[center][imgext=][/center] Hello there! Welcome to my first guide ever created![img=champ/alistar.png] is my main right now,I love him and I believe he can control the flow of the game. [highlight]From the first time i played him everything felt so right about him![/highlight] I adored his abilities and all the tricks he could pull off and realized that i was going to buy him after the game!At the time i got Ali NO ONE played him,he was something like [imgsmall=champ/kayle.png] back then. Most people thought that he was "too weak" and i laughed at them.I was building him as full CDR/tank at the start and it was ok,but when the "carry+support bot" EU metagame dominated I saw that he could be an awsome pure support with gold per 10 items and no defenses and still tank for the team actually! Then the AP Alistar became the norm and Ali became popular just because Fnatic Shushei was so good with him.It was frustrating to see all those people failing with Ali and thinking they are pros when they executed a W-Q combo once in the whole game...Now he is somewhere between his past state and the "AP caster state",not too many people play him but they know what they are doing this time. Alistar is hard to be really good with at the start,in my opinion,he is for supports what [imgsmall=champ/anivia.png] is for mages, hard to master but extremely useful in the right hands![imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] is the only champion with which I took praise after some good matches by the enemy("wp ali","gg alistar" and stuff like that),and that means a lot for me,it means I am on the right track. I hope this guide will help you become as good as I am with him :P [highlight]But who am I?Let me introduce myself![/highlight] I am George,a Greek player,my main account is "Pouthenas" in EU Nordic & East and my second is a lvl12 NA account named "Toolias12" (I created it when our EU servers where trolling us).In EU I am not high elo,I am a 1400's with only around 42 solo que ranked games under my belt and many normals.I became lvl 30 late into season 1 and preferred to train in normals waiting for season 2,I believe I made the right choice. In fact,I would have even less solo que matches if I didn't want to get the silver badge after the update on the ladder reward tiers :P [highlight]Why have I written this guide?[/highlight] Because I believe this guide will help you take the best out of Alistar and be better than the average Alistars out there, not only because of my unique build, but for the advice and the tips I give. [title]LET'S START THEN!AS ALI LIKES TO SAY,"YOU MUST FOLLOW"![/title]

Why NOT support Ali actually? He is considered the best support by many and he is in the worst case next to Janna in the "Support pyramid" for the rest!Good news,in this guide you will see why he is highly rated as a support and how he can be EVEN better than what most Alis offer to the team! [title]NOTE:[/title]I find it retarded that Alistar still does not have the Support tag when guys like [imgsmall=champ/teemo.png] and [imgsmall=champ/shen.png] do :P Before starting let's talk a bit about what Ali can do instead of supporting and why those choices are inferior: [.]Solo AP:This Alistar is dead and I didn't even like him in the first place.A mage with great CC sounds awsome but that mage has only 2 offensive abilities while all others have 3-4 and the worst ratios(0.5 for pulverize and 0.7 for headbutt). His range is also really small and he can not be unkillable at the start after the nerf on Unbreakable will. [.]Jungle:It is ok.The ganks are great and he can be built AD.But he is an easy target to invade and runs oom fast too without blue.I think of jungle Ali like jungle Irelia, you loose so much of the champion's potential that way.Just like Irelia is made to dominate the solo lane,Ali is made to support and win the bot lane early on.Leave the jungle to someone like [imgsmall=champ/amumu.png][imgsmall=champ/nocturne.png][imgsmall=champ/leesin.png] and do your job the right way! [.]Solo AD:In my opinion this is the best alternative choice. He can be a pure offtank without a problem. The only drawback is that in my eyes he is not a "lane dominator".His Q and W drain his mana fast and he can not afford being aggressive. In solo que you must win your lane no matter what! That's why champs like [imgsmall=champ/renekton.png][imgsmall=champ/rumble.png][imgsmall=champ/jax.png][imgsmall=champ/irelia.png][imgsmall=champ/chogath.png][imgsmall=champ/mordekaiser.png] are more welcome in the solo top lane. One more thing to consider is that the damage from Q and W does not increase with AD. [title]CONCLUSION?SUPPORT ALI BEST ALI![/title]

Oh my fuckin god,how I [highlight]love those MS quints![/highlight]I never regret buying them, they are a must for Alistar, because he is all about the right positioning at the right moment! [title]NOTE:[/title]Gold quints are a very good choice for all other supports, but for Ali i prefer the MS because every milisecond out of action counts for him!!! Clarity yellows are the best for me,they ensure I NEVER get oom during the laning phase. You could change them with armor yellows,I don't think anything else is viable. Armor pen reds are there for the (OP for a support) damage you do mid-end game to their carries with your ult +[imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png].You can swap with magic pen reds for a minimal boost in early game damage,no problem, but you will be autoattacking enemies early on too so armor pen hands down for me. As for the be honest I don't believe MR is an ok choice but i can't find anything else :P.Maybe armor....Or cooldown blues so that you reach 40% CDR end game (with my build and the masteries you reach 36%).Your choice!

