Currently Diamond and roaming around 2200 ELO, and this is my first guide that I've worked really hard on. I usually jungle, and play a lot of maokai, but their are already guides for that, but if I had to play top it would be RENGAR or Renekton. Why? Because they're fun as ****. I also made this guide because the only other guide that's featured is Voyboy's, and it's really outdated. So I made a guide on one of the most fun champs (IMO). So I'm here to bring you some insights about this champ! It was just really fun to me and I eventually bought him, I learned what his ups and downs were, strong points etc and I just want to share my insights with you guys. [highlight]Best Stats for Renekton[/highlight]: AD, ARP, CDR, ARMOR, MAGIC RESIST, HP, [highlight][center]PROS: [/center][/highlight] - He can go Anti-Carry mode or TANK. - Strong Laner vs Melee - Has one of the best escapes IMO - Can sometimes 2v1 when getting ganked. - Very hard to gank - Manaless [center][highlight]CONS:[/highlight][/center] - Falls off late game - If he loses lane, he's not much useful, now he's just a tank. - Not the best peeler. - Weak Laner vs Ranged

[imgext=http://i.imgur.com/0RnHs.png] Alright so lets see here, we have 6.8 AD in Quint, 10 ArP in quints, 8.55 AD in marks, and 15 ArP in marks. Lets do some quick math and see what gives the better ratio for AD. Ratio Marks = 6.8/10 = 0.68 & Ratio Quints = 8.55 = 15 ArP = 0.57 So for every ArP in marks is equal to 0.68 AD, and in Quints every ArP you get is worth 0.57 AD. TL;DR ArP is better in Marks than Quints Armor for AD match ups Magic Resist for AP match ups Yellow and Blue are optional based on the opponent, say if it's a AD lane, then go blue armors. Or if its a AP lane, go MR yellows. Though this is just my standard rune setup and I can't afford any other runes.

Having sufficient fury empowers Renekton's abilities with bonus effects, but this drains Fury. Out of combat, Renekton loses 5 Fury per second.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is what makes him unique, he has empowered skills. NOTE: It doesn't say it here, but if you ever read his passive in game, it says \"Whenever Renekton is below 50% HP, all fury gain is increased by 50%\", that means hitting someone, using your Q, using W and fury gained from ultimate. [title][img=skills/renekton/q.png] Q: Cull The Meek[/title] [number]Renekton swings his blade, dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+80% Attack Damage) physical damage to nearby enemies and gains 5% of the damage dealt as Health, up to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150. Each hit grants 5 Fury, up to 25. Enemy champions grant 400% additional health recovery. 50 Fury Bonus: Dmage increased to 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 / 270 (+). Heal percent increased to 10%, up to 150 / 225 / 300 / 375 / 450. Cooldown 8seconds Cost No Cost or 50 Fury Range 20[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is what makes Renekton sustain in lane, able to trade so well and basically if used with 50 fury, his AoE damage in a team fight will be VERY noticable. NOTE: Apparently when he uses his ultimate, the range on this also increases, along with Lulu's ult. NOTE 2: This spell gains fury for enemies hit. [title][img=skills/renekton/w.png] W: Ruthless Predator[/title] [number]Renekton's next attack strikes twice dealing physical damage 10 / 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 (+150% of his Attack Damage) and stuns for 0.75 seconds. Each hit applies on-hit effects. 50 Fury Bonus: Instead, Renekton attacks three times dealing physical damage 15 / 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 (+225% of his Attack Damage) and stuns his target for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9seconds Cost No Cost or 50 Fury Range 300[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] The stun that comes up every 10 seconds in a lane, wow. This is another reason why trading with Renekton is so hard. And also at 50 fury, the stun doubles and the attack damage that is applied is amazing. NOTE: This spell is applied with life steal. NOTE 2: This spell gains fury. [title][img=skills/renekton/e.png] E: Slice and Dice[/title] [number]Renekton Slice: Renekton dashes, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+) physical damage. Hitting