[imgext=] Hi I'm EndlessEnigma from across the lake at EUW (Germany) and I'm here to introduce you to my favorite support! I peaked around 1600 rating in season 1 and while that might not mean that I'm a total pro and badass it at least ensures that I possibly might not be a total rubbish idiot who has no clue of the game ;O. I have tried many different ways of playing him, including Doublelifts way and also following some of the guides here. But in the long run they all did not satisfy me. Some of the item builds needed too much money (aka me playing as a carry), others made me not able to support my ad carry, etc. So after stumbling across Xpecials Support Special I tried to apply that onto my beloved robo. My runes, masteries and items make it possible for you to constantly ward, to support and feed your ad carry (aka have enough mana/sustain to constantly pull off good grabs) and also to soak up some damage in teamfights aswell as protect your carries in them. PROS: - Good in Soloq when you need to play support because your not the passive dude who needs to cry at the inability of your mates to get some kills. - Perfect engage - Ability to protect carries very well - Huge CC - Able to tank (a bit) - Overall still a support ( includes warding/oracle's/dewarding ) CONS: - No heal in lane - No heal at all - Not a real carry (only passively carrying) - Your grab is not global.

[imgext=] Secondly, it's time for a little explanation regarding my runes. I choose flat armor for Marks over ArPen or MagicPen because ( again ) you deal enough damage on the squishies that you can sacrifice them over tankyness. You need the armor especially since you are laning against an ad carry and also will likely get focussed by minions. For Seals, I choose MP regen/lvl because you will need some MP regen to be able to "spam" your skills. Aditionally, I believe that those runes outshine the flat ones at lvl 6 and until then your Faerie Charm will do well enough. For Glyphs I sacrifice the usual Mres runes for flat CD reduction because I don't see a high need for you to stack Magic resistance early on. You won't need that much MR even later (a Banshee's Veil will be more than enough - especially against stuns) because as soon as their AP carry tries to burst you down, the fight should be won for your team, because he won't be able to quickly shut down your own carry. Since you will need at least a little bit of income to spam wards, etc.(because you are not lasthitting (!!!!!!) ), I go for 2 Quintessences of Avarice. I felt that with 3 of them I became a little too squishy, that's why I added one Quintessence of Fortitude.

[title][img=skills/blitzcrank/p.png] Passive: Mana Barrier[/title] [number]When Blitzcrank life is brought below 20% health he activates Mana Barrier. Mana Barrier can only occur once per minute. This creates a mana shield with 50% of his mana, lasts 10 seconds and refunds any unspent mana.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This passive! OMG! I really, really, really like it! I let's you bait opponents, lets you tank until the very last second and lets you survive some miss calculated bursts. Make sure that you get a feeling for when the barrier will activate! This is especially useful if you keep it just slightly above 20 % for baiting towerdives, overextends, etc.! [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/q.png] Q: Rocket Grab[/title] [number]Blitzcrank fires his right hand, if it encounters an enemy unit it will stun them and deal 60 / 120 / 180 / 240 / 300 (+80% of ability power) magic damage while he pulls them to himself. Cooldown 22 / 21 / 20 / 19 / 18seconds Cost 140mana Range 10000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Your absolute bread and marmelade. Very good initiate, perfect for zoning, perfect for pealing heroes off your squishies, did I say perfect already? Regardless, there are some bugs/tips/occurences you should care about: -When grabbing at the same time with an Alistar headbutting you, your grab will not pull anyone even if it hits. -Sometimes, when a silence has perfect timing on you (usually slightly after you activated it), your grab will not pull anyone even if it hits. -When you grab someone and the animation pulls him towards you, make sure to move a little backwards, it will drag him even further! (I believe that this could also work with flash at the right time, but I didn't have time to test it out yet.) -When grabbing someone through a trap like Caitlyns, it will trigger the trap! -The grab goes a little further than displayed in the preskill shadow! [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/w.png] W: Overdrive[/title] [number]Blitzcrank super charges himself to increase Movement Speed by 16 / 20 / 24 / 28 / 32% and attack speed by 30 / 38 / 46 / 54 / 62% for 8 seconds. However, when this effect ends his movement speed is decreased by 25% for 3 seconds. Cooldown 22seconds Cost 90mana Range 1[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This skill is really good for suddenly rushing out of a brush to grab or stun an opponent surprisingly. Also, in lategame this is a really good escape and speed mechanism, because it will be on a very low cooldown! Its second benefit - the AS increase - is really good if you need to dish out some extra damage and/or are fed! [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/e.png] E: Power Fist[/title] [number]Blitzcrank charges up his fist to make his next attack deal double his total attack damage and pop his target up in the air. Cooldown 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5seconds Cost 25mana Range 300[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Really good for extra damage, stun after grab or even stun before grab! You can w to your enemy and while they are busy trying to dodge the grab you simply run up to them, knock em up, retreat a little and grab immediately! Always max this one after your grab for the very low cooldown! It will ensure that you are able to protect ur carry(ies)! [title][img=skills/blitzcrank/r.png] R: Static Field[/title] [number]Passive: Lightning arcs off of Blitzcrank to hit a random nearby enemy for 100 / 200 / 300 (+25% of ability power) magic damage every 2.5 seconds. Active: Deals 250 / 375 / 500 (+100% of ability power) and silences surrounding enemy units for 0.5 seconds. The passive is not in effect during the cooldown. Cooldown 40seconds Cost 150mana Range 600[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] Has a rather high range, good use when you are in the middle of a teamfight. It's also very useful after you've grabbed someone to prevent them from simply flashing out! Make sure to learn when you need the extra damage from the passive or when it's necessary to silence! Because sometimes it's more useful do dish out the additional damage rather than sacrificing the passive for a silence. Also, if you're hiding in a brush make sure that your passive won't hit any creeps! This will tell them your position!

