[title]Who am I?[/title] Well, hello there! Welcome to my Nidalee Support guide, fresh into Season 3. This is my first ever guide, and was written at 3:00AM, so it may not be top-notch, but fear not! I won't lie to you - I'm far from a pro. But I like to think of myself as a somewhat decent player, and it can't hurt to share my opinion on a fun champion like Nidalee. [center][highlight]Support Nidalee?[/highlight] Yes, support nidalee![/center] Nidalee used to be a very beloved support, due to her heal/AS steroid being immensely overpowered. However, as expected, her "supporty" heal was nerfed to death. It's still great, though! Don't be discouraged. What makes nidalee such an amazing support, especially in Season 3? [highlight]Pros[/highlight] [.]High mobility (Passive + Leaps + Cougar form MS) [.]Insane harassment (One of the best AA animations in the game) [.]Still a heal / AS steroid [.]Beefy after level 6 [.]Amazing Anti-Zoning (traps) [.]Can take away 1/2 of carry's hp with one spear. [.]French Maid skin. [highlight]Cons[/highlight] [.]Item (Read : AP) dependant [.]Squishy pre-6 [.]Skillshot reliant to be effective in lane and teamfights [.]Easily steals kills with Takedown (Cougar Q) [.]Not exceptionally good in the current tanky meta [.]Stupid /Dance (Poledancing is vulgar ;3).

[imgext=] My standard support runes - Armor and Magic resist to make you tank the auto attack trades efficiently (Milk that pickpocket!), Gold per 10 for that extra bit of cash. [highlight]Yellows[/highlight] Usually you'll go with armor (90% of the time), or Mana/5 for more spears early (Not very likely, you'll get an early Philostone+Chalice anyway). [highlight]Reds[/highlight] Magic Penetration to make you deal more damage throughout the game. [highlight]Blues[/highlight] Ability Power per level to make you more of an AP mage mid-lategame. [highlight]Quintessences[/highlight] Ability Power could work for more early game dominance. Not advisable, but when going for super killane (Ergo you're with an MF / Tristana), go for it. Also makes your heal quite reliable. A "Balls to the wall" page would look like this: [imgext=]

[title][img=skills/nidalee/p.png] Passive: Prowl[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] A very good passive. This lets you be a force to be reckoned with in lane, and the jungle. Nobody beats 400+ MS with just rank 1 boots. Getting a Lich Bane will get you a whopping 480-ish MS in cougarform. Also useful in laning phase, you're fast enough to autoattack and go out of range again. [title][img=skills/nidalee/q.png] Q: Javelin Toss / Takedown[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] SPEARS ARE STRONK. Everybody's been sniped by those guys. Important to remember : They increase in damage based on range. If you're going for a snipe or poke, Change into cougar and leap backwards for more dmgz. The takedown is a very nice execution move that will land you kills more often than you'd like on support nid. Be careful with it, as mainly in soloqueue your carry will NOT appreciate this. When going Standard Support, you max this last. The utility the other spells provide outclass the minor damage of the earlier levels. When playing AP style, you'll generally spend two or maybe a third point in here earlier on, depending on how agressive in lane you are and how many spears you're hitting. [title][img=skills/nidalee/w.png] W: Bushwhack / Pounce[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] The traps are amazing. The damage is noticable with a bit of AP, the 12 second reveal is idiotic, and often overlooked ; the resistance shred! These babies make your enemies stay out of brush in laning phase, giving your carry some breathing room to Cs, and if it does come to a fight they'll have a massive disadvantage. The Pounce gives immense mobiliy - This allows you to have no boots up to 15 minutes, if needed. Use this whenever it's up if you're travelling. (Also good to keep Rageblade stacks up, if you feel like building that). [highlight]Important![/highlight] This skill is unlike other dashes - it will go in the direction Nidalee is currently facing, and NOT in your cursor's direction. Be careful with this, as it can mess up wall jumps / disengages and so forth. Max this second when going Standard support or last when going AP build. For Standard support the extra mapcontrol it provides is very well used, and the AP style doesn't go for the same damage anyway. [highlight]Important![/highlight] When playing against another Bushcamper (Mainly Blitzcrank, Leona and also to some extent Taric), level this up first. You can still take 2 or 3 points in Primal Surge (E) first, but go for this afterwards. Why? Being a bushcamper, they generally step into your traps willingly to make sure they can surprise your carry. By leveling this up first, you're punishing them very hard for those actions, and with the reduced cooldown you ensure farm safety for your carry! [title][img=skills/nidalee/e.png] E: Primal Surge / Swipe[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Your Bloodboil that heals. It's scaling is far from bad, so your early AP will be noticable. The steroid is what makes you amazing with carries like [imgsmall=champ/vayne.png] and [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png]. The swipe, which has a deceptively large radius, will do an unexpected amount of MAGICAL damage, so you may catch a Taric offguard and eat his hp with that pesky armor. You max this first in both scenarios. Not only does the heal become significant (Already outclassing soraka's non-ultimate heal) with just a Kage's pick, the Attack Speed buff increases as well making your carry an exceptionally scary person during trades. [title][img=skills/nidalee/r.png] R: Aspect Of The Cougar[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Gives you your kitty form. [highlight]Important![/highlight] Your catform abilities don't get stronger when you level Q, W and E. Only through levels 6, 11 and 16 will they increase in strenght.

