[title]Hi Community:[/title] Katarina is my favorite champion and I've learned a lot by my own experiences and by other people gameplay, such as tiensinoakuma(considered the best katarina in the world) and scarra. I really hope you like this guide( my first one) and I wish you understand why I'm building katarina like this. Pro's: -Really high AoE( area of effect) damage. -Can decimate entire enemy teams by herself. -One of the easiest champions to get multikills with. -Good mobility. -Easy to farm with. -Snowballs really well. Con's: -Weak to tanky champions and crowd control(stuns, fears, silences). -Really bad laning phase. -Has a high skill cap. -Provides only damage to the team. -Melee. -Weak single targeted damage compared to other champions. [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/JCnm9Bk.jpg]Your runes are built this way to maximize katarina's mid game potential by sacrificing some of her early game tankyness and damage: -[highlight]Marks[/highlight]:magic penetration is just the basic for any AP carry, there aren't any better runes for that role. This provides the highest damage potential any mark can bring to katarina. -[highlight]Seals[/highlight]: AP per level are really useful for kat since she basically gets an extra blasting wand if they are combined with your glyphs. This [highlight]really gives you a lot more damage if you consider the bonus AP you get from Rabadon's Deathcap and the Archmage mastery[/highlight]. Other viable options are: flat magic resist(recommended against leblanc only though), health per level and armor(good against bruisers you can't really kite well e.g. pantheon). -[highlight]Glyphs[/highlight]: For glyphs, I also get AP/level for basically the same reasons. The only other glyph I'd consider is magic resist, for the extra durability in the laning phase. -[highlight]Quints[/highlight]: I prefer getting movement speed quints over ability power for [highlight]the roaming potential it has[/highlight] and because [highlight]the rest of the rune setup( ap per level seals and glyphs) has low tankyness, so it doesn't really open up room for early plays[/highlight]. I really like the extra mobility you have and, also, the fact you aren't punished so hard as far as damage is concerned, since you get 3.7 ap per level and already start with 10 AP.

[title][img=skills/katarina/p.png] Passive: Voracity[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] [highlight]Katarina's main skill is her passive[/highlight], this is the skill that allows you to decimate entire fights by yourself. Basically, after you get a kill or assist, all your basic abilities reset and your ult's cooldown is reduced by 15 seconds. This allows you to chain abilities, killing one champion after another. This ability transforms katarina in the easiest champion to get multikills with. [highlight]Remember that you need to proc your passive in teamfights in order to be useful, so try to damage all enemies, in case someone dies and you can get an assist[/highlight]. [title][img=skills/katarina/q.png] Q: Bouncing Blade[/title] [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/WNWAq.jpg][imgext=http://i.imgur.com/YPbH8.jpg] [title]Explanation:[/title][highlight]Throws a dagger dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.45) magic damage. The dagger bounces to the 4 closest enemies dealing 10% less damage with each bounce. Enemies hit are marked for 4 seconds. Katarina's basic attacks or spells will consume the mark dealing 15/30/45/60/75 (+0.15) additional magic damage.[/highlight] This is katarina primary damage skill, it gives the biggest amount of burst in your basic skillset. This ability is locked on, so you don't need to worry about minions blocking it. [highlight]Remember that it bounces to the nearest target, so you can use that to your advantage[/highlight]. You need to throw it first, to then follow up with your other abilities, so that they proc your mark. [highlight]Remember that your Q has a casting time, so it may be a good idea to jump to the target and then cast your Q, so he doesn't get away from your shunpo range.[/highlight] [highlight]Use it to:[/highlight] -Harrass in lane -Throw at your enemy and follow up with other abilities -Farm ranged minions -Farm better, with a QW combo in the creep wave(after level 8) [title][img=skills/katarina/w.png] W: Sinister Steel[/title] [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/7aoVU.jpg][imgext=http://i.imgur.com/pSWNm.jpg] [title]Explanation:[/title]Whirls daggers in a circle dealing 40/75/110/145/180 (+0.6) (+0.25) magic damage. If she hits an enemy Champion, Katarina gains 12/20/28/36/44% movement speed for 1 second. Katarina's W is an AoE that [highlight]can be casted while moving[/highlight]. This ability is what procs the Q mark in teamfights. It is good to farm too, since it doesn't stop movement you are less vulnerable to harrass. You also gain a brief movement speed boost, that helps you kite a bit, but don't misunderstand me, [highlight]it isn't a relliable form of escape, it only lasts one second and has a low range[/highlight]. Also, you can W some enemies in the laning phase if