Hello, my names Okuser and I've created this Corki guys for you to use. Why should you trust and/or read my guide? I'm a 2200 elo AD carry main on the North American server and I've been a Corki main since the beginning of season 1 and have played him through thick and thin. I believe that the way I play Corki is the definitive and most efficient way for him to be played. [imgext=] I am also the winner of go4lol #79 subbing as the AD carry for Tasty Pastries starts at 1:21:20 [twitch][/twitch]

I want to go over the runes that I use and some alternative rune-sets in this section. Lots of theorycrafting has gone into making the standard AD runeset used by most of us today. Flat AD marks have been found to be the most efficient runes, both for early game and late game. They allow easier last hitting, scale with corkis passive making your autos do even more damage and scale with your abilities also. For yellows/blues running armor and MR will give you the most strength in lane. Running mana regeneration blues or yellows is no longer necessary on corki because of the amount of mana regen we're going to be getting from our masteries. [imgext=] ALTERNATIVE RUNEPAGE: For all aspiring AD carry mains I suggest that you set up TWO runepages. One with FLAT magic resit blues and one with SCALING magic resit blues. If you select your runepage based on who your opponent is in lane you will be able to get the most out of your runepage. Select the scaling MR blues for when your lane opponents and enemy jungler deal minimal AP damage. [imgext=] Explanation for 1 AD blue rune: I Included the single AD glpyh into my rune page because it allows your attack damage to round up to +16 rather +15 giving you free stats essentially. Not necessary to run at all.

[title] Passive: Hextech Shrapnel Shells[/title] [number]Corki's basic attacks deal 10% additional true damage to minions, monsters, and champions. [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is one of the strongest passives in the game. This ensures that your autos will be hitting HARD no matter who your target is. [title] Q: Phosphorus Bomb[/title] [number]Deals 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+50% of ability power) damage to enemies in a target area and reveals that area for 6 seconds. (does not reveal stealth) Cooldown 8 seconds Cost 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 mana Range 600 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Corkis bread and butter lane harassment ability. The idea here is to hit your opponent with an auto attack + phos bomb every time you safely can. You'll want to always auto first and THEN use phos bomb because it has a much large range than your auto attack so you will always get the auto+phos combo even if they are moving away from you. Phosphorous bombs range is farther than it may initially seem because of the extended radius of the ability. Never forget the fact that your phos bomb can reveal an area. This gives Corki amazing bush control bottom lane. If an enemy support is sitting in the bushes simply use your Q to reveal them and you'll be able to freely harrass them, as they are no longer protected by the bushes stealth. [title] W: Valkyrie[/title] [number]Corki surges to target location dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+40% of ability power) damage per second to enemies in the fire left along his path. Cooldown 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12seconds Cost 100 mana Range 10000 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Corkis escape/engage ability. It has a very high mana cost so do NOT use it lightly, or you will be oom before you know it. Post-patch this ability now has an extremely high cooldown, so do not waste it or over commit with it because you WILL be caught out of position. [title] E: Gatling Gun[/title] [number]Corki's gatling gun fires at all targets in front of him for 4 seconds, dealing 20 / 32 / 44 / 56 / 68 (+40% of attack damage) physical damage and reducing 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 armor per second. The armor reduction stacks and lasts 2 seconds. Cooldown 16 seconds Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 mana Range 600 [/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is Corki's steroid ability. It shreds through enemy armor making you deal even more damage and does nice AOE in a cone in front of you. Knowing when to use this ability will come from experience. You do not want to waste this ability, as it increases your damage significantly and has a very long cooldown. Avoid using this ability in lane unless you are in all-in situation, or you risk running oom. [title] R: Missile Barrage[/title] [number]Corki fires a missile toward his targeted location that will collide with the first enemy it hits. Each missile deals 120/190/260 (+20% of attack damage) (+30% of ability power) area magic damage. Corki stores one missile every 10 seconds up to 7 missiles at any given time. Every 4th missile will be a Big One, dealing 50% extra damage. Cooldown 1.2 seconds Cost 30/35/40 mana Range 10000[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This ability is what makes corki who he is. Its a moderatly damaging aoe, enormous range skillshot ablity with a super low cooldown and super low mana costs. The catch to this ability is the "ammo system". Only a certain amount of missles can be stored at a time and it takes 12 seconds to generate just 1 of them after the new patch. A good corki will know how to manage these and not run empty. The missles have many different uses. They are fantastic for lane harassment, they are quite fast and have huge range so are pretty hard to avoid. The AOE of the ability allows even further options for harassing because you can splash your damage of the missles off of creeps in order to hit opponents. If you're planning on going in for a kill make sure you have a "Big One" ready to go, the big ones deal huge damage. This ability is also what makes trinity force a staple item for corki. Time your missles with your trinity force cooldown to maximize damage with auto attacks. And always make sure you time your missles in between auto attacks for maximum DPS.

