Introduction
Yep. That's correct. You are about to learn how to direct the explosive energy of that hulking purple beast. Nothing will stop you. "What is crowd control?", Mundo will ask, "What is damage and what is losing?" Is your ult up? OF COURSE IT IS. Enemy minions waves will evaporate and you might want to start designing a summer cottage near the enemy fountain turret.Mundo is not a tank and he is not an AD carry. He is simply the single most saddening thing to ever happen to your enemy teams. They would cry if they weren't all busy respawning. Mundo goes where he pleases.
Masteries
Mundo is appreciated as he pleases so you better have some damage. If you are sitting in a team fight with 5,000 health and 200 armor/magic resist then you have failed and you should continue reading this guide. Masteries are offensive because, besides the fact that Mundo attacks as he pleases, he actually does have a steroid ability and should therefore be used correctly as a fire-engulfed hurt machine.
Runes
Well aren't these some classic jungling runes. What's that? This insane person jungles? Of course silly Billy, Mundo jungles as he pleases. If you don't know the basics/details of jungling, then go Googtube and learn some. Late game CDR allows you to start juggling several cleavers in the air (or in the enemy's face) and the extra exp boost will never leave you with one frustrating minion kill until the next level. After all, Mundo levels as he pleases.
Summoner Spells
Herp derp.
IMO most under-appreciated summoner spell. Teleport: Even before the minion/turret changes, pushing (and destroying the nexus) is how you win games. Good thing Mundo pushes as he pleases. Teleport is incredibly useful on many junglers, since they often need to temporarily hold lanes that are on the other side of the map and get back from fountain trips. Its use might even double in effectiveness late game.
Skills
Passive: Adrenaline RushDr. Mundo regenerates 0.3% of his max health each second.
Explanation:
Get health, as you please.
Q: Infected CleaverDr. Mundo hurls his cleaver, dealing damage equal to 15 / 18 / 21 / 23 / 25% of the target's current health (80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 damage minimum) and slowing them by 40% for 2 seconds.
Cooldown 4seconds
Cost 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 health
Range 10000
Explanation:
Mundo's bread and butter. Practice is all you need to start landing these, but it's not like these face-eating cleavers travel slowly. This is your ganking material, so don't mess them up. Some tips: when harassing an enemy champion in lane, don't throw them as soon as the CD drops. Instead, zone them out by throwing at unpredictable intervals, and try to hypnotize them with your pacing pattern, making it more likely that their movement will be predictable as well.
W: Burning AgonyToggle: Dr. Mundo deals 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 (+20% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies, and reduces the duration of crowd control effects on Dr Mundo by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35%.
Cooldown 4 seconds
Cost 20 / 28 / 35 / 43 / 50 health per second
Range 325
Explanation:
This is your farming ability. And part of being uncatchable. Learning when to have it on or off is another thing that takes good judgment and experience. By late game you will probably have this toggled on most of the time.
E: MasochismIncreases physical damage by 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 for 5 seconds. Dr. Mundo gains an additional +0.4 / 0.55 / 0.7 / 0.85 / 1 damage for each percentage of health he is missing.
Cooldown 7 seconds
Cost 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 health
Range 300
Explanation:
A kind of subtle yet at the same time OMFGPWN steroid that fits Mundo's play style perfectly. A good time to use this is all the time, especially late game. With CDR you can have this up almost constantly. And just look at level 5: +100 damage. YEAH YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, PLUS ONE HUNDRED DAMAGE! AND THAT'S NOT EVEN INCLUDING THE BONUS!
R: SadismDr. Mundo regenerates 50% of his Max Health over 12 seconds. Additionally, he gains 15 / 25 / 35% movement speed.
Cooldown 60 seconds
Cost 20 percent of health
Range 20
Explanation:
They will rage and cry over this one. The cooldown can be reduced so significantly that you should never have to worry about having to go back to the fountain. Mundo shops as he pleases, and he'll probably be full health when he blue pills. This move is your super extreme soaking ability, and you can kite the enemy champions into any trap you please. Most players like to target enemies at 5% of their health, but happily for you, most do not realize how dangerous Mundo is in this state. Use liberally and as you please.
Early Game
Here's my favorite jungle path: Start with this and get flexible. As you probably guessed, Mundo ganks as he pleases. On your way over to invade the enemy jungle, throw a cleaver in a side lane's face. They will cry and probably blow both summoner escape spells. On your way back from curb-stomping the enemy jungler, finish the side lane kill with another cleaver to the face and probably some righteous flames, too.
Mid Game
Gank, push, gank, kill a baby dragon, gank, push, gank, push. Mundo has great movement and you better have his lvl 2 boots by now, whichever one you pick. Every opportunity you have, smack up the enemy towers. Keep having great map awareness, map control, leadership skills, and communication ability. Just like Dr. Mundo himself. Mundo farms as he pleases in mid game, so you should probably be able to afford a small castle. But spend it on my recommended items anyways, for increased pleasure.
Late Game
If you've done your job as you pleased, then the enemy team is probably wetting their pants in unison as a 5-man clusterf*** hiding in a bush. What's that? Your Teemo who is probably an easy-bot is waltzing through the jungle getting ganked by them? No worries, the rest of you just keep pushing all three lanes into their fountain, and they will probably cry some more. Keep on warding, and if you have some skill it will be very hard for them to catch you. Not only are you slippery from all the sweat you've exuded from your workouts (which you do while the enemy team tries to CC and hurt you, lol) you have a movement speed burst from Youmuu's and from your ult. Your CC redux is continuous and you have cleavers every half a second to slow enemies... oh and you might have Randuin's, too. Don't be afraid to push hard and then run through their base with your ult on to get away. Mundo escapes as he pleases.
Final Comments
So what is Mundo exactly? You can probably describe him as a soaker, an off-tank, or a bruiser. Personally I like to refer to him as the "Patented Arsenal of Induced Lunacy and Ominously Lethal Zaun Emissions of Rage", or just PAINLOLZER for short.Mundo goes where he pleases, and now you know how. Brown cow. Wow.
Go get some.
NOTE: If people like this I can get more in depth with specific strategies and play style. It's my first guide so I just wanted to have some fun with it :)