[center][highlight]With you :[/highlight][/center] To work efficiently in lane, you need 2 things from your carry : - They have some kind of CC, where you can reason that a stun/supress > slow > others. (Mandatory). - They have a gapcloser / repositioning spell. You will need to surprise them because of your lack of cc. - Favorites are [img=champ/vayne.png], [img=champ/tristana.png] and [img=champ/kogmaw.png] For this guide, the carries I consider viable are : [img=champ/ashe.png], [img=champ/caitlyn.png], [img=champ/draven.png], [img=champ/kogmaw.png], [img=champ/missfortune.png], [img=champ/tristana.png], [img=champ/vayne.png], [img=champ/varus.png], [img=champ/twitch.png] The favorites are all getting their own breakdown, but for the others, the rules posted above work. When going with the stronger CC's (Mainly Ashe and to some point Varus / Miss Fortune), try and play a bit more agressive. Draven Does It All, just kill them everytime you have the chance (On a serious note, his Blood Rush and your Primal Surge synchronize like peanutbutter and jelly. Abuse your laning phase, and destroy them before he gets outscaled!) [highlight]Silly Sneaker! Why don't you mention Corki/Graves/Ezreal?![/highlight] Very simple. [img=champ/corki.png] basically does what Nidalee does, already - Long range poke with R (Nidalee spears), checking bushes with Q (Nidalee traps), AoE clearing with E (Nidalee Claw in cougar form). He also completely lacks CC, which is deadly for a Nidalee lane, and can't keep up with a fairly passive playstyle pre-6. When you have a Corki in your team, don't pick Nidalee support. On a side note, corki's been nerfed so hard and with the new HP stacking meta I don't even consider him viable anymore. [img=champ/ezreal.png] has a lot of things in common with Corki. His Q checks brushes easily, and pokes middle-long range (Nidalee Traps and Spears already take care of that), also lacks cc (aside from the W, which nobody scales or hits nowadays), and doesn't have enough pure AD damage to keep the enemies on their toes. Some early MR destroys this lane completely, and Ezreal just can't take that. [img=champ/graves.png] "but whatabout Graves? He has a slow (Smokescreen), a gapcloser, and also supah high burst dmg he so gud!". Well, Graves may have a slow - it's terrible. The travelling speed of the can is horrible, and easy to dodge. The slow doesn't persist after leaving the area, and it's got a small radius. It just spells out UNRELIABLE. Furthermore, he's got 0 poke, unless you count his Q which is gonna push the lane harder than a darius spamming Decimate. It just doesn't work. Oh, and his Quickdraw (Dashiething) is pretty much useless because of the AS steroid. Nidalee already has a better one, so shoo with you and your shotgun. [highlight][center]Favorites[/center][/highlight] Notice something about my favorites? [img=champ/vayne.png], [img=champ/tristana.png] and [img=champ/kogmaw.png]. They're all lategame superscaling, pentakilling HYPERCARRIES. There's a really simple reason for that - Nidalee scales incredibly well. If you can manage to reach up into the lategame, you'll have a hypercarry and 2 AP carries. No way you're gonna lose that game, if you're any good. Let's take a little more specific look at those lovely champions. [img=champ/vayne.png] My personal stunmachine! The thing that makes Vayne great is made up from 2 points. 1- Her Silver Bolts works exceptionally well with your AS increase. She'll proc that true damage like a madman, ain't nobody got no HP for that! The only issue is, that this matchup will give you a terrible laning phase. Vayne is (as well all know) horrible in lane, and Nidalee is somewhat agressive. You compensate for this with your traps to provide some protection for her, but it's not a lot you can do. Just wait it out, throw down spears and rush those Gp10's. 2- She has the best CC of any non-ultimate carry. Her Condemn can easily catch a player offguard, and if she hits the stun it's basically a free kill for you. Make sure she abuses this against easier lanes (e.g [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png], [imgsmall=champ/draven.png]) and you may even get out even or ahead. And that's when you start scaling! Let's move to [img=champ/tristana.png]. - Great mobility with Rocket Jump. - Insane killing potential. - Powerful slow. - Arguably best lategame carry. When playing with Tristana, you gotta make a choice. Are you going for a