Welcome to my guide on Vladimir. I have played Vladimir for a very long time. From before all the QQ's about Sanguine Pool or "troll pool" to even today. He is a very fun champion to play although some might think he's lame and easy. From this guide I will explain the tactics and situational items you can build or accomplish on Vladimir.

[imgext=http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8321/vlado.png] Vladimir AKA Onion Head is a tanky mage. Most notably he takes 2 opposing champion types and combines them to one. Much like a tanky dps but a tanky mage. Tanky mages are rare due to the fact that most mages or casters are squishy by nature. Vladimir on the other hand does not have this drawback to an extremity like Veigar or other casters that nuke. You will also find that Vladimir is classified under the AOE mages category. But what makes Vladimir truly formidable is his unique skill set and the utility it brings to not only himself but of course the team. With his skill set not only does Vladimir dominate in team fights but he can quite possibly be one of the top 3 laners during the laning phase. Pros: [.]Sustainable in lanes due to heals [.]Strong Escape Technique [.]3 AOE moves [.]Tanky/Durable Champion Cons: [.]Cooldowns [.]Not very strong till lvl 9+ [.]Ignite [.]Silence and other forms of CC

[imgext=http://www.the72pins.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/league-of-legends-blood-lord-vladimir.jpg] [number]Health: 400 (+85) Health regen.: 6.0 (+0.6) Mana: N/A (Manaless) Mana regen.: N/A Range: 450 Attack damage: 45 (+3) Attack speed: 0.658 (+2%) Armor: 12 (+3.5) Magic res.: 30 (+0) Mov. speed: 310[/number]

[imgext=http://i40.tinypic.com/adjhus.png] [title]Explanation:[/title] For runes I use: [.]3x Greater Quintessence of Potency (+4.95 ability power) [.]9x Greater Mark of Insight (+0.95 Magic Penetration) [.]9x Greater Seal of Vitality (+1.08 health per level (19.44 at champion level 18) [.]9x Greater Glyph of Force (+0.17 ability power per level (3.06 at champion level 18)) Since the countless small nerfs to Vlad, I have changed my runes dramatically from my previous Vlad guide. The only difference is I used to run flat health quints and cooldown glyphs. But with all the nerfs I decided I want a stronger AP. Tested it a few times and it worked out great so I'm sticking by it. Other rune choices: [.]Greater Seal of Resilience (+1.41 armor) [.]Greater Seal of Focus (-0.29% cooldowns) [.]Greater Seal of Force (+0.1 ability power per level (1.8 at champion level 18)) [.]Greater Seal of Focus (-0.29% cooldowns) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [.]Greater Glyph of Shielding (+0.15 magic resist per level (2.7 at champion level 18)) [.]Greater Glyph of Focus (-0.65% cooldowns) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [.]Greater Quintessence of Swiftness (+1.5% movement speed) [.]Greater Quintessence of Focus (-1.64% cooldowns) [.]Greater Quintessence of Fortitude (+26 Health) These runes can be substituted depending on your match up. Marks simply have no swaps due to the magic penetration that you receive which is in disposable. Seals are generally weak in the casters category so you just gotta make do with what you have. Again this is situational, you want to maximize Vladimir's early game, that is the key to a successful Vladimir. When you pass level 9 everything should be much easier. It's the road to level 9 that is a struggle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Example of Other Rune Combination:[/title] [imgext=http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/395/cooldownvlad.png] [title]Explanation:[/title] This setup capitalizes Vladimir's [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion at lvl 9. With this rune setup you can get about 1-2 more cooldown items and reach max CDR to fully utilize the short cooldown on Vladimir's [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion.

