Vayne is the new champion that everyone is QQ ing about. She is however in my opinion not OP at all and is extremely balenced. Without a single AOE move, her team fight takes much more skill at positioning. Many people will say that Vayne hits way to hard, however, this is not true since she can only ever focus one target and she has lower range many other range carries. [highlight]THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT SHE IS BAD, JUST THAT SHE IS DIFFERENT THAN SAY CORKI OR TRISTANA.[/highlight] She is an effective carry with more mobility than any other range carry in game.

I run the rune set up: 9x Greater Mark of Desolation +1.66 armor penetration 9x Greater Seal of Resilience +1.41 armor 9x Greater Glyph of Shielding +0.15 magic resist per level (2.7 at champion level 18) 3x Greater Quintessence of Desolation +3.33 armor penetration OTHER VIABLE OPTIONS: 9x Greater Seal of Alacrity +0.76% attack speed 9x Greater Seal of Vitality +1.08 health per level (19.44 at champion level 18) 3x Greater Quintessence of Alacrity +3.4% attack speed 3x Greater Quintessence of Strength +2.25 attack damage 3x Greater Quintessence of Swiftness +1.5% movement speed I run this set up with heavy armor penetration since you will be doing true damage to anyone who does not have additional armor (which you will mainly only find in normal) and also because it makes last hitting much easier. Vayne NEEDS to farm to be effective late game so make sure you do so. I also choose the armor and magic resist because you WILL BE FOCUSED, the longer you survive the more damage you do so this will help later a lot. Attack damage is effective as well on Vayne since many of her skills scale well with AD (one of the main reasons Blood Thirster is so amazing). Movement speed is helpful as well for dodging spells and harrassing.

[title][img=skills/vayne/p.png] Passive: Night Hunter[/title] [number]Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers. She gains 40 Movement Speed when moving toward nearby enemy champions.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This passive helps a lot with chasing but can also help with escaping and manuvering as well if you angle this right. The bonus from your ultimate increase your speed to something even warwick would be jelious of for chasing. [title][img=skills/vayne/q.png] Q: Tumble[/title] [number]Vayne tumbles a short distance and her next basic attack within 6 seconds deals bonus physical damage. The bonus is equal to 55/60/65/70/75% of her total Attack Damage. Cooldown 6/5/4/3/2 seconds Cost 35 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Bread and Butter move for Vayne. This skills gives large burst as well as the ability to position well and even invisability when you use your ultimate. You can use this to close the distance between you and your enemy for create space. This is the move that makes Vayne a viable carry. [title][img=skills/vayne/w.png] W: Silver Bolts[/title] [number]Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target deals an additional 30/40/50/60/70 plus 4/5/6/7/8% of the target's maximum Health as true damage. (Max: 200 damage vs. Monsters)[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ability is nice since it will reward you for focusing just one target. The true damage is also extremely powerful late game but still can not compare to many other characters abilities like Irelia, Kogmaw, or Olaf, and Poppy's Q does more than this as well. Great for harrassing early since it will add a large amount. [title][img=skills/vayne/e.png] E: Condemn[/title] [number]Vayne fires a huge bolt, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 (+50% of attack damage) physical damage and knocking her target back. If they collide with terrain they take 60/100/140/180/220 (+50% of attack damage) additional physical damage and will be stunned for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown 20/18/16/14/12 seconds Cost 90 mana Range 450[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ability allows you to create distance from anybody that is rushing you. This also allows you to wall stun people for extremely large amount of burst. Has long CD so should be used sparingly. Do not use this at the beginning,[highlight] ONLY USE THIS AS YOUR LAST HIT FOR HARASSING OR KILLS, OR TO STUN/PUSH BACK SOMEONE WHO IS TRYING TO GET CLOSE.[/highlight] I have seen many people use this right away for the aditional damage however it is not normally a good idea, since it costs lots of mana, has a long cd, and can save u from ganks so plz use with caution. [title][img=skills/vayne/r.png] R: Final Hour[/title] [number]For 8/10/12 seconds Vayne gains 35/55/75 Bonus Attack Damage, Tumbling grants Vayne stealth for 1.5 seconds, and the bonus Movement Speed from Night Hunter is quadrupled. Cooldown 70 seconds Cost 80 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ulti is much more than it sounds like. It adds a significant steroid damage wise as well as a massive speed buff for chasing that nobody will be able to escape you except for maybe a Yi if hes lucky. The invis although only for a short time will allow you to reposition frequently in team fights and if used right will make you unfoucsable.

