What you will learn in this guide -How to play Viktor Well that's it about it really, I just hope my guide teaches you something different that wasn't already in the featured/approved guides. Feel free to add me. My only wish is that if we duo queue together we will be losing Elo because I want to have 1 Elo therefore I'll be number 1 in the league! Also I am trying to get there through legit losing (getting outplayed) and not feeding/afking on purpose. Reasons you should listen to me are -I've played him since release -I abused his double ult -I have like 400 APM but 100 eAPM according to SC2! -Just kidding I want you to form your own damn opinion. I want you to test out what you like on Viktor and come up with your own style of play. Too many people follow cookie cutter builds and do not deviate to match their playstyle. Like if you're the kind of player who likes to roam and get fed off all 3 lanes, get boots of mobility or TP on Viktor, nothing wrong with either of those. Don't be one of those guys who follow guides to the letter especially MOBA fire guides with their damn Mejai's as first buy.

[title]Why play Viktor[/title] -Nobody knows how to face against him so they end up getting owned. -The [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] is bugged in your favor usually making it difficult for your opponent to dodge. -Viktor's burst is amazing. -Viktor has an AOE silence and AOE supress. Seriously what the hell? -Counterpicking Katarina or Swain [title]Why not to play Viktor?[/title] -Well besides his [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png], all his spell ranges are actually really short ranged requiring you to be kind of close to the fight. -You don't want to get countered by Vikings -You don't want to play a champion who is unique and fun.

Spell Penetration reds- No other choices honestly, this is the best for all casters. I have tried AD reds because I auto-attack as Viktor a lot but it just does not hold up compared to this. MR blues- I like this the best. You're going against another AP mid and they will probably harass you with magic. MR/level blues-These overtake the flat ones around level 9. If you're against someone who doesn't harass until then these would be the better choice. AP/level blues- I personally don't like these. Viktor is more of a in your face caster. I feel these blues are better for champs that can stay around the outside and poke in like Orianna or Morde who gets more shield for doing more damage. Armor Yellows- I like these just because I auto attack a lot so I take a lot of minion aggro. Mp5 Yellows- Helps you manage your mana better. You don't have to get 9 of this or 9 armor you could easily split it 5:4. HP/Level yellows- A good all around choice for AP mids. Movement Quints- For a slow caster who needs to get into range this is the best. AP Quints- 15 AP isn't much compared to the ability to run faster but if you like hitting harder here you go. MR Quints- If you're against a Leblanc and need all the MR you can get.

[title] Passive: Evolving Technology[/title] [number]Viktor starts with a Hex Core that provides him with stats and can be upgraded in the store to augment one of his abilities. The Hex Core can only be upgraded once, and cannot be sold back to the store.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A lot of people don't like it. But I love this passive. Definitely makes him unique. Gives him 54 AP and then 3 items just for Viktor? Taking a slot away from you is a pretty big deal since you can't help your team buy wards but you should be owning so hard that hopefully the game will end before you run out of slots. [title] Q: Power Transfer[/title] [number]Viktor blasts an enemy unit dealing magic damage, returning a portion of the damage dealt as a shield.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Pretty good early game. Gives you a shield so after casting this make sure to auto attack otherwise the shield will be a waste. Very low mana cost so you can spam this. The problem is its low range so the best way to use this is look at your own minion's health. When they run up to last hit make them eat a [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png]+AA. Don't get the augment for this ever, it sucks. [title] W: Gravity Field[/title] [number]Viktor conjures a heavy gravitational field that slows any target in its radius. If enemies stay too long within the radius of the device, they get stunned.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Awesome spell. Mid lane is kind of big and range is kind of crappy so I get it later when I suspect team fights to break out near dragon and stuff. But it is an awesome spell. If Singed's W was upgraded to like Spiderman Webbing this would be it. You can use it to block entrances and ramps. You can use this to suppress their carry or protect your own. If your team gets initiated on, feel free to use this to stop the follow up crew. The Augment for this is pretty good. The range helps and the CDR helps. I would probably get this 1 in 20 games. [title] E: Death Ray[/title] [number]Viktor uses his robotic arm to fire a chaos beam that cuts across the field in a lane, dealing damage to any opponenets struck in its path.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This spell is awesome! The range is pretty long and with the augment you can use it to poke at the team for 1/4th of their health. The [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] can go over the trees and stuff so you can shoot over walls. You can use it to check bushes because it gives you vision over the area you're shooting. [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] immediately after the [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png] and you will guarantee for it to hit. The start of [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] does the damage instantly and has no travel time so you can get some pretty sick damage in. (this is done on smartcast btw) Get the augment for this almost every game! [title] R: Chaos Storm[/title] [number]Viktor conjures a singularity on the field which deals magic damage and briefly silences enemies. The singularity then does magic damage to all nearby enemies every second. Viktor can redirect the singularity.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Before the fix I would say this was the best ultimate hands down. Now it's still really good. 2 second AOE silence that does deceptively a lot of damage. The range is kind of short so you have to be careful where you cast this. I would cast this on the enemy AP carry before they can get their spells off but if they already did then get it off on anyone that hasn't cast their spells yet like a Malphite who hasn't ulted yet. If there is a channeler like Kat you can think about saving it for her. Also using this on an AD carry can essentially blow them up and if it doesn't you can just have the cloud follow them to chase them out of the fight which means you won the team fight unless your AD carry died. If you are panicking and can't decide who to ult just look for a cluster of guys and drop it on them. I wish there was a Augment for this spell that lets me do the double ult bug again.