[title] Passive: Crimson Pact[/title] [number]Every 40 points of bonus health grants Vladimir 1 ability power and every 1 point of ability power grants Vladimir 1.4 bonus health. These bonuses do not stack with themselves.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is a incredible passive considering Vladimir's lifeline is his Health and AP. Although he doesn't have benefits from any mana items like [imgsmall=items/archangels-staff.png] Archangel's Staff, [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/p.png] Crimson Pact makes up for this by providing AP for his Health and vice versa. This comes in handy, by stacking AP items you can gain a good source of health at the same time. It's all thanks to [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/p.png] Crimson Pact is what defines Vladimir as a tanky mage. [title] Q: Transfusion[/title] [number]Vladimir drains the lifeforce of his target, dealing 90 / 125 / 160 / 195 / 230 (+60% of ability power) magic damage and healing himself for 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 (+0.25 per ability power). Cooldown 10 / 8.5 / 7 / 5.5 / 4 seconds Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Like all champions, each one will have a bread and butter skill. For Vladimir this is his bread and butter skill. There is simply no drawbacks for this skill except for cooldown timer and the range of the spell. But here's the thing when you max out this skill at lvl 9, the cooldown timer for this skill will be about one to one and a half seconds. What does this skill do? This skill applies to a single target dealing 90 / 125 / 160 / 195 / 230 (+60% of ability power) magic damage. At the same time this skill heals Vladimir for 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 (+0.25 per ability power). [title] W: Sanguine Pool[/title] [number]Vladimir sinks into a pool of blood becoming untargetable for 2 seconds and slowing enemies above him by 40% for 1 second. Additionally, he deals magic damage every half second to them and heals himself for 12.5% of the damage done. Magic Damage Per Half-Second: 20 / 33.75 / 47.5 / 61.25 / 75 (+3.75% of bonus health) Maximum Magic Damage: 80 / 135 / 190 / 245 / 300 (+15% of bonus health) Cooldown 26 / 23 / 20 / 17 / 14 seconds Cost 20 percent of current health Radius of AoE: 300[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Sanguine Pool can be used in multiple ways. The primary use of Sanguine Pool is a defense mechanism or escape technique. It's safe to say this skill is one of the S class escapes. Sanguine Pool makes Vladimir untargetable for a few seconds and also allows him to move in this pool state. Since this spell has such a strong utility factor it is natural that it has a high cost too. Every time you use this move you will drain 20% of your current health. Naturally the less life Vladimir has the less it will drain. Most people will find this move as an overpowered move, but learning to counter this move is another step in becoming a better player. The drawback of this move of course is the 20% health drain and the large cooldown to reuse the move. Once Vladimir is out of pool form he is very susceptible to CC. Sometimes I choose to max this first. Having one of the best escapes on a lower cooldown is by far one of the best things you can do. Some might suggest maxing Tides of Blood first for a larger empower stack power and better healing and regeneration. Now lets think about this, if you keep stacking the empower as you say you will won't that accumulation of life lost equal or outweigh the cost of Sanguine Pools cost. Sure you might say regeneration and Transfusion balances out the life lost, but would you rather not have an escape 10 seconds earlier then a rank 1 where you would have actually escaped instead of struggling for your life within that extra 10 seconds. I see this difference as more of a aggression vs survivability factor. Tides of Blood is on a more aggressive and dominating game, whereas Sanguine Pool is in a overall general and not pub stomping usage. Facts: [.]While using Sanguine Pool, Vladimir cannot activate items, summoner spells or any of his other abilities. [.]During the cast time of Sanguine Pool, Vladimir can be hit by Cho'gath's Feral Scream. He will be damaged and silenced but still go into his pool. [.]When in Sanguine Pool, Vladimir is still stunned when passing through Veigar's Event Horizon. If he does this, he will remain in his pool for its duration and remain stunned when coming out if the stun has not expired. [.]Vladimir is still affected by damage over time effects (like Ignite and Swain's Torment) while going into Sanguine Pool. [.]Vladimir cannot use Sanguine Pool to break leash spells such as Morgana's Soul Shackles, Fiddlesticks' Drain, Swain's Decrepify and LeBlanc's Ethereal Chains. [.]Vladimir cannot use Sanguine Pool to pass through walls created by abilities such as Anivia's Crystallize, Jarvan IV's Cataclysm, or Trundle's Pillar of Filth. [.]Even though not stated in the tooltip Sanguine Pool gives a 37.5% movement speed boost for one second when activating the ability. [title] E: Tides of Blood[/title] [number]Vladimir unleashes a torrent of blood dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+45% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies. Each cast gives him an Empowered stack (max 4), increasing his healing and regeneration by 8% each. Additionally, his next Tides of Blood deals 25% more damage and costs 50% more Health per stack. Maximum Magic Damage: 120 / 180 / 240 / 300 / 360 (+0.45 per ability power) Cooldown 4.5 seconds Cost 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 health Maximum Cost 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 health Range 620[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Tides of Blood is a little AOE move that damages all enemy in his radius. Not much to say about this skill. You use this as a combo when your other skills are on cooldown. With Rylia's you can use this skill with your Transfusion for a chain slow. Additionally at times you can last hit fleeing enemies with this skill. But this is no guarantees as the range isn't very far. Last but not least do not over use this skill as it does drain your HP rather quickly. [title] R: Hemoplague[/title] [number]Vladimir infects the target area with a virulent plague. Affected enemies take 14% increased damage for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, infected enemies take 150 / 250 / 350 (+0.7 per ability power) magic damage. Cooldown 150 / 135 / 120 seconds Cost No Cost Range 700 Radius of AoE: 350[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] One of the best AOE moves out there. When you activate this skill it hits the area you targeted with a AOE spell that causes enemies to take an additional amount of damage from anything that hits them. This is VERY important in a team fight as your allies can now burst down enemies faster. Last but not least this skill also does a large amount of damage to enemies. With the new changes there is absolutely no drawbacks to this skill except for cooldowns which is a very strong buff to Vladimir since it means he doesn't lose 15% of his health at the start of team fights unlike the old Vladimir. Riot's intent on this to balance out the cost nerfed the passive from 1.8 to 1.4 as a consequence to this buff.

[title]Explanation:[/title] These two skills are very special and at the top of the debate list for Vladimir. First and foremost is [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion. At rank 1-3 Transfusion has a subpar cooldown which is not very flexible on Vladimir. Play cautiously when you only have 3 ranks in Transfusion. At rank 4-5 Transfusion cooldown is amazing and you will rapidly heal up from continued uses. Remember there is no drawback from Transfusion aside from skill range and cooldowns. When to use Transfusion? [.]Use on creeps to heal up from damage taken [.]Use on enemy champions to harass [.]Use as a nuke on enemy carries When not to use Transfusion? [.]Early laning phase (unless its a last hit) [.]Tanks in teamfights -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next is [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool. Vladimir players love it, everyone else hates it. (Unless you're on his team of course) At all ranks there will be no changes to this skill except for the damage output and the cooldown time. This skill can be used offensively and defensively. Offensively you will use this skill to slow your opponents so they can not escape your Hemoplague, Tides of Blood, and Transfusion combo. Defensively you will use this attack to escape projectiles. Note using this skill can also dodge attacks such as Karthus [imgsmall=skills/karthus/r.png]Requiem. This also means you can dodge shots from the tower. When to use Sanguine Pool? [.]Escaping Gankers that enter your lane [.]Dodging mid air projectiles [.]Slowing your enemies to follow up with combo When not to use Sanguine Pool? [.]Do not use it sparingly on creeps (IT IS NOT A FARM TOOL) [.]Do not use it to facecheck bushes, after you come out from pool form and the enemy is in there you have no other moves to save yourself. [.]Try not to use it with full health that is the maximum amount of life that will be drained from your health. [.]Never harass with this move. NEVER. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skills that will work with Sanguine Pool [imgsmall=summoners/ignite.png][imgsmall=skills/amumu/r.png][imgsmall=skills/fiddlesticks/w.png][imgsmall=skills/galio/r.png][imgsmall=skills/mordekaiser/r.png][imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png][imgsmall=skills/swain/e.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png][imgsmall=skills/morgana/r.png][imgsmall=skills/veigar/e.png][imgsmall=skills/malzahar/e.png][imgsmall=skills/zilean/q.png][imgsmall=skills/shen/e.png] [title]Explanation:[/title] I might have missed some but these are some good examples of spells that will conflict with Vladimir's Sanguine Pool. Some of the moves are situational and possible to dodge if you activate the skill at the right time such as Morgana's Ultimate.

