Why herro there~ my name is Odel, I play Jungle as main role and I'm currently in Diamond. [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/J65riDu.jpg] Karthus is usually played in midlane, but contrary to popular belief, he's quite a decent jungler aswell. While being vulnerable in early levels, his clearing speed is good and his ganks are pretty ok, considering the range on his wall and the slow you get from it. If you get the lead as Karthus, your chance of winning is pretty high actually. Your Ultimate will be able to finish off low HP enemies much easier, thus resulting in a even bigger lead. Your Dragon and Baron dps is one of the highest ingame, making it possible for your team to get objectives much faster.

[highlight]Seals/Yellows:[/highlight] Armor mitigates a lot of Dmg from jungle creeps. This really comes in handy when starting with [imgsmall=items/faerie-charm.png]. [highlight]Glyphs/Blues:[/highlight] [.]AP/lv [.]Flat MR [.]MR/lv [.]Flat AP In this order, from best to worst. Cdr runes got buffed recently, so you could try that out aswell. [highlight]Quints:[/highlight] Spellvamp is best suited in my opinion, but flat AP Quints are ok if you dont have Spellvamp Quints.

Great for finishing off enemies that managed it to survive with barely any HP. [highlight]In lategame:[/highlight] Use it before teamfights to make most dmg with it and weaken enemies before the fight. You can use the 7s of your passive form to spam Qs then instead of casting your ult.

[.]When ganking, you try to cut off the possible escape path of your enemy to make sure that he gets slowed. [.]Try to avoid minions when Qing an enemy champion in order to do double damage on him. [.]Your E does damage aswell, but dont overuse it; that could lead to you being out of mana and not able to lay down any Qs. [.]You either use your ult to get a few assists when lets say your botlane is engaging or to finish off enemies that are out of your teammates range to make sure that the kill is secured. You really need to make sure that you land those Qs, but that kind of needs a bit of time for some. Just practice it, it will get a lot better.

Always start with [imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png], it's your main damage source. When enemies are invading you, dont even bother leveling [imgsmall=skills/karthus/w.png], you wont be able to blue buff without your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png] You should take your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/e.png] at level 2 as it refunds you mana when killing a creep and it does AoE(Area of Effect) damage. Activate it when having sufficient mana, but dont leave it on too long. At level 3 you can decide wether to gank or stay in jungle for lv 4: [.][imgsmall=skills/karthus/w.png] if ganking [.][imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png] when jungling until 4 At level 4 you level the skill that you didnt level up previously. Always start with [img=items/faerie-charm.png] + 7x [img=items/health-potion.png] + 1x [img=items/mana-potion.png] Stay in jungle until you managed it to farm up atleast 870 gold for [img=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png] + [img=items/boots-of-speed.png] or 945 if you want to buy a [img=items/sight-ward.png] (highly recommended) Next thing on your shopping list is either [.][img=items/catalyst-the-protector.png] standard. [.][img=items/seekers-armguard.png] enemy jungler is AD and counterjungling you heavily. [img=items/rod-of-ages.png] is next. [.]If you have 750/750 stacks on your tear, get [img=items/seraphs-embrace.png]. [center]You get a lot of AP combined with your [imgsmall=items/rod-of-ages.png].[/center] [.]If the enemy AD champions are still causing you trouble, get [img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] [center]You can make some plays when using the active in the right time[/center] [.]If the enemies already began to stack Magic Resist, get [img=items/void-staff.png] [center]It will ramp up your damage the most vs high magic resist targets.[/center] [.]If you want more slow and a global slow with [imgsmall=skills/karthus/r.png], get [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png]. [center]You basically get lots of utility and slow[/center] [.]If you fed and the enemy AP bursts you down every fight, get [img=items/abyssal-scepter.png] [center]Your AP carry benefits from the magic penetration and you get a bit beefier[/center] [.]If you fed and your team is doing well [img=items/abyssal-scepter.png][img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] [center]Probably stops feeding and makes it easier for your teammate/s to carry you[/center] [.]If you have the lead and dont really care and if you just want to do big damages[img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] [center]Greatly increases your damage output, however it doesnt give anything else[/center] Standard Build: [img=items/sorcerers-shoes.png][img=items/seraphs-embrace.png][img=items/rod-of-ages.png][img=items/void-staff.png][img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png][img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] You balance tankiness, damage and mana out quite well. This is a really good build versus a balanced team in my opinion as you get a lot of ap, a mana shield, lots of mana, some hp and the passive from zhonya's.

