In this guide I will express my opinion on how to play/build Mordekaiser as an ap carry/anti carry.

For runes i go flat ap quints... because they are much better than the per lvl quints. AP per lvl blues, because they even out at lvl 6 with the flat ap blues, and since lvl 6 is when you will most likely be getting your first kill, it seems reasonable to get the runes that benefit you the most at lvl 6+. For yellows i like flat hp/5 to help out laning early game a little more, since all of mordes abilities take up his health. Finally my reds are magic pen, just to help out with the damage a little more

[title][img=skills/mordekaiser/p.png] Passive: Iron Man[/title] [number]25 / 27.5 / 30% of the damage dealt from abilities is converted into a temporary shield, absorbing incoming damage. Minimum shield strength is 120 health, and the maximum is 630 health. The shield decays by 3% per second.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Mordekaisers shield which he gains after dealing damage with one of his abilities. Mordekaiser is very good at baiting if you do this properly. If your opponent is low enough and you think you can take him, let him hit you a few times (within reason) and run into a bush like your are running away, then when he enters the bush, you just unload on them, giving you full shield and catching them by surprise. [title][img=skills/mordekaiser/q.png] Q: Mace of Spades[/title] [number]On next hit, Mordekaiser swings his mace with such force that it echoes out, striking up to 3 additional nearby targets, dealing his attack damage plus 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 bonus damage (+40% of ability power). If the target is alone, the bonus damage is doubled. Cost 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50health Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is the move that will kill people mid game. When there is only 1 person around, no creeps or any enemy champions, it does double damage, try to hit the person when they are isolated, which works well when you follow the baiting strategy indicated above. [title][img=skills/mordekaiser/w.png] W: Creeping Death[/title] [number]Unleashes a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally, increasing their armor and magic resistance by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 and dealing 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 (+15% of ability power) damage per second to enemies in the cloud for 6 seconds. Cost 26 / 32 / 38 / 44 / 50health Range 750[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ability is mainly to give you a constant stream of shield while fighting an enemy, however once you a decent amount of AP, this will deal an decent amount of damage. Try to place this on an teammate who is in the middle of the entire enemy team, or on yourself. [title][img=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] E: Siphon of Destruction[/title] [number]Mordekaiser damages enemies in a cone in front of him, dealing 65 / 110 / 155 / 200 / 245 (+40% of ability power) magic damage. For each unit hit, Mordekaiser's shield absorbs an additional 6 / 9 / 12 / 15 / 18 health. Cost 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 72health Range 700[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is your best ability, this thing has WAAAAAAAY too long range, you always, no matter what, max this ability first, it is your main source of damage throughout the game. It has a slightly longer range than indicated by the skillshot outline in game, but only slightly, try to use that to your advantage. [title][img=skills/mordekaiser/r.png] R: Children of the Grave[/title] [number]Curses an enemy champion for 8 seconds, stealing 3 / 3.5 / 4% life per second, plus an additional 0.1% per 50 AP. If the target dies while under the effect of the curse, their soul is enslaved and will follow Mordekaiser for 30 seconds. During this time, Mordekaiser gains 25% of their ability power, and attack damage. The spirit gains 65 / 75 / 85% + (+100% of ability power) of Mordekaiser's adjusted damage, ability power, and 50% + (+100% of ability power) of Mordekaiser's health. Pets can be controlled by holding the alt key and using the right mouse button. Range 850[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] THIS WILL KILL PEOPLE WITH IGNITE! Uses: BAITING [highlight]GETTING AP CARRY/AD CARRY AS MINON!!! DO IT![/highlight] KILLING SOMEONE FROM A RIDICULOUS RANGE SOME MORE BAITING Children of the grave is most likely one of the best ultimate's in the game. if someone is at 3 or 4 bars(late game) use ignite and your ultimate, they will die, and it will then be a 4v6, how the hell do you lose a 4v6.

If you follow this guide, your going to start with [item=regrowth-pendant] and a health pot. I like to go back around 2k gold. Because with this you can get lvl 1 boots, hextech revolver,and wards. [highlight]The 3rd:[/highlight] item you get should EITHER BE, [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] + [img=items/hextech-revolver.png] OR [img=items/will-of-the-ancients.png] + [img=items/hextech-revolver.png]. you should either buy or already have your [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] [img=items/sorcerers-shoes.png] OR [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] at this point, depending on what their team is heavy on. [highlight]4th: [/highlight]is dependant on how the game is going, i like to get [item=sheen] if i dont have enough both parts of [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png], but it's all preference. You can either begin [img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] or get [item=sheen]. Just make sure to get deathcap before [item=lich-bane] because lich bane isn't very useful until you get A LOT of AP. [highlight]5th:[/highlight] Your going to want to get either [item=abyssal-scepter] or [item=zhonyas-hourglass] just to make your AP that much higher and your bulkiness that much bulkier. By this point you should have your [item=lich-bane] nearly completed/ completed and your [item=hextech-gunblade] completed. [highlight]6th:[/highlight] This item should be dependent on how the game is going, I like to get [item=guardian-angel] or [item=warmogs-armor] since by late game, they will probably want you dead. [highlight]IF the game isn't going very well, I would suggest getting [item=warmogs-armor]or[item=guardian-angel] earlier, because if your dead how are you going to kill people.[/highlight]

