread and Butter. In my opinion the best single ability in this game. It is overpowered but comes with a con as you will be (semi)useless if you fail to land it. [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/w.png] W: Overdrive[/title] [number]Blitzcrank super charges himself to increase Movement Speed by 16 / 20 / 24 / 28 / 32% and attack speed by 30 / 38 / 46 / 54 / 62% for 8 seconds. However, when this effect ends his movement speed is decreased by 25% for 3 seconds. Cooldown 22seconds Cost 90mana Range 1[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] After they removed the slowdown effect on it, this skill became perfect, you get nice stats to chase / escape / mess up enemies positioning. All around an excellent skill. [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/e.png] E: Power Fist[/title] [number]Blitzcrank charges up his fist to make his next attack deal double his total attack damage and pop his target up in the air. Cooldown 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5seconds Cost 25mana Range 300[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A skill which effect cannot be recuded by CC-reduction items? Perfect. It contributes to the fact that Blitzcrank locks down people with ease on low cooldown. [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/r.png] R: Static Field[/title] [number]Passive: Lightning arcs off of Blitzcrank to hit a random nearby enemy for 100 / 200 / 300 (+25% of ability power) magic damage every 2.5 seconds. Active: Deals 250 / 375 / 500 (+100% of ability power) and silences surrounding enemy units for 0.5 seconds. The passive is not in effect during the cooldown. Cooldown 40seconds Cost 150mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] What more can i say? You can counter multiple champions with this ability like Katarina / Fiddlesticks / Miss Fortune. Every skill Blitzcrank has feels very useful and you wont feel "AFK" in battlegrounds like somebody such as Taric who just does his burst and is useless for a few seconds.

R -> Q -> W -> E You need all the burst you can get and if you fail your hook the whole situation will probably fail anyway. *** Update 30.10.12 *** Since the poke / teamfight support meta has almost completely vanished the option of maxing R -> W -> Q -> E is completely viable and even preferred against supports like Alistar and Leona which are just as strong burst/power wise with you especially in the laning phase. Having W first is better after laning phase anyway, this aggressive support in bottomlane - meta wasnt here yet few months ago. *24.12.12* - Q -> W -> E is the order to use in season 3.

I put the item build in a really simple way in the Summary but thats basically how i think of it when im thinking what to buy next / how to counter possibly fed enemies. Now, i want to make few additional points to that. You can change your boots -> 2nd best option in my opinion would be the [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] for CC reduction and magic resist. If your jungler is getting [img=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] you can skip it and go straight for [img=items/locket-of-the-iron-solari.png] for the complete set. Locket is a very underrated item, it works against any type of damage so why not use it for extra durability? But basically i dont want to repeat myself again. Item build in the top of this guide is basically how i think of the ways to counter enemy / boost our guys incase they are fed.

Here i will talk about the bottom lane. In my opinion, Blitzcrank is like Riven in top at this moment = stronk. TL;DR on relevant AD CARRIES in 1-2-3 Order. Best with Blitz - Graves / MF / Tristana Best against Blitz - Sivir / Urgot / Ezreal Blitz likes to play against - Vayne / Kogmaw / Twitch TL;DR on relevant SUPPORTS in 1-2-3 Order. Blitz has good time against - Janna / Sona / Soraka Blitz has bad time against - Alistar / Nunu / Leona Blitz wants to face - Squishy supports [title] AD CARRIES[/title] [img=champ/ashe.png] - With you - Ashe is weakish pre-6 but when you ding 6 your lane becomes much scarier especially if your jungler comes to give you a hand. Looks good on paper but in reality not so good since Ashe wants to farm and you want to kill. - Against you - She can poke and kite, thats about it. You have a clear upperhand early game against her so use it. Her kite isnt as powerful early as it is late so you can force engage on her when you get your W. Be careful of Ashe + Nunu combo though, very scary. [img=champ/caitlyn.png] - With you - Grab n Trap combination, its good and you have great earlygame together. However thats all you will get with Caitlyn. I mean it works but even though you can get yourself a significant lead early game it doesnt translate to the later parts in the game. - Against you - Range, Poke, Escape. Thats three things Blitzcrank hates, however since youre Blitzcrank you can rush her. Caitlyn is not too viable