Singed, the Mad Chemist Singed is a tank in my opinion. He qualifies to be a tank because he has tank steroids as well as being incredibly disruptive in teamfights, with the option of being able to peel enemies away from his carry. In the current meta, Singed works best solo top, although he can swap to mid lane if your AP carry can’t handle the enemy at mid lane. (Although I don't recommend it, AT ALL) You are Singed. Your entire reason for existence is to troll the enemy so hard that they want to chase you. And you know what they say about chasing Singed. Singed is the best disruptive champion in this game, because of his tankiness and his disruptive spells. [imgext=] He is the bane of all ad range because of his ability to pick them off. Ghost + Insanity Potion makes him almost impossible to chase, and the tenacity from Merc threads and his ultimate makes it very hard to shut him down. He also has the best laugh in the game, and ultimately the reason why I picked up Singed. [highlight]Singed past participle Verb; Burn (something) superficially or lightly: "the fire had singed his eyebrows"; "a smell of singed feathers". Be burned in this way.[/highlight]

[imgext=] I was lucky enough to be allowed to play Singed 5 times in a row, normally I'll be forced to choose another role (which was the case on the 6th game).

[imgext=] Standard rune page for most AD Bruisers topping. This setup strengthens my weak early stages. The extra armor takes more punishment, the MR for the latter stages of the game, and the speed quints are mandatory for Singed players as it provides you with Singed most important stat, movement speed. [imgext=] I only take this if the opponents are doing a Double AP ( Mid and Top). This setup allows me to take magical punishments, and increases my endurance from teamfights or straight up nukes. I take health per levels instead of armor because I do not need armor for AP lanes. The movement speed quints are still mandatory though, regardless of opponent.

[title][img=skills/singed/p.png] Passive: Empowered Bulwark[/title] [number]Increases Singed's health by .25 for each mana point he has.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Reason why catalyst works wonder for Singed. It allows singed to stack mana and still be quite beefy. It is, however, not a reason to build mana items on Singed like Tear of Goddess. [title][img=skills/singed/q.png] Q: Poison Trail[/title] [number]Toggle: Singed lays a poisonous trail which deals 22 / 34 / 46 / 58 / 70 (+30% of ability power) magic damage per second. Cost 13mana per second Range 20[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] [imgext=] What makes Singed, Singed. This is an extremely underestimated ability that allows you to farm, kite and harrass. Although it might not seem like alot of damage, you'll be shocked to realize how fast people die from this booze. It is also one of the many reason why Singed can still remain viable in the current meta game. You can be tanky and all, but if you don't have any damage output you don't really have an impact. This, my friend, is Singed's damage output. Ultimately, this is the bread and butter of Singed. [title][img=skills/singed/w.png] W: Mega Adhesive[/title] [number]Singed throws a vial of mega adhesive on the ground causing all enemies who touch it to be slowed by 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 / 75% for 5 seconds. Cooldown 14seconds Cost 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120mana Range 1000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A slow that can be used to catch people out of position. This is one of the factors why people find it impossible to chase Singed. Not only does he have a high movement speed and tenacity, he has a slow as well! The great thing about this spell, is it's many utilities. If you're running from someone, you can slow them. If you're catching someone, you can slow them. It can also be used to protect your carries, placing the slow infront of them allows them to kite the tanks. [title][img=skills/singed/e.png] E: Fling[/title] [number]Singed flings an enemy over his shoulder, dealing 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+100% of ability power) magic damage and slowing the enemy when they land. Cooldown 11.5 seconds Cost 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 / 140 mana Range 125[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] What makes or breaks a good Singed. This spells make you the banes of all carries. Your slow + fling makes it an instant death to the carry. Please do note that this spell is a double-edged sword. I've seen many Singed players flinging a tank and even GALIO into the team, where they should be aiming the carries. [imgext=] Here's an example of a Singed who flang Jarvan out of Brands piller of flames (Demonstrated in Phreak's video of Singed). Had the jarvan been with his team, it could spell death to Singed teammates. [imgext=] An example of Caitlyn being flinged into Nunu's ultimate, something you should always aim for. Use Fling carefully, you might be helping your opponents more than yourself. [title][img=skills/singed/r.png] R: Insanity Potion[/title] [number]Singed drinks a potent brew of chemicals, granting him 10 / 15 / 20% crowd control reduction and 35 / 50 / 65 ability power, armor, magic resistance, movement speed, health regeneration per 5, and mana regeneration per 5 for 25 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds Cost 150 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Singed steroids, literally. This makes