[title]Aggressive Skill Order[/title] [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] [title]Explanation:[/title] This skill order is aimed primarily for Vladimir's that have a easy time in lane that can harass. You get E second to build up some damage for going aggressive. Generally this skill order is also for weaker enemy junglers that must get in close to do something say Udyr or Skarner as you will have enough time to pool not needing the extra levels. [title]Defensive Skill Order[/title] [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png][imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] [title]Explanation:[/title] First and foremost you want to max out [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion. [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion is your life and your best friend. Without it you are no Vladimir. You will finish [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion by lvl 9 and from then on you max [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool. Why [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool first? [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool's cost does not vary when you level it up but the damage it outputs will raise unlike [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] Tides of Blood which drains more life as you level it up. Last you want to level [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] Tides of Blood. And of course grab [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png] Hemoplague at 6/11/16 when available.

[title]Starting Items:[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Boots and 3 health potion is the standard start for Vlad. Everything else just pales in comparison because having extra movespeed is critical in controlling your lane. Being mid or top you need good movement speed to keep up with your opponent. You could try Amplifying tome and a health potion for start but the sustain is not as strong as boots and 3 pots. Overview [.][imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png]Boots of Speed - Very powerful starting item. Gives you mobility which is what you really need at the start. Your passive gives you a good amount of AP and HP at the beginning so you don't need items like Doran's Shield. [.][imgsmall=items/health-potion3.png]Health Potions - 3 or 4 is really up to you. Versus stronger lane opponents consider staying to get 4. When your Q is on cooldown and you need a source of heal this is very important to your lane power at the beginning. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Core Items:[/title] The above example of the Core Items are just the general idea. In actuality your Core Items depend on how you perform in game. Naturally a bad start will lead to items that are less powerful, but at the same time the utility of those items can help pull you back up. Good start core items are self explanatory. You have performed well and should be rewarded with the best of the best. [title]Bad Start Core:[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Overall this setup is primarily based on magic penetration and cooldowns. Instead of mass ap you will get magic penetration to cover up the loss in damage. Think of it this way if you don't do enough damage then you bring your enemies to your level. Cooldowns are a given, you can use Q and W at a more rapid pace. WotA is a strong early game item and cheap very helpful. Most of the time you will not be going this build because this just means you're going to lose because enemies are so fed. [title]Good Start Core:[/title] or [title]Explanation:[/title] This build is aimed toward a good start and lots of income. The difference here is you don't need a Haunting Guise to help you catch up. Most of the time you'll be aiming for this core. As for Rabadon's or Rylias it's really up to you but for me it's based on the enemy team. If they can kite you really bad say Ashe or someone with lots of cc/escape then you might want to get Rylia's to stay on them. If you just want pure raw damage then rabadon's deathcap. Overview [.][imgsmall=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png]Ionian boots of lucidity - These are very powerful early game with your Q and spell vamps. It allows you to cut back on your cool down giving you constant harassing and sustain power. A must have if the enemy is not stacking alot of magic resist. [.][imgsmall=items/sorcerers-shoes.png]Sorcerors Shoe - When enemies are stacking alot of early game magic resist items like Spirit Visage, Mercury Treads, etc.. This is a good item to make up for that heavy damage loss. [.][imgsmall=items/spirit-visage.png]Spirit Visage - An extremely powerful sustain/defensive item for Vladimir early game. It provides Health, Magic Resist, and cool down reduction. A combo of this and hextech revolver makes you a very dangerous dueler. One of the better choices for mid. If you're top lane this is less useful but not completely useless. There are champs like Rumble and Cho'Gath etc. top lane. [.][imgsmall=items/haunting-guise.png]Haunting Guise - Rarely will you get this item unless you are extremely far behind or the enemies early game has amazing magic resist. In most cases if you are grabbing this item, the enemy was ready for you and are currently pushing you into a corner. I do not recommend this item because it delays your final build. It is viable but not recommended. [.][imgsmall=items/will-of-the-ancients.png]Will of the Ancients - The most powerful item for you in the early game. The spell vamp arsenal has no match unless you have enough for a full Rabadon's. But still for the cheap price this is definitely a must buy and a large portion of your power and sustain throughout the game. [.][imgsmall=items/rabadons-deathcap.png]Rabadon's Deathcap - I don't think this item needs an explanation. Quite possibly the strongest AP item in the game. This item gives you a massive portion of your ability power in conjunction with your health through your passive. I used to build this item after Rylia's Crystal Scepter, but these days this item seems to have precedence over it due to the sheer raw power it gives. If you had a good farm and kill lane this is a must get after will of the ancients. [.][imgsmall=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png]Rylia's Crystal Scepter - Another very powerful item in your arsenal. Having this item and Rabadon's mid game makes you pretty much unstoppable. This item contributes a large amount of health for durability, a good amount of damage, and last but not least the most useful part, the ability to kite people with your spells. Generally this item is bought when you lack survivability and chasing power. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Final Items:[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Lots of damage, but if you need to be a little more tanky you can swap some of these items for more defensive ones. Overview [.][imgsmall=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png]Zhonya's Hourglass - This is a key item late game when enemy AD ranged carries start amounting a lot of AD through items. With Zhonya's you can avoid focus fire for a brief second to run your cooldown on Sanguine Pool if you have used it prior. It also contributes to you offensively by granting you a good amount of ability power. [.][imgsmall=items/void-staff.png]Void Staff - By late game enemy tanks and carries will start getting a decent amount of ability power. When that happens, you need a good magic penetration item so you will at least continue to contribute a large portion of damage to enemy carries. Sometimes when you need to poke or peel tanks off carries this is a good item to make them think twice. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Other Items:[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Note none of these items have mana as it is a wasted attribute thus you won't find items like Banshee's Veil, which is of course useful but mana is wasted. Most of these items are situational AP swap or more tanky items. Some are self explanatory, but as for the snowballs I'll explain it in the next section. Overview [.][imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png]Guardian Angels - Most of the time you will buy this item if you are extremely hard to kill. When people see you with this item and have been trying to kill you constantly in the pass 30 minutes, this item really drops their morale. BUT if you have been dieing frequently, this is not really recommended as it might just end up eating an item slot. The second life, armor, and mr is always useful but it comes down to how you use it. [.][imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png]Quicksilver Sash - This is a very good item for CC comp enemy teams. In terms of laning this is worth a buy against Malzahar, Lanewick, Sion etc.. you get the picture. Heavy magic damage and CC is the case here. This item is very useful for lanes you might have trouble with, primarily AP. [.][imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png]Randuin's Omen - This is a good item when the enemy team is heavy on AD carries. This item is very hazardous against champions that depend alot on attack speed over attack damage. It provides a good amount of health, armor, cooldown reduction, and cuts their attack speed down. [.][imgsmall=items/thornmail.png]Thornmail - This is your counter part to Randuins. If the enemy is strong on attack damage over attack speed this is a better investment. An example of this is Gangplank and Tryndamere. They crit really hard, but don't have strong attack speed (questionable for Tryndamere). [.][imgsmall=items/abyssal-scepter.png]Abyssal Scepter - In late game there are 2 very powerful AP + magic resist items. They are Abyssal scepter and Lich bane. For Vladimir, because he runs on cooldowns and health instead of mana, Lich Bane is not a very strong option for him. Thus mana and the auto attack proc (which you will never do in a real team fight situation) is wasted on him. This leaves abyssal scepter which provides Vladimir with a good amount of ability power and magic resist which is a very rare combo. Another thing to note is that it reduces the magic resist of nearby enemy champions by 20, so it's perfect on squishy champions who don't have much magic resist. [.][imgsmall=items/force-of-nature.png]Force of Nature - This is an excellent item for Vladimir. If I want some form of tanky item late game, this would be my ideal choice. Lots of magic resist, movement speed, and rapid health regeneration is priceless for Vladimir. Overall one of my favorite items for Vladimir durability wise and a possible contender for a core item.

