Hey everyone, Kayle has been one of the most misunderstood champions in the game, especially after his remake people have stopped playing him calling him "useless". Some of you have seen my Shaco guide, which I started back when Shaco was also labeled "useless" and I proved him to be useful even before his buffs. This guide will explain some of the misconceptions of Kayle, and how to best utilize Kayle's special skill set as an AD carry. Also after suggesting the idea of an AD Kayle to v8 Aphromoo on Nhat Nguyen's stream http://solomid.net/livestream.php?s=677 the two duo queued with the AD Kayle/Support Nunu bot lane, named "Snow Angels" by them, and won 3 straight games pretty convincingly. I have included information regarding the way that he played Kayle because I found it interesting and another good style for playing AD Kayle. It also adds credibility to my claim that AD Kayle is in fact viable. Other guides have given extensive information on how to be effective in team fights especially pertaining to Kayle's ult. I have therefore focused this guide mostly around the laning phase to show how AD Kayle can work against any matchup.

Kayle has long been seen as a hybrid and in some ways she is, because her autoattacks deal additional magic damage and her nuke deals magic damage. However, there are a few reasons why Kayle makes a stronger AD carry than she does when built hybrid or AP: Pros: [.]Nuke scales off of 1.0 bonus AD [.]Has a passive that reduces enemy armor and MR by percent [.]Has a slow, speed boost, heal, splash damage, and her ult gives 3 seconds of complete immunity [.]Has more base health, armor, and MR than any other AD carry [.]Can 1 v 1 any AD carry end game [.]Having a heal allows Kayle to play with non-sustaining supports [.]Opponents have to build both armor and MR to shut you down Cons: [.]Her ranged attack has a cooldown [.]Kayle's damage doesn't scale as well as other AD carries [.]Kayle has high mana costs for her nuke and heal [.]Naturally pushes her lane with splash damage

I have gone through the math for damage output with Kayle and found that the recommended rune setup gives ideal damage output assuming you get the armor seals. However, there are alternatives that have uses other than pure damage output. [title]Marks (Reds)[/title] [number]1.[/number]Armor Penetration- ArmPen reds are pretty standard for an AD champion. I wouldn't choose anything else for marks. [title]Seals (Yellows)[/title] [number]1.[/number]Armor- These will make sure that your exchanges early game are more in your favor. Especially having medium range, being able to reduce enemy harass is necessary. [number]2.[/number]Attack Speed- These will give higher damage output than the armor seals but not enough to make it worth it in exchanges. The armor reduces more of your opponent's damage than the AS increases the damage you will do to them. [number]3.[/number]Mana Regen- If you play more bursty and use your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] a lot then you will need these but you will have to sacrifice your early game tankiness. [title]Glyphs (Blues)[/title] [number]1.[/number]Attack Speed- AS is the best stat to increase your damage output for glyphs, however you may prefer another stat. [number]2.[/number]Mana Regen- Same with the seals, MP5 is a good stat but I prefer the above for damage output. [number]3.[/number]Magic Resist- This is a great stat if you get scaling MR for late game, but Kayle already has scaling base MR unlike most other champions, so I find this to be excessive. If you get flat MR glyphs you will find little use for it in lane unless you are against a more hybrid opponent such as Corki, Tristana, or another Kayle (if in normals). [title]Quints[/title] [number]1.[/number]Armor Penetration- After doing the math I have found that these will do more damage than flat AD quints. Most AD carries get flat AD quints though to make last hitting easier. However with Kayle's [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] getting flat AD quints are unnecessary because last hitting is already incredibly easy. [number]2.[/number]Attack Damage- If you really need help last hitting then you can get these but I prefer the ArmPen.

