Anivia is perhaps one of the most balanced champions to play in solo queue, no nerf no buff, so she is very sustainable. She can be played as a 'burst castor' \"WITH\" Crowd control (stun/slow/wall). As an AP role, it is crucial to play as a team and synergise with jungler early game. And its true, Mid is the hardest lane of all because junglers can gank from 6 directions! WARDING DOES THE JOB! Alright, first of all, I want to make clear that Anivia isn't a champion where you can immediately carry first time. Anivia is a not a champion you should carry with and rage at your teammates because you have more kills than them. Anivia is the embodiment of \"TEAMWORK\"! Anivia, assist, anivia, good assist is good! Throughout this guide, I will go through literally everything to help you out with Anivia in solo queue. Why? Because I love Anivia and deserves to be well known to pleasant people ^_^

Last hitting: It is vital to last hit with any champion in general. Anivia requires lots of timing with last hitting because of her slow animation. By playing enough games with Anivia (200+), you should be able to get the hang of it. Her auto attack is VERY weak early game. THIS means two turret hit and her last auto attack WONT kill it. How to counter this? Auto attack (not last hit) to ensure your opponent isn't pushing too much. And of course you shouldn't either.

Marks: Magic Penetration, Always no matter what. Burst early game mid and end game. 9x Magic Pen runes. Seals: Can either go flat mregen or Mregen per lvl. I chose flat because solo queue is mostly early game domination. 9x flat mregen runes. Flat armor if against [img=champ/pantheon.png] or [imgsmall=champ/talon.png] Glyphs: After many games with Anivia, i've been switching from flat Cooldown --> cd per lvl --> flat AP --> AP per lvl --> flat magic pen --> and its come to a conclusion that flat magic resist helps the most. Basically each magic resist is 10hp damage reduction. Because I am abnormal having 8.5 magic pen i rather put 2 magic pen and 7 flat MR runes. Quintessences: AND of course its understandable to question why anivia is so slow even though she's a bird..well tough luck her icy feathers pulling her weight i guess. Movement speed quints + Movement speed masteries are a way to go to avoid skillshots, ganks, positioning. Flat AP if you think you can wreck em pre 6. Because Anivia is OP early and mid game if you know what you're doing.

[title][img=skills/anivia/p.png] Passive: Rebirth[/title] [number]Upon dying, Anivia will revert into an egg. If the egg can survive for six seconds, she is gloriously reborn.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is a VERY VERY VERY good passive. Gives you upper advantages in mid for aggressive play but unskilled players will waste this. [title][img=skills/anivia/q.png] Q: Flash Frost[/title] [number]A massive chunk of ice flies toward target location, dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+50% of ability power) damage, slowing movement by 20%, and chilling any enemy it passes through. At the end of its range or if Anivia activates the spell again, the missile detonates, doing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+50% of ability power) magic damage in a small area and stunning units for .75 seconds. Cooldown 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9seconds Cost 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160mana Range 1100[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Q to shoot Q again to stop. It is vital that you press Q \"AFTER\" it passes the opponent or else it only does 50% of the dmg output. In early game situations it is important to use it \"ONLY\" if you know jungler ganks or you're just a genius. Takes up alot of mana, so dont use this too much to farm. if you're vsing [imgsmall=champ/sion.png][imgsmall=champ/cassiopeia.png][imgsmall=champ/ahri.png] save ur stun! [title][img=skills/anivia/w.png] W: Crystallize[/title] [number]Anivia summons an impenetrable wall of ice 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 / 800 units wide, blocking all movement. The wall lasts for 5 seconds before it melts. Cooldown 25seconds Cost 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 / 150mana Range 1000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Best AOE stunning skill. A good anivia player knows when to use this. I get this early game to mess enemy jungle escape when counter ganking, detecting brush and blocking incoming ganks. Very useful to have this for backup. [title][img=skills/anivia/e.png] E: Frostbite[/title] [number]Anivia blasts her target with a freezing wind, dealing 55 / 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 (+50% of ability power) magic damage. If the target has been chilled, they take double damage. Cooldown 5seconds Cost 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90mana Range 650[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Main damage skill. Anything chilled does double damage. Rylais and frozen mallet counts as chilled, as well as nunus and ashes ult. However movement reduction does not stack. It has a decent speed animation so you can actually use E as long you put up your R right away. [title][img=skills/anivia/r.png] R: Glacial Storm[/title] [number]Toggle: Anivia calls forth a driving rain of ice and hail, dealing 80 / 120 / 160 (+25% of ability power) magic damage per second, slowing their movement and attack speed by 20% for 1 seconds, and chilling them. Cooldown 10 seconds Cost 75 / 75 / 75 mana Range 625 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Good AoE. One of the most annoying skill in the game because once you have blues, you can leave it on forever ^_^ perfect for group pushing, using inside [img=champ/jarvaniv.png]'s Cataclysm, slowing down opponents, chain combo for your E, and best to harrass too! R then E then Q. Simple as that. If you can stun them inside ur AOE they have to take another second inside ur ult.