[title]Explanation:[/title] Elixirs can be very powerful items depending on how you use them and when you use them. When should you use them? Most of the time elixirs are the tie breakers. In the early stages of the game like the laning phase, you can use elixirs to break tie breakers in the lane. Or if you're losing in the lane, if you use elixirs effectively you can make a comeback. Although use this at your discretion and understand that by buying early elixirs you are also delaying your final build. In late game and teamfights in general, elixir are the balance tip in a scale. It gives you that extra kick to push through those close team fights. Of course you won't be getting both potions at once till your build is complete. I recommend grabbing the [imgsmall=items/elixir-of-brilliance.png] Elixir of Brilliance over the [imgsmall=items/elixir-of-fortitude.png]Elixir of Fortitude if you have to choose one. Elixir of Brilliance gives AP which also contributes to your health but not just that you also get some CDR along with it. Where as Elixir of Fortitude provides health which is true it also contributes to your AP but the other mod it brings is Attack damage which you do not not on Vladimir.

[title]Explanation:[/title] Previously in my core build I have placed Spirit Visage to address some early game cooldowns and and magic resist. A couple of users were displeased with this and strongly supported Haunting Guise. What I would like to make clear is I already have Haunting Guise as one of the suggestion in the previous section and yes it is a very strong item early game. It offers Health, AP, and magic penetration. I understand how useful this item is so I will accept this and change the core build. Ultimately you will sell this item for a Abyssal Scepter. As for Spirit Visage I am still firm that it is not a bad choice of item. At early game, the cooldowns, health, magic resist, and even the nerfed regeneration is very useful. A certain user commented that the cost of Spirit Visage could have gone to create a early game [imgsmall=items/needlessly-large-rod.png] Needlessly Large Rod. But look at it this way can you buy seperate parts to make Needlessly Large Rod unlike Spirit Visage? No you cannot. That's like saying anything within a 1600 gold range is a bad item choice since you can rush Needlessly Large Rod. Haunting Guise costs 1485 would you trade that away for a Needlessly Large Rod? No you would not because the utility it brings for that stage of the game heavily outweighs a Needlessly Large Rod. I'm not saying rushing Rabadon's is a bad idea either, but sometimes it's not all about overdose of damage when you can die instantly. The trade off between Spirit Visage and Haunting Guise is two different road of playstyle. On one hand you have Haunting Guise for a more aggressive and offensive gameplay, and on the other side you have Spirit Visage which is a more survivability and defensive playstyle. Again this all comes down to the player and what they prefer, I stand by the fact that both items are useful in the early stages of the game.

Vladimir has the potential to use Snowball items, namely [imgsmall=items/leviathan.png] Leviathan and [imgsmall=items/mejais-soulstealer.png] Mejai's Soulstealer. The key to these two items is knowing when is the right opportunity to use it. First you start by analyzing the enemy team. Are they primarily melee ranged? That's a good sign that snowballs are worth the risk. Do they have alot of silence? If not then that is also a check for snowballs. But nevertheless these results can change. It all comes down to you as the player yourself. Of course these items are a risk, if you're not a risk taker then don't grab these items. If you do manage to get the full potential out of the snowball items it can be very rewarding. When is it a bad time or in what situations should you stay away from snowballing? When you are laning against champions that are ranged/caster with lots of CC primarily silence and heavy tank composition meaning 3-4+ of the enemy are tanky. If theres an abundance of those champions on the other team then you should stay away from snowballs. Again this is you as the player, but generally it is harder to get more stacks against these opponents.