When in laning phase, try not to push up the lane too hard, your going to push up, it's a fact. But my style is, start with your [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] and use it to last hit if your scared that your opponent will shit on your face. Once you get [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/w.png]. This is where you become a massive prick, i usually run into the middle of the caster creeps and the melee creeps, and [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] the casters while standing there last last hitting the melee ones, since the casters will die due to your W. Once you get [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/q.png], your set, push extremely hard into their turret so they have a more difficult time last hitting, while you just chill either by your turret if mid, or in bushes at top. PVP: When you engage a player, always make sure [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/w.png] is on you or a creep who is fighting enemy creeps, to supply a constant stream of shield, lead with [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] into [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/q.png], then try to back off, since your white hits aren't especially strong, rinse repeat. If your ever low and you expect a turret dive, use [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] on as many creeps as possible so that you always have a decent amount of shield, then as soon as the turret dive happens, BLOW EVERYTHING ON HIM! [imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png]+ [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png]+[imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/w.png]+[imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/q.png] + [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/r.png], HE WILL DIE. Your shield will be full from the burst, giving you extra health, lifesteal from your ultimate, and substantially lowering his health, nearly guaranteeing a kill.

During early game, if you follow my item build you will have some Hp/5, so what i like to do is just chill behind my creeps and last hit cautiously, not try to be aggressive, maybe an E hit here and there, but nothing crazy. Once you hit lvl 2, this is where you usually begin to dominate creeps, assuming you got your W. Run in between the area where ranged and melee creeps separate, pop ur W and E the ranged creeps, this should nearly kill them, leave them alone and begin to last hit the melee creeps since the casters should die to your shield. After doing this the lane should be pushed up a bit, depending on what champ you're facing. Once you hit 3 you get your Q, run in the same spot as before, E the casters while you have W up, but also Q them, instantly killing them, leaving you to deal with the melee creeps. Doing this will ensure you have full shield, usually turning your opponent off of harassing you. Since you kill the creeps so quickly, you can just stand back while the enemy tries to clean them up, while your gaining all of your health back because of the HP/5. WHEN TO GO FOR KILL: If your target is low, lets say below half health, wait for his creeps to meet yours, let him last hit for a while, and run at him inside of his creep wave, aim your E at him AND THE CREEPS, giving you nearly full shield, pop W and Q, if he is at 1-3 bars, ULT IGNITE AND E AGAIN, this should kill him from the DOT, and if done correctly, you will not have even taken that much damage.

Mid game is your time to shine, you should have your hextech revolver and boots, and working towards your rylais if you do not already have it. Your E will be doing massive damage because it's the first thing you maxed, think about it like you would a vlad, once you hit lvl 9, that's when the damage becomes crazy. Mid game (depending on who your laning aganst) your enemies turret should have some damage assuming you did everything correctly, if you are losing the lane, it still doesn't matter because Morde is such a good creep farmer your enemy wont be able to kill your turret no matter what. I dont really like to leave the lane unless there's something important, like dragon or a team fight that is about to take place, otherwise I prefer to stay in my lane and get INCREDIBLY FED ON CREEPS.[highlight]15 CREEPS= A REGULAR KILL[/highlight] THIS IS YOUR JOB, YOU CREEP FARM LIKE A BOSS, NO ONE CAN STOP YOU! AND IF THEY TRY, YOU BLOW YOUR LOAD ALL OVER THEIR FACE!

lategame is pretty much common knowledge, get maxed, help in team fights and kill towers. But [highlight]TEAM FIGHTS[/highlight], this is where you need to play very specifically, because if you die right off the bat, it's usually done, your team loses. When engaging a team fight you HAVE to make sure you don't run in like an idiot, because a Morde with no shield and no tanky items is easy picking. MAKE SURE YOUR TANK RUNS IN... if you don't your probably handicapped. Once your tank engages, i like to put my [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/w.png] on them, to increase their resistances as well as doing aoe damage to their team, since a tank is usually all up in the other teams faces. What you want to try and do is get to the back of their team(assuming no idiot runs in the middle of yours) and try to get their carries, DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU KNOW THEY WILL ATTACK YOU IMMEDIATELY, DO THIS IF SOMEONE ELSE ON YOUR TEAM IS LOW. [imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/e.png] the hell out of them followed by[imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/q.png] (if you can get this to only hit one person, try to) AND [highlight]GET THEIR AD CARRY AS YOUR MINION [/highlight] YOU WILL WIN ANY TEAM FIGHT IF YOU KILL THEIR AD CARRY EARLY. focus anything that is close down with this sucker, everything will die.