[title][img=skills/alistar/p.png] Passive: Trample[/title] [number]Whenever Alistar casts a spell, he gains Trample for 3 seconds ignoring unit collision and dealing 10-23 (+10% ability power) area damage per second (double damage to minions and monsters) [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Meh....I prefer the old tower raping passive to be honest. This passive is nice for jungle-solo Alistar but near useless for support. The only good thing in it is the ignoring of unit collision so that you do your Pulverize-Headbutt combo easily(which wouldn't really be important if Pulverize stunned for 2 seconds like it did before the remake...).It is also good for clearing wraiths mid game when no ally is around so that you actually get a free ward and for helping push the lane if you are going for bottom turret...The reason I don't like this passive is that [highlight]it can actually hurt you during the laning phase[/highlight]:when going aggressive or when you heal near enemy creeps the lane WILL get pushed and you can not do anything about it,which means 3-4 less creeps for your carry or a bigger risk for a successful gank from the enemy jungler. [title][img=skills/alistar/q.png] Q: Pulverize[/title] [number]Alistar smashes the ground, dealing 60/105/150/195/240 (+50% of ability power) magic damage and tossing all nearby enemy units into the air and stunning them for 0.5 seconds. Cooldown 17/16/15/14/13 seconds Cost 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130 mana Range 365 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] [title]DAT PULV![/title]What can you dislike about this spell?Perfect for lvl 1 fights at jungle, perfect for initiating with flash, reliable AoE stun that can not really be reduced by tenacity(1 second is knockup and 0.5 is actually a stun that's why).Oh man,how many times i saved a teammate from 2-3 enemies with just this skill!Nice for babysitting, great for initiating and awsome for ensuring kills for the dps.The animation is also fantastic, every time I pulverize an enemy is like the first time, nothing like watching a raging bull knocking up kids!No wonder why it should be leveled up first, the cdr is SO important. [title][img=skills/alistar/w.png] W: Headbutt[/title] [number]Alistar charges at an enemy and rams them dealing 85/130/175/220/265 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and knocking them back (does not stun). Cooldown 14/13/12/11/10 seconds Cost 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120mana Range 650 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] The utility of this spell is huge. The average Ali player uses it just to save a teammate from single enemy or for completing the Q-W to the allies combo.[highlight]Then they learn to execute W-Q for the mini Malphite ult and they think they have mastered Alistar...NOOOOT[/highlight] [highlight]You can also[/highlight]:1)Headbutt an enemy onto a thick wall and watch us they get mini-stunned only to get stunned again by Pulverize 2)Headbutt an enemy through a thin wall where your allies are waiting to destroy him, this is ultra fun. This of course requires vision with wards or CV and usually flash to get into position. 3)Break channeled spells like [imgsmall=champ/katarina.png] or [imgsmall=champ/malzahar.png] ults. 4)Displace an enemy that is able to melt your teammates, like [imgsmall=champ/fiddlesticks.png] who justs ultied. 5)Escape a gank if you are overextended by headbutting to an enemy minion behind you.Rare but still good. 6)Flash in front of an enemy and then headbutt them back for the semi-blitz hook as I mentioned before! [title][img=skills/alistar/e.png] E: Triumphant Roar[/title] [number]Instantly restore 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+20% of ability power) health to himself and half of that value to surrounding allied units. Cooldown ticks down by 2 seconds each time a nearby enemy unit dies. Cooldown 12 seconds Cost 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 mana Range 200[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title]Nothing special after the laning phase, but very important early on because this is how you sustain the lane.Without this [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] would be better than you at the start but he ain't!Only good for farming jungle creeps with the passive mid game when your allies are back(hey this is solo que,the world doesn't end if you have 45 cs instead of 10 at the end of the match),you need gold too!One last thing...[highlight]This spell can hurt you too unfortunately![/highlight]If you heal near your creeps the lane will get pushed a little,so try to heal only you and the carry or simply tell him why he should be moving a bit away from the creeps so that you can heal him. [title][img=skills/alistar/r.png] R: Unbreakable Will[/title] [number]Alistar gains 60 / 75 / 90 physical damage, and takes 75% reduced physical and magic damage for 6 / 7 / 8 seconds. Cooldown 120 / 100 / 80seconds Cost 150mana Range 1[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] In spite of what most people say about Pulverize and how unique it is,I believe that [highlight]this is Alistar's signature move.[/highlight]It was hit by a pretty strong nerf imo that does not make him unstoppable at early levels but it is basically the same end game.THIS is the skill that makes Alistar so farm independent and makes him the BEST CHOICE FOR SOLO QUE SUPPORTING.I will explain why. So what does this ability do? [.]Cleance effect that counters Suppression too! [.]Makes you tanky with no defence itams at all.[highlight]This makes you more comfortable with carrying an [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png] and allows you to be an initiator, something VERY important for solo que where most tanks mess things up.No other support can do this or they will melt instantly![/highlight]50-60-70% damage reduction for 7 seconds. It was 75% from the start before the nerf, perfect for tower dives at low levels. The 25% reduction on the mitigation of damage REALLY hurt Alistar, because as an agressive Ali I always tanked turret for abour 4 seconds and left with about 200 health, getting 1-2 kills for my team. Now this is less likely to happen without dying, but I just need to learn Ali's new limits i guess.[highlight]Correct timing is everything and only with experience you learn when exactly you should ult[/highlight]. [.]Free AD!Yaaaayyyy!60-75-90 AD.[highlight]Unfortunately only offtank Alistars keep this in mind, support Alistars NEGLECTED it for ages but this changes right now folks![/highlight].I always believed that this ability wasn't used to its full potential by supports and found the way to make it really work.I will talk about it in the "Item builds" chapter and why I think this build is so strong for solo que games.

Nothing to say here, the cooldown reduction from levels on pulverize and headbutt is so important.I remember maxing E second just once when the opposition had a crazy poke team with [imgsmall=champ/gragas.png][imgsmall=champ/nidalee.png] and [imgsmall=champ/galio.png] :P

Let's see.... [img=items/faerie-charm.png][img=items/sight-ward3.png][img=items/health-potion.png] is easily the best choice for starting the game as a support. It allows you to spam heals, have just the right amount of wards with you and be able to rush that [img=items/philosophers-stone.png] as fast as possible.I prefer not taking two health pots cause by the time you might need it you will already be lvl 3 to heal yourself and that 35 gold means a lot when you go b and you don't have to wait for philo or boots. Some might say [imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png][imgsmall=items/health-potion.png] is good too.I believe it rocks for aggressive playstyle early on,i used it sometimes in normal games to bully the enemy solo top when we had no jungler(gotta love these normals...) BUT in a ranked match you don't know if you can afford to be aggressive and you should get [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png] really fast cause your cs is minimal and [highlight]TIME IS MONEY[/highlight]. Afterwards [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png][imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png][imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png][imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png] is obvious.HoG is great cause it synergizes with Ali's ult and [highlight]you need a second gold per 10 item that is useful too after the laning phase[/highlight]([imgsmall=items/avarice-blade.png] isn't really useful until you upgrade it that's why it is the last gold per 10 item you get). When you have your 3 gold per 10 it is time to upgrade those boots.I find [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] the best solution,as [highlight]CC is Alistar's nightmare[/highlight].If you are able to get CC'd 1 second less without using your ult that means a lot during the fight.I believe [imgsmall=items/boots-of-swiftness.png] might be an ok choice too if you are winning the game and want to run around pulverizing people,i have used this in a couple of normals and it was fun but not optimal when you really want to win.