I always max out Q first to have it on a lower cooldown. After that I max out E for its lower cooldown. When compared with maxing out W it benefits your team and ad carry more because it give you a knockup every 5 seconds on max level! Ultimate should be skilled at 6,11,16 per usual.

For items, I always start with a [imgsmall=items/faerie-charm.png]Fearie Charm first. Some people like to start with boots, some with a mana crystal, I tried everything but all of these are useless when it comes to supporting your team! Fine, boots will make it possible to catch up to most people. But one ward is really not enough. Fine, a mana crystal will give you a better shield and more spammable spells but either you will also have only one ward or 2 healthpotions and no ward at all! Bad supporting! Also, an early [imgsmall=items/tear-of-the-goddess.png]Tear of Goddess is really nice but what are you going to build it into? Manamune? Too expensive, no survivability. Archangel? Same. So in order to be able to use the grab frequently (even if you most of the times will just wait for a really good opportunity rather than spamming it) and to support your carry, I go for Faerie Charm. Also because you get 3 Wards and can go back at 620+ ( [imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png]+x[imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png])or 970+ ([imgsmall=items/philosophers-stone.png]+[imgsmall=items/boots-of-speed.png]+x[imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png])which isn't really a long time due to those 2 Quintessences of Avarice. After that, try to get your Ruby Crystal or HoG asap because now you need some survivability and the extra gold as early as possible! Because of your Runes and the Philo Stone your Mana will be up most of the time. That's why you don't need to get an extra mana crystal and can go straight for tankyness ([imgsmall=items/ruby-crystal.png],[imgsmall=items/heart-of-gold.png],[imgsmall=items/phage.png]),extra gold and wards,wards,wards([imgsmall=items/sight-ward.png])! Since teamfights and little skirmishes will now start you will get extra money from your assists. This makes it possible to get your Sheen finally as well as finishing your boots! Most of the time games will end at this point (because you are most certainly at around 20-30 minutes) but if matches go any further, finishing Triforce and getting Banshee's Veil as well as Shurelias Reverie should ensure that you survive fights, get money and support your team.

Stay in the back or in brushes, wait for an opportunity! You will need fast reflexes because most of the times enemies are very aware if playing against a Blitzcrank. There are still certain techniques that will give you an easier time being able to grab! -Wait in the brush around the edge to dragon -Keep moving from left to right to left to right on the whole lane, this will keep them busy and increase the risk that they position themselves wrong -Act as if you were rushing for the ad carry. Their support will try to heal/shield/whatever them, quickly grab the squishy support to burst him down! -Place a ward inside the brush without them noticing it. You always have vision on them and they dont know it! Easy grabs! -AFK MODE : So nasty, so nasty. Choose a point in the battlefield where you wont eat too much minion damage and stop moving. For 1-2 Minutes. This has worked so many times! They will become more and more curious and try to get some hits off you. Make sure your AD carry knows that you are just acting! Wait for an opportunity and enjoy your meal. -Sometimes enemies stay too long near your tower to get some hits off. Wait for the last minion to be attacked from your tower then go grab them. Because of your E they will be long enough in tower range to get injured by at least one or two hits. Depending on your Wardcount, you must decide whether you ward the area between Tribush and Edgebrush or if you ward the Tribush and the Dragon area! This also depends on where you and the minions are. Most of the times you dont need to place your initial wards at the beginning because enemies will push your lane. Just make sure that you cv the entrance area after the jungler might have done Bluebuff or right at the start to prevent an early double Golems Gank or a delayed lvl 2 gank.

Stay around your carry, start roaming around, try to be the center of battle and the initiator! Be active! Make sure other lanes get some kills(not the enemies!). Ward their jungle, Ping for ganks, run around, go dewarding! But don't let your Ad carry alone too much, they still need a little bit of babysitting!

Same as the first part of Mid Game. But now you need to keep all the important places warded! Make sure you dont get ambushed because of too little wardcount. Stay with your team. TELL your teammates to stay with you. You are now the leader and need to be in front and to grab those squishies! DO NOT grab tanks or initiators! In Teamfights, make sure to protect your carries and to initiate fights. But be careful! Don't start fights when you are only 4 or when the enemies are fed and you are not under your tower! Use your E to interrupt Channelults, to interrupt everyone who tries to get to your squishies! Get a good feeling for when to use your ult! And take care, sometimes you might overextend (because you want to protect and peel someone off), dont get focussed down! Tank some skillshots if needed. You will be able to because you are a little tanky.Enjoy your win.

I will add more videos as soon as I record some footage that might be helpful! I'm also currently working on some kind of "fragmovie" full of nice grabs, it will be posted in here soon aswell! In this one, all unneeded footage is fast forwarded to save some time :) [youtube][/youtube]
