(3/1/15) Specification on this Guide Added more champion match ups In-depth on multiple sections (1/16/15) Patch 5.1 Say no more to mana problems! (If there was any...) Added more champion match ups Late Game (12/15/14) Added more champion match ups. Updated runes Itemization Fixed some sections. Note: Mid-lane is similar to top-lane, but this guide is specifically for top lane . (11/18/14) Preseason Update Champions match up Itemization So far it's favoring hecarim a lot. The new items might be aiight. (9/8/14) Hello everybody! I'd like to introduce you to Hecarim, the Shadow of War, the horse hunter, the headless horse slayer. I've been experimenting this guy heavily in the top lane, and I gotta say, in my conclusion, he's one wrecking horse. Pros: SAY NO MORE TO MANA PROBLEMS 1000 Movement Speed, zooms past by the enemy. Sustainable in lane AoE useful during teamfights Can WIN lane if played correctly (He's pretty easy, I will teach you! :D) Mixed damage is highly unexpected Both sides of damage and TANKINESS Cons: Not in the meta yet, but hoping you can spread this around!

Spam Q against bad champions and you will expect some crazy nasty damage youd never see before. Some say his early game is horrible but I'd say it's a piece of cake. The first step to do is to get to your level 2 early on. That means push as fast as you can, (kill the minions and acquire gold), and ward to see if the opposing jungler is coming. Why should you push? At an early level, your combination of and will help you minion clear pretty quick as well as healing off of them with sustain. There's no way you should lose lane when pushing, unless it is against a ranged champion. Just keep in mind that you wave clear pretty darn fast. When should you try to get a kill? When you're in range to damage them with autoattacks or with your use of your abilities of and (This one has AoE damage). I can guarantee you that at level 2/3, they will be hurt to half their health bar or so. Remember to chunk a few s or so. At level 6, that's a sign of going all in with your and . Always after ultiing, use to knock them back. IF they decide to run away with this trash summoner , you still have , to chase them down. Remember to dive appropriately of turret range. If you're not comfortable diving or fighting at 6, then don't. Just do it when you feel you can, like during a gank or so. Early game, you should definitely work towards a and . Your objective should be that top tower. On a side note, I realized for me that I push pretty fast sometimes and I feel like I'm pretty useless at top lane for around 20 seconds or so, without nothing to farm. This is the perfect time to roam towards mid lane and gank there. Start using around the mid brush, and go around the ledge to complete your gank.

At this point of the game, you should be winning your lane and already taken out your first objective of the first top tower. You should continue on pushing and diving appropriately when you get the chance of doing so, safely. You can also roam elsewhere to complete other objectives such as dragons and other towers, as well as run over any other enemies. Note that if you notice your top lane is close from being attacked by enemy minions, you should definitely run up there and clear it ASAP. Remember to ward deep when choosing to stay top lane. However, if you're not winning lane, continue on farming, and ask your jungler to come gank. You should be finished with and/or , and begin to build a or health items.

As the game continues on, becomes more feared than ever. His item should be complete and you can easily chunk down enemies. Continue to get objectives, continue to feast on your farm. *********NOTE********* I personally don't like teamfights late late game. Communication may be a barrier when either split pushing or your team is fighting without you. Honestly, his scaling late game is quite weaker than mid game so keep an eye on that. Try not to snowball so much.

For teamfights, you should definitely add pressure to a side lane. Tell your team to not engage in a fight cause it will take you time to get there since you do not have summoner . Once you have pushed up against the enemy second turret or so, this is your opportunity to either take the turret, or if you see an enemy approaching you, press your nos button get out and/or go to your team and fight. When in teamfights, you should be close to the front line, or even go behind the \"enemy team\" to collapse them with your . The AoE provided by that will help get you to their enemy back lane of their ADC or mage. IF you realize you're being locked down by too much CC, you need to tell your team to help you out ASAP.

In conclusion, is such an amazing top laner right now. A lot of fun to play him. Don't be scared of diving. It takes a lot of practice just to decide whether to go in or go out. Take this guide and apply it to your playing style! Thanks for reading, comment if any questions.! :D (Will add more opponent match up, or comment here to see which opponent matchups you'd like to see)