[title]Explanation:[/title] This item is a hot topic on Vladimir. Alot of people hate it and at the same time alot of people like it. I'm here to tell you today that this item is simply not worth the time on Vladimir. All you're getting out of this is a large quantity of Health, regeneration, and a measly 60-80 AP. At the same time it took you to grab this item, you could have farmed a [imgsmall=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png] Rylia's Crystal Scepter, which provides an incomparable utility to Vladimir. In short Warmog's lets you live but a little longer, without the damage output which you can get from other items.

Vladimir is known for his very strong laning capabilities. In the laning phase, the objective here is to farm your gold, gain xp, and deny the enemy champion(s) gold/xp. At the same time do remember to not overextend in case of enemy junglers ganking. In Vladimir's case this is a little more forgivable due to his [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool skill which allows him to move and become untargetable at the same time. At times you'll have to remember that there are champions out there that can counter Vladimir. Note he is not unstoppable in the lane. Vladimir's skill set does not give him a large range skill wise. Most of his skills are at a small range due to the effects it grants for Vladimir. Thus champions with good range are very dangerous to Vladimir pre lvl 9. These are some champions who can deal a good amount of damage to Vladimir from a distance. [imgsmall=champ/anivia.png][imgsmall=champ/annie.png][imgsmall=champ/ashe.png][imgsmall=champ/caitlyn.png][imgsmall=champ/cassiopeia.png][imgsmall=champ/corki.png][imgsmall=champ/drmundo.png][imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png][imgsmall=champ/gragas.png][imgsmall=champ/janna.png][imgsmall=champ/karthus.png][imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png][imgsmall=champ/kennen.png][imgsmall=champ/kogmaw.png][imgsmall=champ/lux.png][imgsmall=champ/malzahar.png][imgsmall=champ/missfortune.png][imgsmall=champ/morgana.png][imgsmall=champ/swain.png][imgsmall=champ/sivir.png][imgsmall=champ/twistedfate.png][imgsmall=champ/urgot.png][imgsmall=champ/veigar.png][imgsmall=champ/zilean.png]

[title]Explanation:[/title] A very basic video that teaches you how to zone. Your zoning range is pretty much your Transfusion range. Thus getting to level 9 as quick as possible is imperative. When your Transfusion is on cooldown you should back up a bit since without Transfusion you are without your strongest skill.

This is the laning phase. Vladimir is known for his laning phase thus choosing solo lane or mid would be the best. From level 1-8 you will have a tough time. Your Q cooldowns will be long and if the enemy understands the mechanics of Vladimir and how to counter him you'll be in trouble. Against people who have no clue about Vladimir, you can be a little more aggressive. Most pubs generally fall back after you Q them once pre lvl 9 because they think the skill is on an extremely short cooldown. Remember to play it safe don't overextend too frequently even if your [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool is available. If you're low on health you can use Transfusion on minions to regain some health. Last but not least last hit. If you feel your last hit is not that great, remember your [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion damage and use it on minions. When you reach level 9, creep waves are a breeze stand within range where all the creeps can be targetable with [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] Tides of Blood use that once and [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png]Transfusion the rest. [title]Example of early gameplay:[/title]

By this point of the game you should be done with your core items and starting on your final items. In mid game you should be roaming with a few people. You bring alot of utility with the team by dishing out alot of damage, slow them with pool, and increase team damage output with [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png] Hemoplague. This area of the game is Vladimir's spotlight. At this stage not everyone is at their full potential so your [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion makes quick work of everyone. Of course always be on the lookout for lanes that are being pushed and farm it with [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] Tides of Blood and [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png]Transfusion. If you know for a fact enemies are not near, you can use [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/e.png] Tides of Blood and [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png]Sanguine Pool on large stacks of minions to clear faster. [title]Example of mid gameplay:[/title]

Late game has arrived, and you should probably have all your gear settled down. Enemies have a good amount of magic resist so your [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/q.png] Transfusion still takes a lot of damage but the potential is not as strong as mid game. Being in late game also takes a toll on Vladimir too. Enemy carries now have a mean to cut you down so armor/magic resist should is needed on Vladimir. Be present in every team fight as your [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/r.png]Hemoplague can be a deciding factor in team fights. The cost of a slip up is very great in late game even losing 1 teammate because of overextending can be fatal to your team. Last but not least assist any lane getting pushed. By this point you are more on the support side of the team. Your job is enhance your teams true carries damage, and to peel enemies off your carries. If the enemies can't reach your carries then you can start poking on enemy team carries instead. Remember the key here is: [.]Never wander alone [.]Be aware of your surrounding, don't walk into pushes blind without wards nearby to detect possible enemy invasions. [.]Stay behind your tank you are not the tank [.]Timing your Sanguine Pool is very crucial here. Misusing it can cost the team and yourself the game. [.]Use your ultimate at the start of battles to maximize damage [.]It is ok to use your spells on enemies regardless if they are tanks if they stick on your carries

[.]Use Transfusion to regain life [.]Use Transfusion to harass [.]Use Sanguine Pool to dodge projectiles or incoming ganks [.]Use Sanguine Pool to slow enemies if you know no other enemies are near [.]Use Tides of Blood to clear minion waves [.]Use Hemoplague at the start of teamfights for good results These are but some very basic techniques. For a more humorous way of Vladimir you can refer to this flowchart that pretty much explains what you should be doing. [title]Explanation:[/title] Unlike some match ups where you actually have a chance. This match up is close to impossible. There is absolutely no way to beat Leblanc aside from maybe running a def tree mastery and magic resist runes. People have suggested running mass health pots at the start, but from what I see you will still be denied your farm. You can also try buying a null mantle, this will eventually turn into a Mercury Tread or Spirit Visage. That is why I recommend you either A) get a lane swap or B) absolutely do not pick Vladimir if enemy team already has a Leblanc. [.]Ask for lane swap immediately [.]If you must lane with her start with null mantle if you have to [.]Possibly the worst person you can face [.]If enemy picked before you and selected Le Blanc, don't pick Vladimir...