you feel it is safe to do so, but only if he has the Q mark and if you have your shunpo up, otherwise, don't. [highlight]Use it to:[/highlight] -Farm minions that you can't reach in time or if you get harrassed when you autoatk creeps. -Proc the Q mark in teamfights or in lane if it is safe to do so. -Farm the minion wave following up Q(after level 8). -Gain movement speed if the enemy is too close. [title][img=skills/katarina/e.png] E: Shunpo[/title] [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/iAYK7.jpg][imgext=http://i.imgur.com/LVUbL.jpg] [title]Explanation:[/title]Moves to a target's location. Deals 60/85/110/135/160 (+0.4) magic damage if the target is an enemy. This is katarina's gap closer, you instantly blink to a target(therefore, you don't get affected by ground spells such as veigar stun) and deal damage if it is an enemy. You can jump to almost anything, champions, monsters, minions, wards, pets...[highlight]It has a really long cooldown if not maxed, so don't use it in the laning phase[/highlight](at least not agressively) or you will be vulnerable to retaliation. Try to be agressive if you notice a minion wave coming, you can jump to a minion if anything goes wrong. [highlight]Use it to:[/highlight] -Jump to a low health enemy to finish him off. -Jump to an enemy to release a full combo. -Escape by blinking to an allied unit. -Escape retaliation if you get close to poke. [title][img=skills/katarina/r.png] R: Death Lotus[/title] [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/hD7bg.jpg] [title]Explanation:[/title][highlight]Becomes a flurry of blades, throwing daggers at the closest 3 enemy Champions dealing 400/500/600 (+3) (+1.75) magic damage over 2 seconds. Daggers apply Grievous Wounds, reducing incoming healing by 50% for 3 seconds.[/highlight] Your ultimate is one of the highest damage skills in the game[highlight]. You should win a fight if you get a full ult off, but in 99% of the teamfights you will have to stop in the middle of it or the enemy will stop you[/highlight]. Use it to push the nemy out of lane, cast it when he wasted his CC trying to harrass you or farming. In teamfights, try to go in when the enemy wasted CC in the initiators or trying to reach your AD carry. [highlight]This ability doesn't reveal you if you cast it in a bush or in fog of war[/highlight], so you can ult when the enemy is coming and most will reallize too late where the damage is coming from.[highlight]Always jump to a high priority target when you will cast your ult[/highlight], this way, since your ult selects the closest 3 targets, you will hit him most times. [highlight]Also, this ability can be cast on invisible enemies[/highlight], that means, you can check if teemo, for example, is invisible in the bush by checking your ult icon, if it is light up, well, time to kill a scout. [highlight]Use it to:[/highlight] -Push the enemy out of lane. -Deal damage in teamfights. -Do a surprise burst when the enemy is coming to a bush you are in. -Check if an enemy you cannot see is near(over a wall, in a bush or invisible) by paying attention to the ult icon. [title]Combos:[/title] Add Ultimate/DFG/Ignite if necessary. QEW: This is your engage combo, when the enemy is not running from you, you should use this to engage and push him out of lane or kill him. QW: This is your farming combo, you throw your q at the ranged minions and W when it bounced to other targets. EQW: This is your chasing combination, if you Q while the enemy is running, there is a good chance of him outrunning your E range. Also, your shunpo range is bigger than your Q range.

[img=skills/katarina/r.png]>[img=skills/katarina/q.png]>[img=skills/katarina/w.png]>[img=skills/katarina/e.png] [center][highlight]Why Q over W?[/highlight][/center] [highlight]Basically, Q is way safer than W[/highlight]. Like most of you wonder, "if you say that this build is risky, why would you max Q just because it is safer?", well, this build involves risk because the risk brings a reward for well played katarina, but maxing W is just an unnecessary risk. Let's put it in a more clear way: -Q does way more burst damage than W which is the focus of this build: to burst someone down so you can proc your passive. -Q is a more reliable source of harrass than W is. -Even though W has more sustained damage and pushing power at early levels, Q's pushing capability is the same as W's at around level 10, when it is important to push anyways and katarina wasn't made to dps, she was made to burst. Therefore most DPS champions(if not all of them) will do more sustained damage than katarina, so it is better to poke the enemy until you can finish him off. [center][highlight]Why not E second?[/highlight][/center] Some people may argue that maxing E second is a good idea since you have increased mobility, what in my opinion doesn't make any sense. First, the damage increase you get is minimal(only 100 through 5 levels) and second of all, you won't need reduced CD on shunpo if you proc your passive since it will refresh, and, if it doesn't, you are pretty much dead anyways. It would be better situationally, but not worth it at all to max over W.

