LoLwiki says that they are some AA modifiers that can't be dodged by Jax' e like Nasus q. And I just laned against Garen. At lvl 1 he activated Q and I popped e. Like 0,5 secs after that he hit me and I got a chunk of damage even though my e was still ative. So it definitely did damage to me.
Read the guide. Jax can't dodge the silence part of Garen's Q, but the damage sure as hell ain't coming. This applies for Fiora's ult, GP's Parrrley, Wukong's Q, and other autoattack-type abilities as well. THAT is what makes Jax's E so good.
Can you get us a matchup stat-thingy vs Zed, Kha and Elise? I've seriously just CRUSHED a zed pre-6 today, and he had to leave lane so many times i ended up 3 levels above him, and once i got 6 i just dove him over and over, killing him every time. i'm not sure if he weas bad or if it's a bas matchup for him. (I of course kept the brush warded to amke sure i wasn't getting ganked.
I also played against an elise today, but sicne it was a dual top it's fairly hard to say how hard it would've actually been.
Hey,I play Jax and can I say this is the best one I've seen so far. I mean, I still don't build Warmogs(derp :P), but a lot of this item build helped me out a lot in draft/ranked games.
Just a question: What do you think about Tooth compared to Rageblade? Nashor's Tooth and Rageblade both give off AP and attack speed, but Tooth has a 20% CDR and better attack speed, but Rageblade has more AP when stacked and that passive. I'm still trying them out, but what would you REALLY prefer(supposing we ignore the core build on that guide)?
Nice guide, I'm only not sure about one thing - why did u put Singed into the easiest match-ups for Jax? As a person who main both Jax and Singed I think that good Singed will completely destroy good Jax - he makes your counterstrike useless (magic dmg and fling to deny stun) and also he scales better in teamfights - flinging u out just when u leap to enemy carry, dealing massive aoe dmg to all your allies, enormous slow (especially with rylai). After lvl 6 Singed is kinda unkillable - even with ghost u can't really follow him cause of poison and he gets tons of movespeed, tankiness, dmg from ultimate. It is in my opinion one of the best counterpicks against Jax. Farmed Singed is a lot scarrier than farmed Jax! (the only way to destroy him is to make mercury's and tons of slows - I suggest early cutlass/phage, Jax has not enough harass to deny his farm, Singed will most likely run tabi and frozen heart later which hurts Jax a lot)
@Tappen: So you're also throwing a Warmogs in there as well? Because with a warmogs and your ultimate, you shouldn't be "flying into their team and dying" as you say.
And Trinity might be the better option after todays patch with the more IBG nerfs, but before? No, not unless you were the sole damage dealer on your team and your team comp consisted of "keep the jax alive"
Tried this build.(1.6k elo) Sure, won lane easy against a somewhat bad irelia. Late game, this build is good if you want to fly like a paperplane into their team and die. UNLESS you have a jungle that builds TANK (then i mean real tank), triforce would be a better starter item. I can't really say anything about BotRK, because i haven't tried it that much, but i guess its better for sustained dmg, allthough Hextech Gunblade gives better burst and better sustain, which makes you more tanky.
@Purple: That's actually what i'm planning to do in this huge update that's coming soon :p. Thanks for the suggestion and i'm glad you like the guide!
@Vas: Hybrid pen is certainly viable. If you can last hit effectively with them and aren't planning on early aggression where the AD would help then go for it.
The defense tree in S3 isn't that great anymore. The highest tiers are all trash masteries once you clearly take a look at them. Offensive masteries overall are better for Jax, as Flask+Pots and ward start help out his early game issues and squishiness well. It makes him a harder hitter then he was in S2.
IF is still a good buy, but overall IBG is cheaper, provides CDR, and has an amazing AoE slow Proc and damage. If you're steamrolling hard and don't need the utility IBG provides, then by all means TF is great. But i like having that utility on Jax.
@Thrill: Leap strike first, sorry, should be more clear on that
@Sweed: SV is very Viable. But with Warmogs and IBG, CDR and Health are not AS important, and i can buy either an abyssal scepter or Maw and grab damage as well as MR. So you have to ask yourself is the unique passive and more CDR worth it?
@Random: Nashor's isn't core in him anymore. Hell, i don't even build it anymore on him period. To many other good items