[title]Explanation:[/title] I'd like to explain here that these three heroes are Vladimir's worst nightmare. If you are pit in a lane against any of these three heroes you are up for a fight to stay alive in your lane. [imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png]Kassadin and [imgsmall=champ/malzahar.png] Malzahar are known for their long range and low cooldown silences. This means that they can shut down your Transfusion and Sanguine pool relatively easily. On one hand you have Kassadin who is extremely mobile and will destroy you with Silences and Slow or you face Malzahar who is slow, BUT he has a long range silence and damage that will burst anyone down instantly. Do remember that Malzahar's [imgsmall=skills/malzahar/r.png] Nethergrasp will still suppress you in pool form. Last but not least is the little terror [imgsmall=champ/veigar.png] Veigar. You can't even breath the same air as he does before you get nuked instantly. Because of your passive, you naturally have high AP. This contributes to his [imgsmall=skills/veigar/r.png] Primordial Burst which will most likely take off 1/2 your hp bar or 1/3. If you try to [imgsmall=skills/vladimir/w.png] Sanguine Pool, Veigar will throw up his prison which will stun you in pool form regardless. If you find yourself laning against any of these 3, do take caution. If you don't want to take the risk, let someone else take over your lane.

Aside from Leblanc and the trios Vladimir fares extremely well against a large amount of the champions in the league. In this section I'll go over some matchups and how to fair against them. I will be going over champions you will face in this metagame. Thus you will not find a matchup of say Ashe vs Vladimir. Now on with the matchups: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Easy Lane Match Ups[/title] [imgsmall=champ/anivia.png] [title]Anivia[/title] Avoid her Q. If you can dodge a slow skill shot you can beat her. Post 6 you want to watch out when you get near her as she will use a quick R+E to harass you. Pre 6 should simply not be a problem as long as you're paying attention to her Q. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/drmundo.png] [title]Dr Mundo[/title] Avoid his cleavers and you will be fine. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/fizz.png] [title]Fizz[/title] He simply cannot trade hits with you since he has to dive at you in order to do something. If he dives at you all you simply have to do is pool and wait it out for a bit. Now that he lost his escapes/dives, he is really kitable. Very easy matchup. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/garen.png] [title]Garen[/title] Extremely kitable. Should be a really easy match. If he runs up to silence you, pool before he hits you and go backwards to waste his silence. Without that move he is very vulnerable to your Q and he will most likely pop his shield and run off. If you see him step back to activate his passive, apply some pressure on him force him to back up away from minions as he knows by now you're trying to turn off his passive. By doing so you effectively zone him out from the creep wave. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/jarvaniv.png] [title]Jarvan IV[/title] Much like Irelia without the flag pole and dash he is kitable. Well actually more like a weaker Irelia since unlike Irelia he has no sustain. If he uses his ultimate on you, use Sanguine pool and it will go under his walls.... sadly... [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/jax.png] [title]Jax[/title] Same as above and all melee champs.. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/karthus.png] [title]Karthus[/title] His range is not that great and he has no sustain. You will beat him 90% of the time. The only way he can possibly kill you is if he is incredibly fed or if his jungler has some sort of silence or stun. Don't forget Sanguine Pool can dodge Requiem if you time it right. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/malphite.png] [title]Malphite[/title] Kite Kite Kite [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/nasus.png] [title]Nasus[/title] Can't beat you. Your kiting power is at its prime in this fight. Sanguine Pool cancels out Wither and it's back to kite central again. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/shyvana.png] [title]Shyvana[/title] Kite [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/singed.png] [title]Singed[/title] Same as Shyvana, when he gets close to fling you pool right away and you'll be perfectly fine. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/tryndamere.png] [title]Tryndamere[/title] If he spins or closes gap on you pool. After pooling kite him continuously as he has no escape or gap closer now. Your ultimate and ignite is very strong against him at all points of the game. If not probably the best as in my eyes Vlad's ultimate was made to counter Tryndameres ultimate. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/twistedfate.png] [title]Twisted Fate[/title] Against Twisted Fate I like to farm and watch for his pick a card. When I see him lock in a blue card to regain mana I immediately pounce on him. If I see him lock in a gold card, I know he is somewhat ready to commit to a burst or a kill. This might also mean that his ally might be near thus backing off is a good idea. Dodging wild card is also a good idea in this match. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] [imgsmall=champ/xinzhao.png] [title]Xin Zhao[/title] Cannot catch you outside his E. Kite him. [number]Rating: Easy[/number] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Mediocre Lane Match Ups[/title] [title]Ahri[/title] She has a good passive that will help her vamp all the damage shes taken. She has great range against you so take note of it. She will try to use her Q to push you out from behind your creep wave. If you try to go near her she might either A) charm you for a foxfire and orb combo or B) just fox fire. Both options don't take her lightly. If she misses her skill shots, punish her for it and stay aggressive on her with your Q. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/cassiopeia.png] [title]Cassiopeia[/title] Make sure you dodge her Q. In my opinion, I find this match up to be really easy. With boots at the start you are very mobile so it will be really hard for her to land Q on you. If she can't land her Q on you, she can't trade hits with your Q. If she lands a Q+E combo once on you, I suggest using pool backwards so her Q boost and E timer expires. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/gragas.png] [title]Gragas[/title] You will need a good source of spell vamp for this match up. His barrels do alot of damage and he has a low cooldown dash to get closer or away from you. Don't forget if he tosses a barrel and misses, he lost a huge portion of his damage output. This is a good chance to harass him with your combo. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/irelia.png] [title]Irelia[/title] Another melee champ. Yes she has sustain, but not quite at your level and she runs on mana which is also a good thing for you. Remember if she dashes on you, she uses up her dash to escape on a minion. Without a dash most champs are really kitable for Vlad especially if they are a melee like Irelia. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/katarina.png] [title]Katarina[/title] Much like Karthus, big damage but low range and no sustain. She also has a healing reduction for alittle bit so take that into consideration. Other then that she's not much of a threat. If you Sanguine Pool during her ultimate she just lost her kill potential. [number]Rating: Easy-Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/kennen.png] [title]Kennen[/title] Dodge his Q skill shot. Simply being behind your minions against Kennen is already an advantage against him. If he comes closer with his Lightning Rush use Sanguine Pool. Without lightning rush, Kennen is very slow and cannot escape against you at all. Thus this is great for your E+Q. Much like most AP casters he is without sustain till he buys some form of spell vamp. In teamfights be aware of his ultimate, if you get caught by it you're most likely dead. Watch out if you have any of his lightning marks on you, he can still hit you with W. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/lux.png] [title]Lux[/title] She has alot of range against you so watch out for that. Do your best to avoid her skill shots as they do hurt and are aoe for the most part. If you're taking too much damage consider healing up from minions and farming for a bit till you're at full potential again. Remember Lux does not have as much sustain as you in lane because for one she has no healing potential outside of healing potions and if she bought spell vamp. The second is she runs on mana. Lasers can't hit a pool on the floor... [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/orianna.png] [title]Orianna[/title] She has good range and damage so don't underestimate her. But like most AP champions, she runs on mana heavily and her sustain is not very good aside from her shield. Apply some pressure on her and poke with your Q. Even if you take some damage you have the power to leech it back off minions unlike her. This doesn't mean you can carelessly take free damage from her because she does hurt even though she was nerfed. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/renekton.png] [title]Renekton[/title] As long as he doesn't catch you with his dash and stun you'll be fine. If he's in mid air toward you with second dash you should pool backwards immediately to avoid the huge early game damage. Without his dash he is as kitable as any melee champion. [number]Rating: Easy-Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/riven.png] [title]Riven[/title] This match up is very easy. She will most likely Q or E towards you which makes her extremely vulnerable to minion aggro and your Q. If she flashes on top of you immediately Sanguine Pool to avoid further damage and to negate the full potential of her passive. All in all she is very susceptible to your Q. [number]Rating: Easy-Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/rumble.png] [title]Rumble[/title] Treat him like a melee champion. Without his harpoons, he is kitable like all melee champions. Another easy match up in my opinion. Some rumbles are very smart though, they save their ultimate for your pool when you resurface, you'll be stuck in their ultimate which hurts alot combined with his Q and an almost instant kill so watch out for that. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/wukong.png] [title]Wukong[/title] His dash and auto attack proc is very painful but it brings him closer to get hit by your Q. If you see you're taking too much damage from this combo, heal up from minions. The next time he repeats this combo, pool when he starts his dash. By doing so he loses out on his auto attack proc due to timer and this puts him in a kitable situation. At this point he will most likely stealth away allowing you to farm again. What he doesn't have over you in this lane is your sustain power. Use it to your advantage. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/xerath.png] [title]Xerath[/title] As long as you avoid his stun combo you will be fine. That's what you have your pool for so his stun combo doesn't connect. Once he misses his stun, Xerath is very open to attacks. [number]Rating: Mediocre[/number] [imgsmall=champ/zilean.png] [title]Zilean[/title] Time the bombs and pool at the right time. When his bombs are on cooldown, he is without any harassing power. He uses up alot of mana with his bombs and has no sustain unlike you. [number]Rating: Easy-Mediocre[/number] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Hard Lane Match Ups[/title] [imgsmall=champ/annie.png] [title]Annie[/title] Annie is a very tough opponent. She has about the same range as your spells but her spells hurt more. What you have to do about Annie is to watch for her passive. Once you see the aura around her you should back up. If you get caught in her combo you're most likely dead. Another tactic is to watch when Annie uses her Q to last hit on a minion, when she does this go in for a harass as she lost one 1/3 of her potential. Not much to say, but make sure you have a good amount of spell vamp if you want to trade 1:1 hits. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/chogath.png] [title]Cho'Gath[/title] You'll want a lane swap as this is pretty pointless. He has megasustain on creeps and tanks like hell. Also he has a silence nuke. Let a bruiser take him down. If you have to lane against him, I suggest farming and requesting for lots of ganks as he is not very good at escaping. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/galio.png] [title]Galio[/title] Very annoying, this is just a farm lane. Your spells will do no damage to him. He does hurt if he connects his Q+E but that's all he has aside from R so it's nothing your spell vamp + Q won't heal up. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/gangplank.png] [title]Gangplank[/title] Somewhat hard and annoying. He has a healing debuff, crits, and healing for himself. But what advantage do you still have over him? He uses mana while you don't. He cannot freely use his skills without care. I really would not recommend trading blows as his Q will slow you. If you pool after getting hit by his Q he will most likely follow you and his Q will come back up off cooldown by then and repeat. Again this is very tough and annoying. I recommend having a good amount of spell vamp before going aggressive on him. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/heimerdinger.png] [title]Heimerdinger[/title] This lane is extremely annoying. In most cases this lane is an extreme stalemate. Both sides will farm extremely hard and both sides are near unkillable. Vlad and Heimer both have excellent defence and regeneration capabilities, it makes it hard to get anything done in your lane aside from farming. In terms of pushing power, I strongly believe you are stronger in pushing. When it comes to defending the tower, his double turrets and spells are extremely potent. Again this is just a pure farm lane. Go gank a different lane once you push out your lane. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/pantheon.png] [title]Pantheon[/title] His spear harass combined with his stun is very strong so watch out for that. What he's trying to do is to burst you down early game pre lvl 9 as quickly as possible. You don't want to get too close to Pantheon as his stun along with full combo is devastating. What's very important to learn in this match is last hitting under your own tower so he does not reap the benefits of a early game snowball. If you do trade hits, make sure his stun is not up. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/ryze.png] [title]Ryze[/title] This is very tough and you both have near the same range except his prison forces you in place. If you're trapped in prison its a good idea to Sanguine pool then to minimize the amount of damage you might receive. Damage wise he will win this. So if you plan to trade hits make sure his prison is on cooldown. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/swain.png] [title]Swain[/title] Oh man this guy is a pain. Not completely unbeatable but just annoying. The worst part is that 2/4 of his spells will stay on you even if you pool. His spells also work like a healing reduction so you'll see a less effective healing while taking damage from him. What you have over swain though is that his spells consume a massive amount of mana and his range is not very long. Remember to avoid his prison. Getting caught by prison can get you nuked to about 50% or worse. Good spell vamp is a must in this match up. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/talon.png] [title]Talon[/title] Very tough match up. Talon is a anti caster and specializes on closing gaps and dealing a ridiculous amount of burst damage. Talon does alot of damage but he also uses a lot of mana and is not very tanky. If you're able to trade 1:1 hit, this can turn out in your favor. But if he lands a E+Q+W on you it will be very devastating so do not take him lightly and attempt to go near him. [number]Rating: Hard[/number] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Question Lane Match Ups[/title] [imgsmall=champ/akali.png] [title]Akali[/title] Against Akali you generally want to play very aggressive against her pre lvl 6. Pre level 6 Akali simply cannot beat you since she doesn't have her ultimate to close the distance. Poke her as much as possible with Q. If she lands her Q on you it is imperative that you do not let her proc the Q or else it will hurt. If she runs up to you make her pay by kiting her. Post 6 you want to play defensive, she is now a killing machine and if she lands an ignite on you, it's gonna hurt really bad. [number]Rating: Easy-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/brand.png] [title]Brand[/title] Easy/tough opponent. His spells hurt you alot since the passive does dot %. As long as you don't get hit by his Q after his passive is on you, you'll be fine. [number]Rating: Easy-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/mordekaiser.png] [title]Mordekaiesr[/title] Tough as he will have his shield up a majority of the time. Against Mordekaiser, you want to be aggressive on him and make sure he is not getting the full potential of his passive. Mordekaiser will use his Siphon on a large group of enemies so he gets a larger shield reward. This tells us that we can last hit from the side to A) avoid harass and farm safely B) trade blows much easier as Mordekaiser cannot prioritize minions and champions in different directions. [number]Rating: Mediocre-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/morgana.png] [title]Morgana[/title] Avoid her Dark Binding is the key in this fight. Staying behind minions is generally a good idea if there are any left. Sanguine Pool is another good way to avoiding her Dark Binding. Pretty much Morgana revolves around her Dark Binding if she ever wants to kill a champion. You can feign harassing by running towards her and backing off. In most cases she will pop a spell shield on her self to absorb some damage, but in this situation we want her to waste it. After her spell shield expires, you can go in to harass her with Q. [number]Rating: Mediocre-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/nidalee.png] [title]Nidalee[/title] Pre 6 Nidalee should be fairly easy as she does not have an extreme form of damage along with her heal unless it's an AD Nidalee. Post 6 with cougar, she receives a good amount of damage and is very hard to catch. Consider applying some aggression on her pre 6 to stop her from getting a good amount of farm. What you can expect from her pre 6 is heals and auto attacks. [number]Rating: Mediocre-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/sion.png] [title]Sion[/title] This is very tough if he knows what he's doing. He will activate his shield before going in to stun you. Your only option here is if he runs towards you with his shield on you should pool away to wear out the shield. By doing this you just ruined his combo and he will only have half his killing power. [number]Rating: Mediocre-Hard[/number] [title]Volibear[/title] Volibear is very tanky with a very good damage versus you specifically and a good regeneration passive. You cannot afford to get caught by him thus Sanguine Pool is very imperative. If he initiates his charge it's best that you use Sanguine Pool to wear out the timer. After that he is very easy. If he catches you with the charge it will hurt alot with his slow and nuke so avoid it at all cost. [number]Rating: Easy-Hard[/number] [imgsmall=champ/yorick.png] [title]Yorick[/title] He is very tanky and has his own personal heal which is very strong. He is probably almost on par with you on sustain power in lane. The only thing Yorick needs to watch out for is his mana. In most cases he will have the upper hand in a sustained fight, but in a trade blow type of situation you have the advantage. [number]Rating: Mediocre-Hard[/number] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Impossible or Extremely Tough Lane Match Ups[/title] See Leblanc and The Trio section.