an enemy grants the ability to use Dice for 4 seconds. Dice: Renekton dashes dealing 30/60/90/120/150 (+) physical damage. Dice - 50 Fury Bonus: Damage increased to 67.5 / 112.5 / 157.5 / 202.5 / 247.5 (+). Enemies hit have 15% / 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% reduced Armor for 4 seconds. Cooldown 18/17/16/15/14 Cost No Cost or 50 Fury Range 250[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is why I love renekton, you can juke so much with this skill. It's an amazing escape as this is another reason why Renekton is a great top laner and scales by 60 damage per level (2 dashes). Also the cooldown goes down so that makes you more harder to gank. NOTE: The 2nd E only uses the fury bonus, the 1st E will not take 50 fury. [title][img=skills/renekton/r.png] R: Dominus[/title] [number]Renekton surrounds himself with dark energies for 15 seconds, gaining 300 / 450 / 600 Health. While active, he deals 40/70/100 (+10% Ability Power) magic damage to nearby enemies and gains 5 Fury per second.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Mmmm now this skill is where he get's super OP. Gimme more fury gimme more damage, more hp, and a free SUNFIRE CAPE! Always use this skill at the beginning of a fight as it builds fury every second. This move can save your life when getting dived or diving someone. Really a great skill. NOTE 1: This skill can bug out, somoene can kill you while casting this spell and the spell will go on cooldown and you will not receive the bonus health. It does this because the spell has a cast time of like 0.5 seconds?

Sometimes take E at level 2, but that's only if you expect a gank, IE: Enemy Lee Sin starts red, jungle alistar, shaco etc. Max E over W. 1. E gives 60 damage each rank, W is 40. 2. E's empowered scales with rank. 3. 18 to 17 seconds is > 13 to 12 seconds IMO. Unless its like 3 to 2 and 10 to 9, then yeah.

[img=items/the-brutalizer.png] or [img=items/phage.png] or all 2. If I won my lane, I prefer to get DPS early game and then build into more of a tank mid/late game. Just because the early DPS can help get those kills in teamfights. Losing lane? [img=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png] or [img=items/randuins-omen.png] or [img=items/hexdrinker.png] The way I base this is, if you won the lane, you should be able to cause havoc in the enemy lines. And if you lost the lane, you should be in your back lines protecting your carries and being a meat shield for them. TL;DR Win: DPS Lose: Tank [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] or [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] or [img=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png] [title]Mid-Game[/title] [img=items/randuins-omen.png] OR [img=items/guardian-angel.png] Does your team need more of a tank? A bigger front line meat shield? [img=items/frozen-mallet.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png][img=items/randuins-omen.png][img=items/negatron-cloak.png] [title]END GAME[/title] Does your team have a lot of assassins or need more dps needed to take out high priorty targets? [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png][img=items/last-whisper.png] [center][title]ITEM EXPLANATIONS[/title][/center] [center][img=items/dorans-blade.png][/center] A good item for gaining early game advantages. I usually get one and get a brutalizer. [center][img=items/the-brutalizer.png][/center] The armor penetration, plus your runes and masteries will basically make you do true damage on the carries who got no armor. This also gives cooldown reduction which is one of the best things a Renekton can get. Oh yeah on top of all that it gives +25 AD, for the cost of 1337? Sold! [center][img=items/the-bloodthirster.png][/center] This just gives flat out 100 AD, and the life steal is nice. Let's see here, add this item to your kit and lets give an example of a full combo on a 0 armor enemy with just this item on. E-AA-W-AA-Q-AA-E That's 90 + 100 + 150 + 100 + 80 + 90 = 610 bonus damage without fury added to your general combo. Lets add the base damages to this... Renekton's has 109 AD at level 18. And with a full stacked bloodthirster 209 AD. 150 + (90) + 209 + 180 + (314) + 209 + 180 + (80) + 209 + 150 + (90) = 1861 without fury in about 4 seconds (estimate) on a single target with 0 armor. NOTE: Brackets