Pretty simple, just maximize your Q first. It will give you the most benefit in the laning phase where harassment is king. Make sure you pick up rank 2 of your Q at level 3 instead of getting a point in your E. This will give you a larger advantage in lane, because gattling really ins't necessary at this point. Max E second, and W last. Getting levels of your ultimate whenever possible: 6, 11, and 16.

Starting items- Always First Back: rushing phage on corki is a tried and true tradition. It gives you that HP you need to be tankier in lane, it gives you flat damage which is great for your passive. And the infamous phage proc is whats going to land you kills and huge damage in lane. Once they are slowed by phage they will have to blow an escape or CC or else they are going to face tank the entire duration of your gattling gun and lose most of their HP. the other options you're going to have to consider is how many you're going to get, if any at all. If you need extra tankiness and damage then pick up 1 or 2 of these. Or if you need more immediate strength in lane pick up as many as you need. is a great item to pick up regardless of the item path you're choosing. The amount of sustain you're going to get from this + the dorans blade is enormous. Everytime you lose a little hp, simply auto creeps for a little while and you will top your health off NO PROBLEM. If you're INSANELY ahead in your lane and there is little to no risk of you dieing, it's perfectly OK to rush one of these bad boys First "big" item- This is the big choice you're going to have to make, which item to get first. You've basically got 3 options here. // is corkis bread and butter item, but is not necessarily essential. It gives you a bunch of stats that corki loves, HP, ms, damage, attack speed etc. You're going to be rushing this item if you are ahead. It will allow you to snowball and pick up a ton of kills and also win 1v1 engagements with other AD carries that went for other items. I am a huge proponent for rushing this item in a large amount of scenarios. Getting it early means that you will have your 40 stacks by the time the first team engagements and small skirmishes begin. The amount of lifesteal you get from this item is ABSURD. With full stacks you will be healing almost your entire health pool off of a single neutral camp or creep wave. This gives you an unprecedented advantage in lane with a champion like corki. You can constantly trade damage with your opponent and then heal back to full HP off of the creeps. Sustaining yourself longer than your opponent= more gold/exp for you and better objective control. My favorite combination is getting and then completing your . This will make you a midgame powerhouse, which is crucial for solo queue games. Is the other option for corkis first item. This item was a lot more popular on corki until the most recent patch. Since corkis passive no longer scales with crits you don't get those monster crits that the old corki used to get. So this item has taken a backseat to bloodthirster for the time being. You will want to get this item when you are behind. When you're behind as an AD carry rushing to your endgame is crucial and IE is the way to do it. You'll want to consider getting if you go IE, gives you super cheap stats that need. Defensive Options: You're two options for defensive items are and both are situational and you will need to be able to analyze the game in order to determine which to buy. I suggest picking up a defensive item after your 2nd or 3rd major item, depending on the situation. You'll want to buy when the enemy team has lots of magic damage or there is some type of CC on the enemy team that is critical for you to mitigate ( such as skarner ultimate). gives you a good amount of armor so is good vs physical daamge teams. This item is also a great buy for when you are very ahead and/or the main target of the enemy team. Finished Build: Pick up your Last Whisper whenever it is appropriate. If the enemy team is low armor, get your IE first. If they have a large amount of armor get your LW irst.

