[imgsmall=champ/vayne.png]Vayne is a very powerful champion in dominion. If Vayne becomes fed she will snowball very fast and in dominion it's easier to get kills. Vayne is one of the few champions that is able to carry her team to victory if played to her potential. With Dominion's high gold income Vayne is able to get items quicker and get to her late game dominance. The close quarters and MANY walls allows Vayne to set up her [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] easily with a [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png]. Early game Vayne is played more defensively since she can't output a lot of damage without [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png]. Late game Vayne is one of the most dominant range AD, with her high mobility, burst and true damage. Her ability to 1v1 most champions makes her a strong force and allows your team to push capture points. If she is backed up with her team, it's almost impossible to stop her. Positioning is everything for Vayne in dominion though, so always make sure you are near terrain that is easy to [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] into a position that you can combo with [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]. [imgext=]

+ 8.55 AD Marks allow you to do early game damage. Another option is + 14.94 Armor Pen that will scale throughout the game, however with Dominion's 15% Armor Pen buff more isn't really necessary. + 12.69 Armor Seals will give you great early game survivability. Another option is + 6.84% Attack speed for [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png]. + 5.76% Attack Speed Glyphs is always helpful on ranged AD, faster attacks means more [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png]. Another option is + 13.41 MR if you're against AP or have problems against them. + 6.75 AD Quintessences for more early game damage. Another option is + 9.99 Armor Pen Quintessences.

[title][img=skills/vayne/p.png] Passive: Night Hunter[/title] [number]Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers. She gains 40 Movement Speed when moving toward nearby enemy champions.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This gives Vayne her late game dominance with the ability to chase and out move her enemies. Really helps when you need to chase down your enemy and they can't outrun you. [title][img=skills/vayne/q.png] Q: Tumble[/title] [number]Vayne tumbles a short distance and her next basic attack within 6 seconds deals bonus physical damage. The bonus is equal to 40/45/50/55/60% of her total Attack Damage. Cooldown 6/5/4/3/2 seconds Cost 40 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Amazing because of it's low cooldown. Allows vayne to chase, run away, or position herself. Very powerful when combined with [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]. [title][img=skills/vayne/w.png] W: Silver Bolts[/title] [number]Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target deals an additional 20/30/40/50/60 plus 4/5/6/7/8% of the target's maximum Health as true damage. (Max: 200 damage vs. Monsters)[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Gives Vayne her late game damage. This ability will wreck your opponents and they won't know what hit them if you can do a [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png]/[imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png]/[imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] Combo. This ability requires attack speed to fully shine and makes attack speed on par with +AD items because of the true damage. [title][img=skills/vayne/e.png] E: Condemn[/title] [number]Vayne fires a huge bolt, dealing 45/80/115/150/185 (+50% of attack damage) physical damage and knocking her target back. If they collide with terrain they take 60/100/140/180/220 (+50% of attack damage) additional physical damage and will be stunned for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown 20/18/16/14/12 seconds Cost 90 mana Range 450[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Vayne's huge damage early game. Allows Vayne to position her enemies where she wants and because Dominion has so much terrain it allows Vayne to proc the additional damage and stun. You can also use this ability to save your allies, push enemies away, or into your team. Using[imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] will allow you to get into a better position to land [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] easier and surprise opponents with it. [title][img=skills/vayne/r.png] R: Final Hour[/title] [number]For 8/10/12 seconds Vayne gains 25/40/55 Bonus Attack Damage, Tumbling grants Vayne stealth for 1.5 seconds, and the bonus Movement Speed from Night Hunter is tripled. Cooldown 70 seconds Cost 80 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] When this is up Vayne becomes a beast. The stealth with [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] allows you to move into better positions, run away, or sneak up on your opponents. The bonus AD is really good when you can deal damage for the full duration. The bonus movement speed is amazing because it allows you to outrun your opponents and secure kills.

I've tried many combinations of Skill Orders and it mainly depends on your playstyle. The basic skill order for dominion is; E, Q, R, W. [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png],[imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png],[imgsmall=skills/vayne/r.png],[imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png]. Level E first to get high burst potential while you're still getting items. Level Q first if you need higher mobility and a boost in AD. Level W first if the enemy has tanky champions, but be aware that Silver Bolts relies heavily on attack speed. Level R whenever you can because it's so strong.