Standard Build:[img=items/sorcerers-shoes.png][img=items/void-staff.png][img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png][img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png][img=items/deathfire-grasp.png] For new kat players:[img=items/sorcerers-shoes.png][img=items/haunting-guise.png][img=items/abyssal-scepter.png][img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png][img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png][img=items/void-staff.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png] Basically, each item has a function: [title]TONS OF DAMAGE!:[/title] [img=items/void-staff.png][img=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] These are the items you will get first against AP mages(zhonya's first instead of void against ad casters), [highlight]they give you lots of damage with a good cost[/highlight]. Void staff actually does more damage than hat rush(see math below), so I always get it first for kat, it is a pretty big boost to her damage. I get rabadon's deathcap after that, at this point, you should have monster-like AoE with all this AP and magic pen this start provides. [highlight]It is just good to take early damage on katarina to take advantage of her extremely good mid game[/highlight], this is why I always get void staff first followed by deathcap(sometimes I take zhonya's hourglass if I see they have really good CC to prevent me from doing anything) [imgext=http://i.imgur.com/Vm0WY.png] [title]DA BAITS(and teamfighting as well):[/title] [img=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png][img=items/guardian-angel.png] These are the items you will get next unless everybody is stupid( you are smurfing with a level one account against a no CC team with 2 DCs). [highlight]These are mostly focused in a teamfight situation[/highlight]. You basically jump in at the right time so you immediatly get a reset, then , if your bloodseeking rampage is stopped because somebody was just too tanky or because the enemy switched focus to you(why does everybody hate kat?) [highlight]you just pop zhonya's to wait for someone to die, so you get the reset again, or to wait for them to change focus to somebody else[/highlight], if they don't, well, your team will just kill the people that are around the most badass gold statue in league(since draven doesn't buy zhonya's). For the guardian angel, the revive is just unvaluable in late game. When you die in the middle if their team for some random reason, you go ivulnerable. Somebody in the enemy team will get focused and die(unless you went 1v5 man mode) and you will get a reset.[highlight]Just don't go blindly initiating just because you have GA, it is a last resort, not a suiciding mission.[/highlight] [title]Instakill so fun...:[/title] [img=items/deathfire-grasp.png] This item's only purpose is to [highlight]make you able to kill their carry instantly in a fight[/highlight]. This item provides only single target damage in its active(unless you get a tiamat and it bugs), this is why people don't get it right away, multitarget damage is more important mid-game for kat. Late game, when your role is to kill high priority targets, it is good to take it so you can burst somebody down. [highlight]This should be always your last item[/highlight] unless you don't really need the GA(they have a "protect the vayne" team comp). [title]Boring tier:[/title] [img=items/haunting-guise.png][img=items/abyssal-scepter.png] Look how it is fun to spam W!(/sarcasm)I find this build really boring to play, almost no risk involved. I added a bit of risk on it but most people also get a warmogs instead of zhonya. I recommend this build for new katarina players that need to get used to her mechanics. After a few games(if you are a good player mechanicaly) you should try the standard build.

I'll explain why popular items aren't worth it: [img=items/rylais-crystal-scepter.png]: its passive offers utility,[highlight] but katarina should be getting damage[/highlight], the 500 hp won't stop burst damage from killing you, and even if it does, you won't have enough damage to burst the enemy down before his cooldowns are back up because you get a low amount of AP with it, you can get the same amount by buying a needlessly, that costs less than a rylai's. [img=items/hextech-gunblade.png]: gunblade gives you some damage,[highlight] but most of it goes to the ultimate and the active[/highlight],that deals damage to an enemy champion and slows him/her, your basic combo will get only a low amount. That's the main reason: your active gives you single targeted damage, [highlight]but you need damage to your basic combo, since it is your most reliable source of damage as far as teamfights are concerned[/highlight]. Since you won't get a full ult later on, it's active does low damage, her spells don't stack well with spellvamp, lifesteal for her is useless and it is more expensive than hat and DFG, gunblade isn't worth it for new katarina.