kill-lane? Or will you prefer to farm up and wait. If you go for a kill early on, skip the Kage's. Move straight into [imgsmall=items/chalice-of-harmony.png] + [imgsmall=items/fiendish-codex.png] and level up your Q after you have 3 points in E. You should have more than enough damage to burst out nearly anyone (Not counting an Alistar with Unbreakable Will up), and with the lowered cooldowns you should get those spearpressures up a lot. [highlight]Important![/highlight] When going for this kill-style, pick up enough wards. You need your boots less than usual (Exhaust + Rocket jump, your enemies ain't going nowhere!). When going this agressive, you WILL attract any decent jungler's attention. Make sure it doesn't get turned into a 3v2, as you have no means of protecting Trist when you get ganked. Last but not least: [img=champ/kogmaw.png]! Mister Vomit is a great companion for any kitty in love. He has a powerful, yet hard to hit slow, farms incredibly easy, snowballs out of control and has the range to be safe. More importantly though - He's a sucker for Attack Speed. Why do you think NunuKogmaw is such a beloved combination? The attack speed steroid! When playing this matchup, you can completely neglect traps and spears, just get those heals out on him. He'll do the bushchecking with his Living Artillery, and as long as you keep things spicy with autoattacks your enemies have got nothing on you. Be careful with this matchup, though. It's not likely you're getting kills early on, (Unless you have a nice guy in the midlane/jungle and you get ahead early, ofcourse) as Koggie lacks a decent gapcloser and has no form of escape if the engage turns against you. This is by far the most rewarding matchup to play, but it's also the hardest. Challenge Accepted!

As a nidalee player, you'll generally spend your time playing weak or mediocre lanes. Real bullies with killing potential don't belong with you. The logical consequence : You're gonna fight against agressive lanes, or get a farmfest. [center][highlight]Agression![/highlight][/center] [imgsmall=champ/alistar.png] Not seen as often anymore, but still a powerful CC maniac. Being a bushcamper, you'll either want to make sure you're trapping CONSTANTLY (Consider a Chalice if you're in mana issues), or you'll get some spare wards. Alistar's killing potential is just too much for you to handle. [imgsmall=champ/blitzcrank.png] Bitchcrank won't be troublesome for you. Either staying at long range, safely away from his hooks, or in the brush with your extra mobility, the robot won't be your main issue here. If you DO get grabbed, it's game over though. With the recent nerf changing into Cougarform won't give you extra tank stats anymore, so just stay in human and heal asap if you find yourself getting fisted. [imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png] Caitlyn is annoying. Her long range harassment is difficult to heal upto, and make sure your carry knows your heal costs mana and has a cooldown (Yell at him if he keeps taking the peacemakers to the face). Caitlyn only gets really dangerous when paired with additional hard cc though, if that's the case opt for bushcontrol and pray your jungler will gank for you. [imgsmall=champ/leona.png] Leona is similair to Alistar, with the exception of her lack of displacement abilities. She's seen quite often recently, with a good reason. Especially post-6 her stunlock will be too much for you to handle. Be cautious. [imgsmall=champ/nami.png] Nami is just "one of those" champions that can completely go either way. If you're not a total retard walking into the bubble (OOH SHINY) you should be o.k, as her heal/dps isn't that noteworthy and her ultimate is too slow for you. Your carry may not like her as much though. Make sure you poke at her often, losing her damage is a nice perk when she's forced to heal often. [imgsmall=champ/sona.png] Sona is beyong broken. Her autoattacks with Power Chord are insane, and she'll be able to trade with you evenly if you don't hit spears. Abuse the fact that she'll push the lane, and make sure you position yourself behind her post-6, we can't see nidalee dancing.. [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] Taric can go either way, and hence is listed in both passive and agressive. His stun relies on surprise-effects, so your traps should keep him at bay. As mentioned before, if you see he's eating them on purpose so he can surprise your carry, just put a second or