I'm a 19 year old amateur gamer from Sweden. I've played League of Legends for the last three years. I'm playing on the EUWest server, and I'm currently Gold I. Hopefully platinum anytime soon! I've been playing videogames since I was a little kid, so I'm very passionate about it. Hopefully you'll find this guide helpful, I've put a lot of time and effort into it. :)

[title]Pros:[/title] + High poke with [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png] + Great AOE Slowing with [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png] + Great chaser and escaper due to [imgsmall=skills/khazix/e.png] + Great push capabilities with [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png] + Great 1v1 fighter + Extreme amounts of Burst damage [title]Cons:[/title] - Squishy since you're an assassin. - Can get caught if you're not using your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/r.png] correctly in a teamfight. - Before evolving your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png] you could have a hard time vs high poke champs.

[imgext=http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120921172920/leagueoflegends/images/e/e4/Evolution_Enlarged_Claws.jpg] Since Kha'Zix just went through a couple of nerfs to his W, and buffs to his Q, this spell should be the first or second skill that you evolve. It gives you extremely high burst damage and a small increase on your basic attack range. [imgext=http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120921173426/leagueoflegends/images/9/92/Evolution_Spike_Racks.jpg] Nowadays I usually don't evolve my Spike Racks, unless my team does lack poke or wave clearing. If I actually evolve it, I do it last. [imgext=http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120921173758/leagueoflegends/images/d/dc/Evolution_Wings.jpg] I usually evolve this either first or second, usually second. From what I know, you can jump over any wall in the current game with the evolved Leap, which grants a huge defensive and offensive utility to you. [imgext=http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120921174057/leagueoflegends/images/d/dc/Evolution_Active_Camouflage.jpg] The reason why I evolve [imgsmall=skills/khazix/r.png] instead of [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png] is because the nerfs to his void spikes. Compared to the utility evolving your R grants which is 40/40/40% Damage reduction, stealth three times instead of twice.

The runes I've picked up is basic runes. You should vary your runes against different matchups. I'm gonna go into a couple different matchups. [title]Ranged AP's[/title] (Examples of ranged AP's [imgsmall=champ/anivia.png], [imgsmall=champ/lux.png], [imgsmall=champ/orianna.png]) In this matchup, they are going to be able to poke you A LOT with basic attacks, since you are a melee champ after all. These are the most standard runes when playing Kha'Zix in mid lane. [imgext=http://puu.sh/3ylxZ.jpg] [title]Melee AP's[/title] (Examples of melee AP's [imgsmall=champ/akali.png], [imgsmall=champ/diana.png], [imgsmall=champ/gragas.png]) In this matchup you shouldn't be in need of armor runes since they aren't gonna autohit you that much. Instead you should go this: [imgext=http://puu.sh/3ylBQ.jpg] [title]Ranged AD's[/title] (Examples of ranged AD's played in mid [imgsmall=champ/jayce.png], [imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png]) In this matchup, which actually doesn't occur that often, you should go something like this [imgext=http://puu.sh/3ylDD.jpg] [title]Melee AD's[/title] (Examples of melee AD's played in mid [imgsmall=champ/jarvaniv.png], [imgsmall=champ/zed.png], [imgsmall=champ/leesin.png]) Since season 3 started, this has become something very popular, to go AD as a midlaner. This matchup can be really hard during the earlygame, due to some of them being ranged champions with a great ammount of AD, versus you who is a melee champion. These are the runes I'd pick to be able to live through this lane [imgext=http://puu.sh/3ylFN.jpg]