later unless she has Nunu by her side. [img=champ/corki.png] - With you - Safe choice, has nice poke and different types of damage. He lacks in CC but is a strong lane partner with you. - Against you - He has the poke as mentioned, along with a nice escape he can do some harm. However you can grab him (like any other AD carry with escape except ezreal) mid-air. With the right timing and focus you will win the lane without big problems. [img=champ/draven.png] (NEW) - With you - This guy is literally one man army, he is good with almost any support and has a mobility skill as an escape (No dash though). However the Draven needs to know how to use his Bouncing blades rolling if you want to use Blitzcrank with him. Draven does deal a ton of damage and this combination has good synergy and i have had good success with it. - Against you - He has alot of damage, but fortunately for you there arent that many of them who can keep their damage output maxed with the rolling blades. A skilled Draven is a nightmare matchup for you especially if he has a Leona or Taric by his side. [img=champ/ezreal.png] - With you - If you both run the football skins its won game already free elo. He has excellent early game with nice poke, however he lacks CC and Blitzcrank loves additional CC whether its utility or hard CC. Decent and a viable pick anyway. - Against you - Sucks to be you dude, a SKILLED one can poke you down like no other behind your grabs range. Its going to be quite neutral lane unless your AD wants to take some risks. His escape denies your grab which means he can escape even while you grab him. [img=champ/graves.png] - With you - Best combination. Similar cooldowns, amazing utility with smokescreen + passive and amazing burst = The best lane partner with Blitz BY FAR. Use this to stomp soloQ - Against you - Tough matchup really, its hard to own the dude in lane. You need some support from jungle if you want to snowball the lane in your favor. [img=champ/kogmaw.png] - With you - Has subpar early game but has his uses too. There are better supports to go with Kog even though he is one of the best late game carries in this game. - Against you - He is weak early, use it to your advantage. He cant poke you if you are in his face. [img=champ/missfortune.png] - With you - Burst + Poke is really good. My 2nd favourite choice with Blitzcrank. Her only problem is that she doesnt have a straight escape and lack of hard CC but makes up with the damage she has. Great synergy. - Against you - If she is good with you, she is also good against you. Her poke is good, has good steroids (Bouncy shot really annoying) to keep you away. Its going to be a tough lane. If she is only one using channeling in their team use silence or one of your hard CC's to interrups her in teamfights. If you are having trouble, call the jungler. [img=champ/sivir.png] - With you - Solid pick, has nice poke and Blitz can mess up enemies positioning so Sivir gets a straight line for boomerang. Great mobility from ult. - Against you - Man the shield sucks, if you are up against a good sivir she will either banshee the grab or the knockup depending on situation. She is really tough to play against but if your AD carry gets to pop the shield before you do your thing, you should be fine. Careful with the boomerang. [img=champ/tristana.png] - With you - My 3rd favourite AD to play with, She has great early game with all the burst and no need for flash which is great because extra ignite or exhaust is really nice. Nice escape to escape surprise ganks. - Against you - She has some damage but she has to jump in to get big damage done in lane. You can grab her mid-air too. Her low range early is good for you. The lane should go in your favor, kit wise. [img=champ/twitch.png] - The remake made him a really good AD. Enemy will be forced to use their cooldowns on you while you try to engage on their AD carry and twitch goes invisible, good poke and nice range. Reworked twitch is also really good in teamfights with his extremely long ranged ultimate. - Against you - Hey look, a free kill. He is too squishy to be laning against you. Good for you because his poke is very nice and chances are you wont get to him in teamfights. [img=champ/urgot.png] - With you - Is solid, you are both tanky and can withstand ganks and longer fights, his only problem is range but makes up with his abilities range quite well. You dont want to play this in soloq, premades are ok with this comp. - Against you - He wouldnt be a problem to you without the shield, you cant kill the guy in lane because of that ridiculous build what goes for him. [img=champ/varus.png] - With you - His slowing rain aoe heal reduction skill is a great way to setup a W-E-Q combo to make enemies burn summoners or think twice before trying to be near you again. He has great CC, nice poke but his lack of escape requires you to ward more than usually, have two wards up (Tri / River / Enemy lane brush) at