[title] Passive: Holy Fervor[/title] [number]Kayle's basic attacks against enemy champions now reduce their armor and magic resistance by 3% for 5 seconds (stacks up to 5 times)[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This passive is one of the reasons Kayle is so strong as an AD carry. It doesn't just amplify your own damage it also increases the damage your teammates do, which makes Kayle a dream for whom to gank. It gets stronger and stronger as the game goes on in team fights and the tankier that your enemies get. The more attack speed you get the more this will benefit your team. [title] Q: Reckoning[/title] [number]Blasts a target, dealing 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+100% of bonus attack damage and +100% of ability power) magic damage and slowing its movement speed by 35% for 4 seconds. While the target is slowed, Kayle inflicts 6/7/8/9/10% increased damage to them. Cooldown 8 seconds Cost 70/75/80/85/90 mana Range 650[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] One of the best nukes on an AD carry, it deals good base damage with a 1.0 bonus AD scaling, a great slow, increases the damage you do after it hits, AND it's range is equal to Caitlyn's autoattack range which means that despite having mediocre range with your E, this will allow you to easily close the gap. This is the only reason why you can play Kayle in bottom lane even against someone as strong as a Caitlyn. Spamming this will get you into mana trouble so use it sparingly unless you have Mana Regen runes/masteries. [title] W: Divine Blessing[/title] [number]Blesses an allied champion, healing them for 45/85/125/165/205 (+35% of ability power) health and increasing their movement speed by 15/17/19/21/23% for 2.5 seconds. Cooldown 15 seconds Cost 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana Range 1000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] The heal isn't great and it's low AP ratio is the reason why building AP Kayle or Hybrid Kayle isn't as strong as AD Kayle. In lane you can use this for moderate sustain but overusing it will also send you into mana problems. Having a heal on an AD carry though makes it very viable to play Kayle with a non-sustaining support. If you do this you may want to use Mana Regen runes/masteries. The best thing about this skill though isn't the heal, it's the speed boost. This along with the slow from [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] substantially makes up for Kayle's moderate autoattack range. It's great for getting back to lane faster, escaping ganks, and finishing kills. It also has a HUGE range which can save your allies. [title] E: Righteous Fury[/title] [number]Kayle's attacks strike at range. These attacks splash, dealing an additional magic damage to her target and nearby units take 20 / 25 / 30 / 35.5 / 40% of her attack damage plus magic damage. The total bonus damage is 20/30/40/50/60 base damage plus (+20% of ability power). Cooldown 16 seconds Cost 45 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is the skill that makes Kayle who she is. The extra magic damage to your target makes last hitting super easy. The splash damage scales off of your AD and is the reason why I max this skill first. It's mana cost is low and doesn't increase as you level it either which is another reason I max it first. You can use this in lane whenever it's off cooldown for a VERY long time. You won't have mana problems if you use this for harass and last hitting instead of your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png]. You have to get used to the splash damage though so you don't mess up your own last hits. Make sure your lane is warded because you tend to push the lane. If you try not to push it, it will get stuck in a very awkward place where you are in constant danger, so autoattacking creeps more to push the wave all the way into turret is oftentimes necessary. [title] R: Intervention[/title] [number]Bathes Kayle's target in a holy light, rendering them immune to all damage for 2 / 2.5 / 3 seconds. Cooldown 90seconds Cost 100 / 75 / 50mana Range 1200[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Boom! Another awesome skill! So you've been wondering if anyone can 1 v 1 a full item Vayne/Tristana late game? This is the skill that lets Kayle beat either of these very scary late game AD carries 1 v 1. Great for turret diving during the laning phase, and preventing damage onto yourself or an ally in team fights. This has 1200 range so you can save allies from a very safe distance. It is best not to use this at 1 tick of health, but instead as you or an ally is about to take a lot of damage. Good examples of using your ult: Put this on the target of [imgsmall=champ/malzahar.png]'s ult, [imgsmall=champ/warwick.png]'s ult, [imgsmall=champ/skarner.png]'s ult. Kayle's ult completely negates hard initiations like those above, and is a great pick against team comps that focus on single target damage.

