Hi, I thought I would share how I enjoy playing Udyr. I generally play solo top Udyr every chance I get, as Im around 2k+ Udyr games counting normal and ranked. He has "virtually no losing lane" (Damn you op Ryze/Teemo/Swain). My Udyr focuses more on an aggressive play style instead of the afk farm fest you'll see most Udyr's do. Disclaimer: This is not a tourny play style, more of a snowball solo que :P Yes I use a lot of emotes and parentheses it's how I type :D (add my alt codystreet if you wanna spectate on how I play udyr using this guide)

Udyr has Pros and Cons like any other champin in the game, some are jsut more noticable :D Pros: Can adapt very well against any team you play against Very strong split pusher Farmer Can snowball outa control very easily Shines during mid game No mana issues Cons: Ryze/Teemo/Swain is impossable for you to win against, w/o a lot of help from your jungler. Can't be a main tank KITING Falls off late game Real easy to screw up lane and snowball downhill :/

This effect can stack.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Not much to say expect it increases your atk speed :P. More useful towards end game then during the laning phase. [title][img=skills/udyr/q.png] Q: Tiger Stance[/title] [number]Activation: On his next attack, Udyr swipes at his target, dealing normal attack and dealing 150% of his attack damage + 30 / 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 extra damage over 2 seconds as magic damage. In addition, It increases attack speed 5% less than passive for 5 seconds. Persistent Effect: Udyr's attack speed is increased by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%. Half of this is persistent, the other half is activated for 5 seconds. Cooldown 6seconds Cost 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 / 35mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is your main champion killing/turret killing skill. It hits extremely had all through out the game. This skill is the reason we go full flat ad. At lvl 1 Udyr can literally half hp with 1 q. It is the hardest hitting spell in the game pre 6. [title][img=skills/udyr/w.png] W: Turtle Stance[/title] [number]Activation: Udyr gains a temporary shield that absorbs 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+50% of ability power) damage. Persistent Effect: Udyr's attacks cannot crit, but he restores 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20% of his damage as health and 9 / 10.5 / 12 / 13.5 / 15% of his damage as mana. Cooldown 6seconds Cost 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 / 35mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Your most useful ability by far. This is the skill that allows you to sustain in the lane and tower dive. Don't be afraid to auto hit in turtle if you need mana/hp. [title][img=skills/udyr/e.png] E: Bear Stance[/title] [number]Activation: Udyr gains 15 / 18 / 21 / 24 / 27% increased movement speed for 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4 seconds. Persistent Effect: Udyr mauls his target with such force that they are stunned for 1 second. This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds. Cooldown 6seconds Cost 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 / 35mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Increased movement and a stun :D. Awesome for running away when your in those over extended cituations, but we leave it at 3 because of DR. [title][img=skills/udyr/r.png] R: Phoenix Stance[/title] [number]Activation: Udyr sends out pulsing waves of fire dealing 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 (+25% of ability power) magic damage each second to nearby enemies for 5 seconds. In addition, Udyr's ability power is increased by 16 / 24 / 32 / 40 / 48 and his attack damage is increased by half of that amount. Persistent Effect: Every third attack, Udyr engulfs enemies in front of him in flame, dealing 40 / 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 (+25% of ability power) magic damage. Cooldown 6seconds Cost 55 / 50 / 45 / 40 / 35mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Your aoe dmg and ad steroid. Spam this between tigers in team fights and towers for that extra yummy dmg for your tiger. It is mainly used late game for pushing and increasing your dmg for tiger. Always try and hit 3x before you switch out of it for max dmg.

Basically with the runes I'm abusing how much damage Udyr's Tiger does. I'm in my opponents face with Tiger from level 1 and these runes help me do Max damage Red-> 9 Flat Ad Runes (Helps your last hitting and making Tiger hit more) Yellow-> 9 Flat Ad Runes (Helps your last hitting and making Tiger hit more) Blue-> 9 Flat Ad Runes (Helps your last hitting and making Tiger hit more) Quints -> 9 Flat Ad Runes (Helps your last hitting and making Tiger hit more)

Udyr's strength is also is greatest weakness in lane. Every decision you make has a negative to it when laning with him early so you have to be careful, and know how to play vrs your opponent. Udyrs mana pool is extremely low for most of the game and you need to be able to make decisions since everything you do does hurt/help you. A) Do you harass with tiger, but risk not having enough mana to switch to turtle??? B) Do you sit in turtle and consentrate on last hitting and getting your mana up, but let the enemy laner get free last hits??? C) Do you let ur mana be low, or do you auto hit and push the lane to get mana back??? D) Do you push the lane with Phoenix and Harass, but risk being ganked??? E) Do you use bear to stun, but waist your limited mana. 1st of all all these things will happen while your laning and you need to decide when it is best to do 1 of them. When laning you generally need too make an assesment of what you are laning agaisnt and go from there. Is your oponnent squishy, but lots of burst??? Is he a fotm buriser?? or even a sustained laner such as urself??