all times if you want to play with a champion with no escapes and ask the jungler to ward River or Mid to ward wraiths if it is needed. - Against you - He has fantastic poke and can frustrate you with his utility, however his lack of escape makes him an easier target to rush. However, if he is with Taric i recommend playing something else than Blitzcrank. [img=champ/vayne.png] - With you - She isnt the best AD carry early but if you play passively and manage to land a hook under turret it should be a kill because the target stays there from Vaynes push. Play carefully if you want to play this combination or you are screwed. Recommend using Flash / Exhaust with this lane instead of Ignite. - Against you - She is weak early and you should take full advantage of that. There is no chance she can do anything against you in lane unless they call the jungler. [title] SUPPORTS[/title] [img=champ/alistar.png] - He forces quite a passive lane and can protect the carry, you lose exchanges in lane and if you pull him in teamfights its pretty much the same as pulling an Amumu. Call the jungler or AP Mid if you want to get kills here. + He is stronger in lane, but you are stronger Later. [img=champ/janna.png] - Queen of teamfights and clutch saves + You are her hard counter. Thanks all the Jannas for giving free elo. You have everything a Janna doesnt want the enemy support to have against her. However, be careful of her poke. If you mess up a hook you (your ad to be exact) are going to have a bad time atleast for a short moment. *** 30.10.12 Note - She isnt used at all anymore, it does suck a bit but lets hope they buff her soon so you can be back on stomping ways. [img=champ/leona.png] - She is really aggressive, however so are you. Skilled Leona sticks to you like superglue which sucks. Try to get her to focus you, crystalline flask will help you out alot in this. + You have to push the pace from the very beginning. This lane is somewhat even in lvl 1/2 so if you manage to push them hard early the lane will become much easier because Leona is not a good defensive support at all, they will rely on their jungler very much because they cant clear the pressure away. Pushing the lane very early is important against Leona. [img=champ/lulu.png] - She has big poke and the dog skill. Her ult saves the AD carry from guaranteed kills. Her range is good so timing and positioning is important, be ready to use your skills before her otherwise she will poke you for free with her insane range. + She is squishy and doesnt have an actual heal. You can burst her down with ease once you get your hands on her. [img=champ/morgana.png] - If you ever meet a morgana support ask for a lane change, she is the worst thing that could happen to a Blitzcrank + None whatsoever, some Korean teams use Morg support to specifically counter Blitzcrank. [img=champ/nami.png] - She has some poke, very similar to janna. She can make her AD deal quite some damage if you arent careful. Do not underestimate her though, she can trade really well with her poke+heal combination. If more players understand how to play her i think she can be one of the strongest supports there are. + Auto attack poke reliant champion, she needs to get in range and doesnt have any backups like Zyra (her Plants) to block the grabs. I feel she is very skill reliant, definitely one of the easier matchups for Blitzcrank, especially with [imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png] [img=champ/nautilus.png] - He has similar kit to yours and actually deals more damage with all his skills combined (Burst-wise) His ultimate is very good to lock down a certain carry, if you dont like Blitz i recommend trying Nautilus support instead. + Fortunately his downfall is his cooldowns, his Shield (W) and Ultimate are on really long cooldowns so you win 2v2's on a long run if you happen to fight alot, its a very very fun lane. [img=champ/nunu.png] - Really annoying, he keeps you / your carry on his debuff and can sit basically at the end of his brush taking XP while his AD carry enjoys the buff. If Nunu maxes his Snowball (MF+Nunu lane for example) then you will most likely lose every trade. + In a 2v2 you are stronger because you have more dmg pre-6 and can interrupt his ult in many ways post-6. Nunu is usually good against kill lanes, but with all these potions in S3 you can rush in much easier and fight pretty much any lane. Blitzcrank is the best support for longer teamfights. [img=champ/sona.png] - Great poke. If you get outplayed early, she will keep you in the zoned area for a good period. + Squishy, really squishy actually. Easy to burst down, she can stay behind creeps though and keep more distance than most supports because her auras have great range. Do not let that fool you though, she has just enough range to stay behind creeps and deal some damage to you especially if you miss the hook. 1 hook missed = 15-20 seconds of free poke so be