[highlight]The Runes I use for Nocturne![/highlight] [imgext=] [highlight]Runes I use:[/highlight] [number]Marks:[/number] [.] "Greater Mark of Alacrity" Gives you more attack-speed that I think you need for clearing things faster in jungle and basicly to stack up with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] and Masteries. [.] "Greater Mark of Desolation" Gives you Armorpenetration. Pretty much improves your damage, stacks with your masteries. [number]Seals:[/number] [.] "Greater Seal of Resilience" Gives you armor. to take lesser damage upon fights and loosing lesser health clearing jungle. I used to have "attack-speed seals" before, but switched to these because i could see it improved my early-game by alot. [number]Glyphs:[/number] [.] "Greater Glyph of Alacrity" Gives you attack-speed. I dont think Magic Reist or Magic resist should be stronger on Nocturne since he gotta focus more on damage than tankyness. [number]Quintessence:[/number] [.] "Greater Quintessence of Strength" Gives you attackdamage. I think Nocturne also need this extra AD to clear jungle faster and deal more damage. Since armor-penetration won't finish jungle much faster and neither attack speed (since you dont need more that you already have compared to AD). Will these Runes stacked with Masteries give you +10 AD from lvl 1. [number]Other Possible Runes for Nocturne:[/number] [.] "Greater Seal of Alacrity" What I used to use before I used "Armor seals". [.] "Greater Mark og Strength" Improves your attack-damage, which can be very usefull to clear jungle faster and basicly just damage. Not any bad choice. [.] "Greater Quintessence of Desolation" Improves your damage by penetrade their armor is also very good, can't complain about that.

[title][img=skills/nocturne/p.png] Passive: Umbra Blades[/title] [number]Every 10 seconds, Nocturne's next attack strikes surrounding enemies for 120% physical damage and heals himself for 15/20/25 per target hit. Nocturne's basic attacks reduce this cooldown by 1 second.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Very strong passive. Pretty much the reason why Nocturne is good at clearing jungle and why he scales so good with attack-speed! A good way to use it late is when you're low at health, go hit as many creeps as possible with this passive and BOOM 20% of hp+ ! (You can see I do it also a lot in the vidios) This passive never falls off, still very usefull late-game. Use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] to improve the damage from this, whatch my video's, I do it all the time. [title][img=skills/nocturne/q.png] Q: Duskbringer[/title] [number]Nocturne throws a shadow blade which deals 60/105/150/195/240 (+75% attack damage) physical damage and leaves a Dusk Trail for 5 seconds. Enemy champions hit also leave a Dusk Trail. While on the trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and gains 15/20/25/30/35% Movement Speed and 15/25/35/45/55 Attack Damage. Cooldown 10 seconds Cost 60/65/70/75/80 mana Range 750[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] [highlight]I think this skill is way to under-rated. [/highlight] [.] This can be what you need to finish a kill upon early gangks. [.] Deals around 200% off Nocturnes basic attack. [.] NEVER falls off late game. [.] When you stand on this do you improve your damage by way to much, very OP. [.] Almost no CD compared to what it do's. [title][img=skills/nocturne/w.png] W: Shroud of Darkness[/title] [number]Passive: Nocturne has 20/25/30/35/40% bonus Attack Speed. Active: Nocturne creates a magical barrier for 2 seconds, which blocks the next enemy ability. If an ability is blocked by the shield, Nocturne's passive Attack Speed bonus doubles for 5 seconds. Cooldown 20/18/16/14/12 Cost 50 mana[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] A pretty cool spell. Even though it ain't doing so much do's it improve your gameplay by alot. Everything you do is like getting affected by this spell. [.] Extra early attack-speed, improves every time you upgrade the spell. [.] Blocks an enemy spell which can do a lot in teamfights such as avoid Stun, silence, snare even a high amount of damage which can make tho whole difference in a teamfight. [.] When you succeing blocking a spell you get the double amount of attack-speed for a short time, which is just a bonus for you. This spell is very strong but it depends really on how you use it! - Ofcourse there sometimes is "luck" involved when you use this spell, but 80% of succeing this skill is by being skilled egnough to use it right. I'll get back to this ability! [title][img=skills/nocturne/e.png] E: Unspeakable Horror[/title] [number]Nocturne plants a nightmare into his target's mind, dealing 50/100/150/200/250 (+100% ability power) magic damage over 2 seconds. If Nocturne stays within 465 range of the target for the full duration, the target becomes feared for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 second(s). Cooldown 15/14/13/12/11 seconds Cost 60/65/70/75/80 mana Range 425[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Pretty much the spell that make Nocturne able to gangk. It scales with AP, which you ain't gonna get no matter how the game go's, there is no item for Nocturne that gives him AP that is good for him in any situation. The way you use this spell right: - Teamfights: Use it on a target that you don't want to deal damage, it dosn't matter if it is a AD or AP. A target that would be stupid to fear would be a target like [imgsmall=champ/fiddlesticks.png] with ultimate activated, sure he will deal lesser damage as feared but when he already have ultimate activated do's he deal tons of damage no matter what, then I would rather fear their AD Carry or something like that. - Gangks: Upon gangks you just use it on the target you wanna catch to secure a kill. [title][img=skills/nocturne/r.png] R: Paranoia[/title] [number]Nocturne reduces the sight radius of all enemy champions and removes their ally vision for 4 seconds. While Paranoia is active, Nocturne can launch himself at an enemy champion, dealing 150/250/350 (+120% attack damage ) physical damage. Cooldown 160/130/100 seconds Cost 100 mana Range 2000/2750/3500[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ultimate is what I think one of the top 5 best ultimates so far, ofcourse every ultimate is strong, but I just wan't to point out that this ultimate is very strong in so many different situations. It can be used in so many ways: [.] Teamfights. We all tried it, you getting focus to the ground, but with this ultimate you can go a whole new way to their carry instantly and hug it. [.] Don't worry about Jarvan Ultimate in teamfights. [.] When you want to gangk a lane, but they brought ward and your ultimate is only rank 1 can you do a smart gangk from the lane. Stay out of their vision range and wait for them to do the mistake so you can engage (Works every lane) You can watch a lot of this stuff in the video's I've made in the Video chapter. Something you should know about this ultimate is that it feels kinda sucky at rank 1 since it have been nerfed, but as soon as you hit lvl 11 and get it rank two can you actually feel the extra 750 range. It's kinda the reason why I play Nocturne so much, I can't complain about this ultimate in any way, it's strong and even fun to use. Which is what I wan't from this game, without the fun I wouldn't play this game, which is the prima reason why I never play Lee Sin, Sivir, Graves and other way to overpowered champions (my opinion xD).