Corkis laning phase is one of his strongest aspects. Auto+Phos harass is godly and his ability to 1 shot caster creeps at lvl 7 with Q+R is amazing. This is the true range of phosphorous bomb(circled in red). It's much further than people expect so make sure you're abusing the range of this spell as often as possible. [imgext=] Phosphorous bomb has utility as well as damage. Use your Q to reveal enemies in bushes to gain control of the bushes bot lane. Once an enemy has been tagged with your Q they will be revealed for several seconds. [imgext=] Once you are level 6 your missles can provide you with an incredibly safe farming option. They are 1225 range, so if you are expecting to get ganked, or you are extremely far behind in botlane and can't approach the creeps normally you can use your missles to get the last hits [imgext=] Matchups Play Corki against: Ashe simply has no way to deal with Corkis burst. She will be outclassed in damage all game long and will never be able to duel him. Some people may disagree but I think Corki is a strong pick against sivir because phosph bomb is instant meaning that sivir will not know when to use her E. You can bait it out by phosph bombing only after some auto attacks and not all of them. Vayne just gets brutally murdered in lane by corki. It's horrendous to watch. If you've got a sona or something with you vayne wont even be able to approach the creeps after a while. Corki has a decent matchup vs graves. Just don't underestimate graves burst and you should be fine. Tristana doesn't have much going for her lane wise, and with a super weak mid game you will be dominating her for 2/3rds of the game. Other ADs: You have a comparable laning phase to ezreal, just avoid his Q's by weaving between minions and harass him with auto+q whenever you can. Once you're lvl 6 your R's will outrange his Q's and you can outpoke him. Be careful 1v1'ing him, you'll have to avoid his ultimate with vaklyrie and be super careful about fighting him when his W lands on you, as your dps will fall dramatically. This guy is a laning nightmare. Be EXTREMELY careful or you WILL die. Avoid trading damage with him and do your best to keep up in farm. This girl is another insanely strong lane presence. DO NOT trade auto attacks with her. Hit your Auto+Q combo and GET OUT. She will beat you in damage 1v1. This guy isn't much to worry about. His CC is incredible post lvl 6 though so you will always have to be prepared to dodge his ultimate. He also outranges you so be careful about getting harassed in lane. Avoid: She outranges you meaning you'll get poked down a lot early and not have much to respond with until level 6. She can push you to your tower whenever she wants and freely harass you underneath it. Kog'Maw has the auto range with his W to kite you outside of your auto+phosp range. His R also outranges yours. This guy is just obnoxious. Not really popular anymore so you don't have to worry about him. It's also not the end of the world if you have to play corki against him. Supports- Basically any support can go good with Corki. Just pick your support based on the lane matchup and what would be good with your team comp, or whatever counters the enemy team composition. is extremely powerful with corki right now. the burst and harass between the two of them is VERY hard to deal with. at level 6 the kill options are numerous. soraka is a relatively passive choice for a lane partner, she'll keep you topped off in HP and Mana, which is a great thing for corki so you can spam your abilities all day. Just don't expect to get too many kills unless your lane opponents make huge mistakes. we all know about this guy. he's a pretty good partner for corki because following up after his stun is easy, since corki won't be inhibited by creeps. his passive from W makes you quite tanky. this is a pretty scary lane composition. nunu is just an all around good laning partner no matter who you are. Blood Boil is AMAZING and works fantastically with corki, since Corkis item path generally doesn't allow for much Attack Speed. Super strong kill lane setup. Leonas passive synergizes with corki amazingly since all of his abilities deal aoe meaning you'll be able to proc her passive on all the creeps and opponents. Once she catches someone just unload your damage into the enemy and watch the kills pile up. Janna/Corki has always been a strong lane composition. Jannas shield protects corki while he runs up for an Auto+Q combo meaning you'll out trade the enemy every time. Corki combos amazing with CC and janna has plenty of CC. Great kill lane for corki, becaues once the hook has been landed corki has the burst to follow up for a kill immediately. The trick when laning with a blitzcrank is to not trade damage with the enemy. So unlike with most other supports, you aren't going to want to be going for Auto+Q's unless your sure it will be free damage (they are going for a last hit or something). Just wait for the grab to land and unload your damage. This guy is an amazing support but is permanently banned due to his jungle brokenness. He has plenty of CC and burst which corki loves.

Corkis mid game is one of the best in the game, so take full advantage of it. He has amazing mobility and his farming capabilities are unrivaled. Take EVERY opportunity you can to farm and be as GREEDY about it as possible. You want to be hyper farming multiple lanes AND clearing the jungle at the same time. This is a very old video made by Reginald but it showcases perfectly the point I'm trying to make: You should be much stronger than the enemy AD carry at this point so you want to be dueling them whenever possible and provoking small skirmishes by contesting objectives whenever you can. Dragon spawns every 6:00 minutes and buffs spawn every 5 minutes. Make sure you are timing these objectives and getting your team prepared for them every time they are about to spawn.