Solo queue matches you with a team around your elo. However, that does not mean they are equally as skilled as you. I've seen so many bad and good players around 1600 elo. Solo queue is all about early game domination. Win your lane, help other lanes, map control and hopefully they will surrender at 20. Some tips in raising your solo queue: -Its important to play one champion only instead of playing a variety of different ones. -Its important not to die too much. Anivia is a hard champion to kill and kites well like ashe. -Its important to gank other lanes. Anivia is a good ganker. -Its important to have map control. Anivia has wall to prevent facechecking.

[imgsmall=champ/ahri.png] - She's a better teamfighter and sustain than anivia, but pre 6 you can destroy her. Just make sure to stay behind a minion so you don't get charmed. [imgsmall=champ/akali.png] - A good akali will try counter if your Q misses her. Situational fight by skill. [imgsmall=champ/annie.png]- Fire vs Ice, but I really love vsing an annie. Simply because anivia is a long range champion and her 5 stacked Q has walk up to anivia. Anyone who walks toward anivia will die. walk forward = straight line. Straight line = Easy Q landing. Just be careful and not get too aggro. Destroy her pre 6. [imgsmall=champ/brand.png]-Another Fire vs Ice. I find him easier to vs because when I get MS quints and runes i can easily dodge brands pillar of flame. Brand = temporary burst and anivia=harrassing burst. ITs determined by level of skill. [img=champ/cassiopeia.png]- My my my. She is my main (1600 with cass) play her more than anivia because I get raped by cass whenever i vs her with anivia. She has so much harrassing power than anivia and trust me, if you miss ur Q you will probably have to recall. Two champions with pre-6 domination. However, cass doesn't have much escaping tool and whenever ur vsing her, have a warwick, alistar, pantheon or anyone that stops her from moving for a bit and u'll definitely win ur lane. This battle determines the jungler level of skill. [imgsmall=champ/fizz.png]- Fizz has to autoattack to farm like [imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png] so autoattack to harrass as well as Q. Sit back, harrass and fizz can't do anything. [imgsmall=champ/karthus.png]- Another battle that determines skill level. Karthus is very easy to kill if you're jungler ganks mid a shit load. But its so hard because a good karthus farms well and harrasses with Q and actually doesnt push. So make sure u kill karthus at least once before 6. Bootsx3 are a way to go. [imgsmall=champ/kassadin.png] - He's strong in teamfights and gank other lanes well. But laning I destroy him. Let him silence you, let him use E on you, just let him do it, then hes to back out. Show him whos boss after ur silence finishes!! [imgsmall=champ/kennen.png] - You can't kill a kennen. Hes too stronk in teamfights and ganks. Only way to stop his ult is to wall him before he can get to you. Or flash of course. Play passive in lane, land ur Q well follow up by an E, to intimidate him to play passively. Its better in general to play another champion if you're vsing kennen. But this also determines ur skill level. [imgsmall=champ/leblanc.png] - She's a strong burst and can one hit you. Just make sure u have better farm than her and rush a [imgsmall=items/negatron-cloak.png] and [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png] itll make her cry. [imgsmall=champ/sion.png] - AP sion is like anivia but easier and has more burst. but your Q is longer than his, so in order to pop his shield land ur Q follow up by an E. Don't autoattack him too much though. His passive makes him so tanky and minions would hurt you alot. Most sion players like myself get boot of mobility for ganking and harrassing etc and its definitely hard to land ur Q on him. Onl way to do that is auto attack him once, and his boot enhance will go down to 2. [imgsmall=champ/swain.png] - I love vsing swain in pre 6, if he walks up to you to land his E, just auto attack him few times and land ur Q. Most swain go aggro early game and a smart anivia stuns him while minions attack. Level 6 when both of you have blues, its a neutral state but anivia will outburst swains ult when you ignite him. [imgsmall=champ/twistedfate.png] - Twisted fate is extremely weak early game so make sure you dominate him before he becomes OP mid/end game. get boots of speed x3 pots. Make him recall alot [imgsmall=champ/veigar.png] - I hate this little guy. Bursts any AP carry end game, dont let him farm his Q and pre 6 you will destroy him easily even without blues. [imgsmall=champ/viktor.png] - I find trouble vsing him because his laser beam is as long as my Q. And his Q can reduce my E's chilled damage so much. Its a passive lane. [imgsmall=champ/vladimir.png] - Another passive lane, but you will outnuke his sustain eventually when you have blues. Determines skill level here.