[highlight]The skill order I am using is pretty decent. [/highlight] I prefer that you only should get [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] rank 2 and then go for your [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] instead to improve your damage since upgrading [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] dosn't improve your gameplay that much. I useually [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] Because I'll clear my jungle path the fastest way. [highlight]If you get early counter-jungled or for another reason have to gangk faster do I: [/highlight] [number]Useually:[/number] [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] [number]If gangk level 2:[/number][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png]->[imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] You want be able to do an early gangk without your [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] or red buff unless your enemy is retarded or you for some reason got very lucky. You can watch the video's to get a better picture of what I mean with this Skill Order.

[center][title]Why is this something I need and in which situations?[/title][/center] [title]EARLY GOALS: [/title] [img=items/wriggles-lantern.png] [highlight]"Wriggle's Lantern"[/highlight] [.] This item is pretty much what you need to clear the jungle the fastest way. [.] The is two way so build this item from level one: [imgsmall=items/cloth-armor.png][imgsmall=items/health-potion5.png] or through [imgsmall=items/vampiric-scepter.png]. Cloth5 is pretty much what I use in Solo Que since no one are giving me any good leash these day, and Vampiric is for even premade or nice team-mates that actually gives a fuck about how you clear the jungle the best way. [.] Later on when you have done all items do you sell this and grab [imgsmall=items/the-bloodthirster.png] instead for higher damage. [img=items/the-brutalizer.png] "The Brutalizer" [.] I get brutalizer early on because I think you kinda need the damage to improve almost all of your abilities and ofcourse your damage. [.] The CD reduction also do kinda big since [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] have a pretty high CD. [title]BOOTS:[/title] [img=items/berserkers-greaves.png] [highlight]"Berserkers Greaves"[/highlight] [.] Improves your attack-speed which is very good for Noctourne to deal damage faster and prog his [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/p.png] faster. [.] These boots is for games that you have a lead on. [.] Very cheap boots (920g) [.] I buy these boots in like 40% of all my games. [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] [highlight]"Ninja Tabi"[/highlight] [.] I get these when I am against some hard physical damage. Ofcourse you can't know if you need these boots 100%, but I get these when I feel that their AD damage is pretty high and I need to be tanky som kinda way, but I don't need [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png]. [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] [highlight]"Mercury's Treads"[/highlight] [.] The Tenacity boots here is pretty strong, you get these if the enemies have a high amount of CC, you don't get these for the extra Magic Resist then you should rather grab [imgsmall=items/berserkers-greaves.png]. [title]CORE:[/title] [img=items/warmogs-armor.png] [highlight]"Warmogs Armor"[/highlight] [.] A really high amount of health, remember that more kills and assist you get your higher is the amount of health you get. [.] Ofcourse the main reason that you get this is to give yourself the highest amount of damage through [imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png]. Still I feel like you should get [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] in that case that you dominate. [img=items/frozen-mallet.png] [highlight]"Frozen Mallet"[/highlight] [.] Very strong item on Noctourne. [.] This item is for dominating, get this when you are ahead of your enemy and go [imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png] to improve your damage. [.] [imgsmall=items/phage.png] is a good item to hold while building other items, then you can upgrade it to Mallet later on. I do this alot, even when I behind is [imgsmall=items/phage.png] a really good item. [.] When you have this do's it means you can give red buff to your AD Carry without feeling bad because you can still slow. [.] On the other side is it a expensive item, so make sure you grab it when you need it and not before. [img=items/atmas-impaler.png] [highlight]"Atmas Impaler"[/highlight] [.] Very strong item, but can be risky if you buy it to early. [.] Works really good with health items such as [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png], [imgsmall=items/sunfire-cape.png] and [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png]. [.] I prefer you get atleast [imgsmall=items/giants-belt.png] before you build this item, since Nocturne also need some health. I mostly buy [imgsmall=items/chain-vest.png] then I go for [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png] or [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] and then I finish Atmas, but it can be done in many different games. Again, any game is different. [.] Improves your armor which also is really good especially in teamfights. [title]SITUATIONAL:[/title] [img=items/banshees-veil.png] [highlight]"Banshee's Veil"[/highlight] [.] Even though Nocturne have his [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] is this item still very usefull. [.] Think about it. Block 2 spells is even more gay than only block 1 spell. [.] The health and man you get from this item is also pretty "ok" since it isn't that hard to use all of Nocturne's mana in a teamfight and the HP is just good in all around (for being able to take more damage and to stack more damage up with [imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png]) [img=items/force-of-nature.png] [highlight]"Force of Nature"[/highlight] [.] Very strong item, I prefer you get this late game, since there are stronger items for Nocturne early on. [.] This item costs 2610g though which is pretty much early on so build this late-game against high magic damage. [.] Gives you also extra movement-speed which is very good on Nocturne. Stacked with the movement-speed from [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] will you almost be able to catch every champion. [.] The HealthRegen is just an extra bonus. Stacked with the regen from [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png] will you be very strong. [img=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png] [highlight]"Aegis