Hi, I'm JYarbz. I'm a D1 NA soloq player. Twitch is one of the strongest carries in the game right now, despite having very clear weaknesses and strengths. This basically means his strengths are so overwhelmingly strong that you can pick him into almost anything. While this is true for competitive play I feel it's even more true that you can run away with games in soloq due to his unique playstyle for an ADC. [big]Links[/big] Twitter: https://twitter.com/jyarbz Stream: http://twitch.tv/jyarbz Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jyarbz Pros Extremely high damage output, especially in extended fights or in AoE Best pick potential of any ADC Is a lategame hypercarry Cons No escape, is unsafe Absolutely horrid siege Can have a weak early lane without first level 2

God-tier These are the absolute best supports with Twitch in the current meta. While being basically the all-around best support in the game anyways, Twitch specifically synergizes with Thresh in many ways. Thresh for one brings lots of peel. Ult + E and even strong hooks are all really good peel to protect twitch when used well. Lantern also makes up for one of Twitch's biggest weaknesses which is no mobility. This helps aid with escapes or when catching up to picks. This leads me to my next point which is that Thresh also has kill potential. Landing a good hook is always an opportunity for an all-in, even if it's not always smart in every situation. Thresh is also ranged, which helps provide higher pressure at early levels to give Twitch more freedom to cs and survive early laning phase. You do have to be a bit careful in this lane. You are absolute garbage if reaching level 2 late and can be shit on by competent bot laners playing something strong in lane like . However the all-in strength of this lane—especially at level 6—is unparalleled. Leona ulti is great at engaging picks and when you roam with leona you can 100-0 almost anyone. It also creates extremely strong all-ins in bot lane even at early levels because your poison will proc pretty much every tick of leona passive and do a massive amount of damage. Being a targon support is also crucial as it helps Twitch push for the level 2. This is huge in twitch lanes. Morgana offers a relatively safe laning phase to twitch as well as teamfights due to the strength of black shield. A good morgana can use timely black shields to stop key cc from locking down twitch and enabling him to freely rip apart teamfights with safe damage. Morgana also has high pick potential with Q due an extremely long root at 3 seconds. Her ulti is also great peel for people who are diving the backline or just good teamfight disruption in general. Overall, morgana has the tools to protect twitch and to make picks therefore making up for his biggest weaknesses and improving upon one of his biggest strengths. Level 1 Twitch's level 1 is pretty strong because of his passive, but what's really important in the duo lane is pushing for the level 2. Twitch is actually pretty bad if he gets a later level 2 as he's very vulnerable to the cc and gap closers most champions get at this point. I would highly recommend pushing for a quick level 2 with your support and making sure you don't give up the early level 2 to the enemy lane. If you do, you should expect a 5-10 cs deficit against a skilled lane even if you play perfectly. Level 2 It's really good to push for this as Twitch. Your trade at level 2 with W and E is very strong because of how many safe stacks you can get on the enemy laners. This leads to a decent amount of burst as well as really good sustained damage in long trades, even after you stop autoing. Early laning You are fairly vulnerable as twitch in this stage of the game as a no-escape adc. So you want to watch your positioning. However, you're also very powerful if you can get off sustained trades due to your passive dot damage. Watch out for supports like who have a really easy way to get on top of you. Try to ask your support to ward the bush and keep bush control if possible. You really need your supports help to survive in lanes like this. You aren't . You don't have the safety to almost 1v2 lane against pretty much anything. Playing vs Bloodthirster when it's completed is overall stronger than for straight up damage and sustain. However, it's good for dueling and all-ins, even when dealing with squishy champions and not tanky ones. But there's also a cool timing window you can take advantage of, even if farming evenly in lane. If you can back around the time you get the gold for cutlass your enemy will either be able to back for bf sword or just have vamp. Against , you actually lose the straight up trade but sustain much better. So you want to take somewhat decent trades, even if you slightly lose them and then sustain up better than the other guy. Against , you just straight up outdamage and outsustain the other person who's saving his gold for BF. So you want to take advantage of this and force trades and all-ins.