even third point in it early, skipping the heal or spear for now. It'll make him regret taking bushes for granted. [imgsmall=champ/tristana.png] Tristana is not overwhelmingly difficult to lane against, but certainly noteworthy on the agressive side. Paired up with someone like Thresh or Zyra (Snaring are her friends) her Rocket Jump will do annoying amounts of damage. To deal with her long range, prevent her from freely moving about with your spears. You'll need a gank or kill on her though, so make sure your carry knows that passive farming won't win you the lane. [imgsmall=champ/zyra.png] Zyra is a strange support. Because of her root, you'll die if she catches you. Easy as that. Luckily, bushwacks counter plants right? An uncovered bush is lethal here. The high travel speed on her snare is too dangerous to ignore, so make sure you're on your toes and warding properly in this lane. [imgsmall=champ/thresh.png] I don't know what to think of thresh. In my eyes he's a fairly solid pick with a bit of cc, but his weakness lies in his mobility and passive soul gathering. It's always funny to put a bushwack on a loose soul, making him choose between losing a stack and losing health. Be wary of his chains, the initial swining animation should be enough for you to guess the direction it's heading and generally you can hop out in time. If you do get caught, don't panic and jump away to his sides, that way his knockback won't be useful. Don't try to kill him unless you land something like Condemn on him, the lantern will make your life miserable. [center][highlight]Passive![/highlight][/center] Ofcourse there's also passive lanes ; [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png] Ashe is just...Ashe. She's the rightclickonly carry that you don't have to fear. Her hawkshot does nothing but make your dragon sneaks slightly harder, and even when paired with a heavy burst/cc champ (like Leona) you won't be threatened by her. As a result, you'll just have to make this a farmlane. Keep up the spearpoke, and make sure you don't try anything stupid. Once she has her ult, she becomes fairly potent in terms of kills. [imgsmall=champ/corki.png] Corki just has nothing on you, really. He can check bushes (Which you won't be in anyway), he has short ranged Gattling Gun (You won't be in range), he's got long range poke (which you'll dodge / minionblock) and his Valkyrie has a ridiculous cooldown that'll leave him vulnerable to anything you throw at him. [imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png] Ezreal just plays the poke game, keep your minions between you and try not to mind the blonde fabulous explorer too much. Just battle it out with the support and let your carry decide about things. [imgsmall=champ/graves.png] Graves is tricky when paired with high cc champions, but because of his short ranged burst you shouldn't have too much trouble vending him off. A nice thing to note is that when he smokescreens you, even revealed targets will be invisible. Then again, you just jump out in his direction and end up killing him anyway. [imgsmall=champ/janna.png] Janna is heavily underplayed, but still strong. Try to find a window where her shield is off cooldown (For example by throwing a spear at her) and try to jump in for a quick burst and disengage. She shines at extended engages, so try to be swift when playing against her. [img=champ/karma.png] Loljk nobody plays karma. [imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png] Kill him everytime he tries anything. His long range poke is annoying but easily dodged (if you pay attention that is), make sure to keep your carry healthy as he DOES deal a ton of damage if he gets the chance and try to get your jungler to give you a gank. [imgsmall=champ/lulu.png] Lulu pokes. Lulu pokes a lot. Lulu pokes a lot with glitterlance. Just spear that little fairy, she can shield and run but that leaves her carry open for aa's. It's good to note that while her shield is on cooldown you're free to harass her as if statutory rape was your middle name ; hit her hard, hit her often. [imgsmall=champ/nunu.png] Nunu recently got quite a hefty nerf, but he's still strong because of the meta. The iceball is a direct counter to your heal, except for the fact that his is like a snowball and yours a bullet (No travelspeed while your heal is instant). Also he needs to sustain by eating minions, which is a perfect oppertunity to spear him or even cougar and swipe while