[title]Hi i'm Coxy[/title] Soraka is my go-to support when i'm last in the solo-quo, I currently have near 1000 games with her under my belt, and i'd like to share with the community what I have learned. During season 2 I was ranked 39t with her in the global community with the second most games with her after Nhat Nyugen. In this guide, I will break down runes, masteries, abilities, and roles in multiple locations throughout the guide to give the viewer all the resources needed. ============================================================================ *Supporting With Soraka *Tanking With Soraka *GP5 Per 10 *Minor Counter Jungling With Soraka *AP Carry Soraka And *Jungle Soraka (For When Your Team Bones You Into The Role) Why all these roles? Because teamates sometimes troll, and lets face it you came to carry.

[imgext=] [imgext=] *This Chart shows Bot-Lane Synergy for Soraka in ranked games. Key Points * Apparently Ezreal is awesome. * Soraka loses more lanes as a support then she wins. The LoL ranked community as a whole now has a rough 50% win-rate with Soraka. [imgext=] Or at Meanwhile here I am [imgext=] What gives me that 7% lead over the community? I'll answer [imgext=] So if playing Soraka is a 50 percent chance of winning, and getting an Aegis early is found in 65% of winning games, if you average the two, you have 57.5% My winning percentage as Soraka. BUT IT STILL DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE COXY?@! Breaking it down again. 1. Heal Bot Soraka, just isnt optimal anymore. Basically the enemy team has kill and zoning potential the entire game. 2. Heal Bot Soraka has no kill or zoning potentional in comparison. 3. Heal Bot Soraka really only helps her lane win against those who start Dorans over Boots-Pots, and still only if the ADC is somebody like Graves or Urgot who has enough firepower to win trades. 4. If you want a support for the heals, grab Ali, Taric, or even Sona. Simply because they bring more to the table then the heal factory.

MissyMegans The Starchild [title][/title] [title]This Guide Covers[/title] =================================== *Warding Location *Objective Timers *Support Builds *CV Locations Lane Partner Synergy According While Running Soraka As A Pure Support. -Overall the best "Pure" support Soraka guide currently.

Last Pick = Support *This Guide Has -Warding, Objectives, Timers, in small enough doses to not get overwhelmed. Supportive Support Guide *This Guide has even more Warding, overview on all supports, match-ups by duo's -More In-Depth in the first, but also longer. [title]And if you dont know hardly any game mechanics[/title] The Beginner's Guide to League of Legends *This Guide -Breaks down almost everything, those little things that game veterans take for granted of knowing how, or how not to do.

[title]Notice - (*) Before we get ahead of ourselves we need to focus on a few things.[/title] 1.) The Team's AD Carry, who is it? If the answer is, Vayne, or Corki Then this guide is not for you. (Explanation) Vayne and Corki are both farm reliant for damage and late-game effectiveness, to not support their farming is to cripple your team completely and effectively create a 3v5 situation. 2.) Who are we laning against? If the answer is MF, Varus, or Tristana With a Alistar, Blitz, or Leona support. Then this guide is not for you. (Explantion) Simply put, these combo's together destroy heals, offer CC, interupts, knockups, and simply out-damage whatever combo you have going.

[imgext=][imgext=] [imgext=] [title]Summoner Spells[/title] Heal - Cooldown: 270 Restores 140 + 25 x level Health to your Champion and and 50% of that to nearby allies. 600 Range. All targets healed by this will have a 50% reduction on all heals for around 20 secs. - Heal helps out in early game to rack up kills in your lane by being able to "heal bait". As Soraka the longer you can stay in the hotzone to stack up Q stacks, the more damage you do, heal does this, and since you wont start spec'ing heal until mid game. This is a must have. While the Meta currently has the ADC running Heal, if you properly tank and bring that focus fire on yourself, your ADC should never get touched. Ignite - Cooldown: 180 Ignite is a damage over time spell that targets a single champion dealing 50 true damage plus 20 true damage per level over 5 seconds. This damage is not lowered by armor or magic resistance. Also reduces the target's healing and regeneration by 50%. 600 Range. - At level 1 Ignite will nuke for 70 damage. At level 2 Ignite will nuke for 90 damage. At lvl 3 Ignite will Nuke for 110 damage. Now if your playing mid, and you've been able to successfully Q harass your opponent Ignite can be the deal breaker. At lvl 3 more then the damage, the instant CC on heals allows for the successful completion of ganks/kills. OR =[imgsmall=summoners/flash.png]Flash - Cooldown: 265 Teleports your Champion to target nearby location under your mouse cursor. 400 Range.

