Hi. I'm Heartbeat, from the formerly Team MRN. I'm also a high-ELO ranked player, who has three accounts in diamond 1 currently. I've played three roles competitively (mid/ad/support) and i consider myself to be a very versatile player with a good understanding of this game. u can follows me on twitter : @HeartbeatLoL or twitch stream: [imgext=] Soraka is deemed by many to be a 'dull' support because she is not a playmaker catch support such as thresh or blitzcrank. However, she works behind the team and becomes a pillar for the team and she is often given no credit for saving teammates across the map or being able to silence targets so that they can't escape. Let's talk more closely about soraka. pros: [.]Unmatched sustain in lane with [imgsmall=skills/soraka/w.png][imgsmall=skills/soraka/e.png] [.]incredibly strong level 1 using [imgsmall=skills/soraka/q.png] [.]brings Global spell heal [imgsmall=skills/soraka/r.png] [.]offer's additional MR aura to your team [.]Fairly strong against poke [.]fairly strong with poke (because you give a lot of free mana) [.]really long silence (2.5 seconds max level) [imgsmall=skills/soraka/e.png] cons: [.]extremely squishy / not mobile [.]does not bring any hard CC [.]very vulnerable when warding/clearing wards with oracles

Let's talk about which popular AD's are good/bad in lane with a soraka. - Both of you guys have ranged harass in lane, and your infuse lets the caitlyn spam her piiltover peacemaker a lot more times. A very good lane, but you have to play aggressive with caitlyn because laning phase is where caitlyn does best. - Corki is notorious for having mana problems. Soraka is extremely strong with corki because the MR shred from your starcall lets corki do more magic damage with his Q and R, all the while giving him an easier time with mana problems. - man, draven is op - Similar to Corki, ezreal uses a lot of mana and soraka can help with that. Ezreal can play both aggressive and defnsive really well, so that meshes well with soraka. - This is one of the strongest lane partnerse with soraka. Your armor/mr buff stacks on top of Graves's armor/mr buff from his passive, making him a STUPIDLY TANKY ad carry right from level 1. Not only that, infuse lets the graves just spam buckshot forever. Graves soraka is one of my favorite lane duos! - This lane is just whatever. Trist isn't too mana intensive so you can use your infuse to harass more often. The only time picking soraka shines in lane is if trist decides to jump into the enemy bot lane, in which you can heal+armor buff on him so he takes less damage. And remember, shreding MR will make Trist's explosive shot do more damage. - Varus is an incredibly lane dominant champion, and soraka can help you keep that lead. I recommend the varus to max Q over E with soraka, and spam that long range nuke with the infinite mana sustain. :^) - I personally don't like this duo. People say soraka can just sustain vayne's weak laning phase, but I feel like picking soraka makes the lane even more passive and you two can't achieve much together. If the vayne is good and know how to trade earlier levels, which is... pretty rare, yes you can work this lane out and you can trade but it needs coordination.

You should know before the game starts if you can play aggressive in earlier levels or not. Think about the match up, and don't be stupid. Say if you're going against a Thresh/Draven you probably shouldn't be trying to trade against a lane like that. Try your best to be passive aggressive against stronger lanes, which means play passive until they want to trade, and then throw that armor buff/heal on your carry and trade while infusing the AD carry. This will let you win most trades. You always want to look out for an AD when he decides to go in when your heal is on cooldown, so it helps to let him know when your cooldown is almost back up. Essentially it's best to trade with your heal so the armor buff isn't wasted but if you guys ended up doing a bad trade, you should be using your heal on cooldown to try and get your AD back up and healthy. The biggest thing about soraka is that you should pay extra attention to your positioning. Against ganks and flash+ability initiates soraka is extremely vulnerable so if you feel like there's any chance that the jungler is coming you should already be in a position to be free of those catches, yet still in the scene somewhere close to your AD to stay relevant. Falling behind early game is key for soraka, otherwise you'll find yourself being in that boring soraka heal/mana bot as every takes her to be.

After you have your ultimate, you should always be watching both the map and your ally hp bars so that you can throw out your global heal when needed. Being experienced with soraka will let you decide if they will still die with your ult, or not so you have to decide that. Soraka is really really vulnerable when going to dark places to ward by herself so i recommend bringing another person, preferably the jungler to ward deeper and dangerous places. My biggest tip for soraka mid game is to always be in a safe position! positioning is key and i see a LOT of sorakas in solo queue just get caught over and over again. Always repeat after yourself if you think you are vulnerable right then. In teamfights you should be using your silence to someone important, if you're not holding it to stop a channeling/supress ability (examples: fiddle ult, urgot ult, ww ult). If you're AD is good with positioning, your heal is actually really strong to use on your tank, so go ahead and do that if you feel like your AD won't need the heal. Yes, you want to be using your starcall but don't compromise your positioning to hit more targets. If anything you should be in a safe place somewhere close to your AD carry so that you can just use your starcall if you can. Once again, positioning is key!

[twitch][/twitch] Had an extremely good laning phase with my Caitlyn, using that early game laning synergy to work! however we ended up getting camped mid game by jungler + tf and fell a bit behind from our lead. Nonetheless our team worked well and I was able to provide really good heals/silences in teamfights to assist the win! I'm sad none of my ultimates were able to help out the teemo from dying though :<

hope you guys like my soraka guide, it's a fun support in lane with strong lane partners, and being able to clutch heal your teammates are really really satisfying. give it a try! :^) remember to follow me on twitter: @HeartbeatLoL and subscribe to my stream at : to learn how to play thresh and other champions tune in to my stream, i often do commentary and teach how to get better at the game, as well as me trying to get better myself. this is my stream schedule! weekdays (mondays~fridays) 12PST ~ 6PST and i stream on weekends on random times :p but DO tune in on weekdays! ^~^