>>> Level 5 [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png]+ augment allows you to instantly clear wraiths with a [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png] on the big Wraith+auto attack. Since the [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] gives you vision though you can shoot from over the wall and do this. So basically you want your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] maxed at level 9 just to do this or clear a wave and go roam. Get [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] when team fights start. If a team fight happens at level 1 then get it at level 1 instead. I might forgo the 2nd [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png] for [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] if I'm up against someone with strong gap closing abilities like Pantheon.

This is not a particularly difficult match up for you as far as laning goes. Try your best to dodge her Q. If you take it try to move out from true damage portion. Avoid her charm at all costs because this pretty much means death for you. Stand behind your minion line while it is up. Once she casts it and misses you have about 10 seconds to be aggressive. It gets a lot more difficult when she hits level 6. She can dodge all your skills with her ult so call for a gank to get her to use it. Also tell your team to be careful because she can easily roam and get fed off other lanes even if you don't feed her yourself. This is actually a pretty easy match up for you. You win pre-6 and you tie post 6. Early on she will try to either last hit with Q or harass you with Q. Don't take that free harass and make her pay but don't let her get in melee range to proc her Q. When she tries to shroud zone you, just go stand near the edge of it so right when she Q's you for some attempt at free harass then trade with her. You still do enough damage to her that you will still come out ahead even with her bonus MR. At level 6, play safe until level 7 where you can get your W so when she tries any silly dive at you drop your W on yourself and you'll catch her. Well she has a really slow Q and that's the most dangerous skill she has pre-6. Get your shoes and dodge that Q and pay her back. You cannot out clear her at level 6 so try to get an advantage pre-6, even if that means getting her to use her passive. Call for ganks. She has 2 lives and you really don't have enough burst to kill her twice without a jungler. Take advantage of the early game and your dominant range. Be passive while she has her stun up. Also click on her because sometimes Annie might trick you by being at 3 stacks and then doing a quick E+Q to get the stun on you. Once she hits 6 be careful. Don't ever go in without your flash up. You both have about equivalent burst so post 6 it really becomes who can get their ult off first. Start boots and dodge his W as best as you can. Stand behind minions to block his Q. Once his ult is up be careful of your own minions and be weary of where they are otherwise you might take a lot of bounces from his ult. She pushes a lot. You have to dodge her Q's otherwise you will take 2-3 E's right afterwards. Call for ganks. She is a sustained DPS so she has a better end game than you so you have to try to get ahead during laning. Be super careful of her Ult. Dodge her Q's and you can pay her back with your own combos. She's super strong right now. So the best you can do is abuse the fact that she's melee. Dodge her Q by running to the left and towards her. I almost never see fiddlesticks mid. But they are super dangerous. So many start with 40 AP and just throw silencing birds at you and then drain back any damage you do. The best thing you can do is farm until 6, call for ganks, then dominate him. I legitimately hate this champion. He can do poorly during laning and still have enough burst to kill you. At level 3 his Playful/trickster will be on such a short CD that he can basically dodge everything. You just have to wait for him to try to jump in with it instead and then you can punish him. No matter how well you do, you have to be really careful. He will burst you down with his ult even if you are 2-0 on him. I never really see this guy too much. He apparently counters a lot of mids so just out farm him while avoiding his shield and Q+E. I don't have enough experience against this guy to say much besides call for ganks and silence him if he ults your team. He is currently FOTM. During laning you just abuse him for being a melee champ. Be careful because he has some powerful spells while being innately tanky. So lots of auto attack on this guy. His bomb is slower than Anivia's Q so dodge it and feel good about yourself because you're so pro. He will push hard with his turrets. Call for ganks and punish him for that. He is a strong poker with his missiles but nothing you can't handle. Don't take free hits from his turrets or don't be dumb and take any hits at all. His 6 is not super strong so you should win once you get your Ult. He has a better late game than you. He has sustained DPS while being able to gank while staying in mid. Here is one of those guys it is better to poke just with your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] as opposed to your usual combo. Try to get fed, via farm, outplaying this karth, calling for ganks, or ganking other lanes. You have to stay ahead of this guy the entire game. If he is tied with you, you are actually losing the lane. Ok this guy is considered OP so he's banned all the time. Basically his goal is to live for 10 minutes until he hits 6. You make him pay during this time. Most people just let him get free harass because of the silence. He Q's you, you follow him until it wears off and Q+E+AA him back. He will not get away with free harass ever. Make him scared to come close to last hit so he'll have to last hit with his Q. After 6 though play super safe because he can dodge your skill shots super easily. He can gank other lanes quickly. The best you can do is farm and counter gank. Hopefully you shut him down so hard pre-6 that he'll rethink about 1st picking kassadin ever again just because he wasn't banned. You own her. Your ult directly counters her. She is also melee so you can abuse that. Once her knives are maxed they might get a bit annoying but nothing you can't handle. Don't be baited into burning all your spells so she can dodge with her Shunpo. Avoid his W autoattack proc. Stand between minions so he can't just Q you. Both of you have around the same end game utility although his is much easier to use. Be aggressive while his E is down. She is stupidly strong. Many people say \"just don't feed her and you win because her late game sucks\". This might be true but it is difficult to simply not die to a good LeBlanc. Start [imgsmall=items/null-magic-mantle.png] and get [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png] as soon as you can. You can try pushing to her tower and staying back so she can't WQ you and she won't be able to push back as quickly. If she pushes to your tower call for a gank so she doesn't roam. Once you hit level 6 just say your prayers and be passive. Pre 6, she has no reliable way to silence you so you can combo her. Her range is good but she's all skill shots so you have to kind of weave a lot to get closer to her. Just try your best to not get binded. Not many people know about this but Malphite makes a really annoying mid. He chucks rocks at you and if you try to get too close he ground pounds. His ult makes him immune to all CC. He probably can't kill you pre 6 unless you make a lot of mistakes or get ganked. Just harass him a lot so he can't get his shield back and once he has his ult up you either have to silence and combo him before he ults or drop a W on yourself right when he ults. He pushes all day. You beat him pre 6 usually unless you eat all his E's and silences. Don't stand in his pool. Once he hits 6 he'll try to pool you first then ult so right when you see his pool under you cast your Ult instantly. Ok this guy is a stupidly good mid. He can farm like a pro with just his E. His Ult is really good for team fights but at 6 he doesn't necessarily get burstier or more damaging like Annie or anything so you don't need to worry as much about his Ult in lane. He is melee though so abuse that fact. His EWQ combo is actually pretty strong against you though so get a W earlier than normal and make him pay at least 2 fold. Ok screw this guy. Everyone says it's a newb thing to do but honestly AP yi wins lanes. He can W off all harass you do and his Q has this stupid ability to reach you regardless of how far you are from your own minions. The best thing you can do is just to not feed him and hopefully he'll fall off late game. You can ult him while he W's and remember the minion he Q's first because that's where he will be when he comes out of alpha strike and you can pay him back. Learn the best distance to stand away from your minions too. He has an extremely weak early game. Stand away from your minions so he'll have to choose between getting shield from your minions or harassing you. Harass him the best you can early on while calling in for a gank often pre 6. Mordekaiser can get farm fed so try to shut him down early on. You can kill her if she tries to trade with you. She will try to farm with her E so just stand away from your own minions. Dodge her Q's or block them with your minion line and play aggressively to get her to use her shield so when the gank comes she won't just waltz away. Like Malphite he is really annoying with the snowballs. The problem he faces though is he can harass but probably can't kill you. Just make him eat an ult when he ults and don't let him get free harass with his snowballs the best you can. He will consume a lot so there's that. Nothing else you can do. She has about the same or maybe more utility than you. Best thing you can do is dodge her balls and don't get baited to go deep because she probably has her shield left. Her auto attacks do a lot of damage so don't take free ones. QW and QRW combos hurt. Playstyle wise I would stick to poking with E more or just doing a farm fest in this match up. He dominates mid lane. Call for a switch with top if you can but if you can't then call for frequent ganks. If you have your W you can pay him back but honestly he is super bursty and will probably win the lane. Level 6 he will roam and if you fed him any he will get fed off all the other lanes too. When he Ults away, push that lane, punish him for leaving. You really have to outplay him in order to win this. Don't see him very often at mid but do not stand in between minions and his flame spitter does a lot of damage. So basically stand behind the minions to avoid his E completely and do not let him get close to you for his flame spitter. Ryze is a strong pick in general with sustained dps. His range is crap though so you can out poke him and will probably out trade him. Do not get drawn in where he randomly gets aggressive on you because he will snare you and then the jungler will probably come out. You can either choose to break his shield or force him to waste his shield on your minions pushing the lane to your tower. If he ever stuns you, be aggressive afterwards after you determine no jungler is around. When his stun is down it is your time to be aggressive. She pushes a lot with no ability to run away so just call in for ganks while poking her from the outside. Your shield really mitigates his dots by a lot. So make this trade but when he EQ's you try to break the leash on his Q quickly. Poke him a lot and his sustain with his ult can't beat your ability to burst him. If you silence him make sure to do it while his bird form is not up so he can't transform. He also dominates mid hard. You can't beat him. Even if you don't feed him he can easily go gank other lanes and get fed there. Switch with top because he usually can't beat bruisers. I think at max range your E might out range his gap closer so you could stand a chance if you can actually land your E reliably. Don't stand close to dying minions. After she gets some AP don't stand near minions at all. Her E range is bad so harass her back every time she tries to E you. Really strong poking power but it's relatively easy to dodge. Run away whenever he uses pick a card so he can't get you with gold card. At level 6 you become a lot stronger than him. He's one of those champs that do not get stronger with ult at all so you don' have to worry about that. When he leaves lane though follow him so right when he tries to ult silence/stun him. He is a really strong mid and the best thing you can do is dodge his lock on skill. Harass him a lot. Get QSS maybe cleanse too. Do not let him farm. Bait his stun out then harass him afterwards. At level 6 call in ganks a lot. Push to his tower so he has to farm under tower early on. He's a good top but a bad mid. Abuse him before he hits level 9 where he actually tends to get stronger. Try to bait his pool, you can get your W earlier because he will probably pool every time he gets caught by your W. Strong Poke, but hard to land Q's. Avoid having to run through his minefield. Wait until he uses his passive on a minion before going in. If you take a bomb just hit him back with our combo. Don't just run away. Stand in your minions so that they take the bomb damage too to get the lane to push to your tower then call in for a ganks. Well I haven't seen any after she got nerfed so just avoid her skill shots the best you can (she can do QWW combo which does a lot). Try to out lane her early because her team fight utility and burst is strong. You can go gank other lanes in this match up to get other lanes fed instead.