of the Legion"[/highlight] [.] This item improves your tankyness, it's good to buy if you feel like you need upon fights and gangks, even dives. Works best when your support dosn't have it, but can still be usefull even though your support have it. [.] It's not so expensive which is what I like most about this item, it's a very good item when you are low at gold/CC/kills. [.] It supports your team-mates in fights. [.] When you are high on Gold should you go some other/more usefull items since this item only gives you a small amount of HP, Armor and Magic Resist. [.] I do prefer you grab it early, IF you even grab it, every game is different. [img=items/guardian-angel.png] [highlight]"Guardian Angel"[/highlight] [.] This item is very situational. It can sometimes save the game for you and Vice Versa. [.] It gives you alot of tankyness which always is good, but a little under 50% of the money you give for this item go's to the passive. This item is if you are getting cought in every team-fight, but sometimes it isn't the extra tankyness and passive you need. I most situations do you need something like [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] or [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png], that's were alot of people make the mistake and say "Oh, I'm dying alot. I'll get [imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png] to stop it", but what really happens is that you can be cuttet off two times instead of one, which makes no difference. So you got be sure when you get this item that it will change fights. [.] A good situation to buy this item is when you are the tank and you team got the damage. You get focused down to fast and your team got no oppertunities to get some damage out in fights before they get caught. Then you get this and you got a more tankyness and a second chance after they cut you off to get some damage on the enemy team, while your team also gets a chance to deal some damage too. [img=items/randuins-omen.png] [highlight]"Randuin's Omen"[/highlight] [.] This item is very strong, I don't think there are any stronger item that gives armor to this champion, since it offeres the armor, health, a little amount of CD Reduction and it's golden passive + activate which allows you to make the AD Carries cry and catch up with enemies that you useually wouldn't be able to catch up [.] The passive is also very usefull in teamfights. It can basicly in some situations screw up the enemies positions 100%. [img=items/sunfire-cape.png] [highlight]"Sunfire Cape"[/highlight] [.] I useually don't run this item in my build, but ofcourse it have the effect to be very usefull in some games. [.] It started by my friend's kept running this item at Nocturne, I tried to explain how there are so many other way more usefull items to Nocturne than this, but they kept their mind in this item was one of the most important items at Nocturne. I can tell you now that this item isn't the best item against AD for Nocturne, but actually everything the item offers is something usefull and you get it for a cheap amount of gold. I tried it out and I think that it can be very usefull for Nocturne in some situations were you try to catch up witht he enemies damage while being tanky. [img=items/quicksilver-sash.png] [highlight]"Quicksilver's Sash"[/highlight] [.] This item offers you Magic Resist and an activate to cut off all the curses you currently have on you. [.] This item can funny egnough be very strong against a team with a high amount of CC, but personally do I only get this item when it's the same Champion that keeps doing the same shit on me that I ain't able to stop. [.] This item combined with [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png], [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] and some other tankyness stuff, makes you the biggest bitch of all time against a powerfull CC team. [title]DAMAGE ITEMS:[/title] [img=items/last-whisper.png] [highlight]"Last Whisper"[/highlight] [.] Gives you very high damage, even against tanky guys. Since sometimes is the guy you have take down kinda tanky, then this item is what you need to cut him off. You can also buy this to be an asshole and dominate more that you already did. [.] Don't get this in bad situation, even though this item is really strong is it risky to get, since there can be so many other items that is way more important than this. [.] I useually never get's this item, but I have tryed it out and it seems to work out really great, but I still think that there is a lot way more important items, so I do not place this in a serious build. [.] This item is not that expensive compared to what it do's (2290g). [img=items/infinity-edge.png] [highlight]"Infinity Edge"[/highlight] [.] This item shows domination and high damage, but I'll prefer you get this item as one of the last item since this won't be egnough to take so much damage in teamfights were you useually get caught if you ain't focusing on being a little tanky. [.] This item combined with [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] are very strong. These two items and [imgsmall=items/atmas-impaler.png] should be all you need to cut the enemies off. [.] This item is very expensive so be sure that you need this when you buy it. I only prefer this when your team have the lead. [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png] [highlight]"The Bloodthirster"[/highlight] [.] This item is a very powerfull item, it gives you the highest amount of AD that an item can give you unless you have Atmas plus 5000+ HP. [.] I do always get this as the last possible item. I sell my Lantern and grab this item to get more damage, since Wriggles dosn't help you that much if you make it that far. [.] I don't see why you should get this earlier since there are more important items in that part of the game. [img=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] [highlight]"Youmuu's Ghostblade"[/highlight] [.] This a very, very good item combined with Nocturne. [.] Allows him to attack even faster than he already do's. [.] More crit chance, since Nocturne get's other items than improves his crit chance is it very good to improve it even more. [.] Gives you CD Reduction. Yeah, I don't need to explain why he needs that, think I wrote it in one of the other items. [.] Activate also improves your movementspeed which make it easier to charge up enemies and keep attacking them, like, they got NO chance to escape you. Also works the other way to get away from enemies. [.] Always use it in teamfights. To cut down people faster. [img=items/wits-end.png] [highlight]"Wit's End"[/highlight] [.] Extra