[img=items/dorans-blade.png]- Probably the best starting item for any ranged carry in game. Gives health, damage, and life steal- everything you could possibly want early game. If you get behind, stacking dorans will help you catch up. [img=items/berserkers-greaves.png]/[img=items/mercurys-treads.png] Should help you survive better and help with kiting, if you are bad at positioning and other team lacks CC [img=items/boots-of-swiftness.png] can be viable to help kite. [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png] Probably the best item you can get on Vayne. Huge AD bonus and life steal. The AD effects [img=skills/vayne/q.png] & [img=skills/vayne/e.png], this will help your burst substancially and allow you to harrass better. You should have 0 problem getting stacks since you will be farming top the majority of the game. [img=items/cloak-and-dagger.png] Possible substitute if for some reason you did not get merc treads, since you do not in most cases stack crit this is not normally the best option. [img=items/infinity-edge.png] Not my favorite item for Vayne, will help increase DPS substancially but is extremely costly. Normally i do not get this until late game if i do get it. [img=items/frozen-mallet.png] Great item on Vayne. Helps you kite with the massive slow, gives AD, and helps with survivability which is minimal at best on Vayne. If team is heavy melee this item is a must, still effective if they do not have melee, never a bad option. [img=items/frozen-heart.png] This item is surprisingly great on Vayne. It gives you 99 armor which will make you substancially harder to kill as well as an aura that slows down AS of enemy. This also lowers your CD by 20% which is ALOT. will make [img=skills/vayne/q.png] & [img=skills/vayne/e.png] much more spamable. Also gives mana so you dont have to worry about running out. [img=items/wriggles-lantern.png] Viable option on Vayne. Will help you farm early game for even more CS along with lots of life steal and a free ward. Really no downside to this item. Also has a little bit of armor. [img=items/banshees-veil.png] Never a bad option aginst high AP teams. Mana will help with spaming. Would not get this and frozen heart though, pick one or the other. [img=items/guardian-angel.png] Ok option since it will remove the famous global passive of agro other team that Vayne shares with Teemo. I would normally only get this with a life steal build and when i have cleanse since once u revive they will just nuke you again. [img=items/madreds-bloodrazor.png] Decent option, however I do not get unless other team is extremely tanky. Many people think this has good synergy with [img=skills/vayne/w.png] however i feel there are better options from personal experiance. [img=items/malady.png] Only if you get [img=items/madreds-bloodrazor.png] otherwise just a waste of money. [img=items/phantom-dancer.png] Not the greatest unless you are stacking crit. Just costs way to much for what it offers. [img=items/last-whisper.png] Good item but only if other team stacks armor, otherwise pretty much worthless. [img=items/quicksilver-sash.png] Most underated item in game. [highlight]Will save your life many times. ALWAYS GET WHEN PLAYING AGAINST MALZAHAR, MORDE, or WARWICK.[/highlight] [img=items/the-black-cleaver.png] I normally get this item. Will help with burst and since you are always bursting one target the debuff will always be maxed out. [img=items/sword-of-the-divine.png] ALWAYS GET IF AGAINST JAX! Otherwise ignore it since it wont be worth it. [img=items/trinity-force.png] Great item with lots of burst. Only get if you are going to be bursting a lot instead of trying to have sustained damage. Great synergy with Frozen Heart, always get with because of CD reduction. [img=items/the-brutalizer.png] Great early game item which will in most cases have you doing true damage early game. Only get if you think you will be having traffic in your lane or plan on ganking and dragon fights.

