Greetings! I am TSM.Evo's jungler and I thought a [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] guide would be fun to write since, at the moment, he has no featured guides. I feel that [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] is an underrated jungler that will probably be used more often once people become more familiar with him. He is a hero that is capable of carrying a team if given enough time to farm. Also, he's able to tank a ton of damage while also dishing out a decent amount of damage. [title][highlight]Pros[/highlight][/title] [.]He's really fast + hard to catch. [.]Tanky as eff with his [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/w.png] turned on. [.]Godlike initiation. [.]Ambiguous picks are always good (can go top or jungle). [.]He's a pony :) [highlight][title]Cons[/title][/highlight] [.]He's especially slow at clearing during the early levels of his jungle. [.]Tough to gank with pre lvl 6. [.]It takes a while to get him farmed up, so the game could be over by the time you're strong--especially if you fall behind early.

[.][highlight]YELLOW:[/highlight] Grab armor to improve your survivability. [.][highlight]BLUE:[/highlight] Scaling MR pays off in the long run. [.][highlight]QUINTS:[/highlight] Movement speed quints are great on him, synergizes with his passive The Seals and Glyphs are standard for most junglers. I like to get some armor pen (jungle mobs have armor) and of course attack speed reds for quicker jungle clear time. Movement speed that works with his passive and moving around the map quicker.

[center][imgext=http://i.imgur.com/n3DOM.jpg][/center] [title][img=skills/hecarim/p.png] Passive: Warpath[/title] [number]Hecarim ignores unit collision and gains attack damage equal to 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20 / 22.5 / 25% of his bonus movement speed.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] To me, this passive isn't very game changing, but if you get enough speed then it can help you out a little. [title][img=skills/hecarim/q.png] Q: Rampage[/title] [number]Hecarim cleaves nearby enemies, dealing physical damage. (50% damage to minions and monsters) If Hecarim damages at least one enemy unit with this attack, he gains a stack of Rampage, reducing the base cooldown of this skill by 1 second for a short duration. This effect can stack up to 2 times.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This is your main tool for clearing the jungle. It takes a few seconds to get the stacks up, but after you get them you'll be able to spam this. Try your best to last hit the jungle minions with this to keep your stacks up. [title][img=skills/hecarim/w.png] W: Spirit of Dread[/title] [number]Hecarim surrounds himself with the spirit of dread for 4 seconds, dealing magic damage per second to all enemies within its reach. Additionally, Hecarim is healed for a percentage of the damage enemies within the area take from any source. Healing from damage dealt to minions is capped per cast.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] This will give you godlike tankiness in team fights and keep you healthy throughout your jungle. It's a pretty awesome spell, especially if your team is dishing out a lot of damage near you. [title][img=skills/hecarim/e.png] E: Devastating Charge[/title] [number]Hecarim gains 75% movement speed over the course of three seconds, ending one second afterward. His next attack knocks the target back, dealing physical damage based on how far Hecarim has traveled during Devastating Charge's duration.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] It's a pretty tricky spell to use. You can use this spell to get from camp to camp (especially wraiths to wolves and vice-versa).It's your primary ganking tool pre level 6. However, people can [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] this easily and it will boost them towards safety. What you want to do is run along the side of them and push them into a wall or your teammate. Usually, you will at least get a [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] out of them. It can also be used in combination with your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png]. You [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png] them, fearing them towards your team, then push them even further into your team with [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/e.png]. [title][img=skills/hecarim/r.png] R: Onslaught of Shadows[/title] [number]Hecarim summons spectral riders and charges forward, dealing magic damage to anyone they strike. Hecarim releases a shockwave when he finishes his charge, dealing additional magic damage and causing nearby enemies to flee in terror away from Hecarim for 1 second.[/number] [title]Explanation:[/title] What makes [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] pretty viable is his [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png]. This gives you the ability to initiate from a very long range. If you have [imgsmall=summoners/flash.png] then the combo makes it almost impossible for the enemy to avoid you without a blink/dash/flash. It's good for intiaiting team fights, ganking, and for getting away.

[center][imgext=http://i.imgur.com/n3DOM.jpg][/center] [.]Get [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/w.png] to do damage/sustain first. [.]Max your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/q.png] afterwards. [.]You can get his charge spell either at level 3 or 4 depending on if you see a gank opportunity at level 3.