Singed permanently high in Marijuana, increasing all his basic stats. It's like a better-free baron buff, with more stats! Using this ultimate makes you extremely tanky, as well as being able to dish out alot of damage. This ability ALSO gives crowd control reduction and movement speed, which makes it great to use while escaping, chasing or just messing around with people. Another underestimated factor of this spell, is his increase in ability power. It makes his poison hurt more, and overtime you'll realize the amount of damage accumulated just from his poison. The Armor and Magic resistance added makes him a real tanky bruiser, probably the most tankiest bruiser in the game. This, combine with the other stats makes Singed the overall bruiser king. "I like to make sexy time! " - Borat [title][imgext=] /Laugh[/title] [number]Singed laughs at his opponents false hopes of catching him. He gains his opponents unwanted attention, and can be used as a free taunt depending on the players ability to mock other players. Cooldown 0seconds Cost free-of-charge [/number] When Singed uses this ability, he is temporary granted power from Jesus to mock the jews. Singed reduces the opponents ability to concentrate during the lane stages, increasing the probability of landing an early kill for Singed. He may also use this ability to taunt enemy junglers to gank him, thus allowing the other lanes to dominate and get early dragons. Singed may only use this if his opponent steals his coins and counts money during the laning stages. [img=items/sapphire-crystal.png][img=items/health-potion2.png] They're so many reasons why I don't take this, but I know some Singed players that do. Singed is one of the worst early laners in the game, any item bought at the start should be used to BOOST his early lane endurance. Some people might argue that an early catalyst works, but how on earth are you going to farm that catalyst in the first place? Singed gets destroyed by so many people at top early, getting an item that has no defensive stats whatsoever is suicide. It's much more advisable to rush an early gp5 over a catalyst, because : 1. Philosopher stone gives you health and mana regen, more gold over time, and allows you to build [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] while enjoying the full benefit of the extra income generated per 10 seconds. 2. An early catalyst no doubts increases your laning stages, but it is VERY risky because it opens yourself to more effective enemy ganks. 3. If the enemy chooses a early lane nightmare (Gangplank, Lee Sin), instant death for you. Ultimately, it is much more advisable for a Singed to rush [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png] over [imgsmall=items/catalyst-the-protector.png]. If you meet farm fest champions (Nasus,Chogath), I still wouldn't recommend sapphire because you DONT NEED THE HEALTH AND SUSTAIN FROM CATALYST, better off to get money from the gp5. [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] vs [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] Mercury Threads provide you with tenacity and magic resistance, while Ninja tabi provides you with more armor and less damage taken. 90% I would take Mercury Threads, as the tenacity works wonders with Singed. Ninja Tabi works very well against melee bruisers and range carries. Overall, it will depend on the circumstances. If you're struggling in the lane against a melee bruiser, or if you their teams main damage output is AD, then get ninja tabi. If their teams filled with Crowd Control ( the Magic resistance comes in handy, but it's more of a compliment to the tenacity.), then get mercury threads. [img=items/boots-of-swiftness.png] I have already emphasize the importances of movement speed with Singed, but why don't I take this boots. I'm not saying boots of swiftness is a bad choice, but given that you can only have 1 boot in your inventory, they're much better options. If you take [imgsmall=items/boots-of-swiftness.png] over [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png], you'll be loosing out on the magic resistance and more importantly the TENACITY. Most of the veteran singed players I know do not even consider boots of swiftness under 1 circumstances. The additional movement speed is fine, but the +1 Ms is an opportunity cost for the magic resistance and tenacity, not a good trade off. If you take [imgsmall=items/boots-of-swiftness.png]over [imgsmall=items/ninja-tabi.png], you'll be exposed to heavy physical damage. You may run around with extra movement speed, but what's the point if you're going to get shut down early? The additional armor and 10% intake damage is just too good to pass down. Under no circumstances should you choose to take this. [img=items/rod-of-ages.png] vs [img=items/banshees-veil.png] After building [imgsmall=items/catalyst-the-protector.png], you'll be given the option of either building ROA or Banshee. Your decision will be, once again, based on the circumstances. If you build ROA, you would be aiming for a bruiser-tanky Singed which dishes out decent damage. 