Anivia has a great passive in early game but its no good when theres a chance where anyone can sit there autoatking till you die. So keep in mind there is always limitation when you turn into egg. The best idea in early game is to conserve mana. By this try not to last hit with [img=skills/anivia/e.png] and try not waste your [img=skills/anivia/q.png] every time its up. The main weakness for anivia is that shes vulnerable after she uses her [img=skills/anivia/q.png]. See what most anivias do is they press Q then they move forward to get [img=skills/anivia/e.png] ready. If they didnt do that then the chill would go off as the opponent have the voluntary reaction on moving back after they've been stunned. So pretty much if you miss your Q instead you would be running away while the enemy is hurting you! then a harrassing champion like [imgsmall=champ/cassiopeia.png] can wreck you. Weakness: Escapes: anivia has almost no way to escape a gank early game if you burn your flash and pro junglers will gank you everytime :(. Even though you have your egg, you can't rely on it unless its in turret range. The egg early has the same health as anivia early game but reduced armor and magic resist. NOT GOOD AT ALL. And I guarantee you will have voluntary reaction on less harrass and minion starved when your eggs on cooldown. Mobility: Yes everyone knows this and this is why i get movement speed quints. IT REALLY HELPS.

This is where Anivia really shines. If you get blues mid game, thank your jungler for being so considerate because now you'll be CONSTANTLY harrassing them and holy cow you will realise how angry your opponent is gonna be. As soon as your opponent gets in [img=skills/anivia/r.png] pop up your E. It'll make em b so the farm is all yours. Be careful with ganks if you're pushing. Ward both sides, or ward one and stick to that side. Even though you have your blues, it doesn't mean you're gonna try pushing. You're using it to harrass the opponent. Now that you have your lvl1 wall you got at lvl 4, its time to make it useful. First: Wall behind enemy champion follow up by [img=skills/anivia/r.png] for slower movement. Opponent will only have two directions to go in a slowed movement: up or down (left or right from perspective view) Bingo, thats where you aim your [img=skills/anivia/q.png] then finish it up with [img=skills/anivia/e.png]. You can also use your wall to reveal side bushes to stop em from ganking you.

Anivia should never initiate in team fights but you can wall to set up the teamfight. Still that doesnt mean you initiate at all! Try put your [img=skills/anivia/r.png] on a spot where most of em will be standing on. For example while they're baron, malphite or leona or any aoe spells that stops em from moving you can pop up your [img=skills/anivia/r.png] dealing 200dmg each second followed up by your [img=skills/anivia/q.png][img=skills/anivia/e.png] If they target you, you have your egg backed up, they wont just sit there attacking while theyre being attacked so its a great advantage! In conclusion: If you can manage to get them inside ur R for more than 4 seconds you're guaranteed to win a teamfight.

Thank you for reading my guide on anivia. It's a real shame I can't post any pics because I don't have imageshack -_- but if you would like to know or ask me a question, why not add me on LoL? :) that'll be the quickest way to interpret what im trying to say on this guide.