he's enjoying a snack. [imgsmall=champ/nidalee.png] Quit playing Blind pick. 2 SHENS OMG. [imgsmall=champ/sivir.png] Sivir is not vaible, punish her for picking it. You should be careful about hte spellshield though, make her use it by dropping bushwacks on her chilling spots so you're free to spear her. That being said, it's gonna be a bit hard for you to damage her with your spears so consider spending a bit more points in your heal rather than damage, and make it a passive lane. [imgsmall=champ/soraka.png] Soraka doesn't like magic damage (Since her heal only gives armor) so make use of it. The silence is annoying and she's a living mana battery so sustain will be an issue, but just focus on hitting her a few times and while heal is on cooldown go manmode on their carry. [imgsmall=champ/taric.png] As noted in the "Agressive" part ; Taric is too versatile to really discuss here. Try to see if he's into playing agressive or not, and switch up your playstyle accordingly. [imgsmall=champ/varus.png] Varus just has a fairly troublesome poke with his Q, but he's not last hitting while he charges it. Make sure you go in Cougar form as he tries to hit you, so you'll jump aside, take no damage, make him miss cs and spend mana! He should catch onto the "kk let's just farm" idea quickly, which is when your awesome jungler comes along and kills the guy. [imgsmall=champ/twitch.png] Twitch is bad, get a vision ward for the center of the lane, heal your carry and just hit a lot of spears on his face. If you're a hobo without gp/10 runes and vision wards are too expensive, just level your bushwack a bit, buy mana pots and place em all around the map so he won't get his Ambush to be of any effect. [highlight]EDIT[/highlight] Twitch is actually pretty viable right now. Thing is, he doesn't like Nidalee at all. Cats eat rats! Use your hightened mobility to dodge his Vials (It's REALLY important to camp bushes for this, as boots are not your main priority).

[highlight]PICKPOCKET[/highlight] This mastery will determine most of your laning phase. You'll be looking to land an auto attack from the brush, then retreat whenever needed. Keep an eye out for an oppertunity to toss a Javelin - Ideally you'll get them very low, or force them to back. The kill potential pre-6 isn't amazing, anyway. Always keep the brush trapped, so your enemies can't zone your carry out. Also, ofcourse, have proper warding at the river / Tribrush. Once you hit level 6, try to look to get a kill. Get your carry to set up some kind of CC, if possible. Otherwise, bait a fight. Make sure to have heal on your carry for the AS steroid, and abuse your double skill sets. You should also have a Kage + Chalice by now, so your mana regen and spears will be powerful. Use them to your advantage, 50 mana is a small price to pay for 200+ damage. [highlight] Feel free to level your Q for a bit, if you find that your enemies are often hit by your spears. It significantly increases the damage done.[/highlight]

The midgame is all about roaming, towers, and Dragon. Always carry a [imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png]on you. When your team wants to go for Dragon, you can put it down and prevent it from being stolen. With your superb Attack Speed steroid, taking the tower after a big play shouldn't be hard for Nidalee. When you hit around level 10, ask your jungler and mid for a strong gank, burst down your lane, get the tower and go for that drake! Afterwards, you'll have to see what your carry is doing. If you're organized (DuoQ with the carry, or better yet 5 premade) you'll know what the plan will be. Mostly you'll have to make sure the lane stays pushed to around their fallen Outer Turret. Make sure that when your carry goes to push, you ward up the tribrush on their side AND the river. You don't want him getting caught out. Also, stick to your carry like an Overly Attached Mundo. The laning phase may be over, but potentially 2v1'ing their carry would be ideal. Also, you need to soak up that XP. While you're not on botlane farming up, try to assist other lanes. Right about now should be the point where teamfights break out, so don't be afraid to roam around a little, dropping wards and assisting your mid or top while they're farming. Try to always have at least one [imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png], now. A good trap requires vision, and it's the ideal start of teamfight if you can jump their AP or AD carry.