70% of the time I will build ROA, because it's an overall fantastic item on Singed. However, if you believe that your team has ENOUGH damage output and are lacking a tank, then go ahead and build Banshees. I would strongly recommend building ROA though, because a bruiser-tanky Singed is much more effective than just a Beefy Tank. Having too little damage output would also not be beneficial to your team, as your job is too disruptive the carries. Although you might posses the skills to do so, it'll take an even longer time doing so and it might actually risk the possibly of your carries dying before theirs. [item=mercurys-treads][item=rod-of-ages][item=force-of-nature][item=frozen-heart][item=shurelyas-reverie] You should have all these items at the 40th minute mark. Items should be bought in this order: *[highlight] Rushing Frozen Armor or Banshee will depend on the circumstances, I would recommend getting Glacial Shroud and Negatron cloak together for a more well-rounded build. It is entirely up to you if you wish to rush one or the other, but I like to buy parts of each at the same time, then buy them both together. [/highlight] [img=items/boots-of-speed.png] > [img=items/philosophers-stone.png]>[img=items/catalyst-the-protector.png] > [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] or [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] > [img=items/rod-of-ages.png] >[img=items/glacial-shroud.png] > [img=items/negatron-cloak.png] > [img=items/frozen-heart.png]> [img=items/banshees-veil.png] > [img=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] The game should end by now, but if the game drags on and it becomes extremely tight. You have 3 preferable options for your last item to choose from. [highlight][center]Randiuns Omen[/center] [/highlight] [img=items/randuins-omen.png] I take this item as a last build in almost everyone other game, if it drags late of course. At this late stage of the game, the ad range should be most of the damage. Getting armor helps dramatically, and the best part of Randiuns is the slow that comes with it. You may even build [imgsmall=items/wardens-mail.png] before [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png] if you think it's necessary. Randiuns + Frozen Heart is just a headache for physical heroes, and thats what Singed is all about. [center][highlight]Banshees Veil[/highlight][/center] [img=items/banshees-veil.png] If you follow my ROA build, then you'll eventually come up with the option of buying Banshees. Banshee is more effective against an AP team, unlike Randiun which is a counter to AD. Banshee is a must if you meet combo reliant champions ( Veigar, LeBlanc) that can shut you down, because Banshee ALSO BLOCKS 1 SPELL. Banshees are also good as they add more beefyness to your already beefyself. More importantly, Banshee gives Magic Resistance. [highlight][center]Guardian Angel[/center] [/highlight] [img=items/guardian-angel.png] in most games, there will be 2 tanky champions ( sometimes even 3) including yourself. However, if you're the only tanky champion in your team. You will need to get Guardian Angel. This is simply because your teams survival is dependent on your survival. You will be unable to aim their carries, and your priorities should be protecting your carries from the enemy teams. Given that no one is tanky in your team, they should all be carries thus they have no problem cleaning up. The only problem is when they die, because you're a bruiser, you don't exactly have the ability to clean up very well. If you die, then the tank is gone and the carries can focus on you with THEIR TANKS HELP. Getting Guardian Angel allows you to respawn and still stay in the fray. The enemies will be somewhat confused in what to do, because they can't dive you yet as you're still technically alive. Another reason you may want to get this item is the heavy heavy nukes that are extremely reliant on combos. I've been in games where 4 of the opponents when full out and nuke me, then allow their ad range carry to finish off the rest of the team in the 4v5. You might (probably actually) survive the fray, but you're too low on health to help your teammates in the fight. Getting Guardian Angel allows them to waste their ultimates on you, while still remaining somewhat alive ( till you respawn) and continue the teamfight. [highlight][center]Tl;Dr[/center] [/highlight] Omen for AD team Banshee for Combo reliant - AP Team Guardian Angel for WTFBBQ Teams that aim tanks and still lose, or if you want to maintain a good score. [highlight][center]Why not Rylai?[/center] [/highlight] [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] This is probably the question on everyone's mind, why doesn't my singed guide have rylai? Rylai gives an additional slow to your poison, the point of playing Singed is for giving people that false sense of hope of catching you. If you slow them, no one will chase you hence no DAMAGE. I admit though, that rylai is a viable item later on in teamfights, but I still don't take it because: 1. Rylai might give health, but it does not provide any defensive stats. I believe that the money would be better use for other defensive items (Frozen Heart,Force of Nature) because Singed is a BRUISER TANK and not an AP mage. If you'd like to build him AP then fine by me, but this is a tanky bruiser guide. 2. Singed does not need the extra damage provided by rylai, his spells do not scale very well with Rylai(with the exception of fling). 3. You'll be extremely reliant on your ultimate [imgsmall=skills/singed/r.png] to tank. You already have [imgsmall=items/rod-of-ages.png] in your build, assuming that you skip [imgsmall=items/glacial-shroud.png]and [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png] for Rylai. You'll actually be SQUISHY after the effects of your ultimate, and though Rylai might provide health, you'll be shut down in no time. Ultimately, I feel that the money spent on Rylai could be used on other items. If you'd like to include Rylai in your build fine by me, but this is how I play singed.