Start: [item=prospectors-blade][item=boots-of-speed][item=health-potion2] Build Order 1: [item=bf-sword]>[item=the-black-cleaver] [item=bf-sword]>[item=sanguine-blade] Build Order 2: [item=bf-sword] [item=recurve-bow]>[item=the-lightbringer] [item=the-black-cleaver] [item=the-lightbringer] This item is more of a personal choice. This will allow you to do full damage while chasing enemies through bushes or allow you to destroy stealth enemies. This item is great against any enemy with a stealth since it essentially shuts down their defensive stealth capabilities. [item=sanguine-blade] This item gives you sustainability and survival throughout the game. This should be the first item you get after [item=vampiric-scepter][item=berserkers-greaves] if you didn't rush [the-lightbringer]. [item=phantom-dancer] This item gives you everything you want on Vayne; movement speed, attack speed, and crit. This allows you to move quickly between capture points and lets you get [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png] faster. It also has great synergy with [item=sanguine-blade], allowing it to stack faster. [item=infinity-edge] This item will give you lots of early game damage but less survivability compared to [item=sanguine-blade]. This item is better if the fights are shorter and you might not get full (7) stacks from [item=sanguine-blade], or if you go for team fights more. [item=wits-end] This item gives attack speed which is great on Vayne. It also gives MR and stacking MR which will help against AP champions and will be enough unless they get [item=void-staff]. The passive 42 magic damage will help in damage and goes nicely with high attack speed. Core Build: [item=prospectors-blade][item=berserkers-greaves][item=the-black-cleaver] After you have built those core items, it's up to you to decide which you need more of. Vayne is very powerful in dominion with mobility and [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] allowing her to get away or chase enemies. [highlight]*Note* [item=the-lightbringer] is a very powerful item to get if you're experience and I would recommend getting it if you can find easy targets (solo targets) to pick off.[/highlight] More damage: [item=infinity-edge][item=the-lightbringer][item=last-whisper][item=entropy] More mobility: [item=phantom-dancer][item=boots-of-mobility][priscillas-blessing] More survivability: ([item=ninja-tabi] OR [item=mercurys-treads])[item=hexdrinker][item=force-of-nature][odyns-veil][item=quicksilver-sash][item=thornmail] Champion dependent items: [item=kitaes-bloodrazor] This item is good against enemies that rush early high health or tanky builds. This can be rush instead of [item=zeal] to keep up in damage, but it does become very weak against high MR builds and falls off late game. [item=sword-of-the-divine] This item will allow you to kill high dodge enemies when the active is up. This should be rushed instead of [item=zeal] if the enemy team has Udyr or Jax, or really any high dodge champion. [item=thornmail] This item will definitely shutdown enemy AD with the passive and high armor it gives. You should probably only aim for this if you get focus a lot or want a bit of survivability. [item=force-of-nature] This item gives great survivability against AP and with the 8% move speed it'll help you move around the map easier. The added bonus is that the passive will keep you alive longer, but requires higher health to benefit more. [item=starks-fervor] This item is only recommended if your team has more than 2 AD and you engage in many team fights. Not too useful if you're solo queuing, or team doesn't move in a group.

I play Dominion exclusively as Vayne and will try out many build and skill orders. I will continue to update this guide as I try out more stuff. In Dominion, your playstyle will decide the outcome more than your items. Always try to use Tumble to position yourself up to shoot your enemy into terrain with Condemn. Vayne is a very strong champion, so don't be afraid to engage in fights when near terrain. [highlight]Running away to heal and coming back is better than waiting up to 20 seconds for respawn. If you can escape, it's usually okay unless you're in a team fight you can win.[/highlight] I've posted these pictures to show the high success rate of me playing Vayne in solo queue. Vayne is able to carry if your team is able to work together and communicate. [imgext=] [imgext=]