damage to your attacks - OP! [.] We all love attack speed even tho Nocturne scales rly good with AD. [.] You don't buy this item for the magic resist. [img=items/oracles-elixir.png] [highlight]"Oracle's Elixir"[/highlight] [.] Oracle's Elixir is always a pain to the enemy-team, you can farm wards all day and screw up their vision, hopefully you know how important it is to have vision in this game. [.] I useually buy this item when I have a good score and feel safe enough to buy it. If not do the support hopefully grab it, but you have to understand that a support that keeps dying should use his gold on something else than 400 wasted gold. [center][title]Explanation for these items:[/title][/center] I belive these items are all he needs for every different situation, I've checked/tried almost everything except those items that dosn't make any sence to build on him anyway. And I think these items pretty much improves Nocturne's game-play the best way. People have told me that I should add [imgsmall=items/the-black-cleaver.png] and [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png] to my build, and I've tried it out and I can say that Trinity Force isn't doing that much for you except the base stats you need and sheen passive, but it gives you a way to small amount of all the things you need. Cleaver did I use way more time to find out if it was more usefull than those items I belive are the best for Nocturne and in which situation, I found out it not so suprisely is strong against targets with a high amount of armor, but it seems that compared to [imgsmall=items/last-whisper.png] is it pretty much shit since Nocturne dosn't need any more attack-speed at that point. I've choosed to make a Chapter about "Why do I not buy these items?" that you can find below.

[number]Before you get to the items should you know[/number] that I ain't just adding random items to this Chapter, I've actually seen some people around in SoloQue or/and in normals buying these items. I just wanna help people to find out that there are more usefull items for this champion and why it would be a shame to buy them. [img=items/frozen-heart.png] [highlight]"Frozen Heart"[/highlight] [.] This item is strong against champions with a high amount of attack-speed and physical-damage, but you ain't suposed to get this item since it is way to expensive when it comes to what stats it gives you. [.] The amount of mana this item gives you is a complete waste, since you don't need that much mana and there is so many other stat you need. [.] You can sure use the armor, CD Reduction and ofcourse the passive, but there are way more usefull items for Nocturne in this case. I think someone else should grab this item, even a support would be way more usefull with this item than you will if you don't have someone tanky dude that use mana on your team. [img=items/hexdrinker.png] [highlight]"Hexdrinker"[/highlight] [.] Gives you a way to small amount of attack damage compared to what you expect from 1800g. [.] Gives you a shitty amount of Magic Resist, I wouldn't say it changes that much. [.] The passive. Well, I can't deny that it can be usefull in some situations early game, but it gives you a shield that absorbs 300 Magic Damage and it stays for a maximum of 4 seconds, that means that in most situation will it be able to absorb 1-2 spells for magic damage only. I don't find that so usefull. [img=items/madreds-bloodrazor.png] [highlight]"Madred's Bloodrazor"[/highlight] [.] I believe that this item is way more useful for ranged champions that is for melee. I know it is a pretty strong item against very tanky champions, but I find those items I have added to the "Item Section" way more useful in every kind of situation you can also read why I mean were the different items fit in. [img=items/malady.png] [highlight]"Malady"[/highlight] [.] Cheap item. Gives you a great amount of attack speed, AP and the passive that deals 20 extra bonus magic damage for every attack and take some MR off your target (stacks up to 4 times). [.] The small amount of AP do you not need. [.] All in all do you need this item in lategame, and I don't wanna waste 1825g on a item I'll sell later unless I really need it like I need [imgsmall=items/wriggles-lantern.png], even through I maybe grab an OK amount of kills on this item will it not be worth it in the end. There are so many other items that are so much more usefull for a little higher amount of gold, that you also will need late-game. [img=items/phantom-dancer.png] [highlight]"Phantom Dancer"[/highlight] [.] The problem with this item is that it is almost 3k gold you spend on a high amount of attack-speed, High amount of Critical Chance and a high amount of movement-speed. [.] You don't need the attack speed, since you already solve the attack-speed problem with Nocturne's passivly high amount of attack-speed and some other items. [.] The critical chance you get from this item is hard to complain about, but it isn't worth it compared to it is pretty much the only stat you really need from this item. [.] The Movement-speed is only for catchup enemies and escape. You got items / abilities to solve that problem ([imgsmall=items/force-of-nature.png][imgsmall=items/phage.png][imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png][imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png][imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png]) and ([imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png]). [img=items/tiamat.png] [highlight]"Tiamat"[/highlight] [.] Gives you a good amount of attack damage. I actually find it as a usefull item early game, but it won't be worth it lategame. Like, you need to get the money back in kills to make this item worth it before selling it which I find kinda sad, then it's way more worth it to get one of the items from "Item Section". [img=items/trinity-force.png] [highlight]"Trinity Force"[/highlight] [.] Very expensive item. [.] Gives you a way to small amount of alot of things that you need. [.] The sheen passive is actually the only thing with this item that's really useful for you, but the reason why you don't need it that much and why you don't just get sheen alone is because your spells have way to much Cooldown early game before you get your CD Reduction items, and the sheen isn't worth to grab late. [img=items/the-black-cleaver.png] [highlight]"The Black Cleaver"[/highlight] [.] The reason why you don't get this item is because it shows no tankyness, this is to cut tanks off, but you have other item combo's to solve that. [.] You don't really need the attack speed. You want to focus more at the AD, Lifesteal and Critchance.