[title]Sustained Damage AD Carry:[/title] > > > I choose [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] first because it's mana cost doesn't increase and it gives great sustained damage. Next you want to level your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] whenever you feel comfortable without another level in your heal, because it increases your damage output significantly. Ideally you will only need 1 point in your heal until late game, but sometimes you need 1 or 2 extra points in it for sustain or the speed. [title]Burst Damage AD Carry:[/title] > > > If you're more burst inclined, then maxing your nuke is recommended and again grabbing your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] whenever you feel comfortable without another level in your heal. [title]Support:[/title] > > > If you play support you will generally want to max your heal and then your nuke because you won't be able to do sustained damage when you're support. If you feel safe enough to get into the fight you can level W > E > Q but I find that without farm you typically will want to sit back a little more and throw a big Q whenever you can.

I want to emphasize the fact that building only items from the "Damage Items" or any of the other sections is not an ideal build. Depending on the individual game you will have to mix and match from the damage, defensive, and utility sections. [title]Starting Items[/title] [.] - This is generally the best start on Kayle because with mediocre range, the boots will help you close distance for exchanges and dodge any skill shots. The sustain from health pots is also great, and Kayle has higher base health than any other typical AD carry so the health from Doran's isn't as necessary. [.]- I only start this if I have a great sustaining lane, particularly with a [imgsmall=champ/sona.png] because she has both sustain and can help me close distance with her E. [title]Boots[/title] [.]- I choose these because the attack speed is so good on Kayle due to her [imgsmall=skills/kayle/p.png], [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png], and [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png]. [.]- If the enemy team has a lot of magic damage or CC I might grab these to ensure that I get my [imgsmall=skills/kayle/r.png] off. However, I usually prefer to stick with berserker's greaves and pick up a [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png]. [.]- This is not a bad choice on Kayle, because CDR is a great stat for all of her spells, particularly her [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] and [imgsmall=skills/kayle/r.png]. With few good CDR items that benefit AD carries, you may want this item and build more attack speed with other items. [title]Core Item Build[/title] (x2) This is a pretty standard core item build for an AD carry. The vamp scepter is good to get regardless if you go [imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png] or [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] because that lifesteal will give you incredible sustain in lane. [title]Damage Items[/title] [.]- Great damage item that will make Kayle's autoattacks hit HARD. The only problem with this item is that with Kayle's mediocre range, the lack of lifesteal isn't ideal. If you feel like you don't need the lifesteal then this is a good pick. It's also more expensive than a BT, which is why I don't pick it as often for my first item after my core. [.]- Great damage when it is stacked and even not stacked. It also provides tremendous survivability on Kayle. Kayle's ability to farm easily makes it easy to get stacks. This is usually my first item after my core item build. [.]- Get this after you finish BT or IE for a huge increase in damage. The longer a fight goes on the more substantial the increase in damage. If you find yourself in really early team fights getting a [imgsmall=items/zeal.png] before finishing your first BF sword item is viable because it will give you more damage. The movement speed is great too because of Kayle's mediocre range. Getting 2 of these end game gives incredible DPS, and will help when an enemy builds a [imgsmall=items/frozen-heart.png] or [imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png]. [.]- Some say that this is unnecessary because of Kayle's passive, and while Kayle's passive does a similar job to this item, having both will tear through the tankiest of enemies. Only get this when the enemy is getting a lot of armor. [title]The "v8 Aphromoo" build[/title] [item=infinity-edge], [item=frozen-mallet], [item=atmas-impaler]- Atma's is a great item on Kayle because of her high base health, so this item build gives some solid damage, tankiness, and slows to your autoattacks. Keep in mind that this build lacks attack speed because Aphromoo was playing these games with a [imgsmall=champ/nunu.png] support who provided Aphromoo with the AS necessary. If you play Kayle without a Nunu you will want some for of attack speed. [title]Defensive Items[/title] [.]- With Kayle's high base health this item provides great resistances which are most efficient at increasing her survivability. The passive also allows you to either have 2 lives essentially or use your ult on another member of your team. [.]