During team fights try to stay near the back while dealing damage since you'll be squishy. Tumbling into the enemy team can be beneficial if you can pull off a [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]. [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] can also be used if your teammate if getting focused, but usually the enemy will be right back up on them so it's better to save for the burst/stun. During team fights champions to watch out for are those with multiple gap closers. If they jump onto you and you [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] without hitting terrain then they can jump back onto you. This may be difficult to survive unless you can out damage them or your teammates switch to help you out. If you do [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] and they hit a wall you can either [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] and try to kill them or use it to escape while they're still stunned. [highlight]Here's some Tips against certain counters;[/highlight] [img=champ/akali.png] Akali has high burst potential. If you're having trouble against her, pick up [imgsmall=items/the-lightbringer.png] to see through her [imgsmall=skills/akali/w.png] and continue damaging her. Also move into a position to use [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]. Akali's [imgsmall=skills/akali/r.png] will allow her to chase you down, so if you need to escape save your [imgsmall=skills/vayne/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png] for that instead of using to damage. [img=champ/alistar.png] Alistar is very strong because of his ability to CC with [imgsmall=skills/alistar/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/alistar/w.png]. His [imgsmall=skills/alistar/r.png] will stop a lot of your damage but won't stop your true damage so don't worry too much if he pops it. [img=champ/blitzcrank.png] Blitzcrank is very strong against Vayne due to his [imgsmall=skills/blitzcrank/q.png] allowing him to get within range. [imgsmall=skills/blitzcrank/e.png] can really allow him to hurt you while you're vulnerable. What really makes Blitzcrank dangerous is his passive ([imgsmall=skills/blitzcrank/p.png]); It allows him to have up to 200% health. [img=champ/chogath.png] Cho'gath is only dangerous if he catches you by surprise in close range. If hit by [imgsmall=skills/chogath/q.png], you will be slowed enough to not be able to run quick enough. [imgsmall=skills/chogath/w.png] isn't that powerful on Vayne but it does shutdown Vayne's escape abilities for a bit. [imgsmall=skills/chogath/r.png] does True damage which can really hurt if you are low health. [img=champ/drmundo.png] Dr. Mundo's ability to get high health makes him dangerous because he can survive long enough to output strong damage on you, if you're unable to stun him against terrain. Best avoided if 1v1 situation, or just poke while running/dodging [imgsmall=skills/drmundo/q.png] [img=champ/evelynn.png] Evelynn's biggest strength is her ability to sneak up on you. If she is on the enemy team and you can't see her on the map then always position yourself to [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png]/[imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] her into terrain. Evelynn builds usually consist of burst damage and she can kill you before you're able to react. [img=champ/gangplank.png] Gankplank counters Vayne a lot; [imgsmall=skills/gangplank/p.png] prevents Vayne from escaping if fully stacked. [imgsmall=skills/gangplank/q.png] can hurt a lot if you have no armor. [imgsmall=skills/gangplank/w.png] nullifies [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] since GP can pop it and remove the CC. [imgsmall=skills/gangplank/e.png] allows him to chase after Vayne and output equal damage. Never attempt to 1v1 Gankplank unless you are with teammates or catch [imgsmall=champ/gangplank.png] with low health. Be cautious if engaging 1v1. [img=champ/heimerdinger.png] Heimerdinger isn't a huge threat, but his ability to poke and defend capture points makes him dangerous. Unless you can pin Heimerdinger against terrain or catch him away from a tower, then do not attempt to solo. [img=champ/leblanc.png] Le Blanc falls off late game, but her early game makes it a nightmare against her. Her ability to silence, burst, and snare you make her impossible to 1v1 early game. [imgsmall=skills/leblanc/w.png][imgsmall=skills/leblanc/r.png] allows Le Blanc to cover a lot of ground for escaping or catching enemies. [img=champ/leesin.png] Lee Sin's ability to do high damage, build tanky and [imgsmall=skills/leesin/w.png] make him strong. Early game Lee Sin is at equal strength with Vayne, but slowly becomes weaker if not built for damage. Be cautious of 1v1 Lee Sin if built for damage due to [imgsmall=skills/leesin/w.png] giving life steal and armor. [img=champ/malzahar.png] Malzahar has huge single target burst potential when [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png] is up. If you're unsure if it's up then play defensively or stay near teammates. Without [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png], Malzahar becomes more easier to 1v1. If you need to dodge [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/q.png] or [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/w.png] use [imgsmall=skills/vayne/q.png]. [img=champ/nasus.png] Nasus isn't scary early game because of his [imgsmall=skills/nasus/q.png] requiring farm to do high damage and usually won't get enough farm for it to be dangerous. His [imgsmall=skills/nasus/w.png] is a real pain since it shuts down your movement and damage output while it's up. Standing in [imgsmall=skills/nasus/e.png] will allow Nasus to do true damage if you have no armor items. If [imgsmall=skills/nasus/r.png] is used, kite or run from Nasus until it is finished. [img=champ/nocturne.png] Nocturne is much stronger early game and if not fed will slowly fall off late game. Nocturne is very dangerous to Vayne because of [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] blocking [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]'s knockback, and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] giving him ample time to destroy Vayne. If Nocturne is on the enemy team, be cautious of attempting 1v1 because they might turn into 1v2 with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] [img=champ/pantheon.png] Pantheon's [imgsmall=skills/pantheon/w.png] is strong, but if timed right you can knockback Pantheon before it lands. His passive ([imgsmall=skills/pantheon/p.png]) allows him to live a bit longer but overall Pantheon isn't that strong unless fed early game. Similar to Nocturne, Pantheon can turn fights from 1v1 to 1v2 with [imgsmall=skills/pantheon/r.png] [img=champ/poppy.png] Poppy is a VERY scary champion if she is fed. She has the ability to burst any champion if they are caught near terrain with [imgsmall=skills/poppy/e.png]. [imgsmall=skills/poppy/p.png] makes Poppy very strong against burst champions such as Vayne. I wouldn't recommend 1v1 against her unless you know you can poke without dying. [imgsmall=skills/poppy/r.png] also nullifies all damage from any non-targeted champion, so use that time to retreat or kill her allies. [img=champ/riven.png] Riven is very powerful on dominion due to high scaling. Since Riven is able to get items much quicker, and get her +AD. I would recommend you run away from her if she is full health. [imgsmall=skills/riven/w.png] can allow her you put some burst damage, and [imgsmall=skills/riven/r.png] can devastate your health. Only attempt to kill her if you have nearby teammates assisting. [img=champ/shaco.png] Shaco is scary due to his escape abilities. If you buy [imgsmall=items/the-lightbringer.png] then Shaco's [imgsmall=skills/shaco/q.png] is taken away allowing you to continue damaging. AP Shaco is very scary on Dominion and you should be wary of entering bushes or capturing points. Three boxes can take you from full to half health if you remain near the boxes and fear hasn't ended. [img=champ/vladimir.png] Vladimir counters Vayne due to [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] giving him health and [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] removing [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png] before you can get another hit. Kiting Vladimir is the best way to kill him since he can't [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] and slow you down. [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png] allows Vladimir to put large damage and then burst you when the five seconds is over. [img=champ/xinzhao.png] Xin Zhao is strong due to [imgsmall=skills/xinzhao/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/xinzhao/e.png]. His high attack speed from [imgsmall=skills/xinzhao/w.png] makes him able to use them both twice during a fight if it lasts long enough. A good counter to Xin Zhao is [imgsmall=items/thornmail.png]; It will make you survive longer and he will damage himself.