Katarina's early game is really bad. You don't deal as much damage and you don't have as much harrassing power as most other AP mid champions. [highlight]In the early game, you should farm only what you can and harrass your opponent if possible[/highlight]. Farm with your W skill if you can't get close enough to autoattack and farm the ranged minions with Q. You can also roam, but I suggest you do it after level 6. There are a lot of different matchups, but some of them are pretty similar: -[highlight]AP champions with limited sustainability[/highlight] Example:[imgsmall=champ/ahri.png] and [imgsmall=champ/diana.png]. In this matchup, you should harrass them all the time, dodging their harrass. These champions are normally relliant on mana. You should be able to dominate them until a point of the laning phase, normally level 6, in which you have to start to be more passive unless you are far ahead. -[highlight]Tanky champions with high sustain[/highlight] Example:[imgsmall=champ/chogath.png]. In this kind of matchup, good players will just heal back your poke, so don't waste your time and just farm as much as possible. -[highlight]Champions with limited mobility, poke and hard CC[/highlight] Example:[imgsmall=champ/karthus.png] and [imgsmall=champ/morgana.png]. This is the easiest matchup you can find. You basically stay tossing Qs at them and they can't do much about it. When they are low enough, go in for the kill. As katarina, you need to get[imgsmall=items/sorcerers-shoes.png] and [imgsmall=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] or [imgsmall=items/void-staff.png], as they are really important damage and survivability and damage tools.

The mid game is the best game phase for katarina. You are much stronger than most other champions. In the mid game, [highlight]you should farm and pay attention to important objectives, such as dragon and towers[/highlight]. Always be aware of the enemy's location, you don't want to be caught out and killed and let the enemy force a fight to their advantage. There are two sub-phases in the mid game: [highlight]-Laning mid game:[/highlight] In this phase,[highlight] you should be farming and roaming if you think you can get a kill[/highlight], in the mid lane, this phase starts around level 8. You should be pushing the enemy out of lane, to prevent him from roaming and deny him EXP. and gold. [highlight]You always have to prefer to roam bottom lane over top lane, you can get more resets and maybe a tower at the bottom lane or setup a dragon attempt[/highlight]. Try to gank with your jungler, a successful 4v2 will get you a tower and a dragon for free in normal circumstances. Remember to push your lane before roaming, or the enemy can get a tower if he sees he can't help his laners. [highlight]-Roaming mid game:[/highlight] In this phase, people are grouping up for dragon/baron/pushing attempts. You should be farming if you notice nothing is happening in the map( the enemies and allies are split up), it is very important to get ahead in gold. [highlight]In teamfights, you should engage if you think you can survive until you get a reset or if you see a low health enemy[/highlight]. You won't be the one to initiate, this is the tank's work, try to ask for someone with hard AoE CC in your team(malphite, amumu, galio). As katarina, your focus is getting [imgsmall=items/rabadons-deathcap.png] and [imgsmall=items/zhonyas-hourglass.png] or [imgsmall=items/void-staff.png](depending on your first item) as fast as possible, as you need damage with your hat and void, with the survivability with hourglass.

In this phase, [highlight]you are squishier and deal less damage compared to other enemies.Your work is to kill high priority targets[/highlight]. Remember to go in when your allies initiated, you go in in the enemy AD or AP carry to finish him off and reset onto the other carry. [highlight]In this phase of the game, baron attempts are much more frequent and important, this is why killing high priority targets is your job, to make these attempts safer and force a 4v5 fight with baron[/highlight]. In fights, [highlight]don't EVER initiate as katarina[/highlight]. You will just give them a free kill, a free baron, a free push and a free game. After you get baron, you need to go back to base, so the enemy doesn't trade a baron for an inhib, making it impossible to push since your base is getting constant pressure. After you go back, group up and push or force a fight, if the teams are even until then, you are more likely to win. Push until their inhibitor and either finish the game if you can or push other lanes, to get massive pressure onto their base and make them unable to take any objectives. As katarina, you should be getting a [imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png] and a [imgsmall=items/deathfire-grasp.png], you need the extra burst from dfg, sometimes your combo won't be enough. Also, the extra life you get from the GA is unvaluable, you can get a reset as soon as you respawn and win the teamfight.

