Hail friend! In case you are not aware, this is my guide for Anivia. Now that the difficult part is over with, Anivia is a control mage. In the sense she controls the area around herself with the threat of her abilities from the enemy point of view. She is very slow, and very soft and is of no threat to people outside of her range but she more than makes up for it as all 5 of her abilities are amazingly strong, if you are in Anivia's threat zone especially if you are a squishy you are in some serious trouble. Anivia has massive damage with her basic abilities, fantastic playmaking with her wall and a freaking Guardian angel passive! Anivia is one of my first choices midlane due to her safe and strong laning phase and her fantastic scaling. Anivia doesn't have a weak point throughout the entire game. Season 3 Stats [imgext=] [imgext=] Season 4 Season 5 My LoLKing: Poros [.] 1 AP ratios on basic abilties [.] Team fight deciding massive play making wall [.] Extremely safe and obnoxious wave clear post-6 [.] Guardian angel passive [.] Easy to land and very powerful lane poke [.] Strong throughout all stages of the game. [.] Safe laner means she safe to first pick. [.] Very long autoattack range. Cons [.] Mechanically demanding makes her considerably more difficult to play than an average champion. [.] Slowest projectile in the game [.] VERY mana intensive, reliant on blue buffs and mana items. [.] Slow and soft. [.] Short effective range. [.] can really mess things up when used poorly. [.] Difficult to last hit with outside of using ult to farm

VS AP Laner ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is just the perfect go to item for Anivia, everything about it fits her perfectly. As a mega mana hungry mage(arguably the most mana dependent in the game) the huge flat amount of mana is great for Anivia since regen alone cannot cover her mana usage as she will run dry a 1000 mana pool extremely quickly. The catalyst proc itself is also great for sustaining lane since you can be 100% certain that you won't be on full mana or health when you level up during laning phase. This item literally has it all for her in 1 purchase which is why it is such an important and powerful first item on her. The health is also very welcome since Anivia is pretty close range and is bound to take some punishment, in addition due to her passive she double dips in health so in a 1vs1 situation the 300 health on Rod becomes 600 health. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This item is too good to go without on a Anivia! It will provide her only source of armour and the utility from Hourglass in invaluable since once someone gets on Anivia the chances are they will stick on her so the active on this + her egg means enemies have to dedicate a rather large period of time if they want to finish off the bird. An important note however with this item is that Anivia can't channel Glacial Storm during Hourglass. ----------------------------------------------------------------- As with all other primary damage dealing mages, these 2 are just mandatory. There isn't a build out there without both of these that will do more damage than a build with them. Even if the enemy team doesn't build magic resistance the Void Staff still offers too much damage to pass up on. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I get this on top of RoA to get that unstoppable mana pool, once stacked with RoA you shouldn't have any mana issues whatsoever. The end game item is also amazing with a really useful shield and massive AP pool thanks to the huge amount of flat mana you have on your items. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Typically the best boots to get on most mages, Anivia benefits well with getting boots relatively early compared to others due to how valuable the move speed is on her as she is by default painfully slow but needs to move around a lot so the enemies will really feel the 15mpen considering how early Anivia should get it. Late game you can swap them out for and in some occasions you can pull off going if you REALLY need to move about. What tier 3? [imgsmall=items/enchantment-alacrity.png] - 20 movement speed, it's quite simply but it is also quite good. This is the competitor with Distortion for enchantment of choice in a standard game. This is typically my choice of enchant for Anivia as the 20 movespeed goes a long way for her playstyle. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Other items to consider Of the defensive items to get, this is the one to get. Oh yeah maximum troll mode engaged! Anivia with 2 GA's up is just absolute annoyance to the enemy team since they will have to kill you twice to finally bring you down, and with Anivia not being reliant on an ult cooldown her usefulness after being revived is as strong as ever. Having GA and Egg up at the same time also works as a sort of deterrent to the enemy, they will be reluctant to attack you over others due to the effort required to kill you(especially assassins) so it works as a sort of mindgame self-peeling. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is a brilliant sustained damage item, the synergy this has with is fantastic. Especially glacial storm where the item basically adds a 4% current health burn onto it to whoever is caught in the ult. This item is ideal for tank burning, if the enemy team is that tanky and has unstoppable Mundo's and Shyvanas' this is the item to go! ----------------------------------------------------------------- If you are feeling brave and greedy you can choose to go for this over Hourglass as a pure damage choice over the safety of Hourglass. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Not so great items The only reason this item should be considered is if you are a close range magic damage dealer who is in need of MR but it just isn't in practice that good for Anivia. If she REALLY needs the MR to consider investing in it then GA trumps this item, and due to the nature of how Anivia plays ofter this items aura won't be made use of as she will leave its range with her Q/R ----------------------------------------------------------------- With so many built in slows and the lack of benefit of having this slow there isn't really a point in getting this item. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Not a bad item to actually get it is just that it isn't as good as other options, there isn't a situation where Anivia will benefit more from spellvamp than she would the utility or damage offered from another item.

