Note: Recently revamped Sup bois. I'm CRUEL42 and I'd like to share my interpretation on Yorick. I am a 2k rated player and I've tried Yorick out pre and post buff. I just want to rush this out there so people can consider different build options on him. Yorick [img=champ/yorick.png] I build Yorick tanky dps for a top lane solo. As a tank, he provides an AOE slow, plus a great ultimate for team fights. Him and his ghouls can also soak a fair amount of damage, while dealing out a decent amount himself. As a laner, his harass is exceptional, and his sustain is decent. All in all, Yorick is a pretty viable pick once people get over the stigma. SPECIAL NOTE ON YORICK'S GHOULS: While they don't give exp or gold to opposing champs when slain, they still count as creeps. That means [imgsmall=champ/nasus.png]Nasus still gets a bonus for his Siphoning Strike and [imgsmall=champ/chogath.png]Cho'gath still regens on his passive when killing your ghouls. Keep that in mind when facing champs who receive bonuses off killing creep. Also ghouls draw tower agro. NOTE #2: Yorick's ghouls pops [imgsmall=champ/shaco.png]Shaco's boxes and [imgsmall=champ/teemo.png]Teemo's mush. So you can use your [imgsmall=skills/yorick/w.png] to check and clear them out. Real overpowered >.> NOTABLE MATCHUPS: [img=champ/garen.png]: Yorick fucks this kid up pretty hard.

[highlight]Reds:[/highlight] Flat AD. Helps out his ghouls auto attack. Scales well on his [imgsmall=skills/yorick/e.png] and [imgsmall=skills/yorick/q.png] Solid Alternative: Armor Pen. Let's him hit harder. [highlight]Yellows:[/highlight] Dodge. Scales very well into late game and will help against melee bruisers in lane. [highlight]Blues:[/highlight] Flat MR, withstand harass in lane. Can also use scaling MR, or even cooldown reduction. [highlight]Quints:[/highlight] Flat AD. Best in slot. Alternatives: Health. Good for early fights and such. Also increases health on ghouls.

[title][img=skills/yorick/p.png] Passive: Unholy Covenant[/title] [number]Yorick's basic attacks deal 5% more damage and Yorick takes 5% reduced damage for each summon that is active. Meanwhile, Yorick's ghouls have 35% of Yorick's Attack Damage and Health. [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Makes you tougher when you spam abilities. During team fights, get as many ghouls as you can on the field and just keep spamming throughout the fight. You will become incredibly hard to kill and dish out some surprising damage. It also makes building Health and Attack Damage on Yorick a priority, as you get passive damage reduction and health + damage helps buff your ghouls. [title][img=skills/yorick/q.png] Q: Omen of War[/title] [number]Yorick's next attack will deal 30/35/40/45/50 (+100% of attack damage) physical damage and summon a Spectral Ghoul for up to 5 seconds. The Spectral Ghoul deals 8/16/24/32/40 additional damage per hit and moves 15/20/25/30/35% faster. While the ghoul is active, Yorick moves 15/20/25/30/35% faster as well. Cooldown 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 seconds Cost 40 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A decent spell, buffs your next auto attack and helps you chase or escape from enemies. It also resets your attack timer, so factor that in when attacking. Not very useful in lane as opponents tend to steer clear of you. [title][img=skills/yorick/w.png] W: Omen of Pestilence[/title] [number]Yorick summons a Decaying Ghoul that arrives with a violent explosion, dealing 60/95/130/165/200 (+100% of ability power) magic damage and slowing nearby enemies by 20/25/30/35/40% for 1.5 seconds. While the Decaying Ghoul remains alive, nearby enemies continue to be slowed by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for up to 5 seconds. Cooldown 12 seconds Cost 40/45/50/55/60 mana Range 500[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] AOE damage + slow. Use this as a main source of harass as it has the longest range and does a fair amount of damage. You can also use it to slow opponents and gankers. During team fights, try to hit as many opponents as possible. Now with Ability power ratio instead of attack damage. [title][img=skills/yorick/e.png] E: Omen of Famine[/title] [number]Yorick deals 55/85/115/145/175 (+100% of attack damage) magic damage and heals for up to 50% of the damage dealt. A Ravenous Ghoul is summoned behind his target, which heals Yorick for the damage it deals and lasts up to 5 seconds. Cooldown 10/9/8/7/6 seconds Cost 55/60/65/70/75 mana Range 500[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Your sustain ability. Another ranged ability, use in conjunction with your W for harassment. Spam in lane to keep your HP up. [title][img=skills/yorick/r.png] R: Omen of Death[/title] [number]Yorick conjures a revenant in the image of a target allied champion. Revenants deal 50/75/100% of target ally's Attack Damage. If his ally dies while its revenant is alive, the revenant sacrifices itself to reanimate them. Cooldown 120/105/90 seconds Cost 100 mana Range 700[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A real good ulti. Use it on yourself for a little bit of extra DPS in 1v1 fights. Where it excels is in teamfights. The target of your ulti should always be your DPS (ranged AD or DPS jungler), and you should always use it when the brawling begins. You might not have a chance once the CC starts flying, and the Revenant does a fair amount of damage by itself even if the target doesn't die in 5 seconds.