Mid lane is actually a 2v2 lane and you should take into account the jungler+mid composition. List of dangerous junglers who you should fear and play more passively even with flash: Junglers who aren't as dangerous and you can get away easily with flash if they do manage to catch you. After you use flash be careful afterwards because if they are smart they will come back before your flash comes back: Junglers who are super passive and the gank is entirely dependent on your enemy mid: Junglers who at level 6 pretty much have guarantee kills:

Give a good leash for your Jungler. [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png]+AA that blue and run away immediately so that they don't reset. If he asks for a strong leash so he doesn't need to smite then do the glitch where you get the blue to mirror you (superman leash). Level 1. Here you can be aggressive depending on your lane opponent. [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png]+AA a lot. Last hit. Start getting a feel of how aggressive your opponent likes to be. Be weary of any level 2 ganks though like if they have an Alistar or Lee Sin. If you know your opponent started at blue stand on the side of the lane opposite of blue. If you don't know where the enemy jungler started try to stay on the side of the lane where your jungler is closer too so you can run to him if you can't run to your own tower for some reason. Level 2. You can still be aggressive here because your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png][imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png]+AA usually does more damage then the other guy. Don't spam the [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] too much though otherwise you run out of mana. Slowly move towards the other side of the lane that the jungle started. So like if they started at blue and you stood on the opposite side, move towards the same side as blue because the enemy jungler is probably getting red around now. Level 3-4. [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png]+AA again. Avoid using your laser because it doesn't do very much damage yet. Level 5. [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png][imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png]+autoattack again. Your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] should be doing insane damage. Try to get them around half health so right when you hit level 6 you can just burst them down with [imgsmall=skills/viktor/q.png][imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png][imgsmall=skills/viktor/r.png][imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png]. [title]Things to look out for[/title] When making trades with autoattacks make sure you have more caster minions on your side than his. That way if he decides to auto attack you back he will be eating a lot of OP minion damage. Be careful of the passive player who randomly gets aggressive. This is a dead give away that the jungler is coming to gank. Be aggressive during the time frame you are ahead in levels. So if you manage to hit level 3 before they do, you can use this time to be aggressive on them until they catch up. Do not take any free harass.