[highlight]Never initiate a teamfight as katarina[/highlight], only go in when you know you can kill someone or get a full ult off. Use zhonya's when you can't kill someone anymore, you wasted your spells and they are on cooldown so you need to wait until your teammates kill somebody so you can get an assist and refresh your spell CDs. [highlight]It is also a good idea to attack isolated targets with your DFG+combo and ignite[/highlight]. Remember to follow up allied AoE CC(like galio, amumu or kennen's ult). It is also an option to focus on dealing as much damage as you can and then use zhonya's, but make sure your team can deal enough damage to finish off an enemy. Don't fight under enemy towers until your team is tanky enough, towers can turn a fight around. [center][highlight]Objectives:[/highlight][/center] If you are fighting at baron or dragon, it may be a good idea to trigger them, depending on which part of the team is in their nests. It is really good to wait for an enemy team to tank baron, then steal it with smite and follow up a fight that they cannot win, because they are low on hp and have baron disadvantage. [highlight]Baron's and dragon's nest are great places to start a fight if you have a katarina on your team[/highlight]. The whole enemy team is in a small area, leading to maximum damage output by your AoE spells.

[title]Synergies:[/title] Katarina synergies really well with AoE hard crowd control. Champions like [imgsmall=champ/amumu.png],[imgsmall=champ/galio.png] and [imgsmall=champ/malphite.png]. She has a really funny one with orianna too, when she jumps in, orianna shields her and ults, stopping attempts to prevent your ult from channeling. [title]Counters:[/title] [highlight]In lane, katarina's counters are champions with consistant poke and hard cc[/highlight]. I can list kassadin, leblanc and orianna. Kassadin can just silence you every time you use Q on him, not letting you follow up q's mark and dealing lower damage than him. Leblanc can burst you down in one combo, farm the wraiths and get exp and gold with q only, don't take any risks. She also has a silence that can easily stop your ult. Orianna can autoattack you to death and outtrade you. If you go all in on her, she can easily shield herself and ult to stop yours. Be careful and harrass her pre-6, you can dodge her skillshots and your q has more range than her autoattacks. Champions that katarina counters:Katarina counters karthus and morgana, [highlight]since they have no sustain, reliable ranged harrass, mobility or hard CC that can stop your ultimate[/highlight]. You will have a really easy time against them.

[img=champ/ahri.png] Difficulty:6/10 This is mostly a skill matchup, you have to poke her a lot with your q and get close and proc it with w if possible. After lv 6, you need to be really careful, try to pick up a kill before that happens. NEVER shunpo to her unless it is the killing blow, you will get charmed and get a combo to the face. Bait her charm when her ult is down, so that you can ult her out of the lane or even kill her. Remember to dodge her orb, and, also, some ahri players max W against you, try to avoid getting too close. [img=champ/akali.png] Difficulty:5/10 Akali is a skill matchup in lower elo, but in higher elo kat always wins. Harrass her with q all the time, your q deals more damage than hers. Go in for the mark with a max range W, don't get too close or she will proc her Q mark, it does a lot of damage. If she goes into shroud you can ult in the middle of it. Your w has a good range, when she unstealths to last hit, get close to her previous position and cast W or just use bouncing blades. Be careful with her ult though, when she ults you, immediately use yours, then use Q-W combo and shunpo to your tower. You will outdamage her in a fight like this, but don't let her proc q twice. [img=champ/anivia.png] Difficulty:6/10 This became my most hated matchup of all times and my most non-teemo hated champion. It isn't because it is hard, it is because, well, you can't jump her, or she ult-Es you and takes half of your hp.You can't roam, because she pushes more than anyone in the game and she takes 2 towers before you come back. You can't even go back to base, otherwise she takes your inhib or something. The secret is:Farm all day and counterpush. Dodge her Qs and try not to engage when her passive is up. Also, you have no choice but to be patient, if you lose, it is in 20 minutes.If you win, the game lasts an hour. Anivia can just press R and your wave is gone. [img=champ/annie.png] Difficulty:6/10 People's issue with annie is her autoattack poke and her really big burst. Start with a flask and always be full hp, otherwise she can kill you. Just don't get free autos on the face, always Q her when she pokes you. Rush mercury's treads and negatron cloak, go for the alternative build. Also, if you think you can go in, wait for her to have only 1 passive charge, so she can't stun you with a combo and have a potion of fortitude with you to avoid getting killed too(see more in the "Other Strategies" chapter). [img=champ/brand.png] Difficulty:7/10 