Welcome to my Nocturne guide! Nocturne is one of my favorite champions in the game, and am excited to share with you my thoughts about this undeservingly underappreciated champion. I'd like to keep my guide thorough yet concise, so let's get started! Nocturne is a versatile champion with lots of possible build paths. While I will discuss other builds, this guide will focus on aggressively offensive assassin and DPS bruiser styles to play Nocturne, as it is my preferred playstyle. Nocturne's skills are more suitable for dealing damage and eliminating targets than defensive play. Regardless of what build you choose, the best offensive stats on Nocturne are attack speed and CDR. Attack speed allows for more [img=skills/nocturne/p.png] procs, more on-hit effects, and faster jungle clear, while CDR allows for his abilities (particularly [img=skills/nocturne/r.png]) to be available more often. PROS Flexible build (assassin, tank, bruiser, constant DPS, burst, etc.) Carry jungler and late game monster Straightforward to play, since ganks/engages are point-and-click [img=skills/nocturne/r.png] Amazing chasing power ([img=skills/nocturne/q.png][img=skills/nocturne/e.png][img=skills/nocturne/r.png]) Psychological advantage ([img=skills/nocturne/r.png]) Fear [img=skills/nocturne/e.png] Spell shield [img=skills/nocturne/w.png] Snowballs hard CONS Weak early game Very low mana pool (24th lowest mana at level 1, 11th lowest mana at level 18), so avoid ability spamming Subpar ganks without [img=skills/nocturne/r.png] [img=skills/nocturne/w.png] can be juked Can be kited with sustained CC Mediocre passive [img=skills/nocturne/p.png] Quick terminology guide: AA = Auto Attack AD = Attack Damage AS = Attack Speed CD = Cooldown CDR = Cooldown Reduction crit = Critical Hit hp = Hit Points %hp = Percent HP (for damage or scalings) MR = Magic Resist AoE = Area of Effect

Power farm to level 6 since a successful gank before then is unlikely due to Nocturne's weak early game and low ganking power without [img=skills/nocturne/r.png]. In your first clear, start blue-side for CDR and mana regen. By the time you need to back, you should have killed Gromp (leashed), Blue buff golem, Wolves, Red buff camp. Clearing the 2 minor golems above the Red buff camp is a bonus, but you do not need to. On your first back, you should have enough gold to purchase [img=items/skirmishers-sabre.png][img=items/vision-ward.png][img=items/health-potion.png]. Some helpful tips regarding farming: 1. If you have above 30% mana (any lower and you should restrict ability use to [img=skills/nocturne/q.png] to conserve when jungling), feel free to use [img=skills/nocturne/e.png] on the main monster in a camp to clear faster and avoid tanking hits. 2. If you are planning to farm more than gank, don't be afraid to buy an early [img=items/vampiric-scepter.png]. You will never need to buy [img=items/health-potion.png] again in the jungle.

Your ganks are far more potent thanks to [img=skills/nocturne/r.png], but make each gank count due to the high CD! Also be mindful of Nocturne's low mana pool; a gank or several camps cleared may mean you will be forced to recall out of low mana, possibly missing a good opportunity to gank. If you're running [img=items/skirmishers-sabre-enchantment---devour.png], don't forget to farm up.

You're tanky. You hit hard. You're annoying with [img=skills/nocturne/r.png] which is on a low CD. You're a true nightmare to the enemy team. Take psychological advantage of the low CD of [img=skills/nocturne/r.png] to secure objectives and use your late game power to win.

Activate [img=skills/nocturne/r.png] to reduce enemy vision and go after the enemy carries. If you built sufficient damage items, you should kill them in seconds. Even if you deal less damage since you built more tanky than damage, you will still be a threat to the enemy carries because your tankiness and moderate damage will outlast their squishiness.

You've reached the end! And yet it's only the's time for you to terrify your enemies as the ultimate nightmare, Nocturne! Please rate, comment (suggestions?), and check out my other guides! Thanks for reading!