At this point in the game it is assumed that you have atleast 5/6 of your major items. Corkis late game power is nothing to mess with. The only inhibiting factor is his short auto attack range (550). The power of his abilities have also gone done drastically at this point, because of their magic scaling and you're lack of penetration and ability power, and the presence of magic resist on the enemy team. Your auto attacks and your gattling gun are your true threats now. Because you're range is so short having someone on your team assigned to "peeling" for you is a must. Generally this is done by the support, but in actuality this is the job of your entire team to make sure you're protected. Beware of the other ranged carries, especially ones with longer range than you. At this point ANY carry with 6 items is going to output a ton of damage. And with critical strikes being an integral part of any carries items this means that a lot of their damage is RNG based. You have to remember this fact because if you decide to try duel another carry this late in the game, you could end up dieing to RNG even if you're "supposed" to be dealing more damage than them. Approaching another carry that has longer range than you such as cait can get you killed. She'll get free auto attacks off before you even get your first one in and you could end up being too low to continue the fight and endanger the game. See below for specifics about fighting.

Your range is relatively short so you want to make sure you are constantly aware of your positioning. Pre-engagement you want to poke the enemy down with your missles but manage your ammo wisely. Use your gattling gun when you need to deal the maximum amount of damage to take down an important target ( important target being relative to your needs) such as bruisers or squishes that your team catches out of position. Your job as an AD carry is to take down the targets nearest you while you are in a safe position. So this generally means enemy bruisers or tanks. Corki is well equipped to take down tanks FAST. His true damage from his passive and the armor shred from E will tear them up in no time at all. to give you an idea what the kill order will likely look like: [imgsmall=champ/irelia.png]>[imgsmall=champ/maokai.png]>[imgsmall=champ/sona.png]>[imgsmall=champ/zyra.png]>[imgsmall=champ/ezreal.png] After their tank line has been taken care of you can move on to the enemy carries. DO NOT trade damage with an enemy carry unless you are certain you will take them down first. When approaching a fight, it's important that you keep track of which major cooldowns and ultimates the enemy team has available. You'll want to wait out the huge aoe abilities that would shred you apart like kennen+morg for example. After the teamfight has become a little bit safer you can approach cautiously and start dealing damage. The thing that seperates the good corkis from the excellent corkis is valkryie usage. Do not just use valkyrie as a last minute escape from death when you're at 1% hp. Use it to better position yourself in a teamfight as the location of the teamfight changes, use it to avoid aoe and other harmful spells that need to be dodged. and be especially careful when using it to chase someone down, because you will be vulnerable immediately afterward and out of position. Also remember to save enough mana for valkyrie, don't die with your valkyrie cooldown up just because you went oom from not paying attention to mana. Attack-Moving (Orb-walking) When you're in a teamfight you want to make sure that you are constantly auto attacking in order to maximize your DPS. But it's not always safe to stay in the same position and auto attack, so what you can do is reposition while you're auto attacking and this is known as kiting, attack moving, orbwalking etc. Basically what you do is move in the direction that you want while constantly auto attacking at the same time. Be careful not to "cancel" your auto attacks by inputting another direction before your auto attack animation ends. Corkis auto attack is one of the best in the game and comes out almost instantly so attacking moving with corki is very simple. Make sure that you are properly utilizing the A-button to auto attack while on the run. A-attacking is done by clicking A and selecting a spot on the ground with left click, it will then attack the nearest target to the place that you clicked. A-attacking makes hitting targets in teamfights a breeze so that you don't accidentally misclick the ground and walk your character into a bad position. When kiting someone that is chasing you, you can simply click away from then and hit the A-button right in front of your character and it will automatically select them. This method takes the least amount of mouse movement and is the most efficient way to ensure that you don't mess up your auto attacks. [imgext=] and then... [imgext=] rinse and repeat these two steps and you'll be kiting like a pro. Make sure you are throwing in missles and Q's to proc your trinity or just do more damage, but always remember to do them inbetween your autoattacks so that you don't waste damage. Also note that casting Q and/or R puts corki into a lagged state where he stops moving momentarily, be aware of this when you are kiting. just practice a bunch and get used to the way corkis auto attack feels. you'll also have to adapt this method based on how much attack speed you currently have.

[imgext=] I created this guide because post-nerf Corki is quite different and I feel an updated guide is necessary. The other reason is because the other Corki guides out there right now are not quality and not current to the meta. Everyone needs to play Corki. Screw Ezreal, forget Graves and forget about that slutty Miss Fortune. Corki is a baller, a real shot caller. Corki can do it all and is a fantastic champion who has stood the test of time after numerous nerfs. Also, Urfrider corki is da best. This guide was created with an emphasis on solo queue play, but everything is still applicable to arranged team play and competitive play.