Overiew - [title]=====Checklist===== [/title] 1. Do I have Flash? 2. Does the enemy start at blue? 3. Does my team junglers start at blue? 4. Is the enemy AP Carry slow? 5. Did my AD Carry get Boots % Pots3? [.] If you answered yes, to all 5 of these, then you may attempt a steal of the Red Buff. A. Items = B. Ability = Starfall - Do it for the kids. C. Why? = He who dares wins. The Lizard Elder is an objective that allows junglers to more effectively gank, level up, and acquire currency. By stealing this OBJECTIVE, you limit the effectiveness of the enemy teams jungler in terms of both how successful a gank will be, while increasing your damage, giving you 1 Level Up, Gold, a Slow. After stealing red, you can choose to attempt a "Gank" the point is not to always get a kill, but to give your lanemate an advantage by forcing an early retreat to fountain or successfully zoning, though a kill with the combo of the Lizard Elder Buff is possible. Immediatly Following This, Retreat Back to Fountain. Buy & [title]For further information on the Lizard Elder and Red Buff[/title] [title][/title] [imgext=] [imgext=]

Operating a Pseudo Kill Lane As Soraka ------------------------------------------------- *Entirely Positioning Dependent [imgext=]

[imgext=] Counter Ward 1.) Around 3:47 you'll want to put a pink ward down, if you step into bushes it will reveal any wards in the bush, keep this area clear of wards. It will expire 3 minutes later. Steal Blue, Keep Line of Sight 2.) Once pink ward is ready to expire, replace the pink ward with a regular sight ward, and proceed to blue, which should respawn between 7:05 and 7:20, the sight ward in river will help cover retreat. Cordinate with your Jungler if you can. The enemies RED BUFF will have spawned during this time, your jungler should attempt to take that objective. Once Blue is Taken, and Jungler has taken red, head towards Dragon. [imgext=]

*Cordinate with Your Jungler* Pink Ward in Advance [title]1. Set-Up [/title]- The ADC should push the lane towards tower to have the minions put pressure on the lane, while Soraka and team's jungler head toward Dragon, depending on health, Soraka should be the to tank most of the damage from Dragon. (Partly due to tankiness, partly because following this, you will need to retreat to fountain for wards/items anyways whereas your jungler will not.) [title]2. Caution[/title] - Watch the mini-map for any MIA from Mid, while your lane mate might not think Mid is now roaming, it is always a possibility, espcially in the current meta. [title]3. After Math[/title] - Once dragon is dead, run deep into your jungle, do not stop at first bush to simply retreat, this needlessly puts you at risk of feeding the other team. [imgext=]

Decision Time If your ADC has been aggresive, and you have been able to pick up assists, continue building Aegis, and if possible boots/wards. Do this only if you have been able to pick up assists. If you have not, you simply wont be able to have enough income to do anything for team. With Assists + Drag If No Assists + Drag Why HoG? Simply because you probably acquired a ruby gem on your way towards the Aegis you could not afford, leaving a smaller amount of gold needed to turn this item and focus on your GP10. This will overally just change up your buying order, rather then build. Below is a chart showing GP10 gain throughout the game by object. If you cannot see the picture well and want a bigger copy [imgext=]