Late game is where you shine the most. Your carry should be well farmed, and you should have quite a bit of Hp. Instead of Dragon, you should now make sure Baron is always warded! The exact point differs, but when you've entered lategame, both teams will generally be able to take the Baron Nashor down relatively easily. If you don't have wards to spare for Drake and Baron, ward baron and get a trap at the entrance of Drake Den. That way, all melee champs that want to attack the Dragon will be spotted for a few seconds - Enough for you to make a break for a tower! As teamfights generally involve all ultimates right now, it's more important than ever to help your carry. As Nidalee, it's not your job anymore to exhaust the enemy ADC (Unless they're majorly caught or out of position), try to save it for the bruiser that's going for yours.

Teamfights aren't Nidalee's strongest point. With the new season, Riot seemed to develop a fetish for "Actives" on items - so make sure you use them on the right targets and at the right time. In general, during the teamfight, you'll look to keep all of your human form spells off cooldown. Heals on the carry for the AS buff, spears at the teamfight itself (Don't try to snipe people. You'll probably miss them, and tanks can die too) and trap escape ways / in the middle for the resitance shredding. When the teamfight is over, you can either change into cougar form to finish off those strugglers OR chase their tail-between-legs carries, OR make a break for it and run for your life in case you all got blown up by Amumu's ult. As for positioning, you'll always want to make sure you are in range of your ADC. The ideal position would be behind a wall, in range of your ADC. This would make you immune to damage, still get your heals off and you can snipe people with spears all you want. As always, practice makes perfect, and most of what to do at what time comes through experience. Don't give up hope when you mess up, there's always that baron to get you back into the game! EDIT : Now with the upcoming (Or recent, w/e) nerfs on Nid's cougar form, you're forced more than ever to stay outta the fight. Just lay back, try to keep people alive and throw down your spears. Also, since her Swipe ratios got buffed a bit, don't be tempted to go into cougar form and E everyone. I know doing a little bit of damage sounds attractive, but pooping out 300 damage and then a certain death isn't as good of an idea. Spears are the way to go!

You have one major choice when it comes to item builds. Are you going for [highlight]OMG SPEARS OP [/highlight] mage build, or for the classic support style? I personally prefer the mage build, making you a second AP carry and still warding for your team (Thank riot, on your knees, for [itemsmall=ruby-sightstone]). The impact that item has on the game, is idiotic. It gives supports the oppertunity to actually create items. It was desperately needed, and thankfully riot answered our prayers. EDIT : The sightstone has recently been nerfed quite a bit (By making it build outta a Ruby crystal instead of nothing), increasing both it's cost and it's effectiveness. However, it's a bit of a drag to have only 2 wards availible once the laningphase ends, and as nidalee you can't just rush the [itemsmall=ruby-sightstone], as you DO need the AP (Taking poor base values into account). It depends on a lot of things, like how effective your bushwacks are placed, the amount of wards your temamates are buying and how bursty your enemy lane is (Hp makes you survive, duh), but I find myself only getting this item in ~40% of my support games rather than the previous 99%. [title][center]Mage Build[/center][/title] The mage build is revolting around you doing the pokey stuff for your team. You can't really go wrong with items, as long as they provide two things : -Some kind of survivability -Ability Power. The reason for this, is that you WILL be in the fray as a cougar. Getting blown up instantly won't help your team. You need the AP, simply because you scale like a madman and landing ~900 damage Javelins as a support is FUN. The starting items are fairly standard - One or both parts of philostone (Depending on their amount of harass ; e.g against sona I usually buy both parts), added up with wards and pots. On your first back you'll want at least philostone + wards, ideally also an Amplifying Tome (To go with Kage's pick). Follow up with (Situational) Chalice of Harmony, and then move along to the items listed above and below. There's no real telling which items to get, all of them are good and it's up to your judgement to find out what you like best. It's dificult to give a proper order since all games are different and where you may need damage in game 1 you might need survivability in game 2. [imgsmall=items/sorcerers-shoes.png] whenever you feel like it, the inital boots are not the most needed things in the world (as you can see even pros picking up rank1 boots on