Nocturne is basicly a champion that are used to hunt and deal a high amount of damage to the enemies early game. He will not be that tanky early with this setup, but he will sure be able to deal a high amount of damagve through the whole game and still be tanky later on. [title]Matchups:[/title] [img=champ/alistar.png] [highlight]Alistar:[/highlight] [.] Early game will you be able to cut him off with no problem mainly because of [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png], your damage will be to high for him to do anything 1v1. [.] Later in should you be more carefull, since he got [imgsmall=skills/alistar/r.png] will he be able to survive a long time, so be prepared for his team-mates will be able to support him before you can cut him down. [.] He can put you in very bad positions. If there is a ability from him that you should try to avoid with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] should it be Alistars [imgsmall=skills/alistar/q.png] [img=champ/drmundo.png] [highlight]Dr. Mundo:[/highlight] [.] This champion will be stronger than you no matter what level, unless he get's cut off early. You won't be able to 1v1 him, mainly because of his high amount of damage he get's with [imgsmall=skills/drmundo/w.png] and [imgsmall=skills/drmundo/e.png]. [.] You can sure try to counter-jungle him when you see a good oppertunity, because you will be able to get away from him since you can avoid Mundo's [imgsmall=skills/drmundo/q.png] with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] and you also have [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] to boost your movementspeed and in very bad cases can you use [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] if it's off cd, unless you screwed (personally do I never counterjungle without flash unless I have team-mates around or unless I only am taking wraiths). [img=champ/amumu.png] [highlight]Amumu:[/highlight] [.] You can cut him off early game, try to avoid his [imgsmall=skills/amumu/q.png] as it is what dealing the second highest amount of damage of all his abilities. The reason why you shall try to avoid it is because it will be hard for you to avoid [imgsmall=skills/amumu/r.png] (unless you in a teamfight). You can sure beat him 1v1, you will need items though, since Amumu is a tanky champion with enough damage to cut you off unless you have a high amount of damage. The bad thing with him is that Amumu deals alot of AP damage to you and since you are getting armor because you are jungle will he actually be able to take you down with a little help from team-mates. [.] If you can invade his Blue Buff will he be 100% screwed over early game, and you will have a huge atvantage! [.] Your [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] won't have a high effect on Amumu because of his [imgsmall=skills/amumu/w.png]. [img=champ/fiddlesticks.png] [highlight]Fiddlesticks:[/highlight] [.] Very strong champion 1v1 early on, be carefull unless you have team-mates around. [.] You can cut him off later on, be carefull with his [imgsmall=skills/fiddlesticks/q.png]-[imgsmall=skills/fiddlesticks/e.png] combo through. What is the problem in this case is that you wan't to use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] to avoid his Drain, but since he will do the combo will you only be able to avoid the Fear, but you won't be able to get close to him because he will keep doing the combo unto he have defeated you when it comes to 1v1. [img=champ/leesin.png] [highlight]Lee Sin:[/highlight] [.] The chance for this champion will screw your over and try to counterjungle you is almost 100%. It will be hard for you to take him 1v1, don't even try to take him down unless you have people around. If he's counterjungling you do you have to call for help or counterjungle him meanwhile. [.] Lee Sin is a chmpion that survives alot by getting kills/assist from gangks. You will have alot of oppertunities to counterjungle him, so use it. [.] An early oracle is ofcourse always a very risky, but very smart desicion against him, because you'll be counterjungling alot, and they will be able to take you down in alot of situations when you are taking his buff so it's a very smart idea to use [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png] to make sure that you're safe. [img=champ/maokai.png] [highlight]Maokai:[/highlight] [.] You will be able to cut him off after level 4 if you are running the useual jungling-path. Try to avoid his [imgsmall=skills/maokai/q.png], he will useually use it right after [imgsmall=skills/maokai/w.png]. In 1v1 you avoid [imgsmall=skills/maokai/q.png], but if there is a chance that he have team-mate around do you avoid [imgsmall=skills/maokai/w.png] to avoid getting catched by snare. [.] It will be hard to counterjungle this guy because he is a very fast jungler and he can come around from anywhere because maokai use the [imgsmall=skills/maokai/e.png]-[imgsmall=skills/maokai/w.png] to get around in jungle when he have bluebuff, also look out for your own Blue-Buff because it will be a huge atvantage for Maokai when him and his AP Carry gets Blue. [img=champ/shaco.png] [highlight]Shaco:[/highlight] [.] You can take him 1v1, use your spells and he will get away with [imgsmall=skills/shaco/q.png], because they useually don't have any skills anyway. He will have alot more succes with gangking, if not, then you win the game. [.] Ward up you jungle, he will be trying to steal your jungle, don't let him do that, make