[img=champ/akali.png] There are 2 types of Akali I know, those who go aggresively immediately upon reaching level 6, and those who go aggresive at the very start. Having MR runes ( as mentioned on runes section) will help you in this lineup, you'll be able to farm and she can't do anything about it. If you're able to dominate the lane early, you can zone out her farming in the latter of the laning stages. Make sure not to get hit by her auto-attack if she Q's you, because that burst hurts. Activate poison if she decides to shroud, because it'll force her to take damage, if not abandoning the shroud itself. Putting your slows in a shroud forces her to BOTH take damage and run away. " Great Success" - Borat [img=champ/ashe.png] Ashe is probably the only carry capable of kiting you around. She's easy to pick off though, because she has no escape skills (other than her Ultimate Arrow, but that's only half a second stun if you used in point blank rage + your tenacity) Just [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png][imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png][imgsmall=skills/singed/w.png][imgsmall=skills/singed/e.png] = Dead Ashe. Start with regrowth pendant if you're laning against an Ashe at top to rush for your early gp5. Both of you need your farm before you can actually hurt one another, so you can play passively. Ashe shouldn't really a problem laning against, but one you get your catalyst start playing aggressively to reduce her farm. [img=champ/brand.png] Get boots and 3 pots for this lineup. Dodge all his spells, you should be fine laning against him. Always make sure your lane is pushed, so brand is limited from roaming. Brand doesn't have high single burst damage compared to other nukers ( Annie, Le Blanc, Veigar), so you should be able to handle him just fine. [img=champ/caitlyn.png] Her range will punish you hard. A caitlyn that decides to top can easily destroy you. 1. She outranges you from anything. 2. If you try to close the gap, she can just slow you with her knockback 3. She can set traps near the minions, thus you're unable to roam around the minions with your poison. Just try to get farm early, and you'll destroy her late. "Her vazhïn hang like sleeve of wizard's robe. " - Borat [img=champ/cassiopeia.png] Boots and 3 pots. Same thing with Brand, try to avoid her pokes and you'll do fine. [img=champ/chogath.png] Farm fest lane. Whoever who pushes more wins the lane. Both of you have a weak early game, and you can't actually kill one or the other. Build regrowth pendant for an early Gp5, and you might even consider getting a [imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png]. Be wary of Chogath silence, because he is still capable of killing you once he reaches level 6 (with the help of his jungler of course) [img=champ/gangplank.png] Parley, ouch. Gangplank is one of those champions that shits on you early. Do not even try to conntest for a fight before level 6, because he will literally swipe your balls off. Play passively till level 6, by then you should both share the same lane dominance until the laning phase ends. Start with Cloths for GP, you'll need to farm near (if not under the tower) most of the time because of GPs OP Parley that hurts like a truck early on. He should be no problem once you're either : 1. Level 9 ( He still hurts, but you'll share lane dominance at this stage). or 2. You have philosopher stone and Ninja Tabi. or 3. Catalyst is completed. Best if you have all 3 by level 9, but having one of them is enough to win the lane. "Even though my anus was broken, I knew the rest of our journey would be great success." - Borat [img=champ/olaf.png] True damage hurts. Olaf is one of those champions that can't be countered by having tons of armor, simply because of his true damage. It's annoying enough to know that Olaf is capable of spamming his true damage on you once in a few seconds, which is literally OP in some sense. Honestly I've never had a problem with a solo top Olaf. Reason is simple, whenever he come closes to damage me I drop [imgsmall=skills/singed/w.png]. Once you've gotten your [imgsmall=items/catalyst-the-protector.png], he shouldn't be a problem in laning anymore. I would recommend boots and 3 pots or regrowth pendant for this lineup. Boots if you want to avoid his gapcloser with ease, regrowth if you're planning to back early for the gp5. Do not take cloth armor for this because his spell does TRUE DAMAGE (it ignores armor, magic resistance) [img=champ/fiora.png] Fiora's one of the few melee carries in our game ( Master Yi, Tryndamere). You can't kill her, but she can't kill you. It's literally a farm fest that works in a her favor, but you'll have the upperhand in teamfights. Start with Regrowth pendant, for a fast gp5. It'll be a passive lane because she needs her farm more than you do, but you both share equal lane dominance early on. [img=champ/fizz.png] Annoying Stitch. His DOT(damage over time) hurts alot early, play passively and you should be fine. Most of the time fizz will be played as a mid-lane counter, but they're times when he's topping. Most of the Fizz I've seen topping are built bruiser style, so don't expect an instant kill from ganks. Start with Boots or [imgsmall=items/null-magic-mantle.png] for this lineup. [img=champ/garen.png] HIS Q versus your Fling. 