Brand is really annoying, he will poke you a lot and stun you if you jump him. He also has quite a bit of burst, so be careful. Poke him with your q and ask for ganks. Get negatron cloak first against him. [img=champ/cassiopeia.png] Difficulty:7/10 There are the good cassiopeias and the bad cassiopeias. The good cass will poison you each time you go for a last hit, so don't try to last hit with auto's, do it with q and w.Avoid using shunpo on her unless you instakill her. DON'T ULT, she will use Miasma and spam her E and Q or even ult you and you will die to her insane dps. When you get to lv 9, push the lane as fast as possible and ask for your jungler to ward and steal her blue. You should get on your knees and beg him if needed, that is your only chance. A bad cass, however, won't try to harrass you when you farm, so just farm all day long. [img=champ/chogath.png] Difficulty:5/10 It isn't that hard to face cho. A bad cho should get Qed in the face whenever he goes to farm, and instead of healing it up, he will back off. A good cho will just ignore you, do don't waste your time and cooldowns and just farm safely. Avoid his Q and silence and don't jump in or he will have kitty kat for dinner. [img=champ/diana.png] Difficulty:6/10 This matchup is overrated to diana's side. Throw Qs at her all day and dodge her Crescent strike. Always go to your right side in lane because her Q comes from the other direction, you will have an easier time dodging it. Don't fight her after 6, ask for ganks since she has no reliable escapes. [img=champ/elise.png] Difficulty:7/10 Elise is a good early game champion. Kat is a bad early game champion. 2+2=you will get harrassed every time you go farm. Only go in to farm with autos when she is out of mana. You have to be extremely passive against her and only farm if you can. Push the lane and force her to use her spells on the minions, elise is too reliant on mana. Also check tiensinoakuma versus bigfatlp's elise game in season 2: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGjcuJF0iYc[/youtube] [img=champ/evelynn.png] Difficulty:5/10 Eve has a really bad laning phase and you can just Q her whenever it is up. After lv 6 it gets a bit harder, but you can still poke her. Go in to instakill her, don't let her get a shield by ulting you. Don't fight her full to full, she has a lot more dps than you. If she initiates, shunpo to your minions and back off. Her ult has more cd then yours, use that to your advantage. Don't let her roam, always try to be in her stealth range and ask for pink wards bottom and top, don't let her snowball from ganks. [img=champ/fizz.png] Difficulty:6.5/10 Fizz is a pretty hard lane if you don't know exactly what to do. The problem is:I can't teach you everything. Overall, you need good reflexes to shunpo his ult, try to predict by his actions when he would ult, by thinking what would you do in his situation. Remember that he can deny at least half of your ult with his E. When he uses W, back off, it doesn't last for long, then proceed to poke him. [img=champ/karthus.png] Difficulty:-1/10 It is extremely easy to lane against karthus, you toss q at him and dodge his Qs or stay close to your minions. The only problem with karthus is that you can't deny him. His q range is ridiculous. Anyway, go for the kill when he is low, but be careful with exhaust. Always ward your lane sides, the jungler is his only chance. [img=champ/kassadin.png] Difficulty:8/10 Kassadin pre-6 does less damage than you, so use QW on him whenever possible. After six, he becomes a teemo(annoying *****) and you can't do anything to stop it. He also roams really well, so make sure he doesn't know you will gank. Rush negatron cloak. [img=champ/leblanc.png] Difficulty:11/10 Leblanc is the hardest matchup I can find, the whole laning you will have to farm with q, pre-6 with W. She will just QW you every time you go autoattack. After level 6, she will instantly kill you whenever you go into lane, get mercury's, a null magic mantle and a negatron to turn it into abyssal scepter and the null later into GA. Beg your jungler for ganks and just stay defensive and don't poke her, she will kill you. Never ult when she is nearby, she will silence you and she or her team will kill you. There's also the option of being AFK and surrender at 20. [img=champ/leesin.png] Difficulty:6/10 You have to always dodge his Q and not to get close enough for him to slow you with E. If you see that he is maxing W, don't even poke him because he will heal it back. Just stay behind minions if he is maxing Q and poke him a bit. Don't go all in because he will kick you to his turret and kill you there. Don't underestimate him, go in if you can instantly kill him past his shield, don't let the kill for ignite because he has a lot of damage and and you will die before he does. [img=champ/lux.png] Difficulty:4.5/10 Lux is really annoying, she will poke you a lot and she can shield herself and combo you if you jump on her.Just dodge her Q and E and you'll be fine, farm with W if you can. [img=champ/malzahar.png] Difficulty:7/10 Malzahar is