[title]Note:[/title]Most Ali players here might wonder why i don't get [imgsmall=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png] as CDR is a must on Ali,i'll show you in a sec. [img=items/shurelyas-reverie.png]Best support item in the game over all [.]It is built from [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png] so when you get it you have actually taken some of your money back. [.]You need health,it works nicely with your ult [.]15% CDR:[highlight]CDR[/highlight] is something Ali should have when mid game fights take place. When I first played Ali i went pure tank and next game full cdr/tank and the difference was huge. When your pulverize is available 3 seconds faster the whole fight can change to your favor. [.][highlight]The active is OP if used the right way.[/highlight]Now you are Ali,with [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png][imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] and [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png] basically, positioning is crucial on him.But it can not only be used as a ghost for you,[highlight]it can save teammates that are not CC'd,secure aces or produce surprise initiations when you are turtling near your turret![/highlight] [title]AND NOW THE TRICKY PART GUYS[/title] [img=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] OMFG LOLWAT YOU CRAZY BRO?WHAT IS A TANKY DPS ITEM DOING ON A SUPPORT? [highlight]I WILL EXPLAIN YOU CLOSE MINDED CRYBABIES![/highlight] [highlight]Question no.1:[/highlight]Does Ali loose anything from his utility? The answer is NO.He gets [highlight]15% CDR summing up to a wonderful 36% total CDR and a mini ghost with the active[/highlight].So the utility as a support actually rises. [highlight]Question no.2:[/highlight]Ok he gets cdr but I don't care that much for the free ghost. This item is too expensive for 15% cdr and the MS steroid,i can just get [imgsmall=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png] instead of [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png] and build tanky, maybe even get a [imgsmall=items/force-of-nature.png] late game and be fine with the MS.What do you have to say now biaaatchhhhh? Well.I can say you are a sheep that follows what everyone else builds and can't reach Ali's full potential.I can tell you how to [highlight]make Alistar broken with a single item.[/highlight]So yeah a tanky Dps item on a support. But wait, isn't Alistar a tanky dps when he pleases?Just think about it,what does a tanky dps need? 1)A damage steroid 2)Some kind of innate tankyness 3)Counter CC to get to the carries BUT ALI DOES NOT HA......OH WAIT!Just by pressing R by mid-late game(this is when you get [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] after all) he gets a free [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png] active,2 [imgsmall=items/bf-sword.png] and OP damage reduction(something around 150 MR and 150 armor actually).[highlight]This screams tanky dps to me,I don't know about you.[/highlight] [highlight]Question no.3:[/highlight]Ok so you say you can transform into a tanky dps after initiating or saving someone, having done your job as a support and waiting for the cooldowns of your spells while tanking the enemy. But is this transformation really necessary?I mean, don't you have other 3-4 people in your team responsible for the damage? GREAT QUESTION MY FRIEND,now I hope I can make you understand finally![highlight]There is a reason supports are considered a bad choice for getting elo cause even if you do everything right, you give full map control,CC people correctly and save allies, the allies can F@CK you up if they can't focus the right enemies or simply are total noobs that can only suicide 1v3 and rage afterwards![/highlight] [highlight]With this build you are able to be a power house and smack those squishy AP casters and AD carries without sacrificing anything from your utility[/highlight][highlight].And the best thing is THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE WITH ALISTAR![/highlight]Imagine [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] getting [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] end game(he has an AD steroid too from his ulty that's why). Now forget it cause he would just vanish without defensive items from the AoE around him before even getting at melee range. You also can't compare [imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] + [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] to something like [imgsmall=champ/janna.png][imgsmall=champ/karma.png][imgsmall=champ/soraka.png][imgsmall=champ/sona.png] + [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png],I explain why in chapter 15! So hear this wonderful scenario:Somebody initiates or you just flash-pulverize-headbutt a helpless enemy into your team, and you find yourself standing near the farmed enemy AD carry who knows that you are not a "priority target" and has learned to ignore all Alistar players after their first round of abilities are used.[highlight]PROVE HIM WRONG.[/highlight]With [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] and your ult you hit for around 240 damage with 50% attack speed,35 armor pen(don't forget the runes)moving like a psycho, you can crit for 480 and you are very very hard to kill.[highlight]All this for 7 seconds by a support with 0 farm![/highlight]And you know what the best part is?You can actually kill the enemy if they took some AoE burst from the rest of your team and if not,by the time your ult is down and Youmuu's active is on cooldown your abilities are ready to use again because of the 36% cdr you have! That carry is dead and you 90% win that end game fight if the rest of your team didnt mess things up badly. [title]THIS IS WHY ALI IS MY WIN BUTTON IN RANKED WHEN I AM SUPPORTING.[/title][title]The enemy won't have a support that can turn into an offtank, but my team can.[/title]You are a carry and 3 offtanks can rape you instead of 2?I know,it sucks :P [highlight]Question no.4:[/highlight]Oh I get it.But I don't like [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png](cause I suck at using item actives during a fight),I just get a [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png] or a [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png],is that ok with you? What are you drinking?Have you ever played support in your life? You can't get these items with 0 farm, they neither give cdr nor are built from a gold per 10 item..... [highlight]Question no.5:[/highlight]Alright relax....And what do I get after [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]? You can get anything,it doesn't matter that much as long as you spam wards and get [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png].If I am lucky and get some kills i can afford [imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png] for uber item active madness,I like the slow it provides. Most of the time though the gold is not enough and i get a [imgsmall=items/chain-vest.png] or a [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png].Taking [imgsmall=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png] is a great choice too,it is the most cost-effective item in the game!I once took [imgsmall=items/zeal.png] when our team was too tanky but had mediocre damage and liked it.You can even sell [imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png] if you feel you don't need it to make room for a better item end game,it would have paid for itself by then and selling it gives you even more gold. [highlight]Question no.6:[/highlight]Hey,I just played a game where the enemy Ali had a somewhat aggressive build too!You are not unique, stfu! He went [imgsmall=items/kages-lucky-pick.png] as third gold per 10 item and made a [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png] afterwards. What do you think smart guy? I think this is a bad choice...And i have seen some Alistars doing it.Let's compare [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png] to [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]: [.]They cost almost the same gold [.]They both give 15% CDR and are built from a gold per 10 iteam that does not offer much [.]ALL the stats of [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] are useful for the way i play Ali end game.On the other hand [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png] gives +60 AP which means a worthless +72 magic damage to your Q-W combo(that is like a Soraka autoattack late game...) and some mana ragen that you don't need cause you already have [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png].That feels like A LOT OF GOLD GOING TO WASTE FOR A CHAMPION THAT DOES NOT FARM [.][imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] gives Alistar mobility too, very important! [.][highlight]The damage from [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png] can not compare to that from a full 7 second rampage with R+[imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png].NO WAY.