careful. [img=champ/soraka.png] - You dont want to have passive lane against this unicorn, she will end up being much more useful to her team if you want to AFK farm. + She cant do anything against you except throw bananas at lvl 1. Thats about it really, the silence doesnt affect you since they are going to be running for longer than 2 seconds when you initiate bot. [img=champ/taric.png] - He is stronger in the later parts of laning phase when the armor buff starts to take effect. + He cant do anything to you. AFK farm is ok against this dude. You are much more useful later. However, very early on you have more dmg output, rush in for their AD carry before both teams have their ultimates on and you should win trades. [img=champ/thresh.png] *NEW* - This guy is significantly better version of you in lane, he is tanky, is ranged and has much more annoying version of the hook since it stuns you and drags you really slowly allowing the enemy (AD in botlane) to put free hits on you. + His only downfall is his ultimate cooldown, once up every 2.5 minutes you can fight him after 6 all day and not worry too much about his damage, even though when his ultimate is up the 99% slow is extremely annoying. You lose pre-6 but win post-6 if you fight him again after the first lvl 6 fight has been done. Your hook is also much better and gamechanging when the laning phase starts to come to its end. [img=champ/zyra.png] - Another poke champion against you, she has the range, the CC, poke and the ultimate to keep you at a certan distance, you need to have a burst combo like Blitz / Graves if you want to maker her useless. Her post-death passive is annoying too so be careful of Kogmaw / Zyra combination because this will be one of their plans to get you killed. The fact that she has backup plan even if you get a clear path to hook makes her really good pick against Blitz. Her plants block the grab and she can spam plants all game. + Really squishy and runs out of mana if you force fights early. You have to force them very early on and not let her poke you with her E / Autoattacks.

I'd say im quite experienced with the champions with closer to 2000 games played now overall so i have few things to point out first. 1. If you dont feel confident, do not play Blitzcrank 2. DO NOT USE the line missile display, i rather have the full circle telling me range of the hook in every direction and its great especially if you decide to "juke hook" (Switch target on the fly) 3. Positioning is important. You need to have a clear line between you and the target 4. The hook is slightly on the right, this becomes very handy in the laning phase as you can grab halfway through a creep due to this. 5. Do not use smartcast, should be pretty much self explanatory as i like to observe the range and possibilities of the situation for an extended period of time rather than just going for the kill instantly. The less space enemy has = better probability of landing a hook. This will be important in laning phase as you have great ability to zone the enemy. Switching target on the fly is basically running towards an enemy but hooking completely different person on purpose. This happens alot in the bottom lane and will give enemy a panic attack. The logical way to get a grab (or a kill) is to bullrush enemy with your W + E combination making them burn an escape ability like [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] and get a much easier opportunity to hook afterwards. If you have managed to push enemy under their turret, few options become available. As i said they have no space to move around and few tips against champions with dashes are simple. Short dashes - Difficulty to grab under their turret - Easy Champions with short dashes - [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png] [imgsmall=champ/graves.png] [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png] Caitlyn is the only annoying one from these as she has a slow which makes your job a little harder. So basically you do not aim towards them but a little bit to towards the direction of the creep wave (middle of the lane). A smart AD player just stops on the spot or moves a little bit down but you can ask your ad carry to poke them a little bit to see what kind of movement the enemy AD carry / Support do when put under pressure. Blitzcrank can also bait an escape when he charges his E + W beforehand and trying to fake a grab. Its hard to fake one in high elo as the hook projectile speed is not the fastest. Champions with medium dashes 1 - [imgsmall=champ/tristana.png] [imgsmall=champ/corki.png] - Medium These ones are a bit trickier but you follow the same standard as in previous example. The best thing about these two is that you can grab them mid-air which makes the grabbing itself quite easy as you can see the path of the jump itself. Please note that these two are hard to push back so you might want to have a little bit of pressure against them but not pushing