first back, and not upgrading till ~15 minutes into the game). Following these rules, you can figure out a golden way. The items I usually end up buying are listed above, though feel free to experiment with [.]anything built out of[imgsmall=items/sheen.png] (Just not Triforce) [.][imgsmall=items/void-staff.png] Blow them up harder with your spears. [.][imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png] Revive after getting caught, or make sure you don't get focussed. [.][imgsmall=items/will-of-the-ancients.png] (Only with 2 out of 3 AP's (Top, Mid, Jungle)) [.][imgsmall=items/mikaels-crucible.png] (In case they have idiot amounts of CC and your carry doesn't have cleanse, or terrible positioning) [.][imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] is NEVER a bad item. If you need some extra MS to catch those buggers off-guard. [.][imgsmall=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] Rylai's offers you a neat amount of health, ap, and more importantly : A slow! Hallelujah. The only downfall of the item is the lack of useful parts for nid ; You'll end up buying straight ap or health that's not gonna be very useful. As such, try to get this item if you either have a heap of gold left or you're through your other options at that point (Get it before Void staff or Deathcap, anyway). [highlight]IMPORTANT[/highlight] When not building a Shurelya's, don't just sell your Philo stone. There's a neat little trick - Upgrading it into [imgsmall=items/eleisas-miracle.png] before selling it nets you a total of 20 gold! Sweet! (I know it's not much, but hey, it's half a health pot. Free gold isn't gonna kill you). EDIT : In the next patch, Ohmwrecker will be built outta Philostone. This item isn't worth buying. As Nidalee, your towerdiving potential is minimal because of your 0 cc, and the rest of the item is not worth the cost. Final build: [item=sorcerers-shoes][item=rylais-crystal-scepter] / [item=liandrys-torment][item=ruby-sightstone][item=lich-bane]OR[item=frozen-fist][item=twin-shadows] / [item=rabadons-deathcap]

True Support This build focusses on being a more traditional support, as seen in Season 2. You'll still go for the Gp10's, but from then on you'll look to finish [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png]. A Shurelya's isn't the only way you can go - if you already have any form of MS boost (A Nunu, Jayce, Nami) or a strong slow (Orianna, Karthus, Anivia), you won't need this. EDIT : With the nerfs to Cougar form, this build has dramatically lost popularity and utility. With the sightstones becoming more expensive too, it's basically not a very good idea to run this way. However if your entire team is damage / assassin based, you should go for this to provide some aura tankiness and utility. [highlight]IMPORTANT[/highlight] When not building a Shurelya's, don't just sell your Philo stone. It will take the weight off your back when it comes to warding, and it stays viable throughout the entire game. The ruby sighstone is - as previously mentioned - quite situational right now. You'll just have to see how well your teammates are warding and how long the laningphase lasts. If it's over quickly, it might be wise to buy the sightstone anyway. If it lasts long, you won't need a lot of wards anyway, just focus on the gp'10s and your other items. Another downside is that a stack of 5 gives you more effective map control than the stack of 3 the Ruby stone offers, but the scenarios where you'll actually need all 5 at once, by one person, is too limited to make a real difference. You can always yell at your teammates to buy more wards, if it's really neccecary. The boots are straightforward - Since you're not focussing on doing damage, there's no reason to get [imgsmall=items/sorcerers-shoes.png]. Just go for [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png], or [imgsmall=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png] if you desperately need that extra CDR [highlight] NOT a bad choice, since you're dealing with long cooldowns on your heal, but when you really need CDR that badly a Frozen Heart is more beneficial to the team.[/highlight] Later on in the game you'll upgrade your Aegis to become a [imgsmall=items/runic-bulwark.png]. [imgsmall=items/mikaels-crucible.png] is still an excellent item to protect your carries, or pop out that last second surprise heal that keeps your rambo jax alive. Finish up with building your Kage's into the [imgsmall=items/shard-of-true-ice.png] Final Build : [item=mercurys-treads][item=ruby-sightstone][item=runic-bulwark][item=mikaels-crucible][item=randuins-omen]OR[item=locket-of-the-iron-solari] [item=frozen-fist] - OR [img=items/shard-of-true-ice.png]