In this chapter I'm going to explain what I buy and why. [title]Starting Items[/title] There are mainly two good setups for starting items as Kha'Zix. You could, but I don't really recommend doing it, go 9 Potions(Either 9 flat HP pots, or mix it up with what ammount of mana pots you feel comfortable buying)+2 Sight Wards. Going flask isn't recommended anymore because of the \"nerfs\" to the item. In most matchups, I know I won't be able to kill my enemy/force a flash until atleast level 3-4. That's why I go [imgsmall=items/faerie-charm.png] [imgsmall=items/health-potion4.png] [imgsmall=items/mana-potion2.png] [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png]. This is for good sustain and the [imgsmall=items/faerie-charm.png] will build into a [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png] which should be one of your first buys. If you know that you can get killed/can all in your enemy early on, start with [imgsmall=items/elixir-of-fortitude.png] [imgsmall=items/health-potion4.png] [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png]. This has been a very commonly used \"starting build\" lately, and has been proved to save lives or get kills. [title]Core Items[/title] The core items for Kha'zix is mainly the same, unless you fall behind very hard during early game. Let's start up with [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png]. This item is insanely good for Kha'Zix. Your jungler should be able to provide you with blue buffs, which will improve your spamming greatly. If not, it still gives a slight mana regeneration and bigger manapool for you. As soon as you get it fully stacked, you should purchase a [imgsmall=items/manamune.png] which evolves automatically into a [imgsmall=items/muramana.png]. Another core item is [imgsmall=items/the-brutalizer.png], which grants you great stats for a small ammount of money. In most matchups, your opponent should be buying armor, and the armor penetration granted from this item helps you get through some of that. Always a great item on Kha'Zix, unless you fall behind. As stated earlier, if you fall behind versus an AP champion, you should probably pick up a [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png] to prevent them from bursting you down. Lastly, [imgsmall=items/vampiric-scepter.png]. This item provides great sustain and helps you alot during laning phase. You should always buy this on Kha'Zix. [title]Mid Game[/title] During midgame, you should pick up some heavy AD items. As I stated earlier in the guide, start of by saving towards [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png]. This item is just incredibly good on Kha'Zix for so many reasons. It gives him great sustain and more Attack Damage, which increases his damage output since all his abilites scales with Attack Damage. If you decided to go [imgsmall=items/blade-of-the-ruined-king.png] instead of [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png], you can either skip [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] or buy both items, but I don't recommend it as stated earlier. Buying both of these items gives you even more sustain and pretty decent damage output. As stated earlier, always try to pick up armor penetration. If you somehow lost the early game vs an AP caster, you probably picked up hexdrinker. In that case, you can go brutalizer, but you will fall of heavily during mid game, and won't deal as much damage as you want (you should always play safe unless you're getting a gank). The two options are [imgsmall=items/the-brutalizer.png] into a [imgsmall=items/the-black-cleaver.png], or a [imgsmall=items/last-whisper.png]. When these items have been picked up, you should be very close to a fully stacked [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png]. This item shall be built into a [imgsmall=items/manamune.png] (which evolves into [imgsmall=items/muramana.png]) as soon as you have full stacks. You could buy it if you can get the remaining stacks on lane. This is one of the strongest items on Kha'Zix, mainly because it increases your damage by insane ammounts ([imgsmall=skills/khazix/q.png] & Basic Attacks). Once you have these items, you should feel a huge powerspike. From this point, you should proceed into some defensive items, because you will probably get focused very hard due to your damage and utility. [title]End Game Build[/title] Now that you have the core item needed to kill most carries, you should as stated head on towards some defensive items. If you did pick up the [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png], I'd advise you to not finish it. Keep it until you have enough for some other BETTER defensive items. Examples of this is; [highlight]Armor:[/highlight] [imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png] - a very strong item which helps you to shut down their backline even harder. Grants a great armor and health boost. The passive of this item slows the attack speed by 15% and their movement speed by 10% if they are using basic attacks on you. The active of this item slows the movement speed of surrounding enemies by 35% for 2 seconds plus 0,5% of your armor & magic resistance. Really great buy since you are probably gonna jump in on them. [imgsmall=items/sunfire-cape.png] - a very solid item, has recently been nerfed, but still really good. If I'd have to chose, I'd go with [imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png] instead of [imgsmall=items/sunfire-cape.png] because Kha'Zix generally doesnt splitpush too hard (Unless you are running [imgsmall=summoners/teleport.png]). [imgsmall=items/frozen-fist.png] - a pretty strong item for chasing. Has recently been nerfed pretty hard, but still works. Wouldn't recommend this, and if you really want the extra slow, go with [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] instead. [imgsmall=items/frozen-heart.png] - if you really want flat out armor, this item is okay. This item gives him Cooldown Reduction and more mana, which synergizes with [imgsmall=items/muramana.png] since you get a bigger mana pool. [highlight]Magic Resistance:[/highlight] [imgsmall=items/spirit-visage.png] - a pretty okay item for Kha'Zix. Grants you Cooldown Reduction, Magic Resistance & More healing. Works pretty well with his [imgsmall=skills/khazix/w.png](when you're close to the enemy you get a slight ammount of hp back) and basic attacks. [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png] / [imgsmall=items/mercurial-scimitar.png] - actually a pretty good item on Kha'Zix. Can help you get out of a lot of sticky situations. Main problem with the upgrade of Quicksilver Sash is pretty expensive. Overall a great item for you as an assassin. [imgsmall=items/maw-of-malmortius.png] - an item that is considered to be \"okay\" on Kha'Zix, but not really a great buy in my opinion. Sure, it has a small magic shield and grants you some decent stats, plus a passive which gives you ad/missing health. But I don't feel like it's worth buying. There's a lot of other great buys that you should consider before buying this. [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] - this item has recently been buffed (from 45 seconds to 25 seconds), and is actually pretty fine for you. Haven't actually tried it out too much, but it grants you a decent ammount of great stats. [highlight]Health:[/highlight] [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png] - an item which works in most matchups. Has recently been nerfed, but it's still a strong item. Not the optimal item for you, but it works fine since you get a lot of hp. [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] - a pretty solid item for a lot of bruisers, great for chasing and grants pretty okay stats. Wouldn't really buy this item on Kha'Zix, but it's fine.

You are always going to want blue buff on Kha'Zix. Why? He has incredibly good poke with AoE slow. If you are about to enter a teamfight, try to poke them down as much as possible without getting caught. You can always refresh your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/p.png] by walking out of vision for the enemy team. In a teamfight, you are the initiation poke and cleanup. Your evolved [imgsmall=skills/khazix/e.png] makes you able to jump in and pick up a kill, then jump back to safety/continue the chase on remaining enemies. This is one of his core abilities to have in a teamfight. Using your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/r.png] correctly is very important. They may buy an oracle/pink ward to stop you from stealthing in and out of fights, but always try to go out when your spells are on cooldown. When you have evolved your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/r.png], you can stealth up to three times, plus it grants you a 40% damage reduction. Really useful ability, remember that this also refreshes your [imgsmall=skills/khazix/p.png], unless they have vision on you when you stealth (oracles, pink wards, stealth revealing spells etc etc).

Kha'Zix overall is a incredibly fun champion. If you get ahead you can instakill most enemies and carry games hard. If you fall behind early, just play safe and onehit people later in the game. :D Hope you enjoyed this \"guide\", it's my first one. I will try to update it often! - Jotwe, EUW.