[center][title]Starting Items[/title] [img=items/boots-of-speed.png][img=items/health-potion3.png] You want these so you can clear your jungle efficiently. [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] is pretty slow early game, so boots are a good choice. [title]After Your First Clear[/title] [img=items/heart-of-gold.png] + [img=items/philosophers-stone.png] Get your GP10 items early. The gold gained along with the extra health is great, especially since they build into core items. [title][highlight]IF[/highlight] Pony Angry Pony Smash[/title] [img=items/sheen.png] into a [img=items/trinity-force.png] I generally just build a [imgsmall=items/sheen.png] then go tanky. However, if you're getting kills left and right, I would just make a [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png] for tons of damage. [title]Depending On Enemy Team Composition[/title] [img=items/mercurys-treads.png] OR [img=items/ninja-tabi.png] If the enemy team has a lot of AP/CC, go [imgsmall=items/mercurys-treads.png]. If they have alot of phyiscal damage I would make a [imgsmall=items/ninja-tabi.png]. [title][highlight]IF[/highlight] Team Needs Tank[/title] [img=items/frozen-heart.png]and [img=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png] and [img=items/force-of-nature.png] To get tanky build a [imgsmall=items/frozen-heart.png](great for cdr/armor) and if they're double AP [imgsmall=items/aegis-of-the-legion.png] is not a bad item at all to make. Also, for later in game [imgsmall=items/force-of-nature.png] is good for the MR. [title]Pretty Good Items[/title] [img=items/warmogs-armor.png] or [img=items/frozen-mallet.png] or [img=items/guardian-angel.png] [imgsmall=items/warmogs-armor.png] for HP and [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png] let's you peel. [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png] isn't 100% reliable like [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png].[imgsmall=items/guardian-angel.png] is nice because coming back to life is never bad. [title]For Teh Lulz[/title] [img=items/infinity-edge.png] If you're winning super hard, then you can buy this for fun. TONS OF DAMAGE. Of course, if you're not completely dominating then this wouldn't be the best choice--it's just something I like to do when my team is owning.[/center]

[highlight][title]Jungle Path[/title][/highlight] 1) Start wolves 2) Grab blue immediately after 3) Get your wraiths 4) Get your red 5) Look for opportunities to gank 6) In between ganking secure objectives/clear your jungle Generally, this is the only path to take because he is a blue reliant jungler. It's possible to start red, but I think it slows you down and might even put you behind. You need to be able to spam your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/q.png] and [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/w.png] as [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png]. [highlight][title]Solo Q_Q Tips and Tricks[/title][/highlight] In solo queue, early ganks are really powerful and can snowball a lane/the entire game in your favor. So, if you see a lane that is gankable, go for it!

By mid game you should have your GP10 items and, if possible, [imgsmall=items/sheen.png]. You're nearing the end of the laning phase and should focus on getting objectives (dragon). If you feel as if you need map control [imgsmall=items/oracles-elixir.png] is not a bad item to get. However, this is a pretty big investment to make, so be sure to not die five minutes after you get it. When your team groups for dragon you should almost always be the one initiating. So, if you see an opportunity, don't be afraid to [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png] into their team. Go head first, go balls deep. At the moment people really underestimate how strong Pony Boy is. If you're able to push a high priority target (a carry) into your team, that's even better. If that doesn't win you the fight right then, it's okay. Press [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/w.png] and tank their team. Try to target their frontline (tanks/bruisers) unless you feel confident/tanky enough to get to their carries. Remember, you won't be doing a lot of damage unless you completely dominated early game. Keep that in mind!

Late game is basically a repeat of mid game except your objectives are inhibitors/baron. You're still leading your team into fights with your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png] or are trying to pick people off. Just be sure you don't totally ditch your team since [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] is so damn fast! You can also split push like a boss. If there isn't any objectives on the map and you feel that your team needs to pressure the map somehow, then you can split push. No one is going to catch you with your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/e.png], [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png], [imgsmall=items/shurelyas-reverie.png], [imgsmall=summoners/ghost.png]/[imgsmall=summoners/flash.png]. You're pretty much impossible to catch unless they 5 man your ass. By now, if there are objectives and your team hasn't grouped up, they're either being uncooperative or are just bad. If that is the case, ping a lot and hope your team listens...eventually. Lol.

1) If you're feeling really confident just dive into the carries. Shove your horse hooves in their face. 2) You can make big plays with your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png] by intiating on the enemy team. You can also shove squishy carries into your team for maximum ownage. 3) It's pretty easy to get out with your [imgsmall=skills/hecarim/r.png]/[imgsmall=skills/hecarim/e.png] if you haven't used them. 4) If it's late, late, late game and the carries are real terrors, it might be better if you juts peel. [.] Hopefully you get [imgsmall=items/phage.png] procs from [imgsmall=items/trinity-force.png]. [.] If you have [imgsmall=items/frozen-mallet.png], the enemies won't be getting very far. :) [.] Honestly, you probably won't be doing a lot of damage, but you have pretty good damage over time. [.] Don't get flustered if people are not blowing up, you're a huge nuisance with how tanky you are.

I believe that [imgsmall=champ/hecarim.png] is a super underrated champion that will one day shine when a popular streamer consistently uses him or when he is used in tournament play. His only weakness is that his early ganks are poor, but other popular champions that have poor ganks pre-6 have caught on over time. I'm not saying he can't gank pre-6, but they're subpar ganks at best. If you are seeking elo, you can attain it with him. People don't see him much so it's sometimes hard to predict what he will do..
