Hey Guys, this is my very first Guide on I'm a 21 years old Player and \"Coach\" (trying to coach Team 5's and solo player whenever the time is ready for me) Why is it ME who creates this guide: - Alistar is my very favorite Champion since season 3 (even tho he was not really good in season 3) - I played around 400 Games on Alistar on multiple Accounts since season 3 - I am one of very few online coaches who refers Alistar to the highest Tier Class even some patches before (Patch 5.3 actually allready) - I just have a shit ton of fun playing this champ and to \"bully\" unaware AD-Carries around :D ALSO: notice that Alistar was one of the high priority picks in MSI between FNC and SKT as well as SKT vs EDG :) Well, lets get started: Pros of Alistar: - Low Cooldown Knockup and Knockback - best peel out of all supports ingame - constant AoE Heal - Great Ultimate to be super tanky for a short duration - reliable Engage and high Skillcap Cons of Alistar: - no poke or range in lane - can fall behind heavily - depends on his team to follow up on his engage / depends on his ADC to deal dmg - no buyable Black Alistar Skin yet (biggest weakness whatsoever)

Level one you should actually wait what happens. If the enemy team invades or you can catch someone out of position decide between or . The situaton matters here the most. If you start krugs, I would always use for the maximum amount of damage. If you get poked down heavily in lane and nothing else happened consider to take at level 1 to keep your ADC healthy. Alistars level 1 laning phase is pretty weak compared to most of the current meta-supporter like Nami, Janna, Morgana, Thresh or even Nautilus. Try to push in lvl 1 with your Relic Shield and reach level 2 as soon as you can.

Your early laning Phase as Alistar is pretty weak, he got a good powerspike at level 2 but falls off lvl 3-5. Try to get level 2 asap in every matchup and decide if u can all-in the enemy or if u can zone them off creeps. Alistar's all-in-potential is high enough to just stay in the enemy minions without doing something and threaten the enemy laners. Always have in mind how many creeps the enemy laner needs to reach level 2. this is where you have to get out of the enemy minionwave. With level 6 Alistar reaches the point where you can pretty much win every all-in as far as your ADC is not too far behind the enemy one. Your pure amoun of cc and damage reduction combined with rediculous +60AD on your ultimate rank 1 create a monster out of Alistar.

The first back mostly decides if the lane if won or lost in the early stages of the game. Alistar can make use of very few resources, the following list show, what you could buy: - >360 g and <600 g -> buy + if gold is left open pick up green and pink wards - >600 g and <760 g -> buy + and pickup a bunch of potions/wards if you can - >800 g -> decide whether you buy (change to ) or if you decide to buy BUY ADDITIONAL WARDS!!! - if you are rich buy a combination of boots T1 and sightstone, maybe pick up some for additional tankyness

In Lategame Alistar can fullfill 3 different jobs: 1. Peeling EVERYTHING away from your ADC, in my opinion Alistar is the strongest peeling support in the game right now next to thresh. His \"lowish\" cooldown knockback and his aoe knochup provide Alistar with a shit ton of peel for your ADC. 2. the wild engaging bull, thats what Alistar is mostly known for. Your W-Q Combo can knock up a whole team and pretty much insta win the whole teamfight. 3. BE THE MEATSHIELD, alistar can tank up so much damage, just make sure not to pop your ultimate to late plz :D

