[title]Why it Works[/title] Kayle support is a highly adaptable support champion. Her ultimate is clutch for turning around teamfights, and she provides excellent sustain in lane. Kayle's passive enables her to shred resists of targeted enemies, and her kit is overall very adaptable. Kayle is capable of being both offensive and passive in lane, and carries great impact on a teamfight in the endgame. Pros: [.]Nice sustain and speedboost. [.]Slow and resist shred. [.]AWESOME ultimate that can help tower dive and other things. [.]Can become ranged: Kayle can proc pickpocket (see masteries) very often. . [.]Only costs 450 IP! It's not a big investment for new players to purchase Kayle. [.]Synergizes well with apc's that have spell vamp Cons: [.]Can be squishy during early game. [.]Your allies might force you to go mid or top. [.]Kayle tends to push lane sometimes. [.]Kayle's level one isn't the strongest, it is strong but not a crucial factor in invades at lvl 1 like [imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png] is. [.]Kayle is heavily reliant on a good adc. [.]No cc that can prevent baron steals: your slow will not prevent them from smite stealing, and she has no hard cc in general. This is my first guide so any feedback would be nice. Enjoy! Written by: checkmater75.

[title]Aren't the Typical Champions Better?[/title] Not necessarily. Remember that the priority of a good support champion is basically: Sustain->CC->Poke->Burst Kayle has great sustain, with her W and her R (sustain can be heals OR dmg prevention), a highly unique ultimate(more explanation later), and moderately high dmg in lane. She also is pseudo ranged, so she can proc pickpocket easily. [title]Things Kayle Has that no other Support has[/title] [.]Shreds on both types of resists (this enables you to build items like wit's end if you want) [.]Invulnerability [.]Heals and speed boosts on one champion: The more mobility, the better for your ADC [.]Excellent Synergy with apc's that have spell vamp: they can resustain themselves after diving into the enemy team while your ult is active (IE Fiddle, Ahri, Soraka(sorta)) [.]Instantaneous autoatks: gives your autoatking more precision on things like kills (making sure you don't ks) and just gives you an advantage in trades.

For Kayle's runes, I take armor and mr/lvl for defense. I also take gold/10 quints to increase my gold income. The armor helps to trade vs the enemy adc and the gold per time is almost mandatory to any support. Some variations include taking gold over time seals, atkspeed reds, and taking ms quints. For more early game damage you can take flat damage marks for better trading.

You will want to get a point in each of Q W and E by level 3. The order you get those can vary. E at lvl 1 is better in lane for harass, but get Q if you need to catch someone or you are getting a level one gank. Get W at level 2 if you or your adc are low, but get Q or E (whichever one you didn't get at lvl 1) if you're going for an offensive lane at level 2. (For Example, you're going for first blood at lvl 2 cuz u got double golems). If nothing goes out of the ordinary at lvl 1 your first three levels will be: E->Q->W or E->W->Q [title] Passive: Holy Fervor[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is the reason you may want to build a lot of atk spd and one of the cores of Kayle. This, mixed with your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png], and allows you to shred the resists of enemies and is strongly useful to your team. [title] Q: Reckoning[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] An excellent spell for top or mid kayle, this spell is still very useful for support Kayle. The 35% (if I remember correctly) slow is a strong utility spell, for escaping or chasing. Now that they have changed Kayle's Q to nerf mid/top laners, it has buffed Kayle support: it now applies her passive. I max this last because the slow is not affected by the level it is ranked and because the mana cost increases per level. Keep in mind that the missile speed is relatively slow, so don't be surprised when the red orb animation thingy moves pretty slowly. [title] W: Divine Blessing[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] A heal and a speedup. Remember to use at all times you can, and to use it on your initiator if needed. It's no [imgsmall=skills/soraka/w.png], but it's very effective. I max this first for extra heal and more speedup. [title] E: Righteous Fury[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Makes your autoatks ranged, gives them AOE, and adds extra magic damage. Excellent for trading and proc'ing your resistance shred passive. I max this second for extra damage and more AOE. NOTE: This will push your lane if you aoe the minions. [title] R: Intervention[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] The most annoying spell of League of Legends and the "WHAT THE ****" moment for assassins. As the Kayle Champion Spotlight says, use this to nullify damage and to save allies. You WILL and I mean you WIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLL be blamed for not saving your adc if you forget or can't use this in time. Remember that the cd (esp with the cdr ur building) will be low so don't try to save it for the last second. Always use it if an ally is about to die, or is being focused heavily. Max this as you get it for the lower cooldowns and for longer invulnerability.