them to the turret. Yes this does freeze the lane in their favor but there is much less chances for them to escape a hook. Just ward the river and ask your jungler / mid to ward own wraiths for full safety. Since you push alot there will be a good amount of creeps to block enemies (jungler) incase they want to rush a lanegank. However even though you can time these two mid-air there is a bug if they time their jump in the very correct time they will manage to escape (You grab but they jump simultaneously) The situation im describing is to forcing them to jump and grabbing afterwards. Champions with medium dashes 2 - [imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png] - Very hard Unbelievable. He has an instant dash which means you cant catch him mid - air or anywhere in the laning phase. Its so very very very frustrating thing to see when you are against a skilled Ezreal. You dont see many Ezreals around though because no CC and lackluster Late game which gives you a brief relief. But seriously it makes me cringe when i see an Ezreal on the enemy team with a Heal on his hand. If he is with something like Nunu or Alistar / Leona then you are going to have a bad time. If there is a guy who plays a ton of Ezreal (especially in premade games) then i advise banning the champion. Champions with no dashes - [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png] [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png] [imgsmall=champ/missfortune.png] [imgsmall=champ/sivir.png] [imgsmall=champ/twitch.png] [imgsmall=champ/urgot.png] - Easy to Hard Basically the champions with no escape / weak earlygame are like statues, you will burn their summoners with ease especially early game. But champions with great spell range like MF or Tankiness like Urgot make you think twice on grabbing and rather just focusing their support down instead (if the support happens to be a squishy one, otherwise its almost inevitable AFK farm for unknown period of time) This applies to other champions too with different dashes / escapes / etc. to get away. One more thing, i recommend trying out blind pull every once in a while especially at FB or when youre killing dragon in the pit, i have gotten few free kills that way and securing our lead even further. The area where most of my games are decided (via hook) is the Middle brushes / Baron / Blue buff area. The big wall between enemy turret / or the small one on other side has decided me multiple games. For some reason so many people move in that area which is great (to the Blitz and his team ) since you can even grab a tank because their team will be too late to save him out. Its hard to explain like this i might put up a video if there is huge demand or keep a short lesson about it on stream. Its likely to be with "bad" quality if my brother wont loan his CYBER3000 pr0 edition PC for a few hours. Video tutorial is better i know.

Update S3. The new season allows you to fight 2v2 continously and force fights on your own terms as you should initiate with the hook so they follow up. Blitzcrank excels at very long fights so items like crystalline flask and biscuit are very welcomed in this game. Its quite fun now too, no more sitting around waiting for an opportunity to hook, just try to rush in or make a nice hook happen and spam the button which triggers the 3 charges of the flask and win fights! Supports timelines. Early game 1-10 min Mid game 10-25 min Late game 25 min onwards You have two options early game. Play aggressively OR Play passively There is no midline for Blitzcrank because you dont want to trade hits especially with healing / shielding supports since you lose most of the trades that occur 2v2. If you want to play aggressive you begin with [img=items/boots-of-speed.png] + [img=items/sight-ward2.png] If you want to play passive then i recommend the alternative start (quicker way to gp10) Aggressive playstyle means you want to deny enemy from XP/Gold and in Blitzcranks case it is to give enemy less space to move around. The less space enemy has for movement = the more likely you can set up nice hooks. Blitzcrank is in my opinion the very best support for lvl 2 - 3 fights as the dmg multipliers from W and E come in very handy. Also the summoner spells minimize the effects of possible enemy heals. Blitzcrank is a very scary dude and is very annoying to play against so to annoy people even more you can do the thing i call "bunnyhopping" so you just keep rushing out/in/out/in/out/in the brush you want to be in, or from even situation you can do the same from your own brush giving them vision/no vision/vision/no vision situation. Passive playstyle means you help your ad to farm under turret. It is basically being an opportunist. The downside of this is that your AD will get zoned out with poking combinations like Corki / Soraka. But then again if you manage to land a hook its a sure kill. You get much less chances to do a hook with Passive playstyle.