Alistar is known for his Standard Combo -> W-Q to knock up the enemy while u charge onto him, without kicking him back. Following i will explain other combos, you can use to make the right plays in the right situation: 1. Standard + : use this Combo mainly to engage onto a group of champions or to catch and lock someone out of position. activate your and spam right the moment you start traveling. This is your main initiation combo for teamfight so practice it in custom games to not fail the combo, when you need it. 2. Standard -> : This is your primary peeling combo, charging bruisers/assassins, that are going to engage onto your ADC and knock them away from him with your . This is the most easy Combo to use, you just have to position yourself at the right point to knock the enemys in the right direction. 3. -> -> : flash onto an enemy to knock him up and kick him right back into the direction you want. If you are an advanced Alistar player and the enenmy has up, use Combo 3.5! 3.5 (expert version: :D ) + -> : same as the combo before, the difference is, that you will use your pulverize right before u click your flash to cancle the animation and catch people offguard. Like this your target can not flash out because he has no time to react on your move. Defensive: 4. -> + : mostly used when you get ganked or catched from behind, use to knock the enemy into the turret/team and follow up with and to lock him on point. 4.5 -> + : same like 3.5, its harder to pull off but you will be rewarded with animation cancling and ZERO reaction time for your enemy. Aggressive 5. + -> : this is the most unpredictable engage you can pull off as an alistar, onto a minion in flash range of the enemy team and onto them for a massive 5.5 yeah you can imagine, even so its pretty hard to pull off, here comes the hardest combo for alistar: + + : not only do you need a ton of reactions, you also have to animationcancel your q while midair of your w, try it out in custom games, it can actually work, but its really hard to pull off!!! Seperating: 6. -> : flash behind an enemy to knock him into the reaction you came from, pretty standard but sometimes hard to pull off in a bigger skirmish, care you don't waste your flash and still knock him back into a wrong direction!

I see a lot of people using completely wrong. A lot of them use it right before they are about to die, to keep themself barely alive a little bit longer. but why? First off a lot of these guys don't know that alistar can use his ulti at ANY time where he is not silenced. Fuck you Soraka, Cho'Gath, Fiddlesticks, Malzahar, Garen and Blitzcrank :D It removes all forms of Crowd Controll and reduces all incomming damage by 70% AFTER Armor and Magic Resistance occured. Here are some Tips on th right usuage of your ultimate ability: 1. Use it when you engaged onto multiple people. Wait till your CC is gone and reduce all the incomming damage, because you will most likely get focussed imidiatly after the knockup ended. 2. Use it if you need to stick on a target and you get locked down, you can break every cage, snare, stun, slow and knockup and keep on chasing your target. 3. And this is the most important tip! USE IT!!! do not wait to use . The longer the game lasts the more important, this ability will be for you, because carries deal more and more damage. Most times, you will regret not to use immidiatly in lategame, because the cooldown of this ability would end pretty much with the point you revive in base. Its cooldown scales 120 / 100 / 80 without any CDR. so lets calculate your cooldown with different CDR-items: 1. or or = 10% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 108 sec lvl 11 - 15: 90 sec lvl 16 - 18: 72 sec 2. or or + 0/9/21 Masteries = 15% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 102 sec lvl 11 - 15: 85 sec lvl 16 - 18: 68 sec 3. or a Combination out of 2 items from above -> 20% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 96 sec lvl 11 - 15: 80 sec lvl 16 - 18: 64 sec 4. or a Combination out of 2 items from above + 0/9/21 Masteries -> 25% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 90 sec lvl 11 - 15: 75 sec lvl 16 - 18: 60 sec 5. and or or -> 30% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 84 sec lvl 11 - 15: 70 sec lvl 16 - 18: 56 sec 6. and or or with 0/9/21 Masteries -> 35% CDR lvl 6 - 10 : 78 sec lvl 11 - 15: 65 sec lvl 16 - 18: 52 sec 7. 40% CDR (full item build most likely) lvl 6 - 10 : 72 sec lvl 11 - 15: 60 sec lvl 16 - 18: 48 sec

In teamfights watch out for the right moment to land huge pulverizes. A great example was Kiwikid, in the Spring Split Relegation Tournament. His Calmness provided Dignitas with an easy Teamfight and won them the Relegation Game against Team Fusion. [vid=] When you peel for your ADC, make sure to seperate your abilities from each other. Use your to create a gap between your ADC and incomming Bruisers/Assassins and make sure to interrupt everything you can with . Keep on using your untill you reach ~320 mana, this is the point where you can barely get out your spellrotation ( and ) out 2 times without using any spell in between and with 40% CDR.