[title]Ancient Blue Golem[/title] A very good buff on Vladimir although he can utilize only half the potential of the buffs. With Ancient Blue Golem buff you can utilize the CDR for all your spells. Although if there are other casters on your team such as [imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png] Kassadin or [imgsmall=champ/anivia.png] Anivia, it's best to give the Ancient Blue Golem buff to them as they will have better usage of the buff since they can utilize the mana and the CDR. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [title]Red Lizard Buff[/title] I guess this can be useful for kiting but you already have Transfusion on a low cooldown combined with Rylia's Crystal Scepter which is enough kiting in general. Leave this buff for ranged carries such as Ashe, Corki, Tristana, etc.

It all leads up to this the team fight. You are by no chance the initiator what so ever. I REPEAT.. DO NOT INITIATE. Even though your 3k-4k life looks very tanky, in reality you are not. You are just about as squishy as veigar because you lack a large amount of armor and magic resist. On the bright side you wanna go in around 2nd or 3rd after initiator because your ultimate is made for team fights. Your ultimate will make your team deal 14% more dmg. Free dmg? yep thats right free dmg. Imagine a fed Vayne shooting like a mad man with her silver bolts with 14% more dmg that is amazing. [title]Priority[/title] [.]Do not be out of position [.]Stay with team [.]Do not initiate [.]Use ultimate on enemy team at start of fight [.]Aim for squishies [.]If enemies are on your range carries its ok to attack and peel them off [.]Use Sanguine Pool to escape if teamfight is loss but not immediately [.]Can use Sanguine Pool on enemy if the fight is a landslide to ensure they don't escape Overall your role is the tanky mage. Remember this doesn't mean you should initiate you should be like the annoying fly that stays on someone and that's extremely hard to kill because of utility.

Vladimir is not an invincible champ. You must know your limits such as when to get in and when to get out. Transfusion and Sanguine Pool are very resourceful thus you should use them at the correct time. By grasping these concepts and practicing with Vladimir you will bring a valuable asset to your team.