If you have a succesful early game, i recommend roaming. Blitzcrank has probably the best ganks in this game and you will pop multiple summoners if you choose to do roaming. What you need for roaming [img=items/boots-of-mobility.png] OR [imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png] Also, your AD carry must be significantly ahead so he can play 1v2 in the bot either Offensively or Defensively. Significant lead is around 1-3 kills lead and 20-40CS advantage in your AD's favour. Do not throw the grab first, always try to get close with your W -> E combo, it is much more safe. However if the enemy is just really too far away you can try your luck with the hook OR if you feel desperate then Flash + hook and be a god if you succeed. Laning is very similar to your early game. But usually at this time both teams are becoming more equipped so you might need junglers help with all the possible vision around for the enemy. You still have the advantage though. At this point of the game the sustain champions like Soraka can outheal your burst so additional help from your team might come in handy. Early teamfights are great, i love them. Blitzcrank plays very big role in this by messing up with enemies movement. If you picked up the Mobility boots you can try weaving around in lane back and forth and just see how the enemy repositions itself so they can avoid the hook. In premades this doesnt always work but in soloQ it does and you can get their squishy champion(s) into your team with creating "space" like that.

If you havent roamed yet it is your time to do so, Blitzcrank is an excellent ganker and your team will benefit greatly from another aggressive player. In lategame you want to have wards up on Baron / Dragon / Atleast one of the enemy buffs to have enough eyesight of enemys movement. Keep buying Oracles and wards. If you cannot afford oracles then [img=items/vision-ward.png] are an excellent choice. The less vision enemy has the more hesitant they become and make blind movement which means you Your job in teamfights is to initiate that that is one of the reasons why i pick Mobility boots over other boots. Youre a one trick pony so use it to your full advantage. The downside of this is that you will be slightly less tanky but will chase / escape fleeing or chasing enemies with much better efficiency. Stick to their carries and never give up as Blitzcrank because one hook can change it all. For better or for worse. If they have a champion with Channeling ultimate like Fiddlesticks or Galio your focus must be on HIM FOR THE WHOLE TEAMFIGHT because you can interrupt them completely and thus making their damage output much smaller. You have excellent carry protection ability and sometimes you can protect two carries simultaneously. Basically you can keep knocking up the most trouble dealing enemies AND hook them out of your carry at the same time. Thats about how it goes for Blitz in teamfights. With tanky build you can work as a meatshield aswell. In chasing situation incase its a close ranged chase do not pop your ulti instantly but let the passive of it do its job for a good while before you do use it. However if there are 5 dudes on the radius just pop it and see them crying because Blitzrank has amazing base damage on his skills. Teamfights in a nutshell 1. Preparation with warding coverage and destroying enemy wards 2. Crazy movement to mess up enemies positioning 3. Protect your carries, sometimes you can protect two simutaneously 4. Youre a tanky guy, dont be afraid of getting hit

I summarize what things you can do as Blitz during the game. REMEMBER THE TIMERS 3 min Wards 5 min Blue buff 5 min Red buff 6 min Dragon 7 min Baron [title][center]Early game[/center][/title] - Aggressive - Blitzcrank creates pressure just by being present in the lane - If you start with boots you ward dragon twice - If you start with faerie you can ward 2 spots at the same time - Reposition yourself constantly, do not sit in the brush 24/7 like many other supports do. It works but not on Blitzcrank. - Support makes all the calls in the bottom lane, AD carry follows you. - Have your gold/10 items ready by 15-18 minute mark. - You can start early roaming with potential oracle incase you get early kills / huge advantage early game. [title][center]Mid game[/center][/title] - Your job is to get few Vision wards to cover the dragon area. From my experience who removes the first pinkward -> Wins the ward battle between supports. - Remember the timers, watch the minimap when their jungler comes to visible area with "fresh" Lizard or Mid with "fresh" Golem. - Let jungler take over the team leader spot to make the calls. - Start roaming now if your laning phase wasnt so good. [title][center]Late game[/center][/title] - Keep the oracle up, if not then ward the corners of different pits / dont ward obvious spots but near them. - Ward, ward, ward - Your hook can change the game, remember to hook the appropriate target, avoid their tanks. - Excellent carry protection, with good focus double protection with your abilities. [title][center]Why mobility boots? Why Swiftness boots? [/center][/title] - Blitzcrank can affect enemy mentally, he is really annoying and how much more annoying he is with x5 boots? Very much. You can try it yourself by just weaving around in lane in neutral situation and notice how enemy repositions itself. Thats how you can generate few opportunities to catch their squishies. Swiftness boots got themselves a nice buff for this season, 25% less effects on slows is really nice against extremely annoying poke champions and you will have 3x MS boost up all the time.
