I constantly get a lot of requests to play and to make a guide for LeBlanc, she seems really popular and people like watching/hearing about her so I decided to make a guide. I have been enjoying LeBlanc a lot the past couple of weeks, and I have had really good results with her in soloQ. LeBlanc is a really fun and versatile champion. She can both have heavy CC (2 CHAINZZZZ?!!) or do high burst. LeBlanc has one of the highest skillcaps in the game and incredible outplay potential which makes her really fun to play. I wanted to shed some light on how I play her, so I wanted to make this guide. I hope you can learn something from the guide. Please be understanding about my english since it is not my native language.

Updated for S6

LeBlanc is a highly mobile AP damage assassin with low cooldowns and huge playmaking potential. She’s a very versatile champion pick in the sense that she can fulfill a backline mage role or be an aggressive assassin threat. The most important thing for all LeBlanc players is to know exactly how much damage you can do to each champion at any point in the game. Doing so will allow you to know the limits of what you can and can’t do throughout the game.

The strengths of LeBlanc are that she is a lower risk pick than other assassins. She has a lot more ways to escape with her Distortion spell, and she does not have to get a kill to be effective. In fact, she can be played as a poke or siege mage if necessary by using a quick QR combo to chunk a priority target back to base. However, she’s extremely reliant on items and levels, and will be very useless if she falls behind. On the opposite side of that coin, if she gets ahead, she becomes incredibly strong and scary for the enemy team to deal with.

This guide will cover a few lane matchups, in addition to teaching you how to build her.

  1. Skill matchup
  2. You want to play aggressively when possible in laning phase, as he’s going to be constantly harassing you from long range.
  3. You want to rush level 2 and keep.
  4. Your best trade opportunity is if he uses a WQ combo, you actually want to eat the Q damage but you dodge the soldier auto by walking forwards towards him and W’ing at him and landing your E.
  5. Post level 6, if he walks into the creep wave to shove, you want to WRQE at him.
  6. When trading, you want to burst him as fast as you can and back out immediately as he wins extended trades.
  7. At level 7, when Azir leaves lane to get blue buff or backs, you can auto each range minion twice, and then when he gets back you can W the creep wave to kill the minions and EQR him. At level 9, you can just auto each range minion once.
  8. If he buys Abyssal as his first item, you’ll have a harder lane phase
  9. At the highest level of Azir play, he’ll probably beat you 1v1, but if you get jungle pressure or just completely outplay him.
  10. If he buys a Nashor’s Tooth first item, you can play very aggressively around levels 9-11
  11. Look for trades when your W is up, and post level 6 only ever trade when your ulti is up unless he’s low enough to be killed
  12. Rush .

  1. LeBlanc favoured matchup
  2. Ahri will win only if she gets an early lead or if she lands every charm and Q.
  3. She will temporarily gain an edge when she completes and Abyssal.
  4. If you dodge all her abilities and land all of yours, which is very doable as LeBlanc, you can very easily bully her out of lane.
  5. Look for trades when the Ahri’s Q is down.
  6. Every time she uses her abilities on the wave, go aggressive and punish her.
  7. Early lane phase lvl 1-5 you can constantly harass her with your W, QW, and EQW combos.
  8. Rush
  9. If you get chunked by an EQ, you want to be very careful of getting all inned by her ult.

  1. Favoured for Zed
  2. You ALWAYS have to rush vs a Zed
  3. Don’t finish the Zhonya’s though, get a after the Armguard.
  4. Your best timing to harass him is when his Q and W are on cooldown.
  5. Early lane phase, level 1, you wanna start W, and W and auto attack him when his Q is on cooldown.
  6. At level 2, you’re stronger than Zed, so you want to look for aggressive QW trades.
  7. Level 3 you start losing trades. Your priority is to make sure the double shuriken with his shadow doesn’t pop when he throws out a W+E.
  8. When you get your Ulti, you have to really keep your distance and make sure you have an escape path every time you harass.

LeBlanc plays early lane more to whittle the opponent down. You can only assassinate an enemy if you’ve whittled them down, or if you have a significant lead. Some good ways to chunk the enemy are as follows:

  1. Q+W is a pretty much the standard damage combo pre-6.
  2. If the enemy walks up in front of creeps, you can hit them with your E which leads into a guaranteed Q+W.
  3. A good guaranteed burst combo between level 6 and 10 is when your Ulti has your W memorized, and you can R+Q+W (hit them with the Q+W) on them and get some guaranteed hits.

As a very important note, every single matchup you play will get harder if the enemy rushes an Abyssal. Sometimes this can make a lane that you might otherwise win bad for you. Be very careful regarding this.

To teamfight as LeBlanc, you need to be very comfortable with your combos, and identify if you need to play as a full burst assassin or a backline kite mage.

If you are to play as a full burst assassin, you want to look for a good flank on the enemy team and instantly delete whoever you can with something like a Q+R+W+E combo. Usually, you would want to prioritize killing an enemy mid laner or AD Carry, but sometimes killing a target such as a Soraka would be a valuable use of your damage as well. If you see the enemy clumped up and you can hit 3-4 targets, a W+R combo would be fantastic at wiping down their health bars.

If you want to play as a backline kite mage, you want to use your Q and E to damage and stall the enemy tanks while keeping your distance from the enemy team. Note that your mimicked E does a lot of damage, and it’s actually very useful when you are kiting the enemy.

LeBlanc is a great champion in the sense that pretty much every combination of your abilities can be chained together to work best based on the situation. It’s very hard to comprehensively go over every single scenario, but the more you play the hero, the better you will be at identifying what the best chain of spells and playstyle will be. Having the proper game sense to know what is correct at what time will be what separates a run of the mill LeBlanc player, and a great LeBlanc player.

Thank you for reading my guide :D I hope you learned a thing or two from reading to guide. I love playing LeBlanc and I hope you will too. See you in the Fields of Justice!