sure both your buffs is taken before you gangk. Counterjungling things such as his wraiths won't have any big effect. [img=champ/shyvana.png] [highlight]Shyvana:[/highlight] [.] You can beat her early on, since your [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] will deal more that just an extra attack with the on-hit effect, but it will boost your attack damage by alot, her damage will not get close to yours unless there is a big difference between items. [.] She will be a little faster clearing the jungle mainly because she got her [imgsmall=skills/shyvana/w.png]. [img=champ/skarner.png] [highlight]Skarner:[/highlight] [.] You can easily beat this guy, unless you have done really bad, since you won't because you are using this guide and you're not mentally retarded (or are you?). [.] If you invade this guy ealy on and get both blue will you have a really huge atvatage, I would say that you should go for it in most situations. [img=champ/pantheon.png] [highlight]Pantheon:[/highlight] [.] It's hard to deal with Pantheon, his spear will take you down before you'll be able to. It's a good idea to 1v1 him when he's out of mana, but he's pretty tanky so he will maybe be able to hold out unto his team-mates are coming for help. [.] He will maybe have a better succes on gangks, since he will have easy to gangk from any position + he got the ultimate. [img=champ/rammus.png] [highlight]Rammus:[/highlight] [.] Early on will you be able to take him, counterjungling is affective against him, go for his wraiths and double golems and you will have an atvantage. [.] A good Rammus should be more succesfull on gangks since it's much easier. [.] Stealing his blue or red will totally screw him over since Rammus is only working because of those, look out for your own buffs though. [img=champ/udyr.png] [highlight]Udyr:[/highlight] [.] It depends alot on if he go's [imgsmall=skills/udyr/q.png] or [imgsmall=skills/udyr/r.png], Tiger will take you down, you'll be able to take down Phoenix stance Udyr. [.] You still have to watch out, he will be able to get away or catch you with [imgsmall=skills/udyr/e.png], you can use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] both ways. [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] can be used to stop his stun. [img=champ/warwick.png] [highlight]Warwick:[/highlight] [.] Warwick won't stand a chance against you early, later on it will depend on the early game. [.] When you first know that you gonna die to him will he be hard to escape from because of his [imgsmall=skills/warwick/e.png] and [imgsmall=skills/warwick/r.png]. [.] Later on do you have to use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] to stop his [imgsmall=skills/warwick/r.png] when he are useing it on your team-mates.

Nocturne is a strong jungler early game. Therefore is there many kind of routes, some of the routes include counterjungling since Nocturne is a strong jungle, but since I'm that kind of player that wants to secure not dying do I prefer you have Bot/mid or Top/Mid pushed up to get some assistance in case that you should in, in a fight that you can't deal with alone. [center][title]Jungle Path 1.[/title][/center] [highlight]It go's like this:[/highlight] [.] Wolfs: Make sure that your team deals some damage to the wolfs without steal any of them, you want this to clear them before blue spawn and to loose a lesser amount of HP. [.] Blue Buff: You want a good leash at this to clear jungle faster and to gangk faster. A shitty leash can force you to go base when you are at that part when you actually have a gangk oppertunity. [.] Wraiths [.] Double Golems [.] Red Buff [.] Wraiths [.] At this point do you have three optional choices: Go base, Gangk Bot or Mid, Go wolfs and gangk top. This is a safe route for you to secure most early gold without doing risky stuff, make sure red-buff is scouted up to 1:30. [center][imgext=][/center] [highlight]In case that something should be stolen for you are there many ways to solve that problem:[/highlight] [.] Early gangk [.] Counter jungling [.] Go base (This Incluse that you have Gold egnough to grab [imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png] and atleast one item from [imgsmall=items/wriggles-lantern.png]) [.] If one of the buffs get stolen do you even choose to counter jungle or make your team invade in there jungle if possible since you need both buffs early game. [highlight]What do you do upon invades?[/highlight] [.] Leave the place and start a new path from the red buff area and to their blue, you will try to invade their blue with bot and mid lane to make sure you don't get caught. [.] Your team fight them. You need some good positions, 100% of your team must be in the area. You have to make sure that your team are knowing that you are doing this. Since Nocturne is a strong level 1 fighter is there a big chance of winning. To be honest do I in most situations leave it and go the other path. [center][title]Jungle Path 2.