Varus is a champion which provides high utility decent damage and has a strong laning phase. This champion is very easy to CS with because of his passive [imgsmall=skills/varus/p.png]. Also, he is very popular right now because of all those things he provides. Varus is definitely more of a support ad carry. [highlight]Pros[/highlight] [.]high % dmg really good for getting beefy targets low [.]does a fair amount of magic damage due to [imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png] and [imgsmall=skills/varus/r.png] [.]Very lane dominate because he has [imgsmall=skills/varus/p.png]. With this, it is really easy to go for the last hit and harras at the same time [.]easiest ADC to last hit with because of [imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png] and [imgsmall=skills/varus/p.png] [highlight]Cons[/highlight] [.]All his spells are skillshots [.]Low base stats and doesn't scale too well in terms of stats [.]Nothing to escape with other than flash

[highlight]Marks[/highlight] Taking 9 physical damage marks best in slot for Varus to last hit and early damage [highlight]Seals[/highlight] Armor, of course, for trading and taking less damage. [highlight]Glyphs[/highlight] Scaling MR most of the time only time you would take flat MR is against [highlight]Quintessence[/highlight] I take 2 lifesteal quints for the sustain in lane so I can start [imgsmall=items/dorans-blade.png] and 1 physical damage quint to help me last hit under the turret.

[title][img=skills/varus/p.png] Passive: Living Vengeance[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] A good passive for last hitting and trading with enemy champions in lane because you can go for last hit and with the 20% attack speed you can attack the creeps right after and with the help of [imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png] of[imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png] [title][img=skills/varus/q.png] Q: Piercing Arrow[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] [imgsmall=skills/varus/q.png]does way more damage than [imgsmall=skills/varus/e.png] even in lane if you just hit them with a short charge on Q. This will do more damage than [imgsmall=skills/varus/e.png] and it's really good when you push up and just harass them under the turret with [imgsmall=skills/varus/q.png] [title][img=skills/varus/w.png] W: Blighted Quiver[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Very good spell has % damage when you chain it with your spells and the passive helps you last hit very well, it adds 10 damage on the first point so it makes last hitting early game really easy [title][img=skills/varus/e.png] E: Hail of Arrows[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] I use this spell to just proc the [imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png] and to slow the enemies its not my main source of damage [title][img=skills/varus/r.png] R: Chain of Corruption[/title] [title]Explanation:[/title] Great catching tool. This can decide a teamfight easily if used correctly. In addition, it can easily hit it if they have no visual on you when you're shooting it.

Well, I generally like getting [imgsmall=skills/varus/q.png] over [imgsmall=skills/varus/e.png] but it really depends on the situation. Sometimes, you just want to duel a lot more and just use [imgsmall=skills/varus/e.png] to help you out but most of the times [imgsmall=skills/varus/q.png] piercing arrow does more damage and provides you dominance in dragon fights. If you are doing the dragon dance, you can just poke them down and you will do immense damage.

[highlight]Starting items[/highlight] Most of the time it's going to be [img=items/dorans-blade.png] but you may start [img=items/long-sword.png] [img=items/health-potion2.png] if you're the type of player who likes to rush [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png]. If you skip Doran's, you will get bloodthirster about 1-3 minutes earlier and it could decide the game [highlight]Mid game [/highlight] Approaching the 15 minute mark you should have [img=items/the-bloodthirster.png] [img=items/berserkers-greaves.png][img=items/dorans-blade.png] and after that you should opt to get [img=items/statikk-shiv.png] or [img=items/zeal.png][img=items/last-whisper.png] depending on whether you need the armor pen or more DPS [highlight]Late game [/highlight] listed above.

In early game, you should try to harass as much as possible in lane with Varus. This champion is really dominant early game because of [imgsmall=skills/varus/p.png] and [imgsmall=skills/varus/w.png]. The best thing for you to do with Varus is just push them out of your lane and try to get early turrets so you can start roaming and make plays.

Varus is likely the strongest mid game champion other than Draven. He has insane damage and great utility. This champion can follow up in most situations with his [imgsmall=skills/varus/r.png]. When you group, he becomes a really strong champion with all the utility and with pokes Varus provides, you can use [imgsmall=skills/varus/r.png] to initiate fights also.

In late game, you never want to miss your [imgsmall=skills/varus/r.png] so be careful when shooting it. It is easier to hit them when they have no visual on you. Varus isn't a particularly strong late game champion but he still does fine and will do consistent damage throughout the whole teamfight.

Generally the same for every ADC, position yourself as far as you can from the back line (ap carries, ad carries) and try your best to stay alive while dishing out damage the whole time. In additon, if they assassin, you may want to join the fight late and go in when they use their CD's.

Varus is definitely a fun champion to pick up. He is very versatile and can be played in many different situations. He hardly loses the lane and of course here's a VOD of a game ^.^