My sincere apologies for the horrible pun on What Not To Wear, it had to be done. Anyway! The items listed below are not for Nidalee, and I'll explain why too. [imgsmall=items/abyssal-scepter.png] No. It's too expensive for it's stats, and with it's nerfs a while ago it just stopped being viable for long range casters like yourself. [imgsmall=items/archangels-staff.png] Even though I'm a fan of the Seraph's, and Nidalee charges stacks like it's nothing, but the thing is that you're not going to invest that much time and money in this item. The laning phase is quite crucial for Nidalee as you need those Gp/10 items ASAP, and getting a Tear first sets you back quite a bit. [img=items/deathfire-grasp.png] You're not going to be bursting anyone down. Even though it's a strong AP item, it's CDR being removed and the fact that you're not gonna fire this baby often makes it a bad buy. [imgsmall=items/dorans-ring.png] I see it working as a starting item, but damn girl you need wards! It's a possible pickup for early invades or anything but just don't do it. [imgsmall=items/guinsoos-rageblade.png] Even though I see potential in this one, it's unlikely you'll use the attack speed. Furthermore, in teamfights you won't be doing any autoattacking and all of your spells have too long of a cooldown to keep your stacks at the desired point. [imgsmall=items/malady.png] Attack speed? D: No, just no. The shred is nice but eveyone already builds into early Mpen (Haunting Guise + sorcs) so you won't be helping anyone. It MIGHT be viable if you have an ADC that deals tons of magic damage (For instance you decide to go with ezreal) and you have AP top and jungler too, you'll help them dish out more. Just don't go for it. [imgsmall=items/mejais-soulstealer.png] If you're rolling over people there's better items to accentuate your victory, and if you're losing you shouldn't even think about it. For shits and giggles though, getting 700+ ap is always funny. [imgsmall=items/moonflair-spellblade.png] GOD NO you're dead if you get caught anyway you won't need no tenacity from this one. [imgsmall=items/morellos-evil-tome.png] I think they're buffing the CDR on this one making it slightly more viable, but let's face it. You won't be using the passive a lot as you're not the executioner, and it's too expensive to get without utilizing it to the maximum potential. [imgsmall=items/nashors-tooth.png] Attack speed on support Nidalee is like AP jungle Vayne. I know it MAY look tempting but just don't do it. [imgsmall=items/ohmwrecker.png] Mentioned before, bad item on a no-cc no-diving champ like Nidalee. [imgsmall=items/rod-of-ages.png] Sets you back too far in lane, and getting it later won't let you get it nice and stacked. On top of that you don't have mana issues since you're going Chalice, and the extra HP is not worth the effort of getting this one. [imgsmall=items/spirit-visage.png] You're not TPA stanley. It's good on AD Nid (Possibly not as good after the incoming nerfs though) but it doesn't provide any AP. It DOES have the highest MR in the game now though (R.I.P. Force of Nature) so if that LB has 13 kills feel free to pick it up anyway. [imgsmall=items/twin-shadows.png] Though the slow DOES come in handy, you won't need it if you're going for the (much better) Rylai's. Traps and wards provide a lot more use for your mapcontrol, and finally the other viable options for you (Mainly WoTA and Shard of True Ice) are infinitely better for your team. [imgsmall=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] You can get this, but only if their armor is out of this world AND you have gold to spare AND you feel like you can single handely carry the game. If you really need a defensive item this is by far the best option - You don't benefit from Warmogs that much, and GA has been hit with the nerfbat a million times through. [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] Yeah...You're not gonna use the shield a lot, the HP doens't help if the enemy team is decent and doesn't focus you down (and if they're bad and they do, your team will just kill them) and the mana is practically wasted on you. No go.

I realize most people dislike playing support - You're not having kills behind your name, so the adrenaline (YEAAAHHH BITCHEZZZ) factor is absent, your teammates probably won't respect your efforts as much and you can't blow people up single handedly...But you do have the ability to change the outcome of the game. Proper map awareness and warding can make you a strong asset to the team, and it doesn't take a LEGENDARY behind your portrait to give a sense of accomplishment. Wether you like supporting or not, I hope you've found this guide useful. For beginners with Nidalee it should offer a clear idea of what our lady is all about, and the veterans...well, they shouldn't need this kind of guide, anyway. I hope you enjoyed my writing, I apologize in advance for any inconsistencies / typing errors. English isn't my main language, and I wrote this guide at 3:00 AM. If you have any suggestions, (constructive!) criticism or remarks, please feel free to send me a Pm or add a comment. If there are any requests for another support to feature, I'd be happy to hear it! ~Sneaker Out.