Get one point in W, E, and Q at lvl 3 and then the maxing order is: R>W>E>Q >>> Maxing E first can work if you're owning in lane, but usually max W is the way to go.

[title]Explantions[/title] : This item will give you more wards and extra hp. A good choice to get because it really is nice. The fact that you have 5 charges means SITUATIONAL warding. For example, let's imaging you had 3 wards, and no sighstone. You're pushed in base, and you have to ward your own jungle 3 times. Then, your team gets 4 kills and wants to contest baron. To prevent a steal, you NEED to ward, but.... you have no wards. If you had had a sighstone, you could sacrifice the wards you don't need anymore in your own jungle to prevent a steal. : Helps with your passive procs and your damage output(you still DO do damage). : If you've been roaming a lot. Sell in late game, unless you feel really comfortable with ms5 boots. : If the enemies have lots of slows. : More cdr if u're not maxed out on cdr with your items. : Good if your team have a good initiate that is melee range. For example: Malphite, Amumu, Wukong, Garen, and etc. : If your team needs good initiation/deinitiation. Almost mandatory in all situations : Good against enemy aoe comps, gives you more tanky-ness, helps with your allies's resists. Blade of the ruined king is to ADC's as Locket of the Iron Solari is to tanks. : Slows. : Against multiple AD's. : A neat item since it's rework because it gives you alot of hp while giving slows. : I don't like this on Kayle, because you have no high-cooldown spells for the procs. : Tell your adc not to get a [imgsmall=items/mercurial-scimitar.png] if you are proficient with this item. This is like heal+cleanse in one. : Good for early-game dive comps. Seems like a really meh item to me. : Good against multiple AD's, plus an AOE slow. : Better initiate/deinitiate. : Good if your team has lots of AD's : If enemies are stacking MR/your team has lots of ap and no one has built it. : Nice if your team is doing really well. Helps your AD's thanks to the armor shred, but is not viable for you if your team already has/is planning to get one. : Since it's rework, it now STEALS mr. An execellent item if you are a backline/atkspeed kayle support. [title]Other Potential Starting Items[/title] [imgsmall=items/dagger.png][imgsmall=items/health-potion.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] This is good if you want to be offensive/the enemy jungle won't be threatening. [imgsmall=items/crystalline-flask.png] and pots/wards.:Gives lots of extra early game sustain for yourself. Good for anti-high-sustain. For example, Soraka. [title]When to get boots[/title] Get boots earlier if: [.]Laning phase has ended, [.]You are doing a roaming comp, [.]The lane enemies have lots of skillshots. (IE Zyra, Ezreal, etc.) Get boots later if: [.]The enemies have little "catch" (for example they have no Ryze) and there's better items to finish. [.]You backed, and have exactly 350 gold. Don't prioritize boots over buying wards.

In teamfights, your job is to protect your adc, and help your allies. Be sure to consistently heal and use your Q. Keep shredding resists of whatever your apc/adc's are attacking. Your ultimate should be used on whoever gets focused, and be sure to NOT FORGET YOUR ITEM ACTIVES. THIs IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Additionally, don't wait to use your ultimate until the last second... rather use your ultimate to NEGATE damage. It's not a trynd ult or a zilean ult. It blocks DAMAGE so don't wait until the last second.

