Since the dawn of men (or since LoL is open), AP carries have been the main source of early game damage of a team, and AD carries have been the main source of late game damage of a team. Of course, a cool player, like you, don't want to be useless at any moment of the game. A cool player like you want crazy power combined with utility. And there's nothing as cool as ice.[number] Introducing AD Anivia Guide.[/number]
[number]Of course.[/number] As you will see in a moment, AD Anivia is the queen of bot lane. But picking AD Anivia is better for your team than for you. Let's imagine a cool situation: Ranked game. You are the first pick, and of course, you decide to show your Awesome AD Anivia to your new teammates. Your teammates know that you are AD, but the enemy don't, so they will probably counterpick. Then, your teammates [number]counter the counter.[/number] The enemy team will probably rage and quit, or if they're brave enought, fight and lose. [highlight]PRO TIPS:[/highlight] If you're not first picking, tell your teammates you want Anivia. This will allow you to succesfully do the countercounter strategy every game. [number]You will win the game before the game starts[/number]. Cool, huh? (Mega pro tip: If they're not cool, they will refuse. You could be in trouble there.)
[img=champ/anivia.png] PROS AND CONS [number]Strenghts: [/number] + Nice CC's in form of a stun and 2 AoE slow. + Useful to create jungle traps with her wall. + Good AP damage even going AD. + She can play aggressive early game thanks to her passive. + Nice autoattack range of 600. Hit those wimps from a long distance. + Very good farming and pushing lanes after level 6. + She's a [number]bird.[/number] [number] Weaknesses: [/number] - Her auttoattacks are slow. I mean VERY slow. Hard to lasthit minions. - Slow champion. Early boots needed. [number](Fly faster, PLEASE!)[/number] - Even weaker than other AD carries. God, even weaker than Spanish economy. Get yourself a good support. - She consumes a lot of mana. Use abilities when needed.
[number]+ 6,75 ATTACK DAMAGE (Quints) + 13 ARMOR (Seals) + 9 ARMOR PENETRATION / + 5,13 MAGIC PENETRATION (Marks) + 8,91 ABILITY POWER (Glyphs)[/number] [title][center]Explanation: [/center][/title] Anivia base attack damage is low, so you need a good AD boost, and + 6,75 AD are the best boost you can get. + 13 Armor is the way to resist some hits of the other carry. + + 9 ARMOR PENETRATION / + 5,13 MAGIC PENETRATION is what makes you being powerful at level 1. + 8,91 AP will allow you to dominate that bot lane. Bot lane is your nest, and the enemy AD carry is your dinner. [number]Feel free to tell them.[/number]
We have our AD Anivia ready to take off, but we must know what can she do when she's flying. Let's take a look at what can this awesome lane breaker cast. [img=skills/anivia/p.png] Cooldown: 4 minutes Armor/Magic resistance: [number]-40 / -25 / -10 / +5 / +20.[/number] Rebirth is Anivia's Passive ability. Unless other passives, this one has a cooldown, so you can't use it all the time. This ability will trigger when Anivia dies, making her an egg with full health and providing a buff to her armor and magic resistance. If the egg survives for 6 seconds, Anivia will come back to life with the same health the egg had. When you're alone on a lane, the enemies are ok with this, if the egg spawns,[number] they will scramble it. [/number]But here, with a support, this passive will make your enemies scared. In a bot lane, a carry vs carry scenario ends usually with one dead carry and the other one running away with very low health. This ability will make you come back to life (if your support is capable of protect the egg, with a lot of health), being able to destroy the enemy. Basically, this makes the lane a 3 vs 2 scenario. [number]Enjoy your 1-UP.[/number] [highlight]PRO TIPS: [/highlight] [.]Cooldown reduction doesn't affect the cooldown of this passive. That's not cool. Maybe that's why is called cool down. [.]The egg can still be moved with abilities like [imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] headbutt. [.]If Anivia is killed while [imgsmall=champ/zilean.png] ultimate was casted on her, she will revive using the ultimate. Also, she will revive using [imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png] instead of [imgsmall=skills/anivia/p.png] if you have the item. [.]The priority order is Zilean's Ultimate > Guardian Angel > Rebirth. Basically, you could have 4 lifes, making you a [number]Quadracarry.