almost as difficult as his void enemy, he will cast malefic visions whenever you come into range and he can stop your ult with 2 spells, just farm out of his range and wait for the lane to push to last hit under the tower.Don't go all in on him or he will combo you and burst you 100-0, pick up an abyssal first.Ask your jungler to deny him blue buff. [img=champ/mordekaiser.png] Difficulty:7/10 Mordekaiser can just charge his shield and block your poke. He will outdamage you. Even though he has no hard CC to stop your ult, he can just cast his spells on you and gains shield, killing you and losing almost no HP. Ask for your jungler to gank a lot, he has literally no escapes. It isn't like kog'maw, that can slow the jungler or something, he has no CC and no escapes, but make sure both of you are full, he can 2v1 if he gets a ghost. Stay away from the minions as he will probably choose the minions between you and them. Start with a [imgsmall=items/crystalline-flask.png], health pots and a ward and buy a negatron. [img=champ/morgana.png] DIfficulty:2/10 The only thing you need to do in this lane is dodge her Q and poke her all day. She has no reliable source of hard CC, by the time she stuns you, you will already have casted a full ult. Remember to go in when her black shield is off, ask for ganks and deny her blue buff. You can win this lane easily then. [img=champ/orianna.png] Difficulty:8/10 She will just autoatk you to death and there is nothing you can do about it. You need to pick up an abyssal and farm with Q and W, do not get into her range. Roam if you can since orianna has no reliable gap closer. Deny her blue buff and push the lane back when it gets to your tower. [img=champ/ryze.png] Difficulty:6/10 Stay out of his range and farm with Q. Don't take free damage, toss your own Q if he pokes you. Deny him blue buff and you will dominate him. When he wastes his skills on minions, go all in on him. Get an abyssal first and always dodge her balls, never get below half hp in lane after she is six, she can burst you with one stun. Try to roam since syndra doesn't do it very well. [img=champ/talon.png] Difficulty:6/10 Talon is really annoying, but you should be constantly poking him down pre-6. A good idea is to gank talon and follow him if he is invisible with your ult icon, if it is lighted up, he is nearby. He can burst you down after six, rush zhonya's against him. If he jumps in, you can ult after his silence if you know he won't kill you and you may have a chance to kill him. [img=champ/vladimir.png] Difficulty:6/10 Vladimir is good against kat(finally someone that he isn't useless against...) since he can just QE when she gets close and pool her ult. When he uses Q, wait half a second for him to heal and use yours. Never take free damage, always trade. Bait his pool and ask for a gank. Farm and roam as much as possible. [img=champ/ziggs.png] Difficulty:3/10 Ziggs isn't hard, you dodge his skillshots and you win. If he throws his E against you, you dodge it with shunpo. Go all in when he uses his w, only spell that stops your ult, and his q on the minions. Push the lane back and deny him blue buff. Not hard at all. [img=champ/zilean.png] Difficulty:6 to 7/10 Zilean is a hard matchup because his bombs hit really hard. You should get close to your minions when he puts a bomb on you, so that he pushes the lane and you can last hit under the tower. You can also throw q on the minions and let it bounce to him, he has no sustain. Deny him blue buff. (will be updated with new matchups as soon as possible)

[imgsmall=items/elixir-of-fortitude.png] baiting: A really great strategy used by high elo players that consists in getting a potion of fortitude to bait an enemy. [highlight]The potion of fortitude instantly gives you flat health, which can work as a summoner heal[/highlight]. Sometimes, the enemy ignites you, but you use your fort pot and then a health potion, denying a kill and giving you an advantage by the stats. Also, an enemy can be baited into tower diving a really low hp kat and then she can pop a fort pot and ult, killing him in the process. [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] Jumping: This consists in you putting a ward in an inventory slot, and then, when you are in danger, put it on the ground and jump to it with your shunpo. [highlight]Try to use smart cast on the ward so you can do it as quickly as possible.[/highlight] [imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png] destroying without [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png]: This is a technique discovered by scarra. Basically, you follow an enemy when he puts a ward, you autoatk it once, jump to it and then auto it twice. This happens because of a bug, that actually reveals enemy wards you jump to for 3 seconds. Using [imgsmall=skills/katarina/e.png] to a minion for chasing: this technique consists in jumping to a nearby target close to your enemy and then use your spells. When you can't reach him, you can jump to other target and either cast your spells or continue to persue him. This can also be used with ward jumping.
