Kindred is a ranged auto-attack based Jungler with extremely high damage output, dueling potential, and mobility. She provides a lot of early game pressure and damage for her team, and is usually a high damage threat for late game teamfights.

Kindred’s main strengths lie in her extremely strong early game, where she can heavily influence the course of the game through successful ganks and jungle invades. She has the potential to out duel most common jungle matchups, as most junglers are reliant on landing a skillshot while all your abilities are point and click. It’s during the early game where you want to get a lot of kills and snowball your lanes to victory.

However, Kindred is extremely squishy and relies on your skill to avoid & dodge enemy spells. One mistake can be extremely punishing. Furthermore, your usefulness tends to drop off in the lategame. Most of your influence will come from your ult. This guide will cover her playstyle in the jungle, and give a basic idea of how to play Kindred.

Make sure your jungle entrances are warded in case of an invade

If your bottom lane wants to take a camp, you would start on the opposite side.

  1. For example, if you’re on Blue side team and your bottom lane wants to take Krugs, you’d get a leash at Gromp from your top laner.

  2. This is generally better for your team as it gives your bottom lane an advantage, while your top lane doesn’t lose out on anything

If you start Krugs, your path will more or less be:

  1. Krugs -> Red -> Wraiths
  2. Check and see if there’s a possible gank
  3. If there is a gank, go for it If no gank, clear Blue -> (Scuttle) -> Wolves -> Gromp This is usually where you would back and buy

If you start Gromp, your path will more or less be:

  1. Gromp -> Blue -> Wolves
  2. Check for gank etc
  3. Clear the rest of your jungle

If you’re near a lane, and you see the enemy laner trying to freeze the minion wave, it is usually a good idea to try to shove and break the freeze

If you know you’re stronger than the enemy jungler, you can probably invade them and look for a kill

  1. Make sure you dodge their skillshots if you do this
  2. Make sure you have proper warding so you don’t get flanked
  3. Be careful of Lee Sin and Elise, they do an extremely high amount of damage and have a good chance of beating you in a 1v1

Look for ganks constantly

  1. If you’re near a lane that the enemy is pushing hard alone on, that’s probably a good gank
  2. You can tell if a lane is warded if the enemy instantly backs off the second you’re near them
  3. If your top laner has a minion wave at the enemy tower, and the enemy top laner is low and trying to last hit, this is usually a guaranteed dive kill if you go from behind
  4. Your combo should be Q -> W into E range, and keep spamming Q and weaving auto attacks while moving in the direction of the enemy until they’re dead or they escape
  5. The effectiveness of your ganks will directly impact the course of a game, so getting a good sense for them is mandatory

Track the enemy Jungler

  1. If you are nearby a lane that the enemy Jungler is about to gank, you want to assist that lane for a counter-gank which might result in a good amount of kills for your team
  2. If the enemy jungler ganks on the opposite side of the map, it should be a good cue for you to either invade and steal jungle camps, or to make a gank of your own

You want to play teamfights like an AD Carry

  1. Hit the frontline, and don’t dive it
  2. Make sure you move

Use your ultimate carefully You want to use it like a Zilean ult, so on yourself or an ally who is about to die However, do not use it if your team is about to throw out a tonne of burst and kill the enemy team