[/number] (Mega pro tip: use [imgsmall=champ/yorick.png] ult for a [number]Pentacarry[/number]. This ult will trigger after the egg.) ---------------------------------------------- [img=skills/anivia/q.png] [number] Cost: 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 mana Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds Magic Damage: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+0.5 per ability power) Skillshot Range: 1,100 Detonation's Radius of AoE: 150 Projectile Speed: 850 [/number] Anivia's Q is Flash Frost. This will send a straight skillshot that will slow and damage everything it touches, exploding at the end of the range, making more damage and stuninf everything on the radius of the explosion. This is your main source of CC and the first step of your 2-step combo before level 6. If you're able to stun your enemies every time you use this, they will start raging and calling you OP and that. [highlight]PRO TIPS: [/highlight] [.]You can explode the proyectile at anytime pressing Q again after you fired. Use it to stun your enemies when they're close. [.]If the proyectile goes over an enemy and then explodes, it will hurt the enemy both times. Use this to do massive damage with only one spell. [.]You can't explode the proyectile manually if you're stunned, silenced or suppresed. Be careful. [.]Of course, if you hit an stealthed enemy with the proyectile, they will leave a visible ice trail. (Mega pro tip: if you hit an stealthed [imgsmall=champ/evelynn.png] with the proyectile, she will probably die. Don't even bother). ---------------------------------------------- [img=skills/anivia/w.png] [number]Cost: 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 / 150 mana Wall Length: 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 / 800 Cooldown: 25 seconds Center of Wall Range: 1,000 [/number] Anivia's W, Cristallize, is probably the hardest Anivia skill to master, yet it's awesome. Cristallize creates an [number]impenetrable[/number] ice wall. Use it to block enemies or to prevent them to escape. [highlight]PRO TIPS:[/highlight] [.]Neither you or your allies can walk through the wall. Be careful when placing it, you could screw everything. (Mega pro tip: if this happens, type /all lol and wait.) [.]Crystallize has a brief channel time [number](0.2s)[/number] upon cast before it activates. [.]If you create the wall under a champion, that champion will be pushed to one of the wall sides. (Mega pro tip: This does not affect [imgsmall=champ/fizz.png]. That guy is cool, too.) [.]A champion can jump, dash, blink or flash through the wall. Care. [.]You can see the area around the wall while is active. [.]You can get an assist by placing the wall, but [number]only if the enemy champion touches it.[/number] ---------------------------------------------- [img=skills/anivia/e.png] Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana Magic Damage: 55 / 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 (+0.5 per ability power) Cooldown: 5 seconds Range: 650 Frostbite is Anivia's E and its the second step of your pre-6 combo. Just Q and then, E. It's a targeted ability that makes damage. [number]PRO TIPS: [/number] [.]If an enemy is chilled, Frostbite will deal DOUBLE damage. [.]Anivia Q and Anivia R are almost the only way to get an enemy chilled for the double damage. Other "ice ability" from any champion or [imgsmall=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] passive will not work. Some will do, like Ashe's Crystal Enchanted Arrow or Nunu's Absolute Zero. But don't relay on this. ---------------------------------------------- [img=skills/anivia/r.png] [number]Upkeep Cost: 40 / 50 / 60 mana per second Magic Damage: 80 / 120 / 160 (+0.25 per ability power) Initial Cost: 75 mana Cooldown upon Toggle Off: 6 seconds Range to Center of AoE: 625 Radius of AoE: 300 [/number] Anivia's R, Glacial Storm, is a toggled ground targeted area of effect ability. This ability will deal magic damage and slow every enemy champion inside. You can keep the ability on the ground until you have no mana or until you press R again. PRO TIPS: [.]The slows from Glacial Storm and Flash Frost do not stack. [.]Glacial Storm is considered a channeled ability and will be toggled off if Anivia is affected by any interrupt. Also, it will be toggled off if Anivia moves too far of the area where it was casted. (It's pretty far, though.) [.]You can cast this without stopping, so do it when running to slow the enemies.
[number]R>E>Q>W.[/number] While your Q is your main CC source, you will deal more damage with your E. Try to keep them balanced. [imgsmall=skills/anivia/w.png] is better late game, fighting in the jungle, so take a point early for utility and maximize it last. Some Anivias maximize their Flash Frost. Yeah. And some Anivias goes AP. [number]Some people are crazy[/number], you know.
Anivia is a low-health champion, so starting with [img=items/boots-of-speed.png][img=items/health-potion3.png] will give her nice sustain. Damage comes next, in form of two [img=items/dorans-blade.png] or a [img=items/bf-sword.png]. Evolve your boots to [img=items/berserkers-greaves.png] when you can. "I think other boots are better!": Well, who's making the guide? [number]Shut up, you.[/number] Lasthitting is hard with Anivia, so if you think you will do bad, take an early [img=items/avarice-blade.png] and sell it later. After this, you want [img=items/infinity-edge.png][img=items/phantom-dancer.png]. Typical carry stuff. At this point, you autoattacks will be [number]slow balls of doom.[/number] Finish your build with a [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png], another [img=items/phantom-dancer.png] (You will be a F-22 at this point) and then: If you're winning and want more damage: [img=items/hextech-gunblade.png] If you're winning and want more resistance: [img=items/guardian-angel.png] If you're losing: Nah. You're not losing. ---------------------------------------------- "I Need a lot of Mana!": You could take a [img=items/sheen.png]. Sell it late game.