[/highlight]One thing to consider too is that 99% the defensive item carries get is providing MR cause they get either [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] or [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png] and the Deathfire active does magic damage. With Youmuu's and runes you get armor pen too, which makes the difference even bigger. In conclusion, your final build should look like this: [img=items/shurelyas-reverie.png][img=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png][img=items/mercurys-treads.png][img=items/heart-of-gold.png][img=items/sight-ward5.png] + ITEM OF CHOICE (MR,ARMOR OR ZEAL) + [img=items/oracles-elixir.png] [title]NOTE (13 September 2011 Update):[/title]I'm starting to build [img=items/zeal.png] more and more lately during end-game and I [highlight]REALLY like it[/highlight],i think it might be better than going defensive cause from my experience if you get caught without your ult and a [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png] you are dead anyways!I once tried going for a [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png] after selling [imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png] and having a few lucky kills and my DPS and MS were crazy!Maybe I'll stick to the full offensive build at the future,we'll see! [title]NOTE (26 October 2011 Update):[/title]I was experimenting with [img=items/boots-of-mobility.png] and it is a very good choice when your team has a lead and you want to get aggressive, roaming not just for wards but for feeding your allies if you have destroyed the bot turret and your carry has more than 3 brain cells and can stay at his bot turret last hitting without pushing!I can see this build [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png][imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png][imgsmall=items/boots-of-mobility.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward5.png][imgsmall=items/cloak-and-dagger.png][imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png] as a very viable choice for mid game aggressiveness! It is very similar with [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png]+[imgsmall=items/zeal.png],you just focus on mobility early on for ganking lanes and easier initiations!

A perfect build with 0 gameplay means nothing.Whatever you read in this guide can not help if you are not used to Alistar first of all and the supporting role of course.Let's talk quickly about what you will be doing through each stage of the game. [title]NOTE:[/title]What i will be mentioning are the basics, you can be creative of course and adapt to what is needed to reach victory Let's go.The game begins and you get your starting items after CVing the enemy base. You can 1)Force a lvl 1 fight near the enemy golem if the enemy has a less versatile jungler like [imgsmall=champ/amumu.png] or [imgsmall=champ/rammus.png] thats is starting there 95% AND you have a strong lv1 comp like [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png][imgsmall=champ/alistar.png][imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png][imgsmall=champ/anivia.png][imgsmall=champ/leesin.png].Tell it to your teammates and if they don't agree don't bitch about it.If they agree and you have such a good lvl1 comp it is very likely your team gets a kill and the blue golem, especially at low elo.If your team takes blue tell them to leave a small lizard alive so that the buff will start reseting after the enemy comes dissapointed and kills it.70% of the time some tard in my team kills it and screws everything but ok....The whole purpose of this is to demoralize the enemy and slow down the enemy jungler's path significantly. 2)If those 2 requirements mentioned above are not met(80% of the time) then simply use your second [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] to ensure the enemy is not coming to steal blue and go bot if you are blue side/protect the golem if you are purple side and provide a good leash for the jungler. You can start dominating your lane!At lvl 1 just be careful and try [highlight]zoning[/highlight] the enemy by standing in the bush. When an opportunity arrives and no enemy is in the bushes put a [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] in the one that you think they will be hiding to zone you, according to how the creep waves are pushed. When you are lvl 2 you can start being aggressive and show who is boss, avoid harassment though, you are not lvl3 yet.Keep in mind all the tricks you can pull out with flash to ensure a kill, especially when an enemy has his flash on cd. You might ask why to put that ward on the bush when you can simply use [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] and keep the ward for afterwards. For 2 reasons: [.]When you use CV they know that you can see them, this does not happen always if the enemies are not experienced and didn't see you putting it,so [highlight]you can surprise them[/highlight] after a little mistake they made. [.][imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] should be used more for figuring out the enemy jungler's path or preventing ganks when you feel the jungler is going top/mid. [highlight]Don't hesitate using your flash defensively[/highlight] for saving that careless AD,the team's morale is more important than your flash.People can rage so easily at my elo and it ruins games. Around level 4 you should put your second [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] near the dragon area to prevent ganks in your lane. This is easier when you are blue side cause you just put it between the dragon area and the passage that leads to the enemy golem, then the only way you can't see the jungler is if he went though your jungle(very unlikely) or from bot turret to the bushes when the enemy has pushed the lane(where you already have a ward so no problem). If you are purple side things get a bit more complicated,I prefer putting the ward more below to see if he is coming from the left or from above. When you have enough for the [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png] tell your dps to push the lane so that you can both go b or just ask if he can handle the lane alone for a sec.The ideal would be to get [imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward2.png] too if you dominated the lane and kills took place but this does not happen every game. If you see that the enemy is just too careful and plays really passive don't stand at the back and do nothing, keep zoning them and always keep an eye on the map to give advice and use [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png].By this time your first ward has expired and you refresh it when the opportunity arives. [highlight]Learn to bait opponents[/highlight] into trying to get you when your jungler is ready to gank and then taunt them at /all chat for being stupid, especially if you have your ult. [highlight]After level 6 learn to turret dive correctly but learn your limits too![/highlight]Be sure the enemy jungler or AP mid is not near,or else your dive will be a mega fail dive(it happened to me....) and try anticipating how many turret hits you can handle, especially after the current nerf on Unbreakable Will! [highlight]If a gank went well and the enemy jungler is far away or dead, prefer taking the dragon from taking the bot turret![/highlight] That's because [.]the enemy can take the dragon too and you just can't miss the chance of taking it away from them. [.]In my elo many carries are just dumb and when we destroy the turret they either stay bot and keep pushing away from their turret and rage after getting killed or start roaming mindlessly, trying to gank mid lane with their 0 CC and stealing our jungler's farm.....You can't trust most people in solo que... Of course if dragon is dead the enemy turret is number 1 priority. [title]Note:[/title]THE GLOBAL GOLD DRAGON/TURRETS GIVE EARLY GAME IS A BLESSING FOR SUPPORTS