[img=skills/yorick/w.png][img=skills/yorick/e.png][img=skills/yorick/q.png][img=skills/yorick/e.png][img=skills/yorick/e.png][img=skills/yorick/r.png] Max: [img=skills/yorick/r.png]->[imgsmall=skills/yorick/e.png]->[imgsmall=skills/yorick/w.png]->[imgsmall=skills/yorick/q.png] W is very useful for lvl 1 fights. For lvl 1-3, you want to get all your ghouls, so you can immediately brawl with your lane opponent. Your ultimate should always be skilled whenever possible. Since the change to the AP ratio on Yorick's W, E is now much better to lvl as the Damage Output will quickly outpace that of W. The CD reduction is also nice.

[img=items/catalyst-the-protector.png] instead of [img=items/sheen.png] or [img=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png] "But... but everybody builds either Tear or Sheen. What's the point of Catalyst if it doesn't boost damage or solve mana issues?" Catalyst solves your mana issues better than Tear, it simply gives all the sustain you need in lane. Also, the early health lets you brawl and bully better than Sheen. It simply is a better choice for laning purposes. "But... but Tear builds into Manumune. Isn't that a great AD item for spam ability champs?" No. No it is not. Simply not worth the cost for its stats. [img=items/phage.png] Nice health, nice damage, nice slow, good price. What's not to love? Great mid tier item that you can hold off upgrading. [img=items/atmas-impaler.png] "You don't build Warmog's? Why are you building Atma's?" Contrary to popular belief the recipe for Atma's Impaler does not include Warmog's. You can build it without building ridiculously expensive HP items. My build includes a few mid tier HP items that give enough health for Atma's to be worth it. [img=items/spirit-visage.png] More health, CD reduction, MR, and the passive boosts the heal on your E. Another solid, cheap tank choice. [img=items/randuins-omen.png] This is an excellent item vs AD heavy comps and I usually will get this instead of spirit visage if the situation calls for it. [img=items/frozen-mallet.png] Ton of health, ton of slow. Basically adds more CC, an area Yorick really lacks in. Also helps amp the bonus on Atma's. [img=items/phantom-dancer.png] Frozen Mallet + Phantom Dancer. Probably your games will never last long enough to realize this combination, but when it happens, hilarity ensues. [img=items/trinity-force.png] Gives a fun filled variety of good stats, all of which are now very good on Yorick. [img=items/banshees-veil.png] Late game, turn [imgsmall=items/catalyst-the-protector.png] into a b-veil. It helps Yorick bullrush opposing carries much easier.

Focus on last hitting and zoning your opponent off creep. Yorick is a bully in lane, take advantage of that. [img=skills/yorick/w.png]+[img=skills/yorick/e.png] Your harassment combo. Use whenever your opponent looks like he wants a piece of that tasty Exp and Gold. Follow up with [imgsmall=skills/yorick/q.png] if he is truly persistent. Don't be afraid to brawl. Yorick wins most 1v1 with his ghouls. Focus on solidifying a solid Creep Score and Exp advantage on your opponent in the Early Game. Yorick really doesn't possess that burst required to actually kill his lane opponent if he's smart. Focus instead on solidifying gold advantages and zoning. Don't forget to ward gank paths. Grab [imgsmall=items/catalyst-the-protector.png] ASAP. This item will win you the lane. Note: Ghouls work better en masse. Wait for your CD on your W so you can have 2 ghouls on the field at once. It minimizes your mana consumption and maximizes harassment damage.

Continue to farm as much as possible and acquire those mid tier items ([imgsmall=items/phage.png]+[imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png]). Ward constantly and push hard to put as much pressure as possible on your lane opponent. Help at Dragon and gank other lanes if necessary. If your team is not grouping up, focus on taking that tower.

Team fight stage. Work with your team on whatever objectives they want to pursue, whether that be invasion, baron, pushes, split pushes, or such. Remember to keep buying wards and elixirs[imgsmall=items/elixir-of-fortitude.png] if you have the money. If you anticipate a team fight, an elixir can make or break a game. Don't get picked off by yourself, push lanes quickly, and don't base too often when your team needs you.

Yorick's role in a team fight is a TANK. Soak damage, soak CC, CC your opponents, ult your phys carry, and try to shovel whoever you can. Spam your ghouls whenever they come up. Yorick is a decent initiator, just run up to a team and W whoever you can and hope your team can follow up. Remember to use Elixirs, Item Actives, and your summoners. [highlight]NOTES ABOUT[/highlight] [img=skills/yorick/r.png] This skill was incredibly misunderstood when Yorick was first released and still generates some confusion on how exactly it works. I'll try to explain it myself. [highlight]Activation:[/highlight] [.]A "revenant" of target champion is spawned. This is basically the same as a [imgsmall=champ/mordekaiser.png]Mord Ghost. [.]You can control it as a Pet. [.]It will auto attack but cannot use abilities. [.]It possesses a reduced amount of health than the target, but does not decay over time. [.]The target has a sort of "cross" underneath them and looks a bit different. The "revenant" looks like a dark ghost. [highlight]If the "revenant" dies:[/highlight] [.]The ultimate ends. [.]If the target dies after the revenant, it is not revived. [highlight]If the target dies while the "revenant" is still alive:[/highlight] [.]The target is revived for a short duration, the "revenant" dies immediately. [.]The target may use abilities and auto-attack. [.]The target then falls permanently at the end of the ultimate. [.]Like a [imgsmall=champ/zilean.png]Zilean Ult only you stay dead. Yorick's ultimate applies after Guardian Angel and Zilean Ult.