[/title][/center] This path gives you more gangking opportunities. If you don't kill at gangks or make the enemy go base is it kinda wasted time, so maybe it's worth it, maybe it's not. I just want you to know that there also is a risk that you will be counterjungle if you don't have some team-mates that have warded for you. I don't believe this is a good jungle path for SoloQue, but I believe it's pretty smart in premade. I wan't you to know that this path ONLY WORKS against certain champions, the enemy jungle have to start at red area. You can also start with blue and go for their red, as it is with almost every early counterjungling do you need pressure from lanes. [highlight]It go's like this:[/highlight] [.] Wraiths: some damage from your team-mates would be pretty usefull. Remember that you also need someone to scout/ward the blue-buff area. [.] Red Buff: Get a pull on that and you should be fine. Better leash = Lesser lost HP and faster done. [.] Gangk (Top or Mid) or (Mid or Bot). [.] If their blue is up do you steal it. You can go to your jungle path Double Golems -> Wraiths -> Wolfs -> Blue Buff -> Gangk. Make sure your Blue Buff don't get stealed, get your team-mates to help you. [center][imgext=][/center] [highlight]Somehow do's the enemy succes in stealing your shit?[/highlight] [.] You don't wanna waste time on gangks that dosn't mean anything to the game. [.] You can go base and go farm jungle, just clear it. Then you can gangk or try out stealing the enemy-jungler's jungle. It's a good idea to have [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] up when you are counterjungling in case that you have to get out fast or over walls. [center][title]Jungle Path 3.[/title][/center] I do not prefer useing this route, but sometimes it can help your team getting a good start on the game. You'll have to use your skill points like this: [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png][imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]. If you don't get a kill at the first gangk will it get you a little behind from the start which would be very sad, so I prefer that you do it when you got a top-lane with some CC to get a bigger chance in getting the kill. [highlight]The Route go's like this:[/highlight] [.] Wolfs: (Again. Good leash help alot.) [.] Blue Buff: A good leash also gives you a better chance in jungle. [.] Gangk Top or Bot: Better get a kill here. [.] At this point do you have a choice to make. If you got a kill do I prefer you go base and get item/items and go clear your red area. If not can you either go his jungle and kill him with your toplaner, mid or both to get get the money back you lost and come back in the game. [.] From here should it be pretty easy what to do. Clear your jungle, gangk and maybe counterjungle if there is a chance for that. [center][imgext=][/center] At this route do you also get your top lane or botlane to look out for invades at red area, should your jungle should not be stolen when you come to the red area. [title]EXPLANATION FOR THESE PATHS[/title] These are the paths that I useually run when I play Nocturne. You do self decide which paths you run. You can sure try out new paths if it can work out for you. But these paths are my preferred (most runned). To be honest have I 90% of the times I have played Nocturne, choosed the 1. Path, since I'm that kind of player that wan't to play very safe and do nothing wrong/Risky shit. If some of the paths dosn't work for you are you doing something wrong or misunderstood something, because I can tell you that I have tried out all of these paths in Soloque and they work out well egnough. If you got any questions about the jungle paths or anything else are you welcome to leave a question in the "comment section".

Keeping the timer on objectives/dragon and Nashor can give you a good atvantage, I useually forget to do it because I am bad at the game. I've done it sometimes in 5v5 premade Ranked and ESL games. [.] [highlight]Nashor timer:[/highlight] 7 Minutes. [.] [highlight]Dragon:[/highlight] 6 Minutes. [.] [highlight](Objectives) Blue Buff/Red Buff:[/highlight] 5 Minutes. [.] [highlight]Normal cambs (Everything else):[/highlight] 1 minut, can be pretty smart to have timer on them doing the first jungle Path + gangks.

[highlight]How to use smite:[/highlight] Make sure to use your Smite as soon as the target is low enough health so that it isn't stolen from you. This is most important for securing Baron and Dragon unless you like your team being angry with you. Below is a helpful chart that lists the damage Smite deals per level. [center][imgext=][/center]

Something you should do as a jungler, is that keep up your vision. Vision can be very important. Vision can stop the enmy from taking your objectives and maybe offer your a kill. It's also helping your team-mates against gangks. You might say that "It isn't that important to keep up your vision, because your a jungler, your gold income is lower than the solo-laners and then it's pretty stupid to spending gold on wards", but your wrong. Warding is very important no matter which jungler you are playing do you always keep up your wards. I don't say that you have to spend 40% of all your income at wards, but you can atleast buy 1-2 [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] or in some cases [imgsmall=items/vision-ward.png] every time you are going back. Remember, wards is in most cases more important than items. [center][highlight]Here is some good spots to ward[/highlight][/center] [center][imgext=][/center] [.] [number]These spots is what I useually place my wards, it depends much on were I am, were I am going and were you think they will go in.[/number] [.] [number]These spots will also help your laners.[/number] [.] [number]You can ofcourse also ward your or their objectives. It depends on were you wan't to go and when.[/number] [.] I know I have switched the colors, it's my fault, just ignore that mistake. I'am playing at color-blind mode so I'm blue anyway.