Your mission here is getteing farm. Lasthit the minions. Remember telling your support to sit on a brush and do nothing: he shouldn't be touching the minions. This scenario can lead into two different situations. 1.- The enemy is lasthitting too and the lane is tied: Getting a kill here is hard. If you really want one now, kill the carry. He will try to run, but [number]you can't run of a giant badass ice bird[/number] who is throwing her s**t at you. 2.- The enemy is pushing a lot, you are under your tower: This is where the magic from AD Anivia start shining. Tell your jungler there's some free gold in bot lane. Of course, the enemy warded the zone, [number]but you don't care[/number]. Thanks to your slow, stun and wall, the enemy will see the jungler in his map, approaching, ready to kill him, but [number]what he can do?[/number] Nothing. Get the free kill. (Mega pro tip: spamming your /joke when you're pushed is a great idea. This will make the enemy try to kill you, so they will be pushing even more.)
Still farming, now easier thanks to [imgsmall=skills/anivia/r.png]. If you won your lane, help other lanes. Do dragon when it's possible. At this point, you will start doing some real damage. Remember you can use your wall to see a far zone. This could help you stealing dragon or some buffs. (Mega pro tip: you can trap your enemies in the jungle with an [imgsmall=skills/anivia/w.png], forcing them to use flash or to die.
Prepare yourself, because now you're a crazy bombardier who kills everything it touches. Remember, you have an advantage fighting in the jungle, so go for it if you can. You can use your wall to divide the enemy team, to help your team escape or to cover yourself, acting like an [number]ice sniper boss bird[/number]. Be careful with the wall. There's nothing worse than walking, without doing anything harmful, and then a giant ice wall appears and screws your life. Place your [imgsmall=skills/anivia/r.png] under the teamfight, then cast your Q - E combo, trying to stun all the enemies you can (the Q is an AoE stun. Hard to do, but you can do it. Trust me), and then autoattack [number]until you see the pentakill statement[/number]. Do cool things like baron or pushing. If its 20:00 or later, wait for the surrender.
Let's go over the different supports you can have in your lane, to help you. [img=champ/alistar.png]: Anivia-Alistar combo may be very good or very bad. The thing about Anivia is stuning enemies with the Q before attacking, but a bad timed headbutt can destroy your strategy. But, with Alistar's heals and knock-outs, you will have a very controlled lane. I recommend going for this only if you have [number]any speak engine active[/number] between you and your bull. [img=champ/blitzcrank.png]: This is practically the same problem as Alistar. Personally, I prefer Alistar because of the heal. [img=champ/janna.png]: Janna's tornados will help you landing your flash frosts, and the +AD Shield is definitely helping your early low-AD problems. Nice lane buddy. [number]And she's pretty hot.[/number] [img=champ/karma.png]: Interesting option. The shield is awesome, and she can heal, deal some damage and the most important thing for anivia, increasing her speed, which, let's addmit it, is pretty low. [img=champ/leona.png]: Awesome support, but dangerous pick, as she can not heal or create shields. Lot's of stuns, though, making the stun-hit-run stratety even better. [number]Something like stun-hit-stun-hit-stun-hit-run. [/number] [img=champ/lulu.png]: Lulu works pretty well here, with shields, slows and some damage. Also, Lulu's ultimate is awesome in any teamfight. [img=champ/maokai.png]: Support Maokai has no heals or shields, but he works good with Anivia thanks to Anivia's Q and R: this abilities will give Maokai 2 stacks of his passive each (one for casting the ability and one for stopping the ability), so Maokai can heal himself a lot more than with other carries. [img=champ/lux.png]: Nice support, with an awesome range, shields and AoE slows. [number]And that lazor scares the s**t out of the enemy team.[/number] [img=champ/nidalee.png]: Good Heal, nice control of the bushes with the traps, incredible damage with the spears. But pretty weak, which can be bad, considering she has no escape engine until level 6. [img=champ/sona.png]: Sona works awesome with Anivia, because her Q raises both Anivia AD and AP, making all your strategy even more powerful. And she can't talk.[number] You want that on a woman[/number]. [img=champ/soraka.png]: Altough she can provide you insane sustain on the lane, taking a support with stuns or more tanky it's definitely better. [img=champ/taric.png]: Oh, Taric. This guy is outrageous. Stuns, tanky, aura buffs. And fancy hairstyle. If your support picks Pink Taric, [number]you will win the lane, 110% of the times.[/number] [img=champ/zilean.png]: Nice Damage, nice speed buff, cool wombo combo with your passive and his ult. Good support here. --------------------------------- [img=champ/yorick.png]: [number]Casual Support Yorick.[/number] Try it. Awesome.
Feel free to ask me any question about [number]AD Anivia[/number]. I will try to anwer that as soon as posible.
I hope this guide gives you another point of view about Anivia, and if you play this and have some fun, then my mission with this guide is fulfilled. "Laying an egg isn't as easy as it looks, but taking some Phantom Dancers and killing some kiddies here in bot lane, oh boy, THAT'S easy." - Anivia.