[title][center]Early Game[/center][/title] Vayne isn't a great early game champion so try to let your teammates take the damage while you attack from the back. Vayne's early game damage will come from [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] so any time it's up is a good time to attack someone. If you can't burst them down before they come onto you then you might want to run away and wait for [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png] to be up before engaging again. Pre 6 Vayne can be defensive and just stick with teammates to capture and defend points. I would only recommend roaming to experienced players on dominion who know the common paths and how to prey on that. [imgext=] [title][center]Mid Game[/center][/title] By mid game you should have [sanguine-blade][imgsmall=items/berserkers-greaves.png][imgsmall=items/zeal.png]. These will allow you to do good damage and stay alive. You can now start looking for fights against enemies that going through the bushes. If you have [the-lightbringer] then you can prey on the enemies in the bushes and get easy kills. Hide in the bushes, pop Ult then tumble and condemn enemy into a wall. They will be stun while you blow them up before they can get you. Plus they are unable to hide with [the-lightbringer] showing their movements. If you had a bad early game then focus on moving with teammates. This will allow you to get some kills while using your teammates as a decoy if you need to run away. Try to get the Dominion Storm Shield whenever it's up and your teammates are trying to contest a point or you can easily snipe off an enemy. The buff has great synergy with Vayne's true damage. I won the majority of the games so you can watch and see certain ganking spots, or what the general idea is behind Vayne in dominion. I do make some mistakes so be aware that this isn't a montage of my amazing kills or anything. [highlight]Unedited footage[/highlight] Main thing you can look at is item selection and how Vayne is able to carry most of the late game. I also have different mastery and item builds on each video. You can check out how Vayne tends to be stronger with certain champions and good teammates. I will try to update with more gameplay footage. Check the link to find additional games.