[title]Analyzing the Current Meta: Are GP10’s really worth it? [/title] by Dr_Kasper (Summed up best as the lower the Elo, the more you can get away with not getting them) In professional matches the average game length runs about 40-55 mins, and Riot states that the average match in the ENTIRETY of LOL ranges at about 30-40 mins. While these numbers are great for talking generalities, they are terrible when trying to figure out exact data. I spent a whole week analyzing different elo play times, and came up with some interesting numbers. Lower elo play (<1200): average game length (43 games observed) 23mins [title]Mid elo (>1200-<1800): average game length (31 games observed) 26mins[/title] Upper mid elo (>1800-<2400): average game length (39 games observed) 35mins Focus On GP10, Not Worth It? So, taking this into consideration and the average length times that were observed in ranked matches, it stands to reason that for Top lane and Mid lane, GP10’s are NOT worth it for the average game lengths observed. Mid - Verse Late Game GP10 items build into some great items (Shurelyia’s, Randuin’s, DG). But maybe, starting to build a mid game item early would benefit both Top lane and Mid lane better. Rushing mid game items or even building toward those late game items would allow players to have a HUGE advantage over the team who goes for the “lategame” build and goes for GP10’s. Not to say that these items are bad, don’t get me wrong. But it stands to reason that in lower levels of elo people tend to do 1 thing constantly: [title]Low Elo[/title]Plays very aggressively Now I should ask of couple of things [title]1) [/title] Is your team built around a late game? [title]2) [/title] Is the champion you chose better in the late game? [title]3)[/title] Are you incompetent in acquiring CS? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then maybe you should consider the GP10 build, but then again maybe your elo isn’t in the lower tier if you’re aware of all these prior conditions. In summary: [.]Higher elo games go on for longer periods of time, so they benefit from GP10 items a lot more than lower elo games, due to the brevity (aggressiveness) of them. Build for early –mid games in lower elo, and stomp those players that build for “late game”.

[title]Mid Game [/title] *The Point at which Objectives start to get taken. Meaning 1.) Towers get destroyed 2.) Dragon is killed - contested - stolen. 3.) Buffs are secured. Leaving champions open to start Free Roaming Meaning, Soraka can no longer pull the same tricks she did at the begining of the game. You have to FOCUS ON THE CARRY As in keeping that Carry alive, as more of the enemy starts to roam, go MIA for extended periods of time, it becomes increasingly more important to keep up the health and mana of the carry, while also expanding your ward responsibilies to more then just 1 or 2 to keep from a jungler gank, because its not just the jungler who will gank, its everyone. [imgext=]

Ward. Everwhere. -One single person caught out of place can mean the difference between a win or a loss, both ways, wards are used both offensively and defensively to track enemy movement, and to an extent help conceal your own. -Oracles, make sure you have one, as your warding, if you see enemy wards, killing them only increases the effectiveness of your efforts. -Line of a sight is a battlefield multiplier, remember that. [imgext=]

What does Baron do? Killing Baron gives all living players on the killing team the "Exalted" Buff. You know, the buff that lets an enemy team face-check your towers, and 1200 gold to the entire team, and usually a level up. The "Exalted Buff" The buff grants: [.]Up to 40 ability power [.]Up to 40 attack damage [.]3% of your maximum health in health regeneration per 5 sec. [.]1% of your maximum mana in mana regeneration per 5 sec. -Due to the large boost this buff gives, it can often turn the tide of a match. It can also put the team who has the buff in favor when poking around a turret as they have high amounts of regeneration while the other team does not. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? [title]Keep Baron Warded.[/title] But when your team is ready to take Baron, try to clear first with an Oracle's to prevent getting creep-jacked, or a Baron steal. [imgext=]