is the bonus AD. So yeah, it's a great item on him. I hope this math makes sense. [center][img=items/guardian-angel.png][/center] Every enemy's worst nightmare mid-game team fights. This item gives high resists, gives an extra 750 HP and a free 3 second hourglass. This is what every bruiser needs and to make the enemy carries miserable. [center][img=items/maw-of-malmortius.png][/center] I just realized something, this item sucks mad donkey, even though I said it when it came out, I just followed the trend and thought it was good. It's previous version hexdrinker is good but this is crap, I'm sorry if you ever got this item and for putting it on my previous guide but this is a garbage weapon. Let's compare Hexdrinker Stats: 25 AD 30 MR 250 SHIELD [highlight]1400g[/highlight] Wow what a great item! Maw of Malmortius Stats: 50 AD 36 MR 400 SHIELD (increase of 150 HP) 1 AD every 2.5% of maximum HP missing. (Potential extra 40 AD) 3300 - 1400 = [highlight]1900g[/highlight] Wow that seems great, the 1 AD and the extra bonus stats! But let's actually see whats going on, you're full hp - 75% thats about 10 damage extra, and then you go for carry and then you get melted to 25% or dead. Either way you won't make use of that extra AD in a team fight as you probably backed off or are dead. TL;DR Hexdrinker (Y), Maw (N) BUILDS: ANTI CARRY RENEKTON (ideal for if your ahead) [img=items/mercurys-treads.png][img=items/the-bloodthirster.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png][img=items/last-whisper.png][img=items/randuins-omen.png] TANK RENEKTON (ideal for if you're behind) [img=items/ninja-tabi.png][img=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png][img=items/randuins-omen.png][img=items/frozen-mallet.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png] MY RENEKTON (balance) that makes early game shine and late game tank [img=items/ninja-tabi.png][img=items/the-brutalizer.png][img=items/frozen-mallet.png][img=items/randuins-omen.png]/[img=items/guardian-angel.png] if ahead, but get both later on. I get this when I need some MR for the magic damage if I feel their magic damage hurts.[img=items/negatron-cloak.png] and build it into [img=items/force-of-nature.png] as a last itemish. PROTOTYPE RENEKTON (In testing phase) I think this would be the most annoying Renekton mid-game. [img=items/dorans-blade.png][img=items/ninja-tabi.png][img=items/frozen-mallet.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png] [highlight][center]Items I don't recommend[/center][/highlight] [img=items/atmas-impaler.png] it just doesn't give that oomph it used too ;( [img=items/sunfire-cape.png] your ultimate gives it already, and plus you don't have any magic penetration so it's actually doing 20-30 damage average. If you really wanted to make this damage better you might as well play AP nasus. [img=items/spirit-visage.png] it's cool, but I feel a [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png] is better. [img=items/youmuus-ghostblade.png] don't build the brutalizer into this, sure it gives you more attack speed, crit, move speed and more AD and Crit. But basically this item is a weaker version of [imgsmall=items/phantom-dancer.png], and you don't need to pay an extra 1.3k to get stats that aren't needed. You can sell the brutalizer for 1000g and have about 2300 sitting in your inventory to buy something better. [img=items/trinity-force.png] You're not Phreak, end of story. [img=items/wriggles-lantern.png] Suited for junglers, this just isn't a good item anymore for the top lane. [img=items/maw-of-malmortius.png] Too much gold for not enough bang [center][highlight]Other Items that could be used[/highlight][/center] [img=items/ionian-boots-of-lucidity.png] cooldown is pretty cool [img=items/warmogs-armor.png] HP is cool too [img=items/frozen-heart.png] If this item gave no mana, I'd instantly buy it. It just feels a waste of a stat though when you have it ;(. Try it though it might give great results! [img=items/the-black-cleaver.png] I never experimented with this weapon yet, I'll try it later but I don't think it's a good item for Renekton just because of the cost and the wasted attack speed. [img=items/zekes-herald.png] Shureeeeeee, the only stats here are HP and Cooldown that would benefit you greatly. The life steal and attack speed is wasted though, still viable.