Things get more vague here and you can start being more creative with your warding and map presence. You are trying to complete your core [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png][imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png][imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png][imgsmall=items/avarice-blade.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward5.png] for maximun gold per 10 gain or leave [imgsmall=items/avarice-blade.png] for afterwards and swap it with [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] if fights are occuring too early(something not uncommon in low-mid elo I believe) You can just stay in lane if their is not much action taking place, but i advise you to [highlight]roam a bit and put wards [/highlight] [.]into the bushes near mid lane at both sides to prevent ganks [.]at the enemy golem's bush around 7 minutes into the game when the blue will be respawning soon and your mid and jungle can attempt a medium risk-high reward gank for a kill and a buff steal with or without you.One of my favorite strategies. [.]A [imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png] at dragon is lovely.I try putting it about 1-2 minutes before the next dragon respawn. That way there is already an enemy ward there or it WILL be into 1-3 minutes, depending on the enemy support's/jungler's timing. [title]NOTE:[/title]When roaaming to plant wards you don't go where you please and facecheck bushes, you use [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] first to make sure no one is around. [highlight]In teamfights [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] is your best friend.[/highlight]Learn the combos you can execute and try having quick decision making. If you anticipate that you will loose a fight, just spam 10000 pings and tell everyone to b,if one of your team is dumb and goes 1v5 it is his problem, the rest of you should defend. Make good use of the [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] active and [highlight]if you have to die to save a teammate with 6-0 score,do it,you cost less gold and the allies always appreciate it when you save their ass,you are a support after all. Then they can start listening more to your suggestions about their shit build or their tendency to roam around baiting your whole team to bad fights.[/highlight] Always ward dragon and Baron when they are up.Keep on your head the time that they respawn because 90% no one else on your team will. [highlight]TURRETS AND BARON ARE NUMBER 1 PRIORITY IN THIS PHASE[/highlight] [title]NOTE:[/title]BARON IS MORE IMPORTANT MID GAME THAN LATE GAME,NEVER LOOSE THE CHANCE OF GETTING IT,I'LL EXPLAIN IN THE NEXT CHAPTER. If you see 1-2 enemies bot when baron is up then FORCE your team to do it and by this time you should be carrying an [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png] to clear the wards that are there too. Try pinging before initiating or saying something like "If i can I initiate with flash,be ready" [highlight]You are Ali,you create kills and save teammates during that phase, but you are not yet the late game BEAST you could be.[/highlight] [title]NOTE:[/title]This is the phase where it is the most unlikely for you to get lucky kills that accelerate your gold gain(hey this is solo que,It's ok if I have 2-3 kills as a support,I rely more on me than the others even though I pretend to be supportive and friendly to raise the team's morale :P) because most team kills are starting with your CC and you are not a threat yet without [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]

[title]NOTE:[/title]MANY GAMES WILL NOT REACH THIS POINT BECAUSE SOMEONE ON BOTH TEAMS MAY SUCK BADLY AND A SURRENDER VOTE MIGHT RUIN YOUR LATE GAME FUN AS ALI [highlight]This is where my build is aiming and where i believe my Alistar is way more useful than the usual Alistars you see every now and then.[/highlight] HERE IS WHERE ALI TURNS FROM THIS [imgext=] TO THIS,IN TERMS OF DAMAGE [imgext=] [highlight]All other Alistars during end game use their CC,protect carries, tank enemy skill shots, initiate, ward,cv and carry oracle.MINE DOES ALL THAT BUT IS A THREAT TO THE ENEMY SQUISHIES AND IS ALSO MORE MOBILE CAUSE HE ACTUALLY HAS A DOUBLE [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png] with [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png]+[imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]![/highlight] So what do you have to do end game? 1)Ward key points in the map like the whole area around Baron and near the lane which one of your allies is going to split push. 2)Use [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] at the right time when an ally is split pushing and you think you can spot those 1-2 missing enemies so that he knows his limits and go for turret or leave. 3)Do what you kept doing before at team fights but [highlight]now that you have [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] you are able to stick on the squishies and surprise them.[/highlight] 4)Smart use of [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] can save lives or secure kills and EVERY DEAD ALLY/ENEMY COUNTS WHEN THE DEATH TIMER IS OVER 9000! 5)Help your team stealing enemy blue/red by standing in a nearby bush or putting a ward there. 6)[highlight]Don't loose the chance to destroy an inhibitor![/highlight]THIS IS ALWAYS WHAT BUGS ME WITH MANY PLAYERS.WE ACE THE ENEMIES OR KILL LIKE 4 OF THEM AND THEY DON'T GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY!THE GOAL OF THIS GAME IS TO REACH THE NEXUS AND THE DESTROYED INHIBITORS HELP A LOT AT IT!THEY THINK THAT DOING TEAM FIGHTS AND FIGHTING FOR BARON ALL DAY IS THE POINT OF ALL THIS!Ok,i'll say it...I believe the Baron buff end game is overrated and only those guys at high elo can really benefit from it!There I said it!+40 AP +40 AD and health/mana regen for pushes is not THAT important when you are not sure if that dumb [imgsmall=champ/fiddlesticks.png] is gonna dive all alone leaving you 4v5 at 40 minutes. That [imgsmall=champ/annie.png] Annie is gonna melt your carry with or without the buff and she can be crushed by your team again with or without the buff.I would also like to say that end game the +300 gold is only important for the supports and actually pays for one of those [imgsmall=items/elixir-of-fortitude.png][imgsmall=items/elixir-of-agility.png][imgsmall=items/elixir-of-brilliance.png] for the others. On the other hand,YOU CAN NEVER REGRET GOING FOR THAT INHIBITOR,IT ADDS PRESSURE TO THE ENEMY BASE AND MAKES SPLIT PUSHING EASIER TOO! [title]NOTE:[/title]Baron is OP mid game and wins games cause it accelerates the builds and at this time the stats it gives actually matter, especially the +40 AD for the AD carries.[highlight]They say Baron wins games and this might be true, but from my experience Baron can loose games too.[/highlight]You can't imagine how many times I won because we aced those guys trying to get Baron when they knew we were near or how many times I lost miserably after 50 minutes of action because those fools on my team didn't hear me and agreed to do Baron with 5 alive enemies missing...Inhibitors can't loose you games though, can they?KEEP PINGING ON THAT INHIBITOR UNTIL THOSE KIDS DECIDE TO FOLLOW YOU! 7)Don't stop pinging those f@cking Nexus turrets!Haven't you been in that situation where your team can get those and your carry thinks it is still farming time with 7 seconds remaining until the enemies respawn?Gotta love solo que... 8)Just before the enemy Nexus is destroyed start dancing or dive at the fountain with [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png]. 9)Congratulate yourself, give praise to those who played well no matter if they are allies or enemies, get your elo and leave.[imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] has proven one more time how useful he is.