Priorities 1.) Keeping the burst/assasain types Silenced. [title]2.) [/title] Using Astral Blessing on the teamate effectively tanking the most damage. 3.) Using Wish to further heal teammates, (only use on solotarget is a must to keep the carry alive) [title]4.) [/title]Spam Starfall recklessly. 5.) Use summoner heal after all other heals are exhausted. [.] Use Locket as a last ditch effort to save a teamate, or as part of the initial surge into a team fight. A 5 second AoE shield on a 60 second CD that can prevent up to 1150 damage at level 18 not taking into account individual damage resistances that apply to the shield. [.] Use Shuryelia's to iniate a fight if need be, only when you have proper line of sight. Otherwise [.] Save Shuryelia's to time a retreat to minize causalties.

Soraka Jungling is near non-viable against a non-mana dependent jungler, or against a half-way decent counter-jungling champion. (*) Hardly Viable, Only Happens When Forced Into the Role (*) Suscpetable to Counter Jungling (*) Weak Ganks, but can gank at all levels Should ideally be played as a roaming support between top and mid lane, so as to not leach experience. A Comprehensive Resource [title]by IJunglerSoraka[/title] This guide, goes over all the cons, shortcomings, and hazards of jungling with Soraka, and how to mitigate some of them. This is a role you get forced into, not a role you choose simply because.

[.]Astral Blessing [title]ARMOR STEROID THAT HEALS YOU[/title] Heal Tank - When to use, when the Enemy isnt running many ignites and their team is comprised mainly of Tanky DPS. This build puts you at roughly 200 Armor with over 4,000 HP. With -Full Cooldown Reduction -Some Disable But Most Importantly, 217 HP Regen Per 5 True Damage - When to use, when the enemy is comprised of Squishy Champions at End Game. Squishy being anything less then 1700 Health. This Build has you running about 340 Ability Power with 20% CDR and 2,900 HP With -Flat Magic Pen of 80 Counting Runes/Masteries -Able to Slow for 15% MS with Starfall -Able to Slow for 35% with Infuse -VOID STAFF CAN BE SUBSTITUTED IF ENEMY DOES NOT STACK MR. -Starfall will do roughly 260 Damage Per Hit. Meaning a Squishy Champion (IE Akali) with 1700 Health can be killed with 6.5 Consquetive Casts of Starfall, 6.5 times the 2.0 Cooldown on Starfall, thats 13 seconds to kill an entire team while using the passive of Rylais to help you Kite enemies and using infuse to prevent Gap Closing/Escapes. Off-Tank Disabler - When to use, when the Enemy only has 1 True AP Champion. This Build has your running about 4,300 HP with near 400 Armor With -Full Cooldown Reduction -Between 83% and 88% Physical Damage Reduction -Able to Reduce Enemy Attack Speed by roughly 55% -Starfall will do roughly 110 Damage Per Hit. -Sunfire Cloak's Damage will Imrove After Starfall stacks [.]TIP: Thornmail and how it works. Ashe with 100 Attack Damage deals 13 damage to you, and of the 100, 30% gets reflected back on her. You take 13 Damage, She takes 30, and more depending how much Magic Resist of Hers has been shredded. Ashe with NEGATIVE -50 Magic Resist will take 40% Damage from Thornmail, and 47 Damage from Sunfire Cloak. But Coxamus!!! What about their 1 AP Carry? -Repeat after me "I welcome that shit" With over 4,000 Health and enough Armor that you might actually have more Regen per 5 then actual damage, you can take a nuke to the face of 2,000. Anti-Mage - When to use, when the Enemy has 3 Champions that deal primarly Magic Damage/On-Hit Effects EXAMPLE OF TEAM MATCHUP This Build has your running about 2,700 HP with near 300 Magic Resist With -10% Cooldown Reduction -Gives Duel Aura's to Teamates for Magic Resist -Starfall will do roughly 130 Damage Per Hit. -Between 71% and 75% Reduction of Magic Damage [.]TIP: Madreds Blood Razor deals 4% of Targets HP in Magic Damage. This build negates that to 1%. Wits End does 40 Magic Damage on Hit. This build negates that around 12. Viegars Ult Hits for lets say 2,000 Damage, you take 600. ---DOES NOT WORK IF ENEMY RUNNING LATE GAME HYPER CARRY. IE Tryn, Kog. AP Off Tank - When to use, when the enemy is turtleing, not playing aggressively, and seems to want to wait till end before starting "Team Fights". This Build has your running about 2,900 HP with 200 Armor and 100 Magic Resist and 750 AP With -28% Cooldown Reduction -Spellvamp Aura -Reduces Attack Speed of Enemy Champs by 20% -Archangles Staff transforms sizable Mana Pool from build into 200 Extra AP -Starfall will do roughly 400 Damage per Hitevery 1.97 seconds. -MASSIVE HEALS [.]TIP: Build is slightly susceptable to Magic Damage but has no glaring weakness save low move-speed. While running this build, when retreating continue to Spam Starfall, odds are you wont be able to get away and you could still pick up kills. Kiting Build - When to use, when you need to out-poke an enemy who if they close the gap deal massive damage to you. This Build has your running about 3,100 HP and 800 AP With -8% CDR -Spellvamp Aura -Puts you at 413 Move Speed with Runes. -Archangels Staff can be Substituted for DeathfireClasp -Starfall will do roughly 430 Damage per Hit every 2.3 seconds. (Dont be Cheap buy Blue Elixer) -MASSIVE HEALS -Move Speed DEBUFF [.]TIP: This is a build that uses having a greater movespeed then enemy champs to build up damage over time and simply run them down when they attempt retreat. Example Twisted Fate with a Move Speed of 390, reduced by (330)15% by Starfall and (260)35% by Infuse. Meaning that Twisted Fate cannot run away, using Gate can be stopped with Infuse, and while running 2100 Health with TF, all you need to do is 4 shots with Starfall and 1 shot with Infuse to kill.

