So, i basically explain my mindset of how I play Cassio in this video that I did commentary on. I hope it helps.[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joGkcNtOO1w[/youtube]

[imgext=http://i.imgur.com/ONrij.jpg] I would go this runeset, if I dont need the survivability from Fort quints. I go fortitude quintessence when i'm playing against a strong mid and jungle so i can survive ganks. I usually go fort quints against lanes like ryze, veigar, and sion. It also depends on their jungle as well... If i was laning against a sion, ryze, and veigar... but their jungle was like a warwick or a amumu.. i wouldn't go health quints because they cant gank/kill before level 6. Going ap quints means you want to really emphasize on your early game dominance and deal more damage throughout the whole game. Going fort quints means you want to be able to survive ganks, while harassing your opponents. Update: Changed glyphs from ap per level to flat mr glyphs. Flat Mr glyphs are better against other ap middles because it'll help you win trades.

[imgext=]Hello Everyone, Cassiopeia is very high skill cap champion to play, but also one of the strongest if not the strongest AP champion in the game. She is a very neutral and standard pick and usually always a good pick. I definitely recommend playing and mastering her, if you're an aspiring ap player.

Starting: [item=boots-of-speed][item=health-potion3] Explanation: Boots and 3 potions is always the best to start with Cassiopeia =D. It gives you lane sustainability and the option to trade with your opponents. Early Game: [item=dorans-ring] x 2 or 3. You need to go doran's ring for the survivability because Cassiopeia is one of the strongest laners in the game. You want to take advantage of her skill set and dominate your lane. In order to dominate your lane, you need the health doran rings gives to prevent yourself from dying. After buying a few dorans and having boots, it is essential to itemize correctly. You want to buy [item=sorcerers-shoes] if you're dominating your lane and YOU feel like you could continue to pick up kills with an offensive build. If the opponent has a self sustaining lane and he/she is trying to outlast you, YOU must buy [item=hextech-revolver]. With the hextech revolver, it will help you out lane your opponent with your strong harass and sustain. Going with sorc shoes, means you want to burst your opponent down. If you built [item=hextech-revolver] after your dorans, then now build level 2 boots. You have two options: [item=mercurys-treads] or [item=sorcerers-shoes] You build mercury treads if the opponents have HIGH cc and HIGH ap damage. If you feel like you can kill them and the dorans/ hextech is enough, then build sorcs. Mid Game: [item=hextech-revolver] ==> [item=will-of-the-ancients] Now this is the tricky part. [item=rabadons-deathcap] or [item=rylais-crystal-scepter] or [item=abyssal-scepter] Basically, get the deathcap if the opposing team has a low damaging team or if the other team does not have an initiate that can pick you off. Buy Abyssal, if the opposing team has a high burst team and the only way they can win is if they 1 shot you. Buy Rylais if the opposing team has many melees and you need to kite. After purchasing one of those three items, your build should be something like this: [item=sorcerers-shoes][item=dorans-ring][item=dorans-ring][item=will-of-the-ancients] with either : [item=rylais-crystal-scepter] or [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] or [img=items/abyssal-scepter.png] If you bought: [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png], you would usually build this: [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] Build 1: You usually build death cap after because with rylai's you would have enough survivability and now you need damage. Build 2:If you bought: [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png]. then buy this [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png]. You usually buy Rylai after because with deathcap, you would have enough damage and you need to survive. Build 3: If you bought [img=items/abyssal-scepter.png], then build [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png or [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] You would usually build deathcap after Abyssal, if you need more damage and the abyssal stops you from dying. If the opponent can only wins if they burst you down, then build rylai's to out sustain your opponent and win the game. With Build 1 and 2, you will buy this: [img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png][img=items/void-staff.png]. Hourglass first if you need to to survive. Void staff first if you need the damage. Build 3: [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png][img=items/void-staff.png]. Deathcap first, if they dont have that much MR. Voidstaff first if they have a shit ton of MR. I will make a video talking about building cassiopeia as a champion. Please please watch the video, it is highly recommended and it will teach you everything you need to know about building her from the ground up.

