====THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS GUIDE, PLEASE BE PATIENT==== Hey guys, I'm Moneymuffins and I'll be writing out a guide on how to play the reworked Cassiopeia (as of 4.21 at least, I hadn't played her much before now) and I'll be attempting to show you why Cassiopeia is definitely still on the list of contenders for the best mid lane champion, despite her drawbacks. Here is my recent ranked soloqueue games with her (in mid platinum): Pros: + Can self-sustain her mana by last hitting with her E, it restores the ability's mana cost and also restores an extra 3% of Cassiopeia's maximum mana. + Can self-sustain her health upon hitting 100 stacks of her passive, and it costs absolutely nothing to heal up if you last hit with her E. + Can kite her enemies with her different forms of CC and health restoration from her passive, particularly after completing Rylai's Crystal Sceptor. + Can pull off a five-man stun if her ultimate is timed correctly. + Can quickly shred down the enemy's front line tanks, so it's often better to peel for her other carries. Cons: - No escape ability means that you'll often be targeted by the enemy jungler. - Her damage is decent early game but it only starts to really spike in the mid - late game, she is a scaling champion. - If she has no tanks for her front line she can struggle to pick off targets since she will likely be focused. - When ahead Cassiopeia is often the number one target for the entire of the enemy team's CC, positioning is very important when playing her. - Struggles to last hit under tower early game so she is prone to enemy mid laners hard pushing. Update List: (02/01/2015): Guide first created but not yet published, happy new year! (03/01/2015): Added and Updated all sections up to Champion Match-Ups.
Take a point in Q at level 1 so that you can poke and also get your passive stacking right from level one, CS'ing shouldn't be difficult enough at level 1 to warrant you taking E first. I always max E first as its my primary source of damage and burst, great for poking your enemy laner down and is much easier to land since it's a targeted spell so the damage is reliable whereas the damage from her Q is not since you are not guaranteed to hit it. Max Q second for the damage increase and cooldown decrease and max W last since the damage does not scale very well and it is only useful for its slow.