TEAM FIGHTS ARE ALL ABOUT QUICK DECISION MAKING,POSITIONING AND FOCUSING THE RIGHT TARGETS. Reading this guide can not help you at that, practice will. But what the hell,I have to write something! So here are the rules: 1)[highlight]Be creative with [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png][/highlight],I have mentioned what you can do with it in the chapter "Summoner Spells".The thing you will be doing 80% of the time is flash-pulverize-headbutt. [title]NOTE:[/title]When my allies are standing next to me and i choose to initiate with flash-pulverize I keep headbutt whenever I feel they can come immediately and burst a target down so that I can use it for protection of my carry/mage 1-2 seconds afterwards that the enemy offtanks will charge in for them. 2)Use your ult when you see you are going below 75% health, you have no defenses and the AoE can make you die.[highlight]There are many Alistar players out there that think that Unbreakable Will is a [imgsmall=champ/tryndamere.png] ult[/highlight],this is not the case. You CAN die with your ult, especially after the nerfs! 3)This is tricky:[highlight]Try zoning the enemy carry out of the big fight.[/highlight]It takes experience as a tank player to know how to do it and the most games i had i was tanking in normals(no one tanks there and I want to win most of the time....)so I think I can talk about it.It is hard to do and hard to explain too and I don't say I can do it always, but when I do it feels great. It actually works like this:Your pulverize needs like 2 seconds to be up after you have used it to initiate/save a squishy, but the enemy dps does not know that! You can walk right next to him and he gets the message "fall back or try getting to my mage and get pulverized" and he stands back for a while even though you can't do anything to him really! 4)Never forget autoattacking after using your ult even before getting [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]! 5)Even though it is not much, use the heal whenever it is up,the ability to move through units with Trample can help you! 6)I've said it twice before, use [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] wisely! 7)[highlight]Be comfortable with dieing when needed[/highlight] as long as the other guys on your team can keep smacking the opponents. You are not playing this game for KDR,you are playing to win. 8)Don't forget that Unbreakable Will is there for the Cleanse effect,if you are snared by a [imgsmall=champ/morgana.png] you should not stand there for 3 seconds being the reason your team lost. 9)Try blocking skillshots that can harm/CC your squishies, especially when your ult is active. 10)[highlight]When you get [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] it is time to put some nice DPS into the fight.[/highlight]The ideal scenario is getting to the carry with Flash-pulverize,headbutting him back. Then you Press R,activate [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] and start smacking the opponent for 7-8 seconds with your 250 AD and 500 crits! If he tries to get away or flashes back,i usually press [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] and he can't escape my damage. After you have forced him out of the fight or killed him(yes,I can get kills this time) your abilities are not on cooldown anymore and you can proceed stunning him or helping a teammate. 11)If you won the team fight, take the opportunity to get a turret or a buff fast and ping for your teammates, every second counts.

By now you must have understood what a badass Alistar can be!But everything in LoL has a counter right?(Please forget about [imgsmall=champ/orianna.png] for a second) These are the champs that give Ali a really hard time and can mess up your game.Try to avoid playing Alistar if you see more than one of them in the enemy team during champ select! The first 5 hurt him the most.It doen't mean you will loose but you can always pick something else for a change!(Janna smiling on the bench waiting to get into the match) [imgext=] [.][img=champ/chogath.png] It is like this champ was made to haunt Alistar players,i am not kidding.Knockup and slow so that you can't get in range in time?Check! 3 second silence against a character that requires fast decision making to be useful?Check!True damage nuke that laughs at your ult?Check!Seriously if you see a Cho'Gath in ranked don't pick the bull please. [.][img=champ/janna.png] Trying to get to my carry?Slow!Try again please!Howling gale, next time!Wow,you just don't ever give up...Monsoon.....[highlight]RRRRRRAGEQUIT![/highlight] CC is Alistar's weak spot and Janna has plenty of it. [.][img=champ/vayne.png] Knock back when you're trying to get near, escape mechanism on a low cooldown and true damage to melt you.Not much else to say here. [.][img=champ/olaf.png] Two rounds of his true damage and you are dead after taking some aoe burst at the fight. Also hard to escape from him if you don't dodge the axe cause he can press R and ignore your CC. [.][img=champ/ashe.png] She can slow you again and again and again, hard to get near.Hard to escape from her too without [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] cause if you ult you will get the cleance but she will just slow you again. [.][img=champ/gangplank.png]Same thing as Ashe.If you get caught by him you have to use your [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] cause of the MS steroid he has and the slows. The worst part is that he can mess up early-mid game dives from afar. [.][img=champ/drmundo.png] He can slow you 2 times if he plays well and you suddenly loose 40% of your health trying to get him.TROLOLOLOLO [.][img=champ/karthus.png] If you get hit by the wall you are not going anywhere to apply your CC.Also as Alistar you will be playing to the limit most of the time, staying with little health after using your ult in a fight which many times means death from above... [.][img=champ/anivia.png] + [img=champ/lux.png] + [img=champ/morgana.png] Not a big deal but if things go wrong they can keep you away from the fight and this means 90% lost teamfight or "waste" of your ult to get the cleance effect, you choose.