[.]Autohit 1 time between each Q [.]Dont gank lanes that will burst you down instantly [.]Watch out for counterganks

You basically just try to keep the enemy in range and kite him with your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/w.png] while laying down your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png] in order to damage him. If he's in range of your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/e.png], activate it, implied that you have sufficient mana. You really need to watch your mana when fighting as karthus in early game, because you're left with simple autoattacks when running out of mana([number]oom[/number]). You just kite and poke until he's really low on hp and running away from you and when he does so, you either use your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png] to finish him off or you slow him with your [imgsmall=skills/karthus/w.png] and proceed to finish him off with [imgsmall=skills/karthus/q.png]. Another option would be [imgsmall=skills/karthus/r.png] if he's really low on hp and out of anybodies range.

You're really vulnerable in Early Game, so you'll need all the pots you bought at Lv 1. You are able to gank at Lv 4 if there is an opportunity to do so, because of your wall being really good. The enemy should be around Lv 3 when you're ganking him, means you do lots of damage to enemies while being really squishy. Having a laner with hard CC or good burst at lv 3 should result in a successful gank. Your goal is to farm up 945gold for [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png]+[imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png]+[imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] and to reach Lv 6 as soon as possible.

By now, you have sufficient mana to spam Qs and farm up your [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png]. Your Dragon dps is really high and you should be able to tank it when having for a bit, switch off-tanking with your support would be ideal. You basically just farm in Mid Game and gank vulnerable lanes occasionally, i.e having low hp or no wards. Your ult is really good to finish off those enemies that survive with barely any HP and it can net you a few assists when your allies are engaging in lane. You're basically just roaming around the map looking for farm or kills, because you really want to finish your items as fast as possible to become the Late Game

You do a whole lot of damage because of you being a [number]Hyper Carry[/number]. Your [number]Q[/number]s can chunk enemies for roughly 20-35% of their HP if they're squishy and your [number]ultimate[/number] should deal around 1000 damage. This is the stage of the game where Karthus really shines, your [number]wall[/number] is insane in late game, your [number]Q[/number]s chunk enemy HP bars for a good amount, your [number]E[/number] does unreal damage in a decent [number]AoE[/number] and your [number]ultimate[/number] is really good aswell.

When your team is poking, you just throw in some [number]Q[/number]s and [number]walls[/number] to help you in your quest to land [number]Q[/number]s. When one team is engaging, you can either continue throwing in [number]Q[/number]s or when let's say a [imgsmall=champ/jarvaniv.png] ults straight into the enemy carries, you follow up, throw in a [number]wall[/number], activate your [number]E[/number] and start chunking enemies with your [number]Q[/number]s. You'll most likely die, but that doesn't really matter because of your [number]passive[/number], so you just continue chunking enemies with your [number]Q[/number]s. [highlight]When to use Requiem?[/highlight] There are 2 options for when using your [/number]ultimate[/number]. Either you use it before the fight to weaken enemies and assure that your team is winning the teamfight or you're selfish and use it after the fight to make sure that you get the kills. Using [number]Requiem[/number] before a teamfight starts allows you to spam [number]Q[/number]s for the whole 7s duration of your [number]passive[/number] instead of channeling your [number]ultimate[/number].

While Requiem is one of the best abilities in League of Legends, however, there are some champions are able to escape it and even certain items that allow you to do so: [highlight]CHAMPIONS[/highlight] [img=champ/anivia.png] Her [number]passive[/number] is similar to yours; After losing all her HP, she transforms into an motionless egg and you need to kill her in that form aswell. [img=champ/blitzcrank.png] His [number]passive[/number] gives him a shield that scales off mana and absorbs damage. [img=champ/diana.png] Her [number]W[/number] is a shield that may lets her survive your ultimate. [img=champ/drmundo.png] His [number]ultimate[/number] restores a high percentage of his health. [img=champ/elise.png] Her [number]E[/number] in Spider Mode makes her untargetable. [img=champ/fiora.png] Her [number]ultimate[/number] makes her untargetable. [img=champ/fizz.png] His [number]E[/number] makes him jump on his pole and untargetable aswell. [img=champ/janna.png] Her [number]E[/number] is a shield that she can cast on herself or allies. Thanks for reading my guide, I know jungling Karthus seems odd to you at first, but he's actually quite viable considering the fact that every jungler gets smiteless buffs at level 1 and people being able to buy wards at level 1. Season 3 made jungling much more fun, you basically have a lot more possible picks than you used to have in season 1 & 2. Jungle Karthus makes some really fun plays possible and is quite funny to play in general.