- Against heavy CC you need to make sure that you can use your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/r.png] so if you're getting focused you have to get this. [.]- As an AD carry this isn't my favorite item because you can get AS from your PD and MR from your QSS. This item is better on a tanky DPS Kayle who doesn't build PD. [.]- Meh item on Kayle. Kayle's base health is already higher than any other AD carry so I don't usually build this unless I play top lane one game. If you get an atma's you can build this. Kayle's farming abilities allow her to get stacks on this very quickly, but Kayle benefits most from resistances as opposed to health for defense. [.]- Great item against physical damage even without a [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] or [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png] because of Kayle's high base health. It also gives crit chance which works well with an [imgsmall=items/infinity-edge.png] and [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png]. [title]Utility Items[/title] [.]- If you need to keep enemies within your range I suggest this item. I prefer this to [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png] because the [imgsmall=items/sheen.png] damage falls off late game and Kayle's base damage isn't extremely high. [.]- Not my favorite item on Kayle, but if the enemy team is building a lot of health and you want to be able to take down baron very fast this isn't a bad choice. I would prefer this on your jungler though. [.]- Again, not the best item for Kayle, but if your team is heavily AD and your jungler isn't building this, you may want to take one for the team and get it. The lifesteal, health regen, armor reduction aura, and attack speed will all benefit you. [.]- If your team is heavily AD this is a good item for increasing everyone's damage. It compliments your passive very well. [.]- This is one of the few items that gives CDR as an AD item. The active doesn't benefit from Kayle's attacks when her [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] is on so I typically prefer to build a [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png] for the permanent movement speed for positioning. But if you really want CDR this is an ok item for you.

[title]The Ideal Combo:[/title] When you engage in lane you don't want to rush using your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png]. Ideally you would want to get off 5 autoattacks to reduce the enemy's armor/MR and then use your Q and continue to attack. However this is not likely going to happen. A more realistic way of engaging is to autoattack if you can get in range and as soon as the enemy begins to run away or towards you, use your Q. The reason for this is that if you can get autoattacks off before your Q, it will do more damage so if you don't need the slow to get attacks off, don't use it. Once you need the slow to get into range then you can use it. A common combo goes like this: E, Attack, Attack, Q, Attack, Attack, Attack, W, Attack... A combo like this will keep your enemy in your range constantly while attacking. Against champs with higher range like [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png] you might have to use your Q first, and usually it will be enough to get the kill anyways. [title]AD Lane Match-ups:[/title] - Ashe is typically a weak laner, having no escape ability and usually wants to play passively. Ashe has 600 range compared to your 525 and has a great slow on her attacks so you may need to use your Q and W early to close distance against her. Fortunately once you're in range she is very squishy and will die very quickly. You benefit most from playing aggressive against her. - Caitlyn is one of the strongest AD laners in the game because she has very high range (650). Caitlyn falls off later game compared to other AD carries, so it is to her benefit to dominate you early. The range on your Q is equal to her autoattack range and so this allows you to exchange with her. If you play passively trying to farm she will slowly poke you down very low, so you benefit most from engaging hard as opposed to passively farming. Your ult counters her ult which is nice. You will want either an aggressive support that will make it easier for you to hard engage on her or a very good sustainer like [imgsmall=champ/sona.png] or [imgsmall=champ/soraka.png] to combine with your heal to nullify her poke. - Corki has high burst, good escape, and the ability to engage quickly with Valkyrie. His range is only 550 (yours 525) so it isn't too difficult to get into range of your autoattack. Corki will usually benefit more from a hard engage because he has better burst than you, however, your sustained damage from small exchanges will surpass his. Watch out for when he runs low on mana because he is very reliant on mana for his burst. Once you have your ult you can hard engage because you can prevent his burst and he can't do the same to yours. - Ezreal (range 550) is another AD champ reliant on mana. You can treat him much like Corki, except that EZ's Q has