To be honest, every ranged AD works with Ali,but there are some champs I prefer seeing at champ select. These are: [.][img=champ/caitlyn.png] [highlight]I believe there is no better bot lane combo for ranked right now.[/highlight]Range OP,autoattack with passive ready too strong. She has an ok escape too.Her Q hurts a lot and she can help you dominate the lane with her traps. Her traps can prevent jungle ganks too if the jungler chooses to hide in bush(even though you should ward the place and don't rely on her trap). No one will dare enter the bushes if you took the upper hand early on!Her ult is a nice counter to flash too,I love laning with her and she pwns late game too. [.][img=champ/ashe.png] Maybe not an obvious choice but oh man,the [highlight]utility[/highlight] this champ provides!Yeah she is not a killer machine like [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png] and [imgsmall=champ/missfortune.png] early on,so what? She is a carry that can initiate, help you keep your [imgsmall=summoners/clairvoyance.png] with her E when you ask her and perma-slow the enemy after you go in!The arrow can also provide kills when en enemy flashes away. There is a great difference between ok Ashe players and really good ones, when you find a good one you'll see why I like her so much. [.][img=champ/tristana.png] I really [highlight]can not understand why this carry is underplayed[/highlight],she has everything, great burst for an AD,the biggest range in the game mid-late game because of her passive, very good escape that can be used offensively too and refreshes with kills or assists and ok utility for a carry!Whenever i laned with her we just melted the enemies.Maybe the best "early aggressive" choice out there. [title]NOTE:[/title]I think the real best "aggressive" choice to pwn your noob enemies in lane at the start with Ali is [imgsmall=champ/urgot.png].BUT he is not a good late game carry imo(feels more like an ok bruiser to me),so i didn't put him on the list. [highlight]WANNA HAVE FUN IN NORMALS AND DON'T FOLLOW THE METAGAME?Here are your best friends![/highlight] [img=champ/xinzhao.png][img=champ/leesin.png][img=champ/blitzcrank.png][img=champ/drmundo.png][img=champ/gangplank.png][img=champ/maokai.png] Noteworthy mention:[imgsmall=champ/shaco.png] I may not like this champ,he is not even a laner too,but there is nothing more fun than pulverizing and enemy and headbutting him to 3-4 boxes waiting for him in the bush after a little communication!100% dead!

Here they are all together,i took a shot of them when i was trying to figure out which support to pick up [imgext=] Alistar of course in the middle,Soraka before being one with the stars at the top left,Pentakill Sona below her and Janna at the bottom. The ladies on the right side are Karma and Taric wearing his unofficial orange skin and with the looks of his first splash art(that thing between his legs is [highlight]not[/highlight] a bottle but a good friend of mine helped me with the photoshop) So,let's see...I'll start with the most viable choice cause I don't want to be rude to the ladies from the start: [.][img=champ/janna.png] Ahhh Janna....Alistar is the king of supporting and she is his queen. The real reason for this is that they can do the job perfecly underleveled and with no farm at all.Janna is so good if played right, just like Ali,requires skill to use correctly and doesn't get boring after 1 match(yes Taric and Soraka,I am looking at you!).Well, especially now with the healing nerfs CC>heal.I believed that long before the nerfs. You just can't save your overextended carry from 2-3 enemies with a heal, can you?Only Janna and Ali can do this and Janna even easier after lvl 6!Hmmm,why Ali over Janna then?Janna might be the [highlight]perfect babysitter[/highlight] in the game with all that CC,especially her ulty which is actually a flash for your teammates if you think about it![highlight]BUT[/highlight],she has no sustain in lane, which means that if something goes wrong your carry is dead with a second mistake. The second problem is that she can't decide when teamfights will occur, something very important for solo que imo.On the other hand Alistar can be a pseudo-tank and initiate fights while surviving after using his ult!Ali is the initiator,Janna is the anti-initiator with R,what is best?To be the one that decides when the fight starts or to just save your teammates that just fucked up and engaged badly? Most important for me is that she can not be built offensively like Alistar, she has to be somewhat tanky, the [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png] some people build on her can not compare to [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] on [imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] in terms of damage(Janna also only really benefits from the item's active that has a small range and the cdr,so it feels like too much gold went to waste whenever i buy it for her,and you can't waste precious gold when you don't farm, right?)Last but not least,Janna might be one of the easiest characters to escape with, due to her MS and her abilities, but if she gets CC'd it's game over, you loose that [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png] bro...Ali can survive without items if he gets caught most of the time because of the cleance-tankyness of his ult.To sum it up:IF you see Alistar's counters on the enemy team pick Janna, you'll be fine! [.][img=champ/sona.png] Hmm i can't say that I like that champion but she is better than the champs that follow....She is easy to play, the only thing that can keep someone interested in her is her AoE ult and the way her passive works with her spells.I like the move speed aura and the slow with the passive after using Q but I don't think she has anything really gamechanging like Janna-Ali.She can be pretty effective in AoE oriented teams though![highlight]Good choice for a starter[/highlight] that would like to get his first support champ. [.][img=champ/soraka.png] I never liked the way she worked and i am glad she will get played less as support after the recent patch. You couldn't loose the lane with her but couldn't really win it if the enemies where not braindead.By wining the lane I mean getting 1-3 kills and destroying the turret...A soraka bot lane made the game very passive, early game was so boring...Support Soraka is actually a [highlight]heal bot[/highlight],I am surprised at how many players use her as their main support pick. And as always, keep in mind that CC>heal no matter what they say!No escape mechanism,a silence to prevent the enemy's flash, heals and more heals staying in the back. This does not seem gamechanging to me,especially for solo que. [.][img=champ/taric.png] The fabulous paladin aka [highlight]stun bot[/highlight].Taric is actually an easy to play Alistar in lane that gets almost completely useless when mid game starts.Simple as that.He can be such an annoyance when faced with a carry like MF or Cait but afterwards he is a walking single target stun with a long cooldown, nothing more. The auras are ok but don't change anything. So why don't pick Alistar and be useful for your team after the laning phase? :) NOTE:I might think he is a bad choice for 5v5 but i think he has a lot of potential as an AD/AS offtank with his armor and AD auras for 3v3 with all the AD tanky DPS dominating there, but this is another story to be told! [.][img=champ/karma.png] Nice for.....[highlight]trolling normal games[/highlight] i guess? No hard CC,no ultimate practically, worthless healing that absorbs a mantra charge,ok shield, useless passive cause if she is low it means she is dead. She needs tons of farm to be effective and she can't get it as a support.Something like an offensive support as [imgsmall=champ/leona.png],[imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png] and [imgsmall=champ/morgana.png] could be better than that.I can't find a reason to buy her and play her even in customs.Maybe some theorycrafters like Crs SYDTKO might find a way to make her viable,I don't know...Until then i advise you to stay away from her! [title]Conclusion? ALI SUPPORT BEST SUPPORT![/title] [title]NOTE (January 30 2012 update):[/title] I've been playing some [img=champ/leona.png] lately and she is really fun and effective for noobs at my elo that dont know how to harass properly without getting killed! Her passive is very good, especially when you time your spells with the ally in lane!I go flash/exhaust with her or flash/heal if the ally didn't take heal.[imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png] is very good for her imo.She is easier to play than Alistar and her ult is great for dragon/baron fights.Try her when she is free and see for yourself,I just bought her!Go [imgsmall=items/rejuvenation-bead.png][imgsmall=items/health-potion2.png][imgsmall=items/sight-ward2.png] and tell your AD to take [imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png][imgsmall=items/health-potion3.png].A bit less tanky than Alistar and no sustain in lane, but she is easier to play, has more cc and can destroy bad opponents easily. If you don't like Alistar and you want an aggresive support champ try her and you might love her.