Kayle plays well with champions whose damage is not based on true damage, because she enjoys amplifying the damage of allies. She works well with champions that have resistance shreds of their own. She also works well with champions that are meant to be squishy-jump-into-the-enemy-team and do massive aoe/assassinate the adc. The presence of Kayle on the team means these champs can build less tanky and more squishy. Note: This is just a reference for -NEW PLAYERS-/-Having played for a long time players who have not experienced every single champ- so they can read the directions of these champs specifically. Skip this chapter and the next one if you know every champ relatively well. [title]Jump Into The Enemy Team Champions[/title] Note that Jarvans usually don't build squishy, but they can, especially with Kayle on the team. Your ult gives Karthus even more time to do massive aoe damage and slow everyone, and helps him position for his passive. He tends to get focused once he uses his [imgsmall=skills/kennen/r.png] and rushes in with [imgsmall=skills/kennen/e.png] If Kha doesn't manage to kill/get an assist before he needs to [imgsmall=skills/khazix/e.png] out, he might be in major trouble. Glass-cannon Lee sin is gradually becoming more and more popular. Remember to be around when he needs to W to someone, and ult him when he needs it. AP Master Yi likes to dash into enemy teams, he'll be able to build squishier with you on the team. Morgana likes to rush in guns blazing and cast her R. However, the stun doesn't activate until the end of her ult, so make sure she doesn't die before hand. This comp is kind of ironic, because, if you read the lore, morg and kayle are mortal enemies. Siblings can get over their differences in the face of evil... right? I just noticed this the other day. When [imgsmall=champ/shaco.png] uses a skin, it can sometimes be difficult to identify which color is the real shaco and which one is not, especially in a clutch situation where everyone is overlapping with their health bars and stuff, the same sometimes applies to LeBlanc. (AP Tristana) His swap can sometimes lead him to a vulnerable position. [imgsmall=champ/zyra.png] likes to run in and cast all her abilities before dying and then do maximum damage with her ult. Prevent her death and you'll have a valuable asset later in the teamfight.