2 of the most annoying spells in the game, the very bane of carries. Garen has a ridiculous amount of sustain, you can shoot yourself for even attempting to kill him. Once again, it's a farmfest that works well on both of you. Do not let him EVER force you out of the lane, or he'll snowball and spin 2 win infront of your face. You have a choice of starting with boots or cloth. Boots if you feel like running away from his silence and spinning. Cloth if you accept the fact that a sword on your face is inevitable, and focus purely on farming. Both work well, but do not get regrowth for a fast gp5. Not for garen at least because he'll SHIT.ON.YOU unless he's a derp. [img=champ/gragas.png] This drunk bastard will constantly harrass you with his Q. A good gragas player will be able to force you out of lane early. Getting boots is very much advisable, especially if it's a poke champion. Make sure to keep pushing the lane to limit his ability to roam, because he pushes the lane in a split second with his Q. [img=champ/irelia.png] Nerf Irelia. Irelia is one of the few champions that has true damage (vayne,olaf,corki passive), and true damage rapes Singed. Play a passive game with Irelia, you'll need a catalyst for her because an aggressive Irelia is a real pain in the ASS. I would recommend cloth armor and 5 pots for this lineup. [img=champ/jarvaniv.png] Prince Vs Chemist. His Q does "tons of damage" early on, which can literally force you out of the lane. A j4 with doran is the worst, because he can zone you as much as he pleases pre level 6. Do not attempt to fight a j4 before level 6, because he REDUCES your ARMOR and has an incredibly annoying knowback that is very very pain. Play a passive game, and you should be fine. I would recommend cloth armor and 5 pots for this lineup. [img=champ/leesin.png] The Blind Monk VS Covered Mouth man. He has an extremely strong early game that can force you out of the lane ASAP. Once he reaches level 2, one good Q and E combo and you're screwed. I would not recommend even playing Singed against him, because he snowballs so hard from your weak early game. If you're unfortunate to meet him though, then you should start with cloth armor and pray the best. Boots would also be good if you're good in juking. [img=champ/malphite.png] Bane of all Melee Bruisers, too bad you ain't one of them. Malphite is one of those champions that requires good momentum. He counters physical carries hard, but he's quite pathetic when it comes to mages. How you lane against a Malphite is very situational. Most of the time Malphite players will start harrasing at level 3 with their Q, so [imgsmall=items/null-magic-mantle.png] is recommendable. Some Malphites have the tendancy to just farm and ignore you (which is good for you but bad for ALL THE CARRIES FROM BOTH SIDES). Regrowth pendant works great as well, even if the malphite is aggressive. Allows you to get a quick gp5 and better lane sustain. [img=champ/masteryi.png] Push war. He pushes, you pushes. It's really a question of who pushes more. You can start with any build for Master Yi, because all he does his backdoors. [img=champ/mordekaiser.png] Huehuehuehue. He pushes the creep waves at a ridiculous fast pace (not good enough for master yi's standards though), and his hammer is really painful. Both of you have relatively weak early games, you need your catalyst while he needs his gunblades.The attitude of the laning stages will completely change once one of you get your core items. I would recommend starting with a regrowth for a fast gp5, because mordekaiser can't really do much till he has the spellvamp. [img=champ/nasus.png] FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM Nasus only knows Q. [img=champ/nidalee.png] [center][highlight]AP[/highlight][/center] She can push, heal, fight, poke, and burst. It really depends on the Nidalee player himself. You can be like Hotshotgg can get caught 24/7 while taking down a few towers and 60 cs, or you can be like dyrus and burn the house. All up to you. I would recommend regrowth for AP Nidalee. [highlight][center]AD [/center] [/highlight] Completely different mindset. Ad Nidalee is a pusher. Her heal gives her attack speed steriods and her trap gives her map control and awareness. Once she gets level 6, she's even more terrifying than you. Get armor cloth for this setup, do not attempt to harras her whatsoever. Just farm. [img=champ/renekton.png] This oversize crocodile can really destroy you early. Level 