Be aggressive, and be super aggressive when you have 50 rage or more. Renekton is a great top laner and can beat most melees. He is a natural pusher so the Jungler could set his eyes on you, but that's why Renekton has a kit to make sure he can survive a pro-longed gank. Also I usually like to hit and run trade style with Renekton, whenever my cooldowns are up I get some free harass in and try to minimize retaliation. Level 1 - You want to give an auto attack and W whenever you can. Or just W whenever you can, the best time to do this is when they're last hitting. [imgsmall=skills/renekton/w.png] Level 2 - You want to do the same thing as before, but now it looks more like AA-W-AA-Q [imgsmall=skills/renekton/w.png] - [imgsmall=skills/renekton/q.png] Level 2 v2 - If you feel that a gank is coming. You might want to consider in taking slice and dice (E). [imgsmall=skills/renekton/e.png] Level 3~5 - This is where Renekton starts to get fun. This is the most optimal combo, but of course certain cases you can't get all autos in. [imgsmall=skills/renekton/e.png]-AA-[imgsmall=skills/renekton/w.png]-AA-[imgsmall=skills/renekton/q.png]-AA-[imgsmall=skills/renekton/e.png] OUT. Although if you do this too often, they'll find a pattern and see when your E is down (Only escape) so if you ever feel a gank is coming, don't trade. Level 6 - You're now undivable, and now you can dive them if neccessary.[imgsmall=skills/renekton/r.png] NOTE: The best time to trade is when you have 50 rage. NOTE 2: If they see you're cooldowns are down, they might get aggressive on you. Careful. NOTE 3: Sometimes you simply can't out trade one or they just have too much sustain. (Cho'gath, Armor Vlad). Simply just push to there tower and if they try to trade with you, just W-Q and run, use E when needed to ( getting attacked and want to disengage). Some useful things to do when you want to roam. - Take golems, do some jungle camps. - Roam to mid, help jungler take enemy red/blue. [center]IMPORTANT NOTE:[/center] WARD WARD WARD WHENEVER YOU GO BACK GET ONE WARD, WARD IT. I'm not a risk taker so I usually always have a ward to spot incoming ganks, if I have no ward I push the lane and go back. BLUE SIDE [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/zzsG0.png] PURPLE SIDE [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/LGB6Z.png] yeah, I'm too lazy to make a purple picture :D

1. Remember to time out your dashes when getting ganked, unless it's someone who can constantly apply crowd control. 2. If someone is ganking for you, prepare 50 rage for your W, it has a 1.5 second stun which is essential 3. You can E over walls. 4. Lulu ultimate and Renekton's ultimate increases Q radius. 5. Fury gained is doubled when below 50% health

Make this phase count, as this is where Renekton shines the hardest. Or you feel like grouping and contesting stuff and team fighting. This is the phase of the game where Renekton shines at, you want to be in the middle of everyone doing massive AoE damage but most importantly be on there carries, since he is not the best peeler and he can put out tons of damage. Just be careful as 1 exhaust on you can render you useless for 3 seconds, in League of Legends that is a long time. You best fall back until that debuff is gone, then you can get in the hay of things again. Remember though you shouldn't be the 1st one in, let them initiate on you or your Jungler initiate so that you don't get peeled so hard in the first few seconds of the fight. [center]BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR SKILLS, THEIR ARE MANY WAYS TO USE RENEKTON IN A TEAM FIGHT. AND OF COURSE CERTAIN SITUATIONS CALL FOR DIFFERENT USAGE OF SKILLS![/center]

What is peeling? Well basically I can't define it but I'll give an example. There Katarina shunpo's onto your Kog'Maw and starts using Death Lotus, you're blitzcrank and you power fist her and do everything to get her off your carries. Basically Crowd Controling (CC) anyone who is the highest threat to your carry. Renekton can peel, but not as good as some champions like Maokai and Janna, nonetheless he can still peel. Basically let's say that Irelia initiates onto your graves, she has turned to the highest threat since she is on the carry and it's your job to not let that Graves die from her, use your [imgsmall=skills/renekton/w.png] on her and if you have a [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png], this will help you peel for graves and graves can now kite her with you slowing her constantly. Even though she has that like 70% tenacity, all of what you're doing to her is still good. So now that graves has some distance Irelia should switch her focus to someone else or just melt, either way your carry lived and is still in the fight doing Tons of Damage. Some champions you shouldn't CC are Maokai, since he does Tons of no damage and is just a bunch of Crowd Control. You can auto attack him but don't use your [imgsmall=skills/renekton/w.png] on him. There will be someone to follow up on him onto you're carry. If there are no assassins, you basically become a meat shield in front of your carry or you cause havoc in the enemy backlines.