Other Resources = [title]AwwGasmns's Photo Guide to Warding[/title] How to Win All Games (Ward) 1.) When do I ward? Look at the enemy jungler. If it's Lee Sin, you know he will be starting red and may be heading over to bot lane around 2:15 so you need to ward before then. If it's Warwick, you know he will most likely be starting blue and not ganking for a while. Even with red buff, his pre-6 gank will be weak. I usually ward for WW around 3:00 Wards should ALWAYS be up. There should never be a time where you lose vision of incoming ganks. 2.) Where do I ward? Depends on the position of the minion wave as well as what side of the map you are on. Bottom Side -Pushed or Even Ward dragon + Your wraiths (if your mid is refusing to do so). The wraith ward is to cover any ganks from tribush from the enemy mid laner. -At tower Only a dragon ward is necessary since it's hard to dive you at tower. If the enemy has good tower divers like Rammus, you still might want to ward wraiths Top Side -Pushed or Even Ward dragon + tribush -At tower Only a dragon ward is necessary since it's hard to dive you at tower. If the enemy has good tower divers like Rammus, you still might want to ward the bush next to your tower Additional wards -If the enemy support is Blitzcrank or Leona, you'll always want to ward the lane bushes. -If your AD carry is Vayne, you'll want to ward the lane bushes. -If you are afraid of lane ganks, you'll want to ward the lane bushes 3.) How do I ward? -Never go to ward a bush unless you have vision or know where the enemy team is. Look at the map Where is their AP carry? Where is the enemy bot lane? If any of these are missing, don't ward until you see them on the map again. -Check your ward timers and replace them before they die so you don't have to go through this trouble. 4.) Do I get pink wards? -Get pink wards to kill their wards only if you have a gank dependent jungler OR you are fighting for brush control in the lane or buff control. -Past 7-8 minutes, dragon will be a possibility. You will want to go B for a pink ward before then so you can pink dragon if your jungler decides to take it.