a range of 1100 allowing him to poke as well as hard engage with burst. Ezreal falls off late game compared to Kayle so starting boots to dodge his Q and poking back at him when he misses will help you win early game. Again once you hit 6 you can try to hard engage once he uses his blink so that he has no escape because you can ignore his burst. If he gets low on mana you can engage. Because you are stronger than him late as long as you stay at least near even on farm with him you will dominate him later. - Graves is one of the strongest AD carries in lane right now because his passive gives him armor, his spells do great burst damage, and he has good mobility. That being said he only has 525 range and is countered well by Kayle because Kayle's [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png] and [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] do magic damage so Graves' armor bonus will be less effective than against other AD carries. Also your ult can counter Graves' ult assuming you have a reasonable reaction time. You can absolutely dominate a Graves in lane by poking him down over time until you hit 6 when you can hard engage. If you start boots and can dodge his Buckshot you can win small exchanges easily. - Kogmaw has a base range of 500 but when he uses his Bio-Arcane Barrage he gains exceptional range. Against Kog whenever his Bio-Arcane Barrage is off cooldown you can harass him constantly just with your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/e.png]. He also doesn't have great escape so you can be very aggressive in this lane. - MF has 550 range so you should be able to get some autoattacks in to slowly poke her down. Her passive gives a lot of movement speed after not taking damage for 7 seconds so it is to your benefit to get an autoattack on her once ever 7 seconds or so to keep this passive on cooldown. Watch out for her double-up and whenever she ults their is a good chance you will want to ult yourself or an ally. This is a lane you can win by poking over time as long as you dodge her double-up. Hard engaging will be more difficult because she has a slow, and good burst damage and sustained damage so only hard engage when you have an evident advantage over her. - This is one of the most difficult lane match-ups as Kayle. Her spellshield can block your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] which denies you a LOT of damage. The best way to counter this is have [imgsmall=champ/soraka.png] as your support. The sustain is good, and best of all she can silence Sivir while you use your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/q.png] to prevent her from spellshielding it. If you don't have a Soraka support, you may have to play more carefully when it comes to engaging. Sivir has 500 range so with autoattacks you can try to outpoke her, but you need to start boots to dodge her boomerang. If you can try to bait her to use her spell shield and wait until after it goes on cooldown she will be forced to play passively because it gives you a large window to hard engage on her. - Tristana has 550 range at level 1 which is already higher than yours, and as she levels she gains more range so as the laning phase continues she will be able to harass you better with autoattacks. She is strongest at level 2 and 6 because of her burst usually. However, when you both hit level 6 you can completely negate her ult. Therefore at level 2 watch out for her to try to burst your face looking for a hard engage. In this match-up you will likely want Flat MR glyphs to counteract some of her burst. You have to play safely in lane. Tristana is very strong late game, but so are you. If you maintain an even lane you will both be the scariest members on your team. Once you hit 6 you can be more aggressive because you can ignore her burst, but she has great escape so it will be difficult for you to get a kill. Your objective in this lane is to play very cautiously last hitting the best you can until you hit level 6. You will definitely want a good sustaining support. - As uncommon as this lane match-up is, it can't hurt to be aware of the possibility of an AD TF. He has a stun on a very short cooldown, and can sustain his mana by himself. He will be stronger pre-level 6 for a hard engage but your poke should be even with equal range. When you both hit 6, you will be better in a hard engage but you have to be aware of him ganking other lanes or coming back sooner than most AD carries to lane because of his ult. - Twitch in bot lane seems to be becoming more popular. Most AD carry Twitch players don't rely on his stealth but rather his poison and his expunge. You still need to be careful for his stealth antics but usually they are very predictable. You really don't want to exchange a large number of autoattacks with him though before you have ult because his poison adds damage to his nuke. He has 500 range so if you can autoattack him on occasion without him getting into range to attack you then you will benefit. You are far more mobile than him which allows you to slowly poke him down. - Urgot is one of the strongest AD carries in lane because if he lands his Noxian Corrosive