1-5 is a living hell with this guy. He can jump on you with his R >W>Q and that really hurts, don't forget it has NO MANA COST. So you'll have to withstand this combo for a good 6 minutes, might even have to back once. Cloth Armor is a must for this lineup, and any other item will literally get shit over. Once you have your philosopher stone and catalyst, the lane should be working in your favor. [img=champ/shyvana.png] SO MUCH MOBILITY. Shyvana's one of those champions that can potentially run away from you. There shouldn't be a problem laning against her, since neither of you can kill each other. Pushing the lane helps, so that Shyvanna can't go down to the your wraiths or their wolves for extra farm ( as demonstrated by M5). [img=champ/riven.png] Even Steven's. Riven can force you out of the lane early, but it shouldn't be a problem once you reach level 4. How you lane against her is based on the riven players playstyle, she may choose to play tanky atmogs or just stack AD. If she goes tanky, go for the usual build. If she stacks AD, rush a frozen heart straight after catalyst ( ignoring [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png] early). [img=champ/rumble.png] Like most bruisers, he can force you out early during the laning stages. Once you reach level 4, shouldn't be a problem. Getting [imgsmall=items/null-magic-mantle.png] helps, along with the MR rune build. Make sure you do not waste any creep kills under the tower, do not be hesistant in pushing as rumble automatically pushes with his Q. Call Ganks on him early, as most rumble players have a tendency to overextend early on. [img=champ/shen.png] SO DAMN OP. He can't kill you, but he is capable of zoning you out of the lane with his Q, and then killing you with his jungler. I would recommend regrowth pendant for this lineup, because you'll need to back immediately for your gp5 to beat Shen's sustain. Be aware if Shen's going to ultimate his teammates, there'll be some yellow glowing circles around him. When he does it, you can fling him and interrupt the spell. "Great success" - Borat. [img=champ/swain.png] Avoid his stun, you win the lane. He has a weak early laning as well, so both of you should be playing passively till you get your core items. Recommended to get boots to avoid his poke, regrowth works as well if you want to rush the early gp5. [img=champ/talon.png] Talon is one of the few physical champions capable of bursting. He is normally played as a counter-mid pick, but he works well at top as well. For Talon, get cloth armor and 5 pots. You'll be unable to do anything if he decides to go aggressively on you. Just farm passively until you get your catalyst, but do NOT LET HIM ROAM. Always push the lane as much as possible without overextending. A roaming Talon is a snowballing Talon, and you can't be a snowballing Talon. Rushing frozen early would be a good on him, especially if he rushes [imgsmall=items/the-brutalizer.png] [img=champ/pantheon.png] " Throw the jews down in the well" - Borat [youtube][/youtube] (For those who don't get the inside joke, this is an indirect reference to 300 when King Leonidas throws the persians into a huge well, and since pantheon looks like King Leonidas.......) Pantheon might hurt early with all his fancy combos and Q's, but playing passively against him reduces his chances of killing you early. He's also one of the many bruisers that can force you out early. Calling for early ganks or just farming under the tower can reduce his effectiveness on you. Get cloth 5 for this setup, because you'lll need the armor to withstand his Q. DO not rush frozen heart for Pantheon though, go for the normal route build. [img=champ/teemo.png] As ridiculous as this seems, Teemo is very hard to lane against. 1. He has a poison passive that actually HURTS quite badly over time 2. If teemo decides to play AP, his Q burst can do "tons of damage" 3. If you decide to chase him, he can activate his w and run all over the damn lane. 4. HE HAS SHROOMS, WARDS WITH SLOWS. DO YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING THAT IS???? Singed without movement speed is like a fish without water, anything that slows singed, COUNTERS SINGED. I honestly have no idea how to lane against this guy, because the time I laned against Teemo, I couldn't beat him let alone with the lane. Thankfully hardly anyone plays Teemo anymore. If you're unfortunate enough to get this guy, I think regrowth should be fine. Rushing the early gp5 can help you with your sustain. Once again, your early build is very dependent on his playstyle. AD Teemo - Cloth AP Teemo - Null Magic Unsure - Regrowth to Philosopher. [img=champ/tryndamere.png] Tryndamere is capable of killing you early, and even the whole laning stage if he's fed. Slow him with your goo whenever he comes close to you, placing the slow on the creeps also makes him loose creep kills. [img=champ/udyr.png] Udyr is sooo