For me, Graves is the best AD carry to choose. Sure, he doesn't have % health damage like [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png] and [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png], but he's VERY strong. At the end of the build I mentioned above, you can actually solo Baron if you use your [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] properly. At the end of the game with an [imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png], your crits will be doing around 1000 damage, enough to three-shot any squishy target and, come on, even [imgsmall=champ/olaf.png] can't stand up to that kind of damage at such a high speed. Also, some things are spelt differently because I'm English, not American. For example, I say defence, not defense but, potato potato, they mean the same thing

[title]Explanations[/title] [.]Flat AD - Easier last-hitting [.]Armor - Take less harass in lane [.]Magic res per level - You won't be harassed with magic damage nearly as much as physical damage in lane, and that's still not even close to how much magic damage will be thrown at you in teamfights [.]AD per level - AD carrys are for late game, per level runes give more stats at late game, so I feel that they're best for AD carrys

I mean, 30 extra armor and magic res, that's insane compared to what other AD carrys will have [title][img=skills/graves/q.png] Q: Buckshot [/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Harass in lane, poke, finish, general damage, being a badass. This skill does such great damage. Paired with a [imgsmall=champ/katarina.png], you can [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] to the enemy team and [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] [imgsmall=skills/graves/r.png] combo them to half-ish health and let Kat finish the rest. It does more damage when you're closer to the enemy. Now you may be saying, "I'll die if I get close" but you'll have cc-ed them with the strongest cc of all, death... jk, don't go in, just hit the divers as you run [title][img=skills/graves/w.png] W: Smokescreen[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Good utility. You can slow someone ahead, blind someone in brush to set up an easy gank, juke chasing enemies maybe even cs if two creeps are low at the same time to impress your support with your ingenuity. It takes a second for the blind to take effect, so wait before performing a sick juke or they'll see you [title][img=skills/graves/e.png] E: Quickdraw[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Run away, close the gap for a max damage [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png], generally attack faster, chase and get over the smallest walls on the map. The cooldown goes down as you use basic attacks, so with my full item build, it'll feel like you have a 0 second cooldown if you're constantly attacking [title][img=skills/graves/r.png] R: Collateral Damage[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Huge aoe damage, pick people off, look like a badass when you fire it and walk away and snipe people when they just want to back and live a happy life with their family. This ult is kinda what I would expect for a carry's ult as [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/corki.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/draven.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/tristana.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/twitch.png]'s does aoe damage, [imgsmall=champ/varus.png]'s can do aoe damage, let's just ignore [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png]'s and [imgsmall=champ/sivir.png]'s ults

[title]Explanation[/title] [imgsmall=skills/graves/w.png] is a 1 point wonder, so max it last [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] does the most damage outside of your ult, so max it first [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] causes you to do the second most amount of damage outside of your ult, so max it second [imgsmall=skills/graves/r.png] is your ult, max it asap

[title]Starting items[/title] [imgsmall=items/long-sword.png] will allow you to get a fast [imgsmall=items/vampiric-scepter.png] and as a result, a faster [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] [imgsmall=items/berserkers-greaves.png][imgsmall=items/enchantment-homeguard.png] allows you to lane more and therefore level more, cs more, and run to teamfights or standoffs after backing faster [imgsmall=items/avarice-blade.png] is a gp10 that builds into an item that you will get later, so you may as well get it soon. It also now gives you [imgsmall=champ/twistedfate.png]'s passive, making every cs after you get it worth more [title]Core Items[/title] [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] and [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png] were core before and they're great now [imgsmall=items/blade-of-the-ruined-king.png] synergises well with [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png] because health % damage and attack speed is amazing [imgsmall=items/statikk-shiv.png] does 100 damage to 4 people, but it can crit which means that you can do 1600 damage every few autos, which is a lot in my, and many other peoples' opinions [imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png] was great in season 2, it's great in season 3, especially with the attack speed after crits mastery because you'll get a super crit, then attack faster for more super crits and so on and so forth

A lot of these tactics, if not all will involve you taking damage in return. A good idea to minimise this return damage is to wait for your passive to stack before going in [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png] She's really fragile early game, abuse this by constantly performing your [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png] All she wants to do is auto attack you, abusing her range advantage. When the player right clicks on you, [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png] will gain a yellow outline and she will most likely be running past her ranged minions to get to you, when you see this, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo her and she'll most likely back off. If not, follow up with some auto attacks [imgsmall=champ/corki.png] He'll be wanting to q you a lot of the time, once again, when he gets close, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo him. [imgsmall=champ/draven.png] He does ridiculous damage with his q up so use your [imgsmall=skills/graves/w.png] just as he begins to attack a minion to make him lose vision of where the axe will fall. If he drops the axe, it's safe to go in for a [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo [imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png] His q doesn't go through minions, your q does, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] just in front of his ranged minions (assuming he's just behind them) and and finish the combo with [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png] He harasses with his huge range and % damage on his w. The problem is, he can slow you if you dash in, so this match up is down to supports. Having a support that can lock [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png] in place like [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] or [imgsmall=champ/zyra.png] really helps [imgsmall=champ/sivir.png] She will try to q, aa, w combo you and shield when you [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] in, expecting a [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png], ignore the shield by just auto attacking, chasing her and finally [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] when the shield ends [imgsmall=champ/tristana.png] The active of her e is how she harasses freely, although, it has a fairly low range so you can, you guessed it, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo her [imgsmall=champ/twitch.png] Much like [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png], he's squishy early. Unlike [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png] though, he has his stealth, which no doubt he'll activate when you try to [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo him. But, well, [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] is aoe, so it will still hit him even if he manages to stealth in time and if it really takes you 3 seconds to [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] after using [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png], then you probably shouldn't play Graves [imgsmall=champ/varus.png] He has higher damage on his auto attacks than probably all other AD carrys early with his passive w. He harasses by hitting 1-3 times with basic attacks and then using another ability, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] can dodge these abilities (especially e) which nicely leads into a [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] for a chunk of damage [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png] All she wants to do is farm and reach late game. Her range is really low, so harass her and make her miss as much cs as possible with your, wait for it, [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo [imgsmall=champ/missfortune.png] She dominates early game, just don't fuck with her until you have a fully stacked [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] and a [imgsmall=items/zeal.png], that's when I've had the most luck 1v1-ing an MF What you have to remember is that there is more than just another AD in the lane, if the enemy has a support like [imgsmall=champ/taric.png], [imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png] or [imgsmall=champ/leona.png], after dashing in, you'll have put yourself out of position and made yourself easy pickings for them, resulting in death (anyone's q, w, e and r all have a shorter cooldown than [imgsmall=summoners/cleanse.png]

[imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] He's an annoying, tanky mo-fo than is really hard to dodge. If your support warded and you can see him, it's extremely difficult, but I believe that you can dash, bringing him with you, but you'll be cced in a much safer location. It's really up to your support to peel off their AD carry if you get hit [imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png] You can [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] out of the way of his grab. If you hit some minions a few times, your [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] will be up again before his q is [imgsmall=champ/leona.png] Same as [imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png], but with her e instead of his q [imgsmall=champ/lulu.png] Lulu is about poke and reacting when things get crazy, just look at Graves's splash art, he shot up an entire bar, yea, he makes things get crazy. This one's all about your support not letting Lulu react to the situation [imgsmall=champ/nunu.png] He can't really help his AD carry if things get real, he really just stands there, blood boiling the AD and snowballing you. He's melee though, and his e has quite a short range. Most Nunu's will try to poke you down with snowballs, when he does this [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo him. His AD carry will most likely be too far away to help because he's snowballing to zone you away, bringing him with you [imgsmall=champ/sona.png] She'll usually be camping the brush, waiting for you to get in range and her q to come off of cooldown. Hopefully your support wards the brush that she's in because then you can put a [imgsmall=skills/graves/w.png] on her, allowing you to harass her AD carry while she can't see or react [imgsmall=champ/soraka.png] Soraka is bad for supporting an AD carry in every way other than her heal. She increases her carry's magic res, which doesn't help them, she lowers your magic resist, it doesn't help them, she silences you, for the most part, it doesn't help them. The heal becomes really good at rank 3, so level 5, but what beats sustain: burst and Graves has a lot of that. Once the armor from her heal goes away,[imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png][imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] combo her AD carry to death [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] when you see his stun coming at you so that he can't follow up. He falls off late game, so survive until then and it's pretty mush a 4.5 vs 5... unless you have a Teemo, then it's a 4.5 vs 3, because Teemo will most likely make someone go afk as well as being a bad champ [imgsmall=champ/janna.png] [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] out of the way of her tornado. Ignore the shield, don't break it, that's why she put it there in the first place

[title]Before Minions Spawn[/title] Don't pick your first ability until you know if you're going to be invaded or not. It's much better starting with [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] and keeping flash than starting [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] and losing flash or dying. That said, if you're not invaded or jumped on, start with [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] to be able to poke earlier in lane [title]Laning[/title] If your support has warded the brush in the lane and you can see their support waiting for things to get real, put a [imgsmall=skills/graves/w.png] on them for some free harass on their AD carry [title]'After' Laning[/title] (Laning never ends, that's why the air quotes are there) If you are being chased, run one way, put a smoke bomb on the enemy and turn around, they will think that you kept running forward

Farm, harass, everything that you normally do as an AD carry

After getting your [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png], go full farm mode. Kill the wraiths, wolves, red, mini golems, top lane, mid lane, bottom lane because you want to get the [imgsmall=items/blade-of-the-ruined-king.png] asap for any teamfights to own any pesky [imgsmall=champ/chogath.png], [imgsmall=champ/renekton.png], [imgsmall=champ/olaf.png], etc that's going for you

Own in teamfights, split push with [imgsmall=items/statikk-shiv.png] (AD carrys can ward too you know, buy a ward, stop a gank, save a life, wards), farm and walk in circles in standoffs (unless the other AD is farming, then you can't let them get ahead, yell at your team until they start the 5v4 where the enemy doesn't have an AD carry)

Kite divers with [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] and hit the closest thing to you, unless it's an assassin, then you need your team to peel for you, if they don't, they're bad and you may lose the game because of it

Graves is a great AD carry with a lot of burst due to [imgsmall=skills/graves/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/graves/r.png], really tanky compared to other carrys using [imgsmall=skills/graves/p.png], has great utility because of the mini [imgsmall=champ/nocturne.png] ult that is [imgsmall=skills/graves/w.png] and ridiculous sustained damage with [imgsmall=skills/graves/e.png] and your basic attacks. In all, he's a very safe choice as a carry which doesn't combo badly with many, if any other team-mates but can combo extremely well with other specific champions such as [imgsmall=champ/jarvaniv.png] (no dodging ult in the ring) and [imgsmall=champ/katarina.png] (you both have aoe burst)