Charge he gets free damage on you from 1000 range. Starting boots is necessary to dodge it. His autoattack range is 425 and his Q can't go through minions so if you stay behind minions you can poke him down with autoattacks easily. His autoattacks reduce the damage you do by 15% so NEVER get into that range. He falls off very hard late game so as long as you continue farming you will have a great advantage. He is also very reliant on mana so if you see him low you can hard engage. - Vayne is another terrifying late game carry, but with your ult you can still 1 v 1 her late game. Vayne doesn't have the strongest lane phase but she does have 550 range to your 525. Don't get too close to walls or your turret where she can stun you. You can win early exchanges if you can get into range and can be very aggressive against her with the right support. When you use your ult against her there is a very key time to use it. On her 3rd autoattack she deals additional true damage, so if you engage on her let her get her 2 attacks on you and ult yourself when the third is on the way. This will significantly decrease her damage against you taking away one of her strongest attributes. [title]Supports:[/title] - With: Alistar is a good combo with Kayle because he has multiple CCs, and Kayle benefits most from having more time to attack more. This combo is deadly, and while the 2 individually don't have a lot of sustain, the 2 together have more than enough. Against: Alistar relies a lot on bush control, so making sure that your support wards the bush or is a support that gives bush control will be very beneficial to staying safe in lane. With your slow and speed boost you shouldn't have trouble staying out of his CC. Starting boots is recommended against Ali. - With: Like Alistar, Blitz provides good CC and his pull keeps enemies from running away. He is a very aggressive lane partner. Your speed boost with his will allow him to easily get a knockup. Against: Again, like Alistar, Blitz relies on bush control so ward up those bushes. Also staying on the other side of minions prevents him from pulling you. - With: GP support will give you more movement speed, damage, and he harasses very well with Parley. You can focus on farming as he harasses and once they get low enough he is very strong in helping you to hard engage. Against: If GP tries to harass you with his Parley (625 range) you can slow him and hard engage easily if you have a lane partner with at least 1 CC. Support GP is typically more squishy, so hard engaging before he can poke you down is ideal. - With: Heimerdinger's turrets when placed in the river can prevent ganks, which is good because Kayle tends to push the lane. He has an unreliable stun and good poke with rockets. His stun has a big hit box for blind so even if he misses the stun your exchanges will be far more profitable because their attacks won't hit. Against: Ask your support to get a pink ward to prevent them from warding the bush closest to you. This opens the lane up to lane ganks, and forces them to put a turret there (which will attack minions from the bush, effectively pushing the lane back to you). His turrets also give you free gold. - With: Her shield helps you in exchanges by giving you more AD, and reducing damage done to you. She also has a slow, knockup and her ult is great at resetting an engage or if she can get behind them, knocking them back to you. Her passive also increases your movement speed. She is a very great pick for support for Kayle. Against: Janna doesn't have any form of sustain so you typically want to try to poke down an enemy slowly or focus her first so she can't CC you. - With: Karma can speed you up and/or slow an enemy which helps you to engage. She also has an AOE heal and shield. While an underestimated support without doubt she still isn't the best support choice for Kayle. Against: Her damage relies on you getting close to her or an enemy so stay at max range when possible. She also relies heavily on her mantra, so she can't constantly heal. You will want to poke over time just like with Janna and force her to use her mantra to heal. Then you can hard engage. - With: Awesome combination! Leona has tons of CC, which allows for a very aggressive lane. You may rely more on your heal for sustain so you may want mana regen runes/masteries. Against: Because she has no sustain focus on poking in small engages. Starting boots allows you to dodge her skill shots. - With: Her snare, slow, and damage allow for a good lane combination, but there are still other better choices. Against: Start boots to dodge her snare and slow. She has no sustain so slowly poke the other AD down and then hard engage. - With: SNOW ANGELS!!! This lane is pretty terrifying. Kayle slows, and with bloodboil can deal a lot of damage, then followed by Nunu's slow. Once they both hit 6, you can tower dive and ult the Nunu so that he gets off a great ult. Against: Warding bushes will prevent him from hitting you with slow. His slow also lowers attack speed so this is a great pick to counter Kayle. However, the range on your slow is 650 and his is 550 so if you have vision of him you can prevent him