Ill be updating this as I go. most match ups are even/win though, I'll just be explaining what to do to win. EASY LANES - These lanes are pretty straight forward. Just harass with q when every they try to take a last hit. Keep a ward down and keep them away from the creeps. [imgsmall=champ/akali.png] Trade hits when she trys to harass, She won't win. Take bear lvl 2 [img=champ/chogath.png] Just make sure you dodge his Rupture and his harass won't even be noticable. Take bear lvl 2 [img=champ/gangplank.png] Stay in turtle until he tries to auto a creep and hit him. Very easy lane. Take bear also until 11. [img=champ/garen.png] Annoying lane but still easy. Preload tiger when he tries to silence and win trade. Take bear lvl 2 [img=champ/jarvaniv.png] Can't win trades with you. Just concentrate on last hitting and q whne you can. Take bear lvl 11 [img=champ/leesin.png] Can't win trades with you. Just concentrate on last hitting and q whne you can. Take bear lvl 11 [img=champ/nasus.png] He can't win trades with you. Just concentrate on last hitting and q when you can. Be careful for his wither Since it makes it really to gank you. Take bear lvl 2 and Mercury threads over ninja tabi [img=champ/tryndamere.png] He can't win trades with you. Just concentrate on last hitting and q whne you can. Take bear lvl 2

Your early and by far the most important phase of the game. At champ select make sure you let your team know that you would like solo top and see if your team will allow it.(plz don't try this in ranked till you are good at it). Once the game starts buy your starting items and get your Tiger (There's a bug where your 1st tiger proc will last till u hit something or use another skill) Once laning actually starts you want decide if you are going for a lvl 1 kill(explained in tips/tricks section). When the enemy goes for a last hit try and scare him off by running at him, But don't hit tiger unless your sure u can hit. Always make sure you have 1 or 2 wards watching the entrances and just farm/harass for as long as needed. Once you hit 5 and your lane opponent doesn't have a stun, the turret doesn't matter anymore. Push the creeps to there turret (WARD THE RIVER) and load up a tiger hitting the turret. When they come to hit you hit them with tiger (again if its off cooldown) and back off in turtle to soak up turret damage. Lifesteal your hp back up and repeat.

Your mid game is the same as early game but by this time you have a few points into Tiger and a point in bear. Around this time I like to play extremely aggressive against my lane opponent and push the lane hard under turret (keep warding). Once the creeps are at the turret you are going to start harassing him under the the turret (Explained in tips and tricks sections). If your opponent can't be harassed out continue farming your lane and watching the other lanes as, around these levels you should be looking for invading there jungle and helping with dragon.

Once late game hits you have 3 jobs; Baron, Split pushing, and Team fights BARON: Udyr is very powerful at killing baron no matter which build he went. All 3 builds are able 2 man baron with the jungler at 15mins (if u have at least wriggles or malady) Always keep this objective warded and look for times to quickly sneak it. SPLIT PUSHING: Personally I prefer to do this If I went the Bruiser or carry Item paths. Carry at least 3-4 wards and ward all entrances they can take to get to u and push the lane backing off if more then 1 come to gank. if its just 1 and you co u can 1v1 them go ahead and keep pushing. if its 2 or 3 coming too stop u bait them and teleport to a diff lane to continue pushing. TEAM FIGHTS: Once team fights happen Udyr has 2 jobs that he can choose to do. Depending on your build, you have different options in team fights. ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO STUN THE MALZ/KAT/NUNU/ETC WHEN THERE ULTING 1. (Bruiser/Tank) Your 1st option is to be a babysitter during the fight. In sense you sit by the carry blow up the bruiser/tank/assassin that try's to jump on your carry. Just peel with tiger/bear/Phoenix and make sure you don't stick on that person if they run away, just switch to next target atking your carry. 2. (Bruiser/Carry) You can play an assassin/bruiser role. Go around behind and wait for your tank to iniate. Then run in from the side/behind and tiger/bear/phoenix/tiger there carry/support and blow him up fast.if they flash away just switch targets unless your 100percent sure you can kill him with a flash/tiger so your not wasting time chasing that Nidalee. 3. (Bruiser/Tank) You can play the Initiation role. You are the 1st one in and the last one out. Your job is too look extremely scary and force them to focus u and blowing there cc nukes on you. Make sure your team is ready and in position before you go in. Remember Don't stick to 1 thing. If your the initiator don't forget to protect your carry, or if your going for the kill and your carry is diing, turn around and protect yours. Sometimes its better to focus Cho and keep him off your Ashe then rushing down there Vayne.

Lvl 1 tiger-> Start the game with tiger and boots. In the fountain go into tiger stance so u have your proc. Some reason the 1st time you hit tiger the proc lasts until you use a skill or auto hit something. So in lvl 1 fight or laning you are ready to burst some1 for 300+ dmg :D How to get 2 Tiger procs in less then a sec -> Hit Q (the proc lasts 4 secs, hit another skill (don't have to), Run at target, and Hit Q immediatly. Boom 2 tiger procs instantly on a target :D Baiting with low hp -> During laning phase its really easy to bait people into thinking they can kill you thx to tiger/turtle :D. Say your 200hp and they are at 1000 (you guys are evenly fed). He starts to chase after you to pick up the easy kill, Run into a bush and load up ur tiger with a bear stun. Immediatly turtle exhaust(If you have it). Do not switch outa turtle till ur turtle is off cooldown, then hit q and turtle again immediatly. Rinse and repeat with bear stuns in between (remember 6sec cd on single target) 1v2ing the solo lane and jungle ganker(if there is only 1 disable) -> You need to be full hp/mana too pull this off, but pretty much its the same thing as the baiting with low hp except ur not going to use bear this time, since you don't have unlimited mana. You go after the squishiest 1 (factor in lifesteal and summoners) and atk him with tiger, then kite around with turtle, then turn around hit with tiger again, repeat. Once 1 is dead u can judge urself if you are able to 1v1 the other. Generally just auto in turtle stance if ur low hp and mana, most of the time u should be fine. Tower diving in Laning Phase -> Once your around 7 or so you can start tower diving and harassing with out taking much dmg. auto push the creeps to the turret. Once under the turret use Tiger on the turret. this will not use to proc and will make u atk the turret faster. Once he comes to harass you just hit bear then hit him and retreat. Repeat process till he goes back or you get a kill.