This is where Twitch really starts to become a monster. Twitch has one primary goal here, which is to make picks. Teamfights are ok if you find the right fight, but mid game bruisers and other champions are still really powerful and can probably duel you somewhat easily if they can jump on you. When looking to make picks, your playstyle is fairly straightforward and simple. You find someone more or less away from their team, go into Ambush off screen and stealth up to basically on top of them. Open up with ulti and your W/Botrk slow. This will keep them slowed enough to stay in your ulti range even when they blink/flash away since you have 850 range. Make sure you have your 6 stacks before hitting E and that's it. You do want to be a bit careful who you pop out on. If it's a fed assassin or bruiser you might find yourself turned on if you can't kill them quick enough. So use your best judgement. But for the most part, with proper positioning and timing (sometimes you can wait for them to use a skill to waveclear like Leblanc W for instance) you can assassinate anyone. This is what makes Twitch so strong in the early-mid game when towers go down and you can start roaming. For the most part, I wouldn't focus incredibly hard on trying to find teamfights unless your team has good ways to set up your ult and/or just other AoE or strong teamfighting in general.

This is where Twitch really lives up to his \"hyper-carry\" status. Having 850 range that can potentially aoe the entire enemy team is pretty crazy, even with the reduced damage on the end of it. This means Twitch can often hit the front line and still deal damage to the backline. This is extremely potent for an ADC to have. Also, I think a lot of players underestimate his ambush for the positioning it allows him in the beginning of fights and the extra DPS it brings through the attack speed steroid. When the enemy can't easily see you at the beginning of a fight it affects their decision making and positioning. You can use this to find the safest spot to do the most damage possible and get extra auto attacks in at the beginning of a fight. If you add his passive + E damage on top of his ult then Twitch probably has the most overall damage of any ranged carry in the game in teamfights as well as the longest range. Siege It's worth noting that being able to siege becomes incredibly important at this stage of the game. You don't really want to blow twitch ult for a tower and at the end of the day twitch is a no-escape adc with 550 range. This means that he can't siege for shit. This is just asking to get caught and die. Twitch is actually just plain awful at sieging towers. This should tell you how powerful Twitch's damage and teamfighting actually is, since he's the strongest adc in the current patch and can't even siege towers. So basically, don't try it. If you don't have a numbers advantage or other champions who can damage towers safely then this just isn't the optimal use of twitch. You want to get picks or teamfights and turn those wins into objectives after.

Twitch's kit obviously lends itself to lots of AoE. So if your team has any type of peel for you at all and/or more AoE components then you probably want to be looking for teamfights. This means the best places to fight are generally the places where you can use your AoE the best in clumped up areas like Dragon/Baron and the pathways leading to it in the jungle. This lines up the enemy team for your ult and gives you insane teamfight damage. Synergies All these mids bring tons of peel and safety for twitch with their utility. In addition to that they also bring aoe damage or cc to help set up your ultimate damage. Kayle specifically can be incredibly devastating if she lands several autos on clumped up targets because of her passive shred. And kayle ulti with twitch is kinda insane for teamfights. Also an honorable mentions to supports/junglers like and a host of others who have greet peel and protection. These champions, along with several others, are just really strong at flanking or making picks in the midgame. This means you're always looking for that one person who's even slightly out of position to punish them and find a free kill. Counters All of these things kinda come from diving onto you in the backline and significantly reducing your damage in some way mostly through attack speed slows. This will make it really hard for you to kite in fights and get out your damage. Honorable mentions to things like and many others who are just hard lockdown and dive. This is very hard to deal with without appropriate peel and protection from your team. All these things reveal stealth along with a few other champions in the game. So you should really be careful of these things and relying on Ambush to keep you out of sight when trying to escape or approach a flank.