[title][img=skills/cassiopeia/p.png] Passive: Deadly Cadence[/title] [number]After casting a spell any subsequent spellcasts will cost 10% less for 5 seconds. This ability stacks up to 5 times.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Cassiopeia's passive really goes well with her skill set. All of her spells are very short cooldown, so she can spam her spells to kill baron, kill dragon, and even push lanes with ease. It is very important to always keep track of what stack your passive and use your mana wisely. if you understand Cassio well and play her a lot. You should be able to understand how much mana it takes for you kill an enemy at X amount of health. [title][img=skills/cassiopeia/q.png] Q: Noxious Blast[/title] [number]Cassiopeia blasts an area with a delayed high damage poison dealing 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+90% Ability Power) over 3 seconds, granting her 15% / 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% increased Movement Speed if she hits a champion for 3 seconds.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Noxious Blast is Cassiopeia's Bread and butter spell, THE MOST IMPORTANT SPELL. If you can't land your Nox blast, you wont be able to combo up twin fang. If you don't land you noxious blast, you won't get the additional movement speed it takes to catch an opponent and follow up. I recommend learning cassiopeia without smartcast first to understand ALL ranges. Once you've understand all ranges, you can play with smart cast. Playing with smart cast will make you an exponentially better player. [title][img=skills/cassiopeia/w.png] W: Miasma[/title] [number]Cassiopeia releases a growing cloud of poison that last for 7 seconds. Any enemy that passes through it is poisoned for 2 seconds, dealing 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 (+15% Ability Power) each second and slowing them by 15% / 20% / 25% / 30% / 35 % contious exposure renews this poison.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Miasma is basically used to land on an opponent, if you miss your nox blast. If you miss your nox blast, throw out miasma. Once they've been inflicted with the poison, you can combo up with twinfang until your noxious blast goes off cooldown. You can also use miasma in a straight up battle against a melee. You just drop miasma on the opponent and constantly twin fang the opponent with only a .5 cooldown. Always remember to inflict the opponent with Nox Blast when it gets back up. Or just to slow them if u dont have any spells up. Cassiopeia's W gives vision of the location where she casts the spell on. Use it to check brushes. [title][img=skills/cassiopeia/e.png] E: Twin Fang[/title] [number]Cassiopeia deals 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+55% Ability Power) magic damage to her target. If the target is poisoned then Twin Fang's cooldown is reduced to .5 seconds..[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Twin Fang is pretty straight forward spell. You cast it when the opponent is inflicted with poison. Its cooldown goes to .5 seconds. The most important thing to know is that the closer you're to the opponent, the faster it will go off cooldown. The Cool down is Travel time + .5 seconds. So when you're comboing your twinfang with Nox Blast, make sure to run closer and closer to the opponent. Only run closer and closer to your opponent if they are running and there is no way they can kill you. Obviously if you're low, just kite properly . [title][img=skills/cassiopeia/r.png] R: Petrifying Gaze[/title] [number]Petrifying GazeCassiopeia deals 200/325/450 (+60% Ability Power) magic damage to all enemies in front of her. Enemies facing her are stunned for 2 seconds while enemies facing away are slowed by 60%. [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Cassio's Ult, a very straightforward spell as well. I can't teach you how to use this. But i'll go over all the basics. This is cassio's ult and you want to be as effective as possible. You usually want to use this as a stun or a slow, to be able to combo up with your Nox and Twin Fang combo. After you've landed the first Nox and Twin fang, it should be able to continue to land More and more. Using Cassio's ultimate correctly will go down to your experience and decision making. Sometimes, it is better to ult the right targets more so than go for Numbers of champions. You have to be really patient with Cassio's Ultimate sometimes and wait to ult 5 people that are running at you.

Farming on cassio is very straight forward. You want to manage your mana well before you can get blue buff. Your main objective is to steal enemy blue wraith from their jungle as much as possible. Once you've gotten blue, you can constantly push your lane with 2 Nox Blasts. After you clear your lane, you have the option of farming, your wratihs, their wraiths, your wolves or roaming to get a kill. Do not roam unless you know what you're doing. Don't roam unless you're confident that you'll be able to get a kill. Once you've gotten blue, cassio gets significantly powerful. Try to always steal the enemey wraiths when it is up, however do not put yourself at risk of dying and losing blue just for 1 wraith camp. By farming your wraiths, wolves and their wraiths constantly while pushing your lane up... You'll find yourself like 50 creep kills above the opponent within a few minutes. Farming correctly is essential.

Killing an opponent is easiest when you catch them when they're not expected. Usage of brush is very important on Cassio. If you are unsure that an opponent might be in a brush or not. ALWAYS use Miasmas to check that brush. Cassiopeia's W gives vision of the location where she casts the spell on. When your opponent is taking a path to go top, bottom or dragon, there is always an opportunity to kill your opponent if you know what route they are taking. If you know your enemy will be walking through a certain area, it is an easy kill if you can sneak into a brush where they will pass. Once an opponent approaches that brush, you can easily ULT, Nox blast, Miasma, Twin fang, twin fang, Nox blast, twin fang , twin fang + Ignite... They should be 100% dead.. Even if they're a tank. (Unless they are l ike 10-0 and your like 0-10)

Lane Phase is where Cassio shines the most. She is simply the strongest duelist (1v1 fights) in the game for the laning phase. Cassio is all about lane dominance and winning your lane. Whether you win your lane by creep kills , or your opponent. WINNING UR LANE IS WINNING UR LANE. Before even playing an AP carry, you need to understand two things about soloing Mid; Soloing mid is about your opponent and his/her jungler versus you and your jungler. If your opponent has a weak line up like veigar and Warwick, you know for certain that they cannot possibly kill you with ganks Pre level 6. So always understand your match up. If you're playing against a WW/ Veigar, you can play very very very aggressive against that line up and overextend like crazy until the warwick has reached level 6. Once hes hit level 6, your goal is to play passive and safe after. If you're playing against a Ryze Middle and a Lee Sin Jungler, you should always take precautions and ward very early. Its also not only about their Jungle and solo, but also about your jungle and your own champion. If you also have a strong match-up that can kill them, then it really depends on how aggressive you can play. I won't go into detail though because most players wont understand this until they've reached competitive play.

Cassiopeia is strong throughout all the phases of a game, however she is at her strongest point compared to other champions from level 2~9 onwards. Focus on your lane and farm well. If you cannot kill your opponent, don't force it. Farm Farm Farm. Push your lane out and roam top and bottom. Farm their wraiths and your wraiths and even your wolves. Understand your lane match-up. Pushing out and ganking other lanes is a very strong strategy in this meta.

In Team Fights, Kill the closest target. Be patient with your ultimate and wait till enemies rush at you. Some times it is okay to just ult one person if you can burst them down to make the fight a 4v5. Only engage fights with Cassio, if you're confident that you can land your ultimate on 4~5 people, otherwise just play it safe and kill the closest target. Kite Kite Kite, You land a Nox Blast and you have an additional 25%. There is no reason for your to die. Before a fight, always to poke with Nox Blast and Miasma. Try to lower your enemies before the engage actually starts. Don't use too much mana poking... Spam as much as you want if you have blue. Positioning is key, remember position differently each time accordingly to the champions you're playing against.