The combo you are making depends 100% on the situation, but it's really important that you know when to cast what, so that's why I made this chapter. I prefer that you do read this since this is kinda important, 'my opinion'. If you are someone that knows better than me can you just skip this, 'cause I don't know better than this. [highlight]Step 1.[/highlight] Before we start this do I wan't you to key-bind [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] to smart-cast if you are a player that useually plays with smart-cast or wanna try this do I prefer you got for it since it works out really great for some people, I ain't doing it myself because I suck at this game though. [highlight]Step 2.[/highlight] When you are engaging, gangking or joining a team-fight is it very important where you engage from, your position and do you use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] or not. [.] [number]Gangking:[/number] When you are gangking a lane is important that you get to the target the fastest or most annoying way from your target. In case that you can't gangk from behind get in position to charge the target the fastest way. If you can gangk from behind with no-worries should you do that. After level 6 do you also have [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] to engage with, you can make a lot of funny stuff by gangking "from the lane", that's where wards don't work on Nocturne which is one of the things that is really great about Nocturne. [.] [number]Teamfight:[/number] Teamfights is way more difficult, and it get's harder as the time goes. If you are the tanky guy do you engage, if you are the damage on your team so you even kill them before they can kill you or stay close to your team, no matter what do you not wan't to get away from your team actually since it's very important that you don't mess up. Remember that you still are very squishy even through you have [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] for extra movement-speed, [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] to avoid one spell and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] to fear targets that you are charging or escaping from. After level 6 can you use [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] to engage, but remember that it is pretty good to keep if your main target some kind succeing to run away is this a very evil spell. If the enemy team is a little distance from eachother can it also screw it up for them. [.] [number]Common 1v1 Fight:[/number] Nocturne is a very strong champion against a lot of people, ofcourse since you are melee, deal physical damage only and the only things you have to charge people with are [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png], [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] and [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] + [imgsmall=items/randuins-omen.png][imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png][imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] later on when you get thise items. So it will be hard for you to keep catching someone like [imgsmall=champ/ahri.png], [imgsmall=champ/fizz.png] and [imgsmall=champ/leblanc.png] since you got no sort of instant CC and you can't keep useing [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png]. Ranged AD Carries can also be hard to get to, so be carefull with that, can be very dangerous to stay near a good AD Carry. Champions like [imgsmall=champ/rammus.png] should also be able to beat you later on, depends on the early game ofcourse. Some fights is also only win-able if you use your [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] right, if you can picture youself avoiding [imgsmall=champ/ahri.png]'s taunt while she already have used her ultimate, like, something like that is what turns the fights. Step 3. [number]What to cast when?[/number] When you are engaging the enemy is it very important what you cast as your first spell since every spell actually is usefull in certain situations, like you have to understand that you do not always starting a fight by using [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png]. If the enemy have some sort of easy CC they can pull out on you should you activate [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/w.png] then [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] or [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/q.png] which depends on your situation. You can also start with using [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/e.png] if the enemy got an annoying spell that makes them run faster like [imgsmall=champ/drmundo.png]. Champions like [imgsmall=champ/masteryi.png] and [imgsmall=champ/olaf.png] are pretty hard to gangk because of their ultimates that makes them immune to any sort of CC. I just wan't you yo know that it depends very much on your position and if you are engaging with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] or not, but it should be very easy to figure out as long as you have some sort of common sense and you know what the enemy can do. [center][highlight]_________________________________________________[/highlight][/center] Follow these instructions and you won't be 100% wrong in what you are doing, if there is something you don't understand or something I didn't wrote please tell me through a PM or leave a comment below. If this don't work for you are you doing something wrong.

I have been working on recording these guides through Own3d, but something keeps bugging in the video's when I am recording Replays. SO! I have uploaded the replays, since I've tried to fix the problem with Own3d a billion times now. You'll also get the best possible quality and you'll self have control over what you'll watch and in what speed you wan't to watch it in. All games in ELO 1600+ [center][title]VIDEO 1[/title][/center] This game was pretty funny to play, I thought we we're gonna loose when I saw the first 4 kills went to the enemy team. Bot-lane and top-lane we're pretty braindead the whole game though, but we carried it enough to Victory. The video shows some good fights, some mistakes from my site too. But all in all did the game go pretty good. You also get to see how well it go's when Nocturne get's blue, with lifesteal and blubuff will you be able to heal up through jungle and keep gangking and stay ready for fights. There is some good ultimates too. _____________________________________________________________________ [center][title]VIDEO 2[/title][/center] Pretty fun game. Camped top early to weak skarner in teamfights, since I knew Morde would be hard to gangk early. As soon as I get items could I dominate the game and win. There is also some mistake, but nothing to worry about. I had some pretty good ultimates in this game too. The damage Nocturne is giving is to big. _____________________________________________________________________ [center][title]VIDEO 3[/title][/center] Yeah ... This game was pretty much like 'Nocturne getting all the kills and carry game'. A lot of good ultimates and fights. Also stealing blue from mid because Sion would loose it. No dies. No big mistakes. Good control over baron/dragon. Rape, rape and rape... _____________________________________________________________________

What I do when it comes to lategame is pretty much my common sense. It's easy to see what you have to do, warding is really important since vision on a target with low HP = 1 kill with [imgsmall=skills/nocturne/r.png] and all in all very important, I useually ward alot when it comes to lategame. Get oracles if you feel safe or if it's what you need to win teamfights, the fact that the enemies dosn't have vision on you team can screw their position and be a won teamfight. Build after how the game go's (who are feed, who are not?). I prefer you take a look at my videos to get a good picture of the teamfights and the way I build on. It's okay to farm lanes when your team isn't there to get more gold, since you are jungle do you use alot of gold on wards. It's hard to deal a high amount of damage when you also have to be tanky, but when you need a [imgsmall=items/quicksilver-sash.png] or [imgsmall=items/banshees-veil.png] to block CC do you take it instead of [imgsmall=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png], as long as you have [imgsmall=items/the-brutalizer.png] will you be fine. All I can say is watch the replays and you'll learn alot. If you got any other bruiser/tank on your team is it a good idea to let him engage the fight since you want to be safe to deal a high amount of damage and use your fear. That's pretty much all you should know when it comes to lategame.

[center][imgext=][/center] [center][highlight]Nocturne - By BurstIntoFire[/highlight][/center] Thanks for reading the guide I hope you enjoy it, I've used alot of time making it. Nocturne is a really fun and easy champion to jungle, also really good for beginners! Nocturne is pretty much the reason why I started become a jungle guy in soloque, since I learned alot from playing Nocturne have I learned alot about jungling and started playing other junglers. If you got any questions are you welcome to PM me or leave a comment below.