As vayne you should be either mid lane or top, I personally perfer solo top because you then gain much more use out of [img=skills/vayne/e.png] with wall shots, also top gains much more farming time than mid or bottom and will be able to get that essential farm that Vayne needs to demolish late game. To harrass you should hit them once, [img=skills/vayne/q.png] and once you get [img=skills/vayne/w.png] which you do at level 2, hit them one more time for the proc which will do substancial damage pre-6. Around level 6 you should have farmed enough for another Dorans and your boots, and if you have done exceptionally well Boots 2, otherwise grab 2 wards if you are top and a couple potions and head back to lane. One ward should be used to prevent ganks, however the second ward should be put in the brush closest to the enemies turret. You may wonder why I say to put a ward in such a menial position. This is because of your wall shots, with this ward= about 3 CS. You can now prevent the enemy from juking in the brush as well as setting up wall shots, let the enemy push a little and when you engage, their first instinct will be to get LoS of you, this is when you hit them with the [img=skills/vayne/e.png] wall shot for the easy kill, you will quadrouple your money just from the kill and if its first blood then even more, plus you will put them at at CS and level disadvantage to allow yourself easy farming throughtout. This thread shows the optimal places to put wards. This is ESSENTAIL To winning games so make sure you do so throughout the entire game. If you do not ward, expect to be ganked, give up multiple oppurtunities for ganks and buffs, as well as losing control over central points like Baren and Dragon and Blue and Red Buffs. [highlight]THIS IS A MUST, IT IS NOT THE JUNGLERS JOB TO WARD, IT IS THE TEAMS INCLUDING YOU SO DO THIS OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES FOR 0 MAP CONTROL.[/highlight]

At this point you should have the most CS in the game and should be warding to prevent ganks. Unless you have an Ezreal on your team, you should have red buff now. Red buff on vayne is extremely important and should be yours over anyone else on your team. You should also be farming as much as possible and leaving your lane only when your team needs you to do so. Team fights are no where near top priority for vayne atm and although you can gank, only do so when you are sure you will get a kill, otherwise you will fall behind on xp and money and hurt yourself substancially late game. At this time you should be calling for ganks on top lane and using your ult when you know you can kill, [img=skills/vayne/r.png][highlight]REMEMBER THIS GIVES YOU 4x [img=skills/vayne/p.png][/highlight]. You should also still be harrassing with tumble when you can get a few free hits in. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO FARM WITH TUMBLE! This will ensure last hits and allow you to have a great CS, however, be careful not to push to hard, or else you will be ganked and killed.

When ganked, look at your surroundings, is there nearby brush? how many people are attacking? Do they have CC? If you can just go back to tower and take minimal damage then do so. If you are close to a brush using this could help drastically. Go to the brush and before they enter, [img=skills/vayne/r.png] and [img=skills/vayne/q.png] away, sometimes this could mean going toward them if timed right they could completely miss you. If they catch on then quickly auto attack someone to reset your CD on [img=skills/vayne/q.png], the distance created from tumble is much more significant than the movement speed of most characters. Flash should only be used if you know u will be put in a CC chain and acumulate massive damage from this, otherwise try to save your flash since the CD is long and you must play much more cautious if you do not have your summoner up. Ghost can be used if you think flash will not be enough, however, ghost imo is more effective for vayne offensively and in team fights so try to hold on to this if possible.

At this point you should be fighting in team fight and taking baren. [highlight]MAKE SURE TO ALLOW TANK AND MELEE TO INIATE FIRST!!! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, U WILL DIE IF YOU RUN IN![/highlight] [img=skills/vayne/w.png] will make killing baren a breeze. YOU SHOULD STILL BE GETTING RED BUFF! Never! be the first into a team fight, your tank AND MELEE DPS should engage before you do. If you go in to early, you will die in under a second so please dont think you are Rambo or Leeroy Jenkins and STAY BEHIND YOUR TANKS! If you have farmed and gotten a few kills a long the way, you should be able to kill people in a few seconds.[img=skills/vayne/r.png][highlight] MAKE SURE TO POP YOUR ULT THE MOMENT YOU ENTER THE TEAM FIGHT.[/highlight] I can not stress this enough, this will make you extremely difficult to focus due to the invis and help your burst substancially. You will also have much more mobility with it.

I will update this guide some more, ATM i do not have access to my main computer and therefore can not make some youtube videos to help illustrate my points. I will get to this as soon as possible.