kiteable. Make sure to /laugh at Udyr whenever you get the chance, because he'll never be able to chase you. Get boots and 3 pots for this lineup and just farm, if he decides to bear and gapclose just on your poison and slow. It'll eventually be too late if he realizes he can't catch you, and half of his hp should be gone by then. [img=champ/urgot.png] Urgot works as a counter for most bruiser champions, thankfully Singed ain't one of them. Avoid his E, and you win the lane. Start with a boots and 3 pots if you want to dominate the lane more, regrowth if you just want farm and the early sustain. [img=champ/vladimir.png] You both have horrible early games. He'll automatically play passive against you, and you should be doing the same. He's something like mordekaiser as he needs his spell vamp before he can do anything, so use this to your advantage and farm up early. Pushing the lane helps because Vladimir is horribad at getting creep kills early. Start with regrowth pendant for this for the early gp5. Boots isn't needed because he doesn't have any poke, Cloth because he's not physical. [img=champ/warwick.png] Farm lane. Warwick has the most sustain for a bruiser in the game. Nothing much to say about this lineup. Get Regrowth for the early gp5 in this lane, also provides you with the sustain you need. Pushing the lane early helps, because he can't exactly farm well early on. [img=champ/wukong.png] Wukong has gapclosers and armor penetration and stuff, but none of them should concern you. You can decide to either go for armor 5 pots or regrowth pendant for this setup. Armor to withstand his fancy skills, pendant for the health regent and the early gp5. Pushing the lane helps, because like Warwick he can't farm well under the tower. Make sure not to fling his juking clone, or worst of all DO NOT FLING HIM INTO YOUR DAMN TEAM. [img=champ/yorick.png] No one can beat this guy in top. The best you should hope for is farming as much as him. His sustain in lane is incredibly dumb, his pokes are pain and he has a free GA at level 6. Not to mention his pokes have SLOW. YOU WILL NEED [imgsmall=items/null-magic-mantle.png] for this setup. If he chooses to zone you out, you're pretty much helpless until you get your catalyst.

What makes or breaks a good singed player is his early game. Once you've completed ROA, you're pretty much unstoppable. But getting to that stage is very hard, especially if counter picked. I've already mentioned most of the common picks at top (please leave me a comment if I've missed out one), and how you should play against them. Your aim for Early game would be [img=items/boots-of-speed.png][img=items/catalyst-the-protector.png][img=items/philosophers-stone.png]. Boots for obvious reasons. Philosopher stone for the mana regen, heatlh regen and the gold per second. This item increases your sustain, builds from regrowth pendant, and can be eventually build to make [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png], an essential item to boost movement speed. Catalyst provides you with mana and health, as well as a regen that acts as you level up. This, along with [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png] makes your lane sustain ridiculous. Catalyst can also be build to either [imgsmall=items/rod-of-ages.png] or [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png], which are both vital to Singed. Singed should always be played passive at the early stages of the game ( level 1-5) because of his dependance on items. Your aim should always be farming, not trading hits or zoning out the enemy players. Singed has a very weak early game compared to the other bruisers ( Lee Sin, Gangplank), so even just trying to farm can be quite a challenge. This is where the defensive runes come in handy, to compensate for your weak early game. The point of taking teleport is too have dragon and map control, it is extremely advisable not to use Teleport too early. There will times where you come across heroes who aboslutely zone you out, and you seem unable to farm. DO NOT WORRY, try to farm as much as possible under the tower even if it means loosing out some creep kills. Once you get your philosopher stone and catalyst, you will shit hard on most tops. Let me repeat this once again, your AIM in early game is to farm. Do not take part in teamfights between carries and junglers at btm or mid without having a catalyst or philosopher stone (unless you're VERY certain you're going to land a kill). Having ganks at tops helps you tremendously, but it is not necessary. Singed players will normally completely their [img=items/boots-of-speed.png][img=items/catalyst-the-protector.png][img=items/philosophers-stone.png] by the end of early game ( Before 1st dragon or around 10 minutes). You've already won the lane if you've the same amount of cs as the opponent, because if he doesn't destroy you now, it's your turn to destroy him.