TEAM FIGHTING: Peel for your ADC, that's it. He'll be the one doing the most damage at this point of the game, unless for sure you and a team mate can dive their carries. EX: - NOCTURNE + RENEKTON. [imgsmall=champ/nocturne.png][imgsmall=champ/renekton.png] or your team initiates first. At this time it's not wise to dive the enemy carry by yourself, they probably have a last whisperer and people will peel you off. You'll melt if your being peeled and the enemy carry goes to town on you, so it's best to peel for your carry. Renekton falls off late game, though he still is tanky. Be annoying, grab a bunch of resists and don't get cocky! Whoever you're tank initiates on or if you're team get's initiated on it's you're time to take out the highest threat. I kind of think of it like an aggro system and in priorty like this. 1. Donkey Wukong [imgsmall=champ/wukong.png] 2. Enemy bruiser on your ADC 3. Enemy bruiser on your APC 4. Enemy ADC 5. Enemy APC 6. Enemy Tank 7. If being slowed or CC'd, nearest enemy.

[img=champ/malphite.png] [highlight]EASY[/highlight] Shouldn't be that difficult, he's got a bursty kit but he shouldn't be able to kill you with a jungler though I say get a [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png] and get [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png] just incase. [img=champ/rumble.png] [highlight]MEDIUM[/highlight] This could get awkward after level 5, SO PLAY AGGRESSIVE 1-4 - get [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png][imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png] [img=champ/singed.png] [highlight]EASY[/highlight] Level 1, be super aggressive with your W and autos. Don't go in long trades, go for quick and simple combos on him. - rush [imgsmall=items/hexdrinker.png][imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png] [img=champ/akali.png] [highlight]EASY[/highlight] Watch out for her level 1 harass, it'll beat your W and she can keep throwing it. She's easily gankable though as she has to walk out of her twilight shroud while you have 2 dashes to keep up with her. [img=champ/chogath.png] [highlight]EASY[/highlight] Literally you can make him suffer, just keep comboing him and he should have a horrible early game. Once he gets some armor though, it becomes a farm fest. [img=champ/darius.png] [highlight]MEDIUM-HARD[/highlight] This guy is hard, you won't win trades since he has a lot of damage output and gets nastier every second. If you go in to do your E-W-Q combo and E out, I am pretty sure he can reel you back in for some more. Try doing W-Q and walk away, if he reels you in. DASH OUT! Try setting up a gank with your Jungler for him as the only escape he has is ghost/flash (usually). [img=champ/garen.png] [highlight]MEDIUM[/highlight] Level 1 he hits like a truck, build some resists and play hit and run. Don't let him Q you, get your W off first, Q and back off. [imgsmall=items/ninja-tabi.png] [img=champ/gangplank.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] His level 1 is ranged, so play passive and try to farm until you get your 3 skills or whenever he comes in melee ranged and give him a W-Q combo if you have it up. Careful for his level one, he can all in you at level 1 with parley and grog soaked blade. [img=champ/irelia.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] Level 1 - 3 easy peezy, make her your bitch for a bit. Afterwards, when trading with her, make sure to run away when her Hiten Style is up. You will lose the trades if she starts hitting you with Hiten Style, remember to play hit and run with her. Try abusing your E to make sure she never hits you, since she only can melee. Make sure to go with the W-Q combo her whenever in melee range, she will stun you and you'll take 1-2 shots, then you'll dash away, she'll follow with a blade surge and another A and you'll E a 2nd time away. So 3-4 shots you'd take if the Irelia knows what she's doing. Once she hits level 9, its just a matter of who dishes out more damage, you or her? [img=champ/jarvaniv.png] COMING SOON (never fought him yet) [img=champ/jax.