There are many burst combo's that, as Kayle, you have to keep in mind. [title]Bursty Champs[/title] [imgsmall=champ/chogath.png] AP ChoGath likes this combo: [imgsmall=skills/chogath/q.png][imgsmall=skills/chogath/w.png][imgsmall=skills/chogath/r.png] The [imgsmall=skills/chogath/r.png] is pretty fast animation wise so be on your toes for it. [imgsmall=champ/darius.png] Darius rhythm is based on his ult. I'm sure we've all seen videos where [imgsmall=champ/darius.png] has used his [imgsmall=skills/darius/r.png] 5 times to cleanup a team. His ult is a melee range skill, that, if it is the killing blow, refreshes. Darius-s like to output as much damage as possible before guaranteeing the killing blow. Since the [imgsmall=skills/darius/r.png] is a reltively visible and big animation, you can predict who he is going to ult and use your ult on that ally. This can turnaround teamfights and even save your team from a rampaging [imgsmall=champ/darius.png]. [imgsmall=champ/fizz.png] AP Fizz throws out his [imgsmall=skills/fizz/r.png] and then jumps to his target. Try to ult an ally who has the shark on him after fizz has jumped to make Fizz vulnerable position wise and waste his ult. [imgsmall=champ/graves.png] AD Graves uses his [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/r.png] combo to do massive damage, and has it available by lvl 6. Try to block this damage on an ally who might die from it. [imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png] Kassadin uses his [imgsmall=skills/kassadin/r.png] to close in on his target, and then [imgsmall=skills/kassadin/q.png] [imgsmall=skills/kassadin/e.png] combos your ally. Prevent the majority of this damage if it will be fatal. [imgsmall=champ/leblanc.png] AP Leblanc dashes forward ([imgsmall=skills/leblanc/w.png]) and then uses her [imgsmall=skills/leblanc/q.png][imgsmall=skills/leblanc/r.png] combo, which can do massive damage on allies. Save them with your ult. [imgsmall=champ/malzahar.png] Malzahar's deadly [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png] while the target is in [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/w.png]. This is a high damage combo, and since you can't interrupt his [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png] you may need to ult Malzahar's target. [imgsmall=champ/nidalee.png] Nidalee. A real terror as AP, she throws her [imgsmall=skills/nidalee/q.png] over walls and chunks allies, sometimes one-shotting them. If you see a spear about to hit your ally as you walk through the jungle, and your ally is squishy, ult him or intercept it. [imgsmall=champ/tristana.png] While AP Trist has not been very viable, it is still played, and you have to keep her insane burst in mind, and that she is a "get-a-kill-or-die" when she jumps in. If her burst fails to kill anyone, Tristana's will not refresh and she will likely find herself in a vulnerable position. [imgsmall=champ/veigar.png] Your ally is walking through the jungle, and a wild Veigar appears and stuns ([imgsmall=skills/veigar/e.png]) him. Right when the [imgsmall=skills/veigar/q.png][imgsmall=skills/veigar/w.png][imgsmall=skills/veigar/r.png] combo is going to brutally overkill him/her, KAYLE COMES to the rescue and ults him/her. When Veigar catches your adc, or especially your apc, prevent death with your ultimate and turnaround the game. [imgsmall=champ/zyra.png] Zyra has very, very high burst with her [imgsmall=skills/zyra/e.png][imgsmall=skills/zyra/q.png][imgsmall=skills/zyra/r.png] combo, combined with her [imgsmall=skills/zyra/w.png]. Keep her passive in mind as well. [title]Snipes and Globals[/title] and Ashe, Draven, Ezreal, Gangplank, Lux, and Zigg's all have charge-up or projectile-shooting near-global ultimates that you can prevent the damage of. Ashe's arrow can be used to initiate a fight or to snipe off an enemy, so be sure to watch out for it. If you see an [imgsmall=skills/ashe/r.png] headed towards your adc, and your adc could potentially be caught by it and killed, ult him. It's worth it to prevent your adc from dying. NOTE: DO NOT ULT YOUR TANK IF YOUR TANK IS GOING TO BE HIT BY AN ASHE ARROW (unless it's fatal). Draven's [imgsmall=skills/draven/r.png] is usually used to do massive aoe, but he sometimes uses it to snipe off targets that are running away. [imgsmall=skills/kayle/r.png] that target, and Draven'll have wasted his ult, which has a considerably longer cooldown. KEEP IN MIND THAT the axes will come back to him and "home in on him" essentially when he recasts the ability, so watch out for an axe coming from the opposite direction after he uses it. Ezreal is the same thing as Draven except he can't make it come back to him. Lux's ultimate is not global, but is about the range from blue-side wraiths to dragon, or purple side wraiths to baron. However, the ultimate is instant and it consumes the illumination stack. Lux'es like to either: snipe off targets that are recalling. Or they like to do the Q-E-R combo. If you can ult your squishy ally who is about to get combo'ed, you'll probably save them. Zigg's ult is a aoe nuke that creates a circle boundary on the ground where it will land. Easily predictable as to where it will land. Gangplank is about the same except his is instant and more of a damage over time. Karthus's ult shows this red column over a person. If you think someone's going to die from it then ult them.

Attack speed items for atk speed support Kayle. Exp runes (someone suggested this, don't think it'll work though) Mostly tank items Matchup against Draven (Haven't played enough games of this) Some Flat AP Runes A much needed update was put up on 9/14/13.

This was my support Kayle guide. I hope you enjoyed, and if you did, please leave a like, as it really does support me. If there's anything you would like to be explained/changed, don't hesitate to comment on it. Have fun SUPPORTING and I hope to see you on the Fields of Justice!