The aim for singed in midgame is: [img=items/mercurys-treads.png][item=rod-of-ages][item=glacial-shroud][item=negatron-cloak] After completing your catalyst, you should be constantly pushing your lane. Do not worry about 2 man ganks or even 3 man ganks, your Insanity potion + ghost should be more than enough to keep you alive. At this stage, you may even consider farming creeps behind the tower (pratisced by many singed players) and allow your creeps to down the tower by themselves. This oftenly works if the opponent isn't snowballing, and the good thing is more attention will be directed at you. If 4 people decide to gank you behind the tower, you will probably die (sometimes survive). The good news is that your team can take advantage of this and push another lane or do dragon if it hasn't already been done. The opposing team will have a headache zoning you out, because : 1. You have alot of mobiliy from [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png] and [imgsmall=skills/singed/r.png] + Movement speed quints. 2. You have a slow that makes you hard to chase. 3. Even if they do decide to chase you, they will take damage from your poison. 4. You're incredibly tanky. Die or not, the outcome will always be in your favor (unless your team is incapable of taking advantage of the situation). You'll also be farming ALOT while pushing, because of your poison. This is probably the most common method of playing Singed from the few singed players in my server. The advantages are : 1. You're pushing and farming. 2. You force the opponents to waste their time TRYING to gank you, resulting in a loss of gold. EVEN If they do succeed to kill you, they could probably get more gold if they stayed in their lane. 3. Your team can take advantage of this situation and push the lane, steal buffs or do dragon. The Mid Game ends around 20-25 minutes, depending on the pace of the game. After mid game comes the transition to late game, Singed's moment to shine.

90% of the games end in the transition to late game, better known as mid-late game. This is where all the 5v5 start happening, and also where Singed shines. By this stage of the game, you should have. [item=mercurys-treads][item=rod-of-ages][item=force-of-nature][item=frozen-heart][item=shurelyas-reverie] Disruption is what Singed is King at doing, and what better time to do it than a teamfight? Your priorities should always be the carries, because those are the champions that make the most impact in a fight. Champions like [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png][imgsmall=champ/vayne.png][imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png] need to be shutdown fast because of their insane damage. If you allow them to constantly attack your team, they'll be reduce to rubble in no time. Your skill order should be [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png][imgsmall=skills/singed/r.png][imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png][imgsmall=skills/singed/w.png][imgsmall=skills/singed/e.png]. That's almost an instant death to most carries. There will come a time where you have to choose which carries are more important, the enemy carry or yours? If you believe that your carry is more essential because of his/her damage output, you should switch your role to DEFEND the carry. Placing [imgsmall=skills/singed/w.png] infront of her, [imgsmall=skills/singed/e.png] enemies away. Anyone of those will do, just make sure your carry is able to kite and position itself. [center][highlight]DO NOT FLING THESE GUYS[/highlight][/center] [img=champ/amumu.png][img=champ/alistar.png][img=champ/galio.png][img=champ/rammus.png] I've seen idiots who fling anyone within their sights, and that's plain idiotic. You should always save your fling for the carries, and not for the sake of using it. If your game doesn't end by this stage, then it'll probably drag on to VERY LATE GAME, where singed isn't as effective as before.

Everyone knows Singed as a beast late game, but in actual he is not. There are 2 reason why Singed players lose game. 1. Poor early game 2. Dragged to a very late game stage. Very Late game is the stage in which EVERYONE has their full item build and is equal in level. This is horrible for Singed because this is the stage of the game where he can be easily destroyed by any carries. There is a huge difference between transition to late game, and very late game. In the transition, most players are not level 18 yet and teamfights often occur without full item builds. Singed excels in this because he has the ability shut down carries with his CC and items, but he does not scale well into late game unlike champions like [imgsmall=champ/ashe.png][imgsmall=champ/tristana.png], because. 1. His abilities do not scale with his items 2. His ultimate Insanity potion might seem to boost him with SUPER BEEFY STATS, but it isn't as effective in late game as the stats provided aren't as good at this stage anymore. 3. He doesn't do enough damage to do an impact at this stage, although his disruption is still good. I'm not saying Singed is bad very late game, he's still pretty much a beast. But the impact made in this stage is incomparable to transition stage, something like from a CEO to a manager in the firm, still not exactly bad.

I believe Singed is one of the best bruisers this game has to offer, and is VERY FUN TO PLAY.