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] Hit and run style, don't go in extended trades after level 6 or you'll lose. A good jax will put up his counter strike when you E in to combo him, make sure not to get hit by it or try to attack him when its up. If he's winding his counter strike, it's probably because your getting ganked, so save your E after they blown all they're CC on you. Make sure to stun Jax, then life steal with Q, and E to back off. [img=champ/jayce.png] [title]VERY HARD[/title] My god he's ranged. He hits like a truck with his E and he can disengage your combo with a quick E. On top of that he can catch up to you when you dash away, this guys a dick and you should stay away from him. You can't trade this dude and he can poke you like no tomorrow, all you can do is hold your lane up to your tower and try to farm. I'm not even sure what to build since he does magic and physical damage. Basically stack some health potions and try to keep alive in lane. [img=champ/kayle.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] Her level 1-2 is stronger than yours, basically you want to keep distance from her rightous fury, after you hit 3, you should be able to harass her. You'll E-W-Q-E out, she'll try to Q and E you but you've made too much distance. [img=champ/leesin.png] [title]EASY[/title] Every time he last hits, give him some harass. If he lands a Q on you, get ready to stun him and give him a good combo and teach him to never resonating strike to you again. He might max Safeguard and just make it a stale farm lane where none of you can do anything to each other. If he does you can just push to his tower and roam a bit. [img=champ/pantheon.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] He's got a real bursty kit, but can run out of mana if he's chucking spears at you and his passive is annoying. He's got no escapes though except his Shield Bash so set up a gank with jungler. Get [imgsmall=items/ninja-tabi.png] and possibly [imgsmall=items/dorans-blade.png]x2 [img=champ/nasus.png] [title]EZPZLEMONSQUEEZY[/title] Ever had a little brother that you pick on? This guy is your bitch forever in lane [img=champ/renekton.png] [title]EASY[/title] Because you're the better Renekton. [img=champ/riven.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] Riven is good in long trades because of her Runic Blade passive. So she'll win in an auto attack war with you, but your skills do more damage burst wise. Just watch out though, she has as much as mobility as you do and can follow you even with your 2 escapes. [img=champ/vladimir.png] [title]MEDIUM[/title] Level 1-8 be aggressive, this is a champ you want to do your E-W-Q combo, and E to follow him as he can't out trade auto attacks. Just watch out though, if he can outsustain your harass. Then it looks like you have to try to just push to his tower, and maybe take some jungle camps or roam a bit. Also don't get poked by him, that is Vladimir's speciality. [img=champ/wukong.png] [title]EASY[/title] F*** DAT STOOPID MONKEY, TEACH HIM WHO IS THE KING! Donkey Wukong is no match for King K. Renekton, sure he's defeated you many times in the past. But this time will be different. Whenever he dashes to you, you should be able to land a full W-Q combo on him. (After awhile he'll realize he doesn't want to dash to you anymore.) Basically zone this guy forever from last hitting, it's easily done whenever he goes to last hit just give him a quick W-Q. I believe Renekton doesn't get enough love, and that is why I'm making this guide. I feel he should be used more in competitive play, but maybe someone has to shine with him to make him noticable. Maybe there's some hidden OP build that's yet to be released, but nonetheless I am wanting him to get some attention and I want to make him ban worthy :). I remember the first Renekton[imgsmall=champ/renekton.png] I saw was Shampu's Renekton, I saw his compilation and basically got inspired with Renekton when I was 1700 ELO. I will update this guide with more stuff when I have the time.