Here is where things get more interesting. When you hit level 9 with the augment start taking your wraiths if your jungler is ok with it. If possible start taking enemy wraiths too. Everytime you leave base if you have a slot open and +75 gold get wards dammit. Ward your lane to save your life. Ward enemy blue so you can steal it. Ward your entrance to jungle so if they want to counter jungle your team you can respond quickly. This part of the game is where you are the most important player on your team. Being mid allows you to easily gank the other 2 lanes, control dragon, or help counter jungle(steal wraiths/blue). Clear your wave and fall back into the fog. The enemy mid will have to last hit under tower while he has no idea what you are doing so you can easily do any of the above or just even stay back just to mess with him.

By this point just aim to get your team to level 18 as fast as possible while keeping the enemy from doing so. Start warding near Baron. Follow your team more often and don't take dumb routes otherwise you'll get caught. Try to give the farm to your AD carry unless he is just bad. I know it's very tempting to just go clear that giant wave for a quick 400 gold but if you see the AD carry heading there give it to him. You can even freeze the lane before it gets to the turret so he won't lose any of the CS taking his sweet time getting there.

Sometimes you just don't get fed or worst you fed 2-3 kills, maybe even more. Worry not though, Viktor's utility allows him to stay relevant for a while. 1. Play as passively as possible. So never pass the halfway point of the river unless you have your jungler with you and you know exactly where their jungler is. If you have to, farm with your laser. 2. Ask your jungler to put a little bit of pressure on mid lane. 3. Do engagements in the jungle. Using the terrain and brushes to your advantage you'll stand a better chance. Some champions just fight better in the jungle, especially more AOE oriented champs and Viktor is one of those. 4. Be prepared for any kind of dives even at full health. So buy even more wards. Q anything you can asap, pop a potion, W the jungler since they are usually melee you'll be able to land it quite easily, ultimate right after so that any kind of CC they may have won't be used so they'll just have to keep chasing. Will update more (I haven't played enough games from behind and sometimes I would just get outplayed completely.) I'll try playing a few games giving 1-2 free kills then I'll report back.

Team fights is purely on your own judgement. Here are some tips to help. (a lot of them are obvious) -You can use your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] to zone out their AD carry -[imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] can be used to protect/peel for your AD carry from those crazy bruisers. -Do not run in just to [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] those 2-3 guys in the back if you have to run out of position. -If you can [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] more than 1-2 guys then do so. -[imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] people who are already CC'd and then follow up with your ultimate. That is easily the 5-6 seconds of pure CC on the guy. -Do not initiate the fight. -Do counter the enemy trying to initiate on your team using your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/w.png] to split the enemy team in half or they will have to run through it and get suppressed. -While everyone is stalemated in lane and just running around waiting for the fight to break out poke with your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/e.png] -Do not run into the enemy team to kill the AD carry just because everyone is telling you to focus him. I guarantee they will just blow you up. -While CDs are up Autoattack or run the hell away. Don't stick around just waiting for your spells to come off CD. -[imgsmall=skills/viktor/r.png] on guys who haven't used their spells yet to disrupt them. -[imgsmall=skills/viktor/r.png] on guys who are channeling. -Ult clusters of people to maximize your damage -If you can use your [imgsmall=skills/viktor/r.png] to chase the enemy AD carry out you win! -Protect your AD carry. A lot of people prefer to go balls deep on the enemy AD carry but it is safer to attack that Irelia diving your Tristana while your entire team helps kill Irelia. Doing this will let your AD carry actually carry. Otherwise he will die before doing anything and everyone will just start raging.

I hope you enjoyed my guide. I'll try to fix up the syntax and grammar. I'll start adding pictures for a better descriptions as time passes by. Maybe I'll get a video in eventually too. Well unless you all hate my guide. I'll try to add pictures and make the chapter titles more unique soon. I really like Viktor he is like a Colossus with 1 laser and the minions are zerglings and you just watch them burn. Colossus are my favorite units in Starcraft 2 because they replace the Reavers from Starcraft who basically have the best burst damage in the game. Nothing ever comes close to the reaver in excitement. Your heart races every time a scarab launches out and then you just pray that your scarab does not glitch. Then there is that moment right when it blows up and you look back at the kill counter and it says 7 (or 50 if you're on fastest possible map no rush 20 Expertz only!) and you think \"YES! FUCK YOU DRONES!\"