(this stacks additively with other healing reduction effects and affects all types of healing) mana regeneration bonus. A fixed experience gain over time. Increased gold gain over time. [.]Mark of the Conqueror 10% increased damage. [.]Storm Shield 10% increased damage. 250 health shield. [.]Health Relics ~250 health. ~70 mana.

This will be about whether to choose attack speed items or high damage items for Vayne. I will try to go in depth about why certain items may be better or worse depending on your playstyle, and how your team composition and teamwork can make a certain build better. For this, I will look at the two common builds I have found that work on Dominion; Attack speed Vayne and High Vayne. [center][highlight]Attack Speed Vayne[/highlight][/center] This build is centered around getting attack speed items and focusing on using [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png] for your damage output. This build outshines high damage Vayne in late game but requires you to stay near teammates during early and mid game. The advantages to this build are; [.]Higher DPS during team fights [.]Faster silver bolt procs [.]Safer escaping from being behind teammates The disadvantages to this build are; [.]Slower early game [.]Less burst damage [.]requires high attack speed Build: [imgsmall=items/boots-of-swiftness.png][imgsmall=items/wits-end.png][imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png][imgsmall=items/the-lightbringer.png][imgsmall=items/kitaes-bloodrazor.png][imgsmall=items/the-black-cleaver.png] This build requires your teammates to know how to play and stick together when engaging enemies. The high attack speed is great because it procs [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png] faster for true damage. You will do less damage and burst than High Damage build but if fights are lasting longer than 4 seconds this build will outshine. You should allow your allies to take the damage if possible and stay near the back. Because of the high attack speed you will be able to get [imgsmall=skills/vayne/w.png] proc'ed quickly and move back or forward for better positioning. This is a video demonstrating attack speed Vayne. It shows the amazing late game damage and how it's a struggle early game with and without teammates. [center][highlight]High Damage Vayne[/highlight][/center] This build is centered around getting high damage items and using burst damage to kill enemies, usually with [imgsmall=skills/vayne/e.png]. This build becomes powerful mid game when you get [imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png] or [imgsmall=items/sanguine-blade.png]. This allows you to 1v1 other champions but can be dangerous if you're not able to burst them quick enough. The advantages to this build are; [.]High burst potential [.]Able to 1v1 champions [.]High mid game damage The disadvantages to this build are; [.]Low damage after initial burst [.]Relies heavily on burst [.]Less late game damage than "attack speed vayne" Build: [imgsmall=items/berserkers-greaves.png][imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png][imgsmall=items/the-black-cleaver.png][imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png][imgsmall=items/sanguine-blade.png][imgsmall=items/the-lightbringer.png] This build is amazing if you're attempting to solo or roam. I personally think that the high burst helps against squishy targets that are moving alone through the map. If you don't think you can kill a target before they are able to damage/kill you then you should just run away and wait for another opportunity. Because of the lower attack speed throughout the game this build isn't that great if you can't find someone to burst. I would say that because of doing higher mid game damage that you should be able to get enough kills to get items faster. This is a video demonstrating High Damage Vayne. It shows fast ramp up of damage during mid game and how it slowly becomes weaker than Attack Speed Vayne if the game goes on too long. It also shows the damage potential of building for straight damage. I had good teammates that actually helped.