Learning to play well with [img=champ/alistar.png] doesn't mean you will win if you do everything else wrong!I believe that by following those things I write in this chapter you can easily get to mid elo (1500-1700)without having mad skills!Even if you go solo or duo PLEASE: [.][highlight]Don't ever ever EVER rage![/highlight]You want to win and this is only harmful for your team.A rager is worst than an unskilled feeder that can actually hear you in my opinion.Raging just ensures the enemy's victory because everyone gets disturbed by that smart guy and perfoms worse, the team morale is really low and your team gets pawned. [.][highlight]Be supportive and friendly to your teammates[/highlight].You are a support after all, raising the team's morale can win you the game.Whenever an ally gets a cool kill don't forget to say something like "gj man" or "no.1".Whenever an ally dies and apologizes for it say "it's ok,just play with more care pls".When your team looses a fight say something like "Nothing is over,we can still win,we should let THEM make the mistake from now on" when you are waiting to revive. [title]NOTE:[/title]No matter what you say,put "pls" at the end of your sentence,it sounds more polite. [.][highlight]Psychological warfare:[/highlight]Don't loose the opportunity to demoralize the enemy! It is fun too!You can laugh at them in /all chat when you bait them into bad situations or press Shift2 + Shift 4 to taunt them when they are getting harassed a lot in lane and you don't have anything else to do. [.][highlight]Take care of yourself:[/highlight]Just like everything in life, you can't perform 100% always! You need to keep your body healthy and your reflexes sharp with physical exercise, good sleep and a balanced diet. [.][highlight]If you are having a loss streak don't extend it.[/highlight]Defeats f@ck up your morale, you are in bad mood and have worse decision making. You might also rage which is NOT a good thing.I suggest taking a break after 2 defeats in a row. [.][highlight]Try getting better and learn from your mistakes![/highlight]It is surprising how most people can not do that. They keep doing the same mistakes over and over again,I believe I am not one of those guys. :) [.][highlight]Be a team player and have map awareness of course.[/highlight]This is essential if you are a support. [.][highlight]Learn 1 champ from every role pretty well and have a second backup choice[/highlight].For example, when I am supporting my first choice is obviously [imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] and if the enemy picked him or there are champs that counter him hard at the enemy team i choose [imgsmall=champ/janna.png].I have to admit I don't follow this rule yet...I hate playing AD carries,I have only 3 matches as an AD carry through my "LoL career" and I don't believe these champions are good for solo que because they are really useful end-game when many games are already decided...At least there is always someone that wants to take that role, especially in low-mid elo where I am now. [.][highlight]Don't have distractions around you when you are playing a ranked game.[/highlight]An open TV,loud music from the room next to you,or a cell phone ringing non stop is not the best thing when you are trying to concentrate. [.][highlight]Try choosing a champion according to how balanced your team is in terms of damage,CC,tankyness and AoE burst.[/highlight] [.][highlight]Try giving advice for who to focus, what someone should build etc,it works sometimes![/highlight] [title]LAST BUT NOT LEAST,THESE 2 THINGS BELOW ARE THE MAIN REASON WHY ALL THESE THREADS ABOUT ELO HELL ARE CREATED IN THE FORUMS:[/title] [.][highlight]CHANGE YOUR WAY OF THINKING.You are not a god and every time you loose you are a part of that defeat.Learn to be hard with yourself, don't try to blame others for everything![/highlight]The ego-centered society in which we live has created all these people with the "mean world syndrome",believing the world is bad,you are special and much better than everyone else but you can't really do anything about it.This deeply disturbed nature of the modern-day man has invaded the internet too of course...Please don't be a part of it.There is a reason you are 1100 elo and some guys have two times your rating.Stop being obsessed with your ego and become a better player and human being ffs. [.][highlight]IN MY OPINION THE BEST WAY TO GET ELO IS TO FIND 2-3 MAINS![/highlight]By mains,I mean champions that you like playing a lot,you think you are very close to mastering them(there is always something new to learn) and you just have that feeling that you can play them with closed eyes!Whoever has a main can understand me.Those champs for me are [img=champ/alistar.png] [img=champ/malzahar.png] and [img=champ/drmundo.png] and I'm trying to master a jungler lately.Whenever I see the profile of players complaining about elo hell at the forums, almost all of them play too many different champs at ranked, having around 100 games in total with 22 champs....So why having a main is THAT important? With a main you know your limits, you feel comfortable with the champion, which means your reflexes are higher with him,you minimize mistakes and most important of all,you can have more time looking at the map, thinking what your next move should be and what your teammates have to look out for!

Oh shit,[highlight]nothing lasts[/highlight],I hope I could write more but my fingers hurt...[highlight]But nothing is lost too![/highlight]I hope you liked this guide and are able to abuse Alistar's true potential after practicing a lot of course! Thanks for reading and please upvote if you found anything really helpful or just appreciated the effort I put into this, lol.I believe this guide does not lack in originality, variety and details and I think I've explained every single choice I made,so I'd like to see it getting approved,I think it deserves it! I will be trying to update things according to buffs/nerfs and changes in the metagame, stay tuned! Any questions are welcome! You can contact me in game or leave a comment below. Please leave comments if you have read the whole guide and do not send things like "WTF is [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] doing on a support" when you have no idea why this is a good choice! The only thing I am afraid of is that people might start building Ali that way and play well too,my bull becomes the no.1 support choice always and even gets banned, then Riot decides to ruin his AD on R or take it away completely....TROLOLOLOLO Anyways, thanks again for your attention!Cheers!