Early game in lane depends entirely on your opponent. If your opponent is strong early on or you don't want to fight or get outplayed just simply last hit and keep your Flash Frost available and use it as a defensive stun should the enemy try anything aggressive on you. If you feel like you can win the lane early, abuse Anivia's autoattack range(600) from level 1, you will want to harass as much off them as possible. Throw an autoattack then back off before it lands to avoid minion aggro. As soon as you hit level 2 you can start throwing iceballs at your enemy, if the ball hits them and preferably you stun them follow up with a Frostbite and an autoattack. Depending on the durability of your laner it might only take 2 of these combos to kill them(obviously with the aid of Ignite) Either way the end goal is the same whether you got a kill or not. The goal being your first back with you having at least 1200 gold so you can buy a catalyst. The item is simple a must as it sustains Anivia in lane massively. After first back you will have access to your ult. With blue this can be used to AFK farm, just put it down on the minion wave and clear it in a few seconds making Anivia a truly annoying pusher against most champions. Although if you are stronger than your laner you will want to avoid this and force them to come to you to last hit minions, this is where you can use as a harass, against soft laners this is a really obnoxious harass as it cannot be dodged and deals very high damage. Kill attempts can be made with Flash Frost after sufficient harass. Later backs you will want to get your completed or if it is required you may need to get against some AD champions.

Mid game, outside of trying to kill your laner tends to go like this. Use glacial storm on the wave to push it really hard and forcing your laner to commit their time to counter pushing. After you clear the wave you can go to your wraith camp as Anivia is very good at clearing Wraiths especially with blue buff. Or you can(and should) go make aggressive plays with your jungler. Post-6 Anivia and especially Anivia with blue buff is a great midlane to accompany a jungler in skirmishes due to her lack of reliance on an ultimate cooldown, her storm is generally always available. Her wall is also fantastic for catching people in the enemy jungle and is bound to get people to blow flashes or risk death. Finally, due to Anivia's passive, killing her even in a 2vs2 is very difficult as people cant just afford to attack the egg with a jungler beating on them. You can also just roam bot lane after pushing and preferably forcing your laner to back(to avoid counter ganks) as Anivia's make it extremely difficult to get past her alive if she is to gank a lane from behind. Anivia is however very slow so don't expect much if they have it warded! When doing things like dragon, don't use your abilities on it unless you know you have the mana for it as it may be needed if the enemy try and stop you. is a waste on Dragon since it cannot be chilled so the Frostbite cannot crit. On the other hand if it is the enemy team doing dragon you can place your ult down in the dragon pit as far as you can if they let you to force them to stop, additionally you can try wall off the entrance with your ult up to trap them in the pit.

Late game has 3 main points. Don't go wandering alone, Anivia isn't particularly fast. Although she may have some good tools to kite/flee these may not be enough especially if its a hunting party led by Leona with Talisman. On the other hand, do go as part of a hunting party, if your team spot some clueless marksman farming on his own toplane or something Anivia is a great champ to have in the hunt thanks to her wall. If you are chasing someone and you put a well placed wall you are bound to catch them if not at least blow flash. Finally there is Baron, This is similar to the dragon section above except you should be more focused on zoning enemies than damaging the baron itself, be it placing down walls to completely cut off people or using your ultimate for zone control. When it comes to sieges, If you are the Attackers you should be looking for opportunities to catching people off guard with your or , if no one is in range for that what you can do is place your ultimate beside the tower you are attacking to deny the amount of room the enemy have to move with. Also, don't forget to attack the damn tower! You have more than enough range to do so safely.

Teamfights are ... messy for Anivia, there generally isn't a plan you just act as it goes. You might get to freely do damage without anyone attacking you, you might get dived immediately. Either way all the abilities of Anivia get used in roughly the same way for teamfights. - This is the simplest ability, you just use it on whoever is chilled. If multiple targets are chilled you target whoever is the highest priority for death. This is a low enough cooldown for it to be the least thought out ability. - is used in 3 occasions, you either aim it at enemy priority targets(Mage/Marksmen) to stun them and hopefully follow it up with a Frostbite. Or it is used to hit as many people as possible for an AoE stun or finally, you just use it for self defence to peel for yourself or a friendly from an enemy diver. - Is used for 3 situations, the easy for on demand damage on a target, maximum AoE damage(IE you put it down where it affects as many enemies as possible for the longest period of time) and finally zone control, where you place it in an area where it forces the enemy team to split up or walk through the ultimate, this function is very similar to Anivia's wall and thus should only be done when the wall isn't available . - This is the ability that gets the most comments since this can make or break a teamfight. I can't tell you how to use it in a teamfight since every situation that it is used is unique. Generally you want to place it somewhere in the teamfight where it separates the enemy from each other. Sometimes however you can use the wall for self-peeling or peeling for a friendly but take caution with the wall since you can very easily accidentally save enemies with a misplaced wall.