from getting near you. You will want someone with hard CC to interrupt his ult as your support. - With: Shaco's boxes prevent jungle ganks, and allow you to safely push the lane. His slow and fear can help you get early kills. Also something people tend to overlook when it comes to Shaco support is that he can put 3 boxes at your blue/red etc. to shorten your jungler's jungle time significantly and make sure that he's healthy enough to gank earlier. An earlier gank can help you get a big advantage in lane. Against: Buy a pink ward to put it in bushes and just kill any boxes he puts down for free gold. - With: She has great poke, sustain, and can speed you up to close distance. Her ult allows you to get several extra attacks off. She is a great choice of support because regardless of your opponents, she can fit any role, whether it's to initiate, poke, or just sustain while you farm. Against: Stay behind minions to avoid her Q. Her sustain is on a short cooldown but not a huge heal, so engaging hard will be better than slowly poking down the enemy AD. - With: She can give you free mana, which means you can be more spammy with your skills. She is a solid support, but her heal is on a long cooldown, so it makes sense to go for hard engages so that the armor buff from her heal is better used. Against: Constantly poking down the enemy AD is best because her heal is on a long cooldown. Her silence can prevent you from ulting so make sure not to wait until you're really low to use it. - With: His stun is very reliable, he gives you a lot of armor, and he has good burst. It is to your advantage to hard engage when possible. Against: Fortunately a good portion of your damage is magic damage which means that the armor given by his Shatter won't be as effective as it would be against other carries. Beware of his stun though. His stun has 625 range, your slow has 650 range. If you have bushes warded you should be able to avoid his stun always. - With: Yorick's harass is pretty great! And his ult with your ult is unbelievable! Until you hit 6 you will want to play more poke, and once you hit 6 you can dive turrets like nobody's business. Against: The range on his ghouls are all shorter than your slow, so you should be able to avoid his harass as long as you have the bushes warded. When he hits 6 his lane can be aggressive, so try to avoid a hard engage and just poke the other AD down. - With: Zilean has good harass in lane with his bombs which can allow you to farm while he pokes. Then when the enemy gets low you can engage with his slow and your slow. The nice thing is that his slow has 700 range so he can hit his first allowing you to attack first to gain more damage from your nuke. His ult and your ult are very strong allowing you to be very aggressive when you both hit 6. Against: The range on his bombs and slow are both 700 which is higher than your slow. This means you will have to have the bushes warded and heal yourself to speed you up to get out of his arrange when he goes to harass as opposed to slowing him. Usually you can turn the harass around on another support but against this support you have to either play passively avoiding his bombs, or if he gets a bomb on you, you have to return harass and engage hard. Zilean is best at poke so if you engage hard you can kill him easily.

Once team fights begin, depending on how you built you have a couple options. [.]If you built more tanky you can really get into the fight and not fear autoattacking everyone. [.]However, if you went for an AD carry build then you will want to wait until your team is able to single out one of their players for you to nuke and focus. Kayle is the tankiest AD carry out their so you can be more aggressive with positioning than other AD carries but you aren't a tank so position yourself behind your tanks and save your ult for the person getting focused in the team fight that is a threat, which will usually be you if you did well early game. It could also be a fed AP carry. Use your [imgsmall=skills/kayle/w.png] more for the speed boost than for the heal, so use it on your tank when trying to initiate a fight. Kayle's utility in a team fight is what makes her arguably one of the strongest carries. Her ult can save herself or another teammate, her heal can help initiate or run away, her slow can single out a target, and her passive can help her teammates do more damage to her target. Which is great for a single-target oriented team. Her splash damage also makes her useful in AOE team comps. The versatility of Kayle in these fights makes her strong with most team comps.

So I hope reading more about Kayle's abilities and understanding how he works with lane matchups, you may begin to see that he is a very strong AD carry. All of his abilities have good utility and he has higher base health, armor, and magic resist than any other AD carry, which makes up for his mediocre range. While many see it as a troll pick, v8 Aphromoo and Nhat Nguyen from EG can tell you that AD Kayle is stronger than people give him credit for. I always appreciate feedback both positive and negative, and so please leave